From the first call the coordinator "Richard" has a demeanor that reassures with humor. We walked through my items to be taken on Face Time so accuracy was almost right on. Today Mike the foreman called identified when he would be there with his crew. Dave, Dave, Edwin & Mike were Fast , Efficient , Kind , Friendly with a sense of humor. I noted the care they took with my most coveted possessions as it was just part of their job! The job took only 2 hours . I will definitely use this business again should I get it in my head to move. ATTN: READ BEFORE USING THIS COMPANY Have had a really negative experience with this company. Hired them for a cross country move earlier this year. Movers came and picked up my belongings from my home. Everything seemed professional. The movers were nice. I felt confident that I had made the correct choice. I was extremely wrong. It's now 2 months later and I still do not have my belongings. They are still in the warehouse of this company and have not left Florida yet. I called several times and have been really let down by lack of progress, excuses, and horrible customer service. The warehouse manager told me to "come get" my belongings if I didn't like how long it was taking them to ship my items. Believe me, if I wasn't across the country, I would be there picking up everything, but that is simply not a realistic option. I signed a contract saying my items would be here in 30 days or less. Just honor what I signed. Stop telling me to just come get my belongings. My wife and I have had to buy all new work clothes and several other items due to the immense lateness and disregard for contractual obligations of this company. UPDATE: I still do not have my belongings! They have stopped responding to me. I fear they have stolen my goods or simply will not be shipping them! Will be seeking legal action for the services not rendered, the late fees they owe us as well as payment for all of the work clothes and household items my wife and I had to buy due to our belongings not being delivered. I am an attorney, and I moved from GA to CA. I received zero communication from the company after they picked up all of my furnishings. They had a 30-day window to deliver. However, the 30-day window has now passed and no furniture. I escalated my displeasure to management, and he told me that there were "issues in my delivery area." After continuing to press the issue, I was advised that my things had finally left the warehouse (which they would not tell me where that was located) and that I should hear from the driver within 2-5 days. The five days came and went and still no word from the driver. Avoid this company at all costs. Extremely poor customer service. I am preparing to file a breach of contract lawsuit. read more

I had a very mixed experience with Direct Relocation Services. To start, the experience was very good. The sales rep at Direct Relocation Services (DRS after this point) walked me through the process and offered me a very competitive quote for moving my belongings. Typically, I was told, the move window was between 2 and 14 business days from my first available date. In the days leading up to my move, I did make some changes, added some additional belongings to my bill of lading, and had a sense of what the price was going to be in the end. The cost did go up with the additional items added, but I thought I had a pretty firm figure in mind. The problems started in the days leading up to my move. My move was scheduled for the busy season (a late June/early July pickup). I was initially told my belongings would be picked up on June 30th. That fit my moving timeline perfectly, and provided me plenty of time for travel to my new home state. Just before June 30th--my memory is hazy, but I believe it was June 29th--I was informed that the movers were running late. Running late then became a recurring theme in this process. Eventually--five days after my initial agreed upon date--my belongings were picked up. The actual pick-up went well. The movers were professional and courteous and quickly and efficiently loaded the truck. The problem, though, came when I signed the contract. My belongings did not fit the initial square footage that I was quoted, and the cost went up substantially (between 15% and 20% of the previously quoted total cost, I believe). This was also the first time I heard about long carry and stairs charges. Here, my advice to anyone considering DRS is to ask for a copy of the standard contract early, to review it carefully, and to have a very good sense of what the additional charges are going to look like with regards to your move. Once my belongings were picked up, I proceeded to drive to my new state and to start my new job. My move-in date on my new apartment came and went, and I spoke with the logistics department at DRS. I was again told that the norm was 2 to 14 business days from first available date. 14 business days passed and I contacted DRS again (I settled into a once-a-week contact schedule between phone and email). My belongings were eventually delivered, but it was closer to 25 business days when they finally arrived. Here, again, I will encourage folks to read the contract closely and to see if you can negotiate a more reasonable timeframe. The typical industry standard is 14 business days-ish. The absolute longest it should be within the industry is 21. DRS does not pay a per diem until after 30 business days. The movers that delivered my belongings were also professional, but there are