I work in forward mortgages and never was a fan of reverse mortgages. I felt that the fees were way too high considering we're trying to help our seniors. David was very helpful, patient and willing to negotiate the fees. My parents are happy and enjoying their financial freedom. My husband and I attempted to refinance our townhouse from Mike Manning @ DIrect Mortgage Source and I can only say if you are thinking about it DON'T !!! My first clue that it was a bad choice should have been that it took him 5 business days to even give me a call (or return an email) back. This pattern persisted over the course of the nine weeks we attempted to refinance. I was lucky to get any response back from him at all. Once I finally did get an initial response, he seemingly asked for all the documents he needed to complete the refinance. Nearly 4 weeks later - after multiple e-mails requesting a status update to which he would respond "I'll let you know (monday, tuesday, whatever and he never did) - we receive a request for an additional round of documents that we could have easily provided the first time had he bothered asking. We finally gave up on him and Direct Mortgage Source when - 5 days after the loan should have closed and we had already signed closing documents - he comes up and asks for additional documentation. When we tried to clarify why he needed them and discuss whether or not to move forward with the existing loan, he just has never bothered calling or emailing either of us back - now nearly 5 days after his request. As a comparison, we contacted a different mortgage company yesterday and heard back within 30 minutes not just that they were interested, but with a better rate than he offered AND the document request. Awful experience for someone who *claims* to be a professional. read more

I have worked with Dave LaRose for re-financing, and my first mortgage if I remember correctly, a few times over the years. He is always great about answering questions promptly and often has better terms/rates than the banks. I never worry about things going wrong during the process.
