I found We Can via Yelp (yay, community referrals!) and I am very glad that I did. Dan & Troy were very responsive, showed up exactly when they said they would, and delivered a professional and thorough service. After laying out tarps to cover our flooring from any dust/soot, Dan was able to do a cleaning and scoping of the flue and chimney chase. Remember that 'really good thing'? Yeah, that was because the cleaning knocked loose a piece of fire clay that had been haphazardly applied up in an area of the chimney that we never would have seen. If it had not been for Dan's expertise, we could have lit a fire, thought we were enjoying a fire, and potentially caused an *actual* house fire. Yikes! These guys know the safety protocols, the building codes, and the benefits & drawbacks of using a fireplace in your home. Our next step is to get a non-venting gas and ceramic log set, and then have Dan & Troy come back to do the installation. They even advised on sizing and style to get such a set!