what I have learned are some red flags here, as well. They needed payment via postal money order or cash on delivering goods BEFORE I had a chance to see them and assess their condition. This is also not an industry standard, as I have learned. Once my goods were delivered, I discovered some additional problems. The boxes were stored in Florida while I moved, and bugs are a common problem in Florida. Several of my boxes made very nice homes for bugs in the storage facility. My couch also had bug eggs laid in it--which caused me to get rid of my couch at an additional cost to myself. My advice here: find a better way to wrap and protect your furniture to ensure that it will be bug free on delivery. DRS is not going to do this for you. Overall, my experience was very poor. I felt misled and lied to several times in the process. The cost was about twice what I was originally expecting when all was said and done. Delivery dates were constantly pushed back, pick-up dates were also pushed around. If you do use DRS as your mover, please go in with open eyes and ask the questions to start that I did not. read more

Avoid being lied to If you are pressed for time, desperate to move, or relocating because of your job, working as a first responder, etc, avoid using this company. Direct Relocation is not the company for you. I scheduled to have them move my one-bedroom, one-bath apartment five months in advance from California to Texas, calling on three different occasions to notify them of the various content changes I made before the actual move. I spoke with Kristin on three separate occasions; she informed me that Richard would call me three days before the move-out date and notify him of all changes made. Well, I did, and the price almost doubled. The discounts that were applied no longer applied. The truck size increased although I removed all of the large items. I decided not to take them. How could this be? Richard said I should have notified him earlier. I was furious and spoke with Andrew. After hearing my side of the story, Andrew sent me an email that stated I should get a refund. All monies will be refunded to my account(s). He said I should be refunded within 2-21 business days. I have not been refunded. It has been 30+ days, 5 calls, and two emails, and nothing. I am being ignored and disrespected. It appears I have lost 1200 dollars and no service rendered. Please avoid deception, disrespect, and lies. August 29th I booked this company's service to move from Georgia to Texas.Jorde assured me pick up would be on September 5th,which was the only reason I chose them as I wanted a precise pick up date and not a range.Well I paid my deposit and waited.On the 4th still no call from dispatch until I reached out to Jorde.Dispatch called my minutes later and surprise surprise they scheduled my pick up for the 6th instead of the 5th, between 12pm and 6pm,saying the driver will call me an hour before.At this point I was angry but let it go.On the 6th, I called Jorde in the morning and he assured me my stuffs would be picked up that day.5:50 PM still no calls and of course their office was already closed !Then around 6 PM the driver called,asking if I had been informed that his truck broke down,insisting he told the admin early enough for them to look for someone else.He then told me he could do the work on the 7th at noon. I told him that I would be gone by then. I was trapped and out of options.Long story short he said he will come do the work at 7 am and be done by 9 am so I have time to clean the apartment and catch my flight.Well,he showed up with another man at 7:40, and was not done until 11 am despite the fact that my husband helped them to make things go faster. At this point,my family and i had missed our flight ($1000+),missed the time to return our rental car, time to checkout of the apartment, time to arrive to texas before the leasing office of the new place closes etc...We had to book new flight tickets to another city and get a rental car to our destination then hotel rooms. I contacted Direct Relocation Services on 5/11/2023 for a quote on a move from Bradenton, FL to Denver, CO. This company was one of many who contacted me after filling out an online moving form. I spoke with Jorde about the specifics of my move. He provided me with their DOT number so I could verify that they are a carrier. This gave me the peace of mind that they were a carrier and not a broker. I requested that my belongings be picked up between 30th and 31st for a delivery on June 12th. Jorde said that a pick-up on June 1st-2nd would be better for a delivery on June 13th-14th. I agreed to this change feeling that I would have my belongings on time after I moved to Denver. I was also told that my belongings would be in storage for a few days before the move. It was NOT disclosed to me that my belongings would be removed from the truck, placed in their warehouse, and me loaded onto another truck for delivery. Everything went wrong on June 1st. The movers called and said that they could not make June 1st-2nd. They wanted to reschedule for June 3rd. I was not available that day so I requested June 4th. I was told that they would call me with an arrival time. I received no call. I called them to verify pick up and they said they could not make June 4th. I e-mailed Jorde about my concerns which was left unanswered. The pickup was rescheduled for June 5th. They finally arrive on June 5th and readjust my quote. June 23rd (9th business day): I call to find out where my belongings