I've tried this place out twice and haven't had a great experience. First of all, both times, they tried changing my appointment time multiple times after I booked it. If the masseuse is not available, the time slot should not be open in their first place. When I got there, the masseuse made a comment about having to wait for my appointment because otherwise she could have left early. Not exactly great customer service. Then, the next time I went there, the masseuse was clearly sick. Needless to say, I got sick right afterwards and I can only assume it was from the massage, which should have been cancelled if the masseuse was not feeling well. Not very relaxing. read more

I received a gift card through Spa Finder, so decided to try Perfectly Kneaded. Recently having a baby, my back was in terrible shape. Susan gave me an amazing therapeutic massage which was desperately needed! She applied the necessary pressure to help alleviate some of the pain I've carried around for the past 4 weeks. What appreciate most about the session was how considerate and warm Susan was. Understanding how bad my condition is, she gave me great tips for managing the pain at home through self-care. Matthew, the masseur to whom my appt was transferred unexpectedly (AFTER I had advised that I was fine w either a male or female therapist) is, well, the term "[expletive] magician" comes to mind. I sought help because I hurt myself running and wanted to try to hasten recovery, or at least reduce my pain, especially with Memorial Day races one week away. There weren't a lot of options in my area of northern Bergen County that would accommodate a Sunday appointment, but I found Perfectly Kneaded through a Groupon to: (1) have Sunday openings; (2) have online appt booking; (3) be within my price range, even without a Groupon discount; and (4) be worth a try. Thank you Groupon. Thank you Matthew. I'm very skeptical of Eastern or "alternative" so-called medical modalities, so the session wasn't off to a great start when Matthew used a pair of tuning forks to "reset" my nervous system. (His explanation). You'll note from the rating the extent to which this affected my overall experience. The remainder of a solid hour of bodywork involved a combination of massage, focused pressure (acupressure?) and limb manipulation. Some of it was painful but in a therapeutic manner, and Matthew was very careful to monitor my experience and communicate to make sure he was not being too dynamic. Wow. At the end, I felt and feel great. Wow. Matthew came across as compassionate, genuinely concerned for my well-being and, well, I can't think of how else to put this, generous of spirit. He clearly knows what he is doing and does what he knows. The myofascial release therapy he provided NAILED the pain that 13.1 miles of running had made a significant problem. He also offered some advice for self-help in the future. I enthusiastically and gratefully recommend Matthew and, by extension, Perfectly Kneaded for anyone who seeks relief from a musculoskeletal injury. read more

My absolute favorite place! I've been going here for several months to see Condra and I've never once been disappointed! She talks to me before every session to see what I want to focus on, makes sure that I'm comfortable and always asks how I feel after the massage! I cannot sing the praises of Perfectly Kneaded enough. They are a small business with all of the amenities you'd expect from large massage chains. Their rates, packages, and special offers are readily available on their website, and you can also easily book an appointment with them online. I greatly appreciate this convenience. Their newly renovated space is incredibly warm and welcoming, as are all the members of the staff, including the owner, Ellen (who is also one of the therapists who has worked on me). I work out a lot and have a pretty stressful job, so a good massage every couple of weeks is almost a necessity for me. I had a great experience here for the past year or so, but it looks like it was specific to one masseuse. after she left my experience was polar opposite. I had the worst massage ever last week. My neck is sprained from it, and she pinched my shoulders until I was in pain. I'm still in pain. I was made to pay for aromatherapy, ( which I had asked for) but the masseuse didn't know anything about aromatherapy and what each oils do, and didn't know how to use it either. I was never given a smell, and I have no idea if she even used it. Loud upbeat music was playing in the massaging room, clearly not suitable for massage, and I had to ask to first turn it down, and then asked to turn it off altogether. Her attitude was so bad, when I complained about the pain she made it seem like I shouldn't be in pain. I was also charged for my monthly membership after I complained about this massage and asked to cancel the membership. No one replied to my text or apologized either. you just lost a loyal customer who believes in supporting small local businesses! read more

Very disappointed. I called for an appointment for a couples massage and was told we may not be in the same room but we could come in at 10:00am on Friday and have a massage at the same time. Karen took my information and said if their was a problem she would call me. My husband and I showed up at 10:00am and there was an employee just finishing up with a client and looked confused as to why we were there. I told her we had an appointment and she asked us to sit down in the waiting area. She came back a few minutes later and said she was trying to get in touch with her boss because she said their was no appointment scheduled and no therapists there!!!! My husband and I had the day planned and they said they could try to get therapists to come in or we could reschedule. Reschedule!!!!
