Eric was such a blessing yesterday! After our double digit, sub zero temperatures, my 117 year old house found itself in a scary spot. My pipes froze and the expanding ice actually broke off a valve in addition to several other highly corroded and leaking areas. I called Eric at 7am and he was able to arrive around 1pm. My water heater needed to be replaced because it was probably manufactured when Bush Sr. was still in office and was on it's last leg (It ended up dying the day before install so good timing). I contacted Direct Plumbing Solutions for a quote through the Yelp app and the owner Eric contacted me immediately and scheduled a time for someone to come out the next day to give an estimate (mind you the water heater was still working at this time, I bet he could have had someone come out sooner if that was not the case.) Eric, the estimator, and installer Tom were able to coordinate scheduling and arrival via Yelp messaging or text messages, which is very important to me because I don't have a lot of availability for phone calls while working full-time, taking care of pregnant Wife, and nursing a dog recovering from knee surgery. Tom was the man! I asked him a lot of questions via text messages and he was very quick to respond, even later in the evening. I actually wasn't even present for the installation and instead had a family member at the house and they were quite impressed with him and Direct Plumbing that they ended up scheduling work for their house. When I got home that evening the new water heater was working like a champ and they didn't leave any mess behind. All in all it was a fantastic experience, and I would recommend Direct Plumbing Solutions to anyone. It just seems in Vancouver it's very hard to find honest and reputable contractors, but in DPS it looks like I finally found one. I can't say enough about the amazing staff at Direct Plumbing Solutions. We had water dripping from our second floor into our kitchen. Not only were they able to come out quickly but Weston really took the time to diagnose the problem before jumping right to having to cut into the ceiling to find the problem. Turns out it as an easy drain replacement fix and my ceiling didn't have to be cut into! He was very personable and made the whole visit smooth and let me know what was going on each step of the way. He even went as far as to FaceTime with my husband who was out of the country when all this happened to talk him through it as well. As if that wasn't enough our good friends had a water main break in front of their house and couldn't get a plumber out for 2 weeks after calling many in our area! After he left I noticed the toilet still leaking water but not as much . So we needed call him back for a second go ! At more bucks to the tune of $170 this second time. The total job now ended up a little more spendy than what we expected? But what's done is done and the job was adequate but I question if there was a need to divide this job into two parts as we ended up with more expense than expected. Awesome! We had a sink leak downstairs and an upstairs shower leaking through to the bottom floor. One hour fix! Amazing! Talked to Isaac about having a guy looked at a number of potential plumbing issues. Tyler came out and was a pleasant enough guy to talk too. He explained that potential tub and shower problems were going to be ok and proceeded to move onto the kitchen sink. He fixed it with some venting. He arrived at 8:30am and left at 9:05am. So around 1/2 an hour for work. When I called for a charge on the services it was $195. Pretty steep for 1/2 an hour of work. That comes out to $400 an hour (approximately). If Isaac had said there was going to be a $195 minimum I probably would have called around a bit more as I had a feeling it would only take an hour at most. This minimum was never raised when I called and maybe its standard for many plumbers but I think it should be discussed initially. read more

I don't do a lot of reviews...but I sure read them. Based on the previous reviewer's experience, I had Tyler come out to investigate a leak under the house...or so I thought. We pulled up the crawl space panel and there was at least 4" of standing water greeting us. This wasn't a job for a plumber. This was a job for a disaster restoration service. Although he didn't fix our problem, Tyler knew the water damage experts that would be best to handle it...gave us their contact info...and he didn't even charge us for his service call.
