I am sharing my firsthand experience with this business to help other consumers. In late April, I hired them to inspect a water leak located where the mantle and tile meet near the fireplace doors. They diagnosed the issue and recommended replacing the chase cover. Based on their expert recommendation, we paid them $2,625 for the replacement. Unfortunately, during a heavy rainfall in early July, the exact same leak returned. We called the company back, and they sent out the same technician. During this second visit, he performed a water isolation test between the siding and shingles. This test successfully proved the leak was coming from that specific area, which I have documented in the attached photos. Looking at the documentation they provided me, a clear contradiction stands out: *First Report: Listed the flashing condition as "Fair" and recommended the $2,625 chase cover. *Second Report: Listed the exact same flashing as "Poor" and resulted in a new quote of $7,100 to fix the actual source of the leak. Because we paid thousands of dollars based on an initial inspection that failed to resolve the issue, I am in the process of filing a formal complaint with the Kansas Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division. I highly recommend potential customers carefully review my attached, redacted inspection reports and photos before hiring this company. I have attached pictures of the reports and quotes on google. Let me be perfectly clear: attempting to deflect accountability by implying a communication disconnect between my husband and me does not alter the physical evidence, your own written reports, or the signed contract. You stated: "Our repair technician noticed that once the chase cover was removed, he was able to see from the inside of the chimney that the flashing showed signs of allowing water in." If your repair crew saw active flashing leaks and visible wood rot while the chase cover was off, re-assembling the chimney, taking our $2,625.38, and leaving our home to suffer structural water damage for another two months is the absolute definition of a negligent repair. Furthermore, our signed contract explicitly mandated: "While the chase cover is off, we will inspect the areas we can see around the roofline and flashing for water entry." Your team completely failed that contractual obligation. If they performed a proper inspection as promised, work should have been halted the moment the old cover was removed and the rot was visible. Instead, your company chose to finish an ineffective repair, collect our money, and wait until July to present an outrageous $7,100.85 upsell to fix the actual issue. Pointing to boilerplate fine print about a "1% surface area" to excuse an aggregate failure to stop the leak we hired you to fix is completely unacceptable. We will not be bullied or manipulated into paying $7,100.85 for your company's failure to properly diagnose this in April. As requested in my previous email, provide the line-by-line itemized invoice for the April work and the itemized breakdown for the new quote immediately. I called and asked for a cleaning, they tell me the price and then proceed to tell me about the inspection fee. I explain that I want a cleaning and possibly a cap. The person tells me inspections are required by law. As I question further I find it's not a law just a preference of the company and their affiliations. I appreciate last Friday that they called telling me the technician would be arriving an hour later on the following Monday for my appointment and if that still work me. I had no problem with the time change. Zach was on time, professional and informative during my appointment. He ask me if I had any questions or concerns before he began the work. Then he explained to me what he was going to do before he started the work. I originally scheduled the appointment for inspection and cleaning. But after Zach showed me the pictures of the inside of my chimney, I did not need a cleaning. He told me what things to keep an eye on and how often I should have my chimney inspected. At the end of the appointment, they give you a small booklet about your inspection including pictures taken during the inspection. I will be using this company in the future. read more

I found this company in the Internet, among others, and liked their introductory video. After having them clean the chimney, they ran a camera up and found some issues that needed to be fixed. I initially balked at the quote and had another company give me a second opinion and (what ended up being) a much smaller quote for general maintenance on the chimney. I decided to go with Full Service Chimney's quote anyway, because I saw for myself the inside of the chimney, and their explanations made sense. Their inspection was much more thorough than the other company, and I was able to independently verify everything they were telling me about the work they said needed to be done. While actually doing the work, they put down tarp and wore shoe covers in my house. I didn't have to clean up after them after they left, and the chimney itself was much cleaner than before they serviced it. In my conversations with the office staff and technicians, they answered all of my questions and left me feeling comfortable not only that the work would be done properly, but that they would support the work they did into the future. They were also quick to call back the next business day for the one or two times I left a message after hours. I feel much more comfortable using my chimney now! read more