were. Maria reiterated that they had 2-21 business days. I was now informed that the "First Available Delivery Date" is not what it means. It means "the first day we will even think about moving your belongings". This was NOT explained to me before signing the contract. June 30th (14th business day): I call again. It took multiple phone calls to get through to someone about my move. Maria reiterated the 2-21 business days and told me that they would be working on the Colorado route next week. July 7th (18th business day): I call again. I cannot get through to anyone. Maria does not answer. Taylor does not answer. I eventually speak with Andrew. He told me that the Colorado truck was ready. He was looking right at it. They just needed a driver. He told me that it would leave in 1-2 days and to call back later for an update. I mentioned that the 21st business day is approaching and wanted to talk compensation. He assured me my belongings would be leaving soon and we can talk compensation later. July 11th (20th business day): I call again. I speak with Andrew. There was an issue with the driver so the Colorado route ahs not left yet. He admitted to eating his words. They were working on the issue to have the Colorado route move out ASAP. July 14th (23rd business day). THEY ARE LATE. 2-21 business days have passed. I call. All I get is "The contract says we have 30 BUSINES DAYS". July 17th (24th business day). I call again. I get the run around. Andrew now denies saying anything. They have 30 business days. I am only owed $30/business day after the 30th business day. Taylor claims that they are working on it. This company has been "working on it" for weeks now. I was not offered anything. No sympathy. My belongings are not on a truck. It takes four days to get to Colorado. I do not have my hopes up that it will make it on the 30th business day (scheduled for June 25th). Taylor even accused me of making "threats" because I said I was going to the Better Business Bureau. Not a good experience. While the packing crew did a good job on many items, they only wrapped an expensive crystal chandelier in a blanket and as a result it was destroyed. No mention was ever made about them needing to confirm approval to ship after the items were picked up. When asked about status, they said items were still in the warehouse because they couldn't reach us to confirm shipment. Why would we contract with them if we didn't want to ship??? They also incorrectly stated they tried to contract me, and my phone logs prove that never happened. On delivery they wanted a signature stating all items were received in good condition but wouldn't open the truck or allow us to see that was the case before they received payment! How could we say everything was good before being allowed to take a look?? The contract specified an additional charge for flights of stairs and the team lead who picked up the items confirmed there would be no charge if an elevator was available. Mr. Duffek insisted there was a charge regardless, saying the contract shows that. He's wrong as there is no mention of a charge for use of an elevator, only for carrying up stairs. Charging $75 per floor whether an elevator or stairs are used is ridiculous. If you live in an apartment with an elevator and there is more than one flight of 7 stairs, be aware you will be told to pay $75 per floor. This is clearly not a legally supportable position and be aware that if you live in an upper-level apartment, you'll be told after you sign the contract and they pick up your goods, you will owe hundreds of dollars more than what you thought when you signed the contract. read more

I honestly don't even know where to begin. The movers I used in my last 2 moves were fantastic, but they were booked for the dates I needed to move. The initial contact with Direct Relocation Svcs., was great. Michelle was very friendly, helpful and they were coming in much lower than anyone else... that should've been my first red flag... so I decided to go with them. Once my estimate was done, I scheduled the moving date. That's when everything started to change. Moving day came and the movers were very unprofessional. They were dirty, they were not happy I made them wear masks, one of them didn't even have a mask, so he was in the truck. The lead guy said there was an issue with pricing and charged me about $500 more than the initial price I was given. By the time they finished loading the truck their estimate wasn't right either (go figure), so it jacked up the price even more. They told me they could deliver between the 31st and the 14th. I got a call saying they'd be here on the 2nd. Great! Then they said the truck broke down and had to get a new one... it never showed up. I called them, they didn't return my calls. I finally got in touch with them, and they said it would be the12th... NOPE! Another round of trying to call them, without any response. When I FINALLY got ahold of someone, they said nobody told me they'd have it here on those dates. Basically called me a liar. They told me they'd be here on the 14th, that didn't happen either. They finally delivered my things on the 19th!That's 20 DAYS LATER! I had to work the day they delivered my son came over to supervise. When they got to my house, they were shorthanded and asked my son to help them move!! They needed help bringing in the furniture!! Stay as far away from this company as you can. I was forced to pay in full for the first delivery, of which I left work for, just to find out