I also originally tried Direct Pain Relief through the 3 session Suburban Momma deal. The results of the sessions were so incredible that I immediately signed up for another package of 10 treatments. I have shoulder/neck issues from whiplash and they helped me more in just 3 treatments than I was helped going to physical therapy 3 times a week for a month! While it's true that there can be some discomfort with trigger point therapy, the therapists are very careful to work within each client's comfort zone . In my case, my muscles have been locked in this bad "muscle memory" for several years, so I don't expect to get them better without some effort on my part. So today I had the best direct pain relief session ever. I saw Jen while I was there. She's amazing, and really knows what she is doing. Jen knows how to make you relax, and feel comfortable. Highly, highly recommend Direct Pain Relief and Jen's neuromuscular massage techniques!! She is pleasant, listens to my concerns and most importantly, knows what she is doing very well!!! I went to Direct Pain Relief seeking help with chronic neck, shoulder and upper back pain. I have had chronic muscle pain for the last 9 years, simple resulting from extended sittings on the computer and research work. In the last 9 years I have tried all possible forms of treatment; hot patches, acupuncture, acupressure, deep tissue massages, physiotherapy, Chinese massage/herbal therapy and countless specialist appointments. No treatment helped, not even slightly. Fortunately, after just one session with Jen, I felt a noticeable difference in my neck and shoulders. They felt looser than ever, and I could sense the difference. It is important to note that this is also one of the most painful massages I have ever experienced; but the results are well worth it. Only for the strong! I never experienced a true trigger point massage, but I lucked out and saw a groupon so I had to check it out. I trucked all the way to this town and it was well worth it. I purchased 3 and have one more to go. The first massage therapist was beyond educational. She told me how to self treat myself, suggested a great book for trigger point release, and how to best manage myofascial pain overall. She knew the human body like a true expert. She hit spots I never had. It was indeed painful, but I haven't been able to drive home in such comfort in years. Unfortunately that therapist is no longer there, but I appreciate that a deal was offered to treat pain besides chiropractic care and acupuncture. It's not for everybody depending on what your needs are. Trigger point therapy is not cheap, but it's effective. I am confident with consistency with a great therapist and self care that one can find a great deal of pain relief. read more

I was recommended from a friend to try Direct Pain Relief when I had a some pain on my left shoulder and it was worth every penny. Norma and her crew are amazing. Sevie was my "master" and through trigger point massage worked out all my kinks and had me feeling amazing that day. The space is clean, nice environment with a super friendly staff. I found this little treasure via an email from my health insurance, which I initially ignored and then went back to. I have been suffering from chronic muscle pain (neck, shoulders and upper back) for about 7 years now. I have tried physical therapy, acupuncture, trigger point injections, medications, etc, and none have worked. I have tons of knots which are tender to the touch and cause referred pain (thank you Norma for the quick lesson on how our muscles work!). Nothing I tried helped me out long term until I found Norma and her team at Direct Pain Relief. I have been receiving treatment for a little over 6 months now and the fact that I continue to go back, on a weekly basis, speaks for itself. Everything I tried prior to finding Direct Pain Relief, only provided short term pain relief, and by short term I mean relief from pain for maybe 3 or 4 hours after leaving the facility. The treatment that Norma and Sevie provide is long lasting and effective. I can feel the muscles in my neck and back actually loosen up and STAY LOOSE, long after I've left. The treatment itself is somewhat painful, however, it is a welcomed pain knowing that I will be able to function long after I have left. I am so greatful that I found them and although my pain is not completely gone, I have a lot less pain now than I did when I first started my treatment. I am confident that with continued treatment and work on my part, Norma will get me back to what I was 7 years ago.