Olivia bent over backwards to accommodate my request for a last minute appointment, and I wasn't even all that pleasant to her! (Sorry, Olivia, I was kinda sick.) Robert came out promptly and even though he wasn't wearing a top hat and tails like in the movies I got over it pretty quickly because he really seemed to know his stuff. He cleaned my chimney quickly, he didn't leave a mess and gave me a fair price and an honest appraisal of the condition of my chimney. After heavy rains in the fall of 2018 a significant leak in our Bonner Springs home's chimney was discovered. We ultimately decided to work with the chimney sweep company Full Service Chimney out of Overland Park to do an extensive tear down and rebuild of the chimney. Full Service Chimney was the most expensive company we considered. However, they addressed questions honestly, prepared a detailed work proposal, and they worked hard to address any concerns we had with (thus making us comfortable) with all elements of our contract. This inspection, estimate and contract process was guided by Zach professionally and without issue. When the work was executed the installation crew (Joseph, Kevin and Jacob) were very responsive and responsible. They were excellent at addressing details like daily site cleanup and work status communication. The final product exceeded my expectations in terms of workmanship quality and nice visual cosmetics. There is a reason the company has been in business for over 30 years. As a customer, I was treated right. For example: Full Service Chimney put a cover tarp on the chimney to mitigate further leaking until the scheduled chimney repair work date arrived. The cover tarp needed adjusting a couple of times due to high winds. Full Service Chimney came back as needed in a timely fashion to adjust the cover tarp at no additional charge. All my interactions with Full Service Chimney were both friendly and respectful. My new chimney is a nice improvement over the original and I anticipate that it will be trouble free for a very long time. I have no reservations recommending Full Service Chimney. read more

They walked me thru the process and answered all my questions. No mess was left behind when they were done. Very knowledgable. The ladies in be office were responsive and helpful. Jacob and Shane were the BEST! This company was recommended to me by a friend when a limb fell on our house and "broke" our chimney. It was cracked close to our roof line and a portion had already fallen into our front yard. Tom came out and gave us our bid and didn't way much when my mouth fell open looking at it! We needed help and it was going to take a lot to repair the chimney. Shane and Jacob worked and worked and worked on our chimney both on the outside and inside. They were a delight to work with. I wanted to use as many of the old bricks as we could since they had been painted and sandblasted and would be difficult to match. The new bricks were pretty dark and, while they was repairing the flue, etc., they humored me as I "spackled" paint on the new bricks to match the old. I could not be more pleased with the way our chimney turned out!! Reusing the old bricks made a world of difference on our 80 year old home! Only Jacob knows which bricks are old and which are new! It was a pleasure to have them in and around our home. I think it says a lot about a company when the employees talked about how much they liked working for this family owned company. I couldn't have been more satisfied with the service I received from this company. I had a massive leak which came into the fireplace every time it rained. I initially agreed to an inspection of the chimney which showed multiple issues (1 being the bricks at the top of my chimney were falling out making the chimney unstable). Ryan Berry (the chimney tech) walked me through the issues with pictures he had taken explaining each, and what each meant to the structural safety of the chimney along with cost estimates. This allowed me to choose the most important things to do first which helped with my budget. After the repair was done, Aaron (who was one of the individuals who had worked on the repairs) followed up to ensure I was satisfied and that the work had fixed the problem. I told him I continued to have an issue with the leak (not as intense but still there). Ryan, immediately came back to further research the issue and worked until he found the additional cause. The leak has now been fixed. My chimney is stable, leak free and looks great. This is due to the hard work by these individuals, who are part of this company and their adherence to excellence. Full Service Chimney is very highly recommended. They installed a new liner and gas logs a few years ago and did an exceptional job. I had them come for a winter check this week and was prepared to pay a fee, but with such infrequent use no cleaning was required and there was no charge. Batteries were needed for the remote and a reminder of the gas features was given by their technician. I was so pleased with the service and very grateful for his honesty. Their staff are extremely reliable and knowledgeable. It's wonderful to work with a company with such integrity. read more