half of my shipment had been left in their warehouse in another state. It then took 3 more weeks to get the "remainder" of my things, and I am still missing furniture and other items. The sales people including Eric, Maria and Richard did great job communicating and updating me and were very responsive. The people who loaded up the furnitures unfortunately were non professional and didn't protect my items as things were explained to me( didn't wrap anything and no matters cover as i was informed) . The furnitures then stayed for sometime at a storage related to the company. Arrived dirty and scratched as it wasn't protected / wrapped!! The reason I am giving a good review is for the delivery people, The delivery crew (Joe, Anthony and Robert) , did an amazing job with professionalism and care and worked with me and my apartment building to deliver everything smoothly and with special care. They even tried to fix problems created by the careless pick up team. I wish they were the ones who came picked my furnitures as well! The pickup went okay, although, they couldn't even get that perfectly - they were a day late without much notice. Then, let me tell you about the receipt of our things. They were OVER A MONTH LATE, even from the latest date they said was possible. We gave them our things June 27th, we didn't get them until September 7th. Can you imagine living without all your things for over 2 months? We would call them, and they wouldn't tell us anything. They agreed to knock off some of the price, as they should, but let me tell you what happens next....... Finally, they show up with one driver who is rude and frustrated. We get our things in, and low and behold, they're missing the absolute worst thing in the whole shipment: my large jewelry box. I call them about it. They don't care. They pawn me off on some arbitration company that sends me in circles asking for documents about how much the stuff is worth, only to offer a weight based calculation of $30.00 after all is said and done. Oh, any by the way, you have to print off, sign a form, and have it notarized, hardly even worth the $30.00, right? This had my wedding jewelry in there. They didn't care. Long story short....this company is every customers worst nightmare. From the beginning, every single thing we were told was an absolute lie. You would be better off getting a U-Haul and doing it yourself. Long story... they painted a perfect picture of what the move would look like, they would pick up our stuff and it would be delivered to our new place within in 5 days by Joy (sales). Come 5 days, our stuff is not there, we were given another quote of 2-14 BUSINESS day delivery window by Maria (logistics). Come business day 14, we are told that moves to this area typically take up to 21 business days by Taylor (customer service). 21 business days pass, and we are now told it could take up to 30 business days for the move by Maria. We are only getting this updates because we are calling the company daily, not because they had the decency to call us and give us updates. There were multiple phone calls where the company did not answer, and voicemails were not returned. Because we were told 5 days, we were prepared for our stuff to be there in 5 days, and had even packed a little extra. However, we had a business trip the following week, which meant none of our business clothes were delivered. We ended up spending over $600 to be able to have clothes for this trip, all of which could have been avoided had anyone in the company just been honest with us. Additionally, we have not been reimbursed for anything (inconveniences, extra costs, being lied to) because they don't do that until 30 days is up. The logistics of where our stuff was was also never shared with us. When the movers picked up (Georgia) they said that the truck was going to Florida which was confusing, but we did not think much of it. On business day 25, direct relocation contracted a mover who picked up our stuff in Norcross, Georgia. Luckily our stuff was finally delivered today (on business day 26). *Note: My name was not listed on the bill of lading, because my boyfriend was the lead contact. You just tell them the items you have, they "estimate" the cubic feet, then give you a price. Sign right on the dotted line, give them a deposit, and set a move date! I give them an A+ on their sales team for being so convincing when they are selling you a false reality. It was a steep down hill from there. And those guys immediately start giving you a hard time and upcharging you. My initial quote of ~3k doubled to ~6k because they "needed way more space for all my stuff". Take a look at the photo of how they packed my items, so obviously a scam. Over the phone - verified that stairs inside your apartment are free yet they charged me $525 for stairs when even IF I was to be charged for stairs, based on their contract it should have only been $310. They were still able to park right out front and charged $225 for "Long Carry", $75 for each 50 feet they need to "walk". (photo attached of their parking spot a few steps away). Complete Nightmare but my stuff gets picked up. "To be safe we give an estimate of 2-3 weeks for your items to arrive". Yet my items took a full month to come, barely got any updates, no one there knows where any of the items are and then they make something up for why the items are late. Items arrive, another $400 charge for "shuttle service" to move the items from large truck to small truck, never heard this in my initial quote or at any time during the moving process until the day before my movers are to arrive and for you to get your item you need to pay your remaining balance in CASH. Two more guys show up in an unmarked van, they don't work for the company. Their mantra is they'll just show up and reassemble everything as it was, instead they come in push the boxes in the corner, then leave. Not to mention they completely destroyed my $600 bed frame but I'll get to that. My GoPro is also now conveniently missing. As I slowly get to opening my boxes, you begin to realize that everything is just thrown into boxes nonchalantly . I paid extra to move multiple paintings and they were just stuffed into boxes, scuffing all the frames. As mentioned before, there were boxes that only held 1 or 2 items, mostly so they can increase the prices and make it seem like they packed more items. I then call to file a claim for my broken head board and missing GoPro, few days go by with no response. Call again and they say I need to e-mail them photos and they will file a claim. 2 weeks go by, 10 business days, and I call again and send 2 emails. Finally I receive multiple e-mails from multiple people (with differing information to why it took so long of course) letting me know that I need to submit claim paperwork with "Moving Claim Services" who is a "third party claims service company". The guys that moved me went way above and beyond. I moved from Miami to Sunrise last week and it was nice to have at least one thing go stress free. They were on time, accommodated some last minute requests, were friendly, professional, and made this portion of the move easy. The biggest thing for me was that at the end of the day nothing was damaged and everything made it to its destination with time to spare. When first hired and the movers came to the Florida house, I was so impressed with the way they worked, attitude, and care. Little did I know that they are basically a consignment moving company. it was supposed to be delivered to NH on June 13th, never got here until the 18th. They were suppose to be here at 11 a.m., They arrived at 7 p.m. , with a 53' mayflower moving truck, with my goods. my items took up about 10% of that space, ridiculous. I had every box marked fragile and this end up. Well, one important box, I could tell they never read any of the signs. A once in a lifetime pictureof my mother and me was destroyed, and she has since passed away. A box I opened just put me in hysterically into tears. The box was CRUSHED and when I opened it, it put me in a further state of crying that wouldn't stop. ZERO REVIEWS!!!!! RUN!!!!!! I was given three different estimates by this company. The original estimate started at 3400 and went to 4400 and the final estimate was raised $1000 equaling a grand total of $5500. All three were not my fault but the fault of the employees who clearly did not know what they were doing! My delivery was not a full-service delivery and involved my son assisting due to the driver not having any help!! Seriously!! I also realized that one of my bins was not taped closed and a pair of expensive sneakers are missing! My items were mislabeled, and furniture pieces were scrapped and damaged. I was charged $5522 for this despicable service and the director did not even try to return multiple phone calls and messages I left. Oh wait, after leaving a BBB review he suddenly thought to call me back acting as though he NEVER knew I called and still did nothing to remedy the situation but instead spent time accusing me of listing erroneous information all the while not proving to me how I WAS WRONG! I did not reach out regarding the delivery and damaged items given DRS not returning calls or properly communicating about previous complaints!! All of a sudden you care, Andrew?? I was hustled and taken advantage of and I want my final payment of $2000 back for all items not being reassembled, for bad service, bins being improperly stacked and cracked, my artwork hanging out of the straps, a missing pair of shoes, and lack of quality service, communication, delivery, and making me sign and hand over $2000 in cash to have my items unloaded off the truck!! THEY STOOD ME UP ON THE DAY OF MY MOVE! MOST UNPROFESSIONAL TEAM I'VE EVER ENCOUNTERED. I am moving from Palo Alto to Miami and shopped around for quotes and eventually went with the more expensive offer of Direct Relocation Services. We signed a contract, scheduled for a day they suggested. I paid the deposit (over $2000) and was told that they will call me 48 hours in advance to let me know the exact time. A day before I was emailing and calling to inform them I havent received the specific time. The morning of the move I kept calling my representative, Richard and Will who I originally spoke with. They kept sending me to voicemail. Only at 11:30am they sent a woman to call me to say that, unfortunately, they do not have trucks so they are not coming today. I have my flight booked, cleaners, etc and they just stood me up without even having the decency to pick up the phone when I called earlier this morning. Shame on them. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Incompetent beyond belief. Horrible communication and execution of delivery. My stuff has still not arrived more than two weeks past the original targeted moving date, and I have no indication that it is arriving soon. Even my most conflict-averse friends, family and colleagues think I deserve my money back. Just moved from Gainesville, FL to Baltimore, MD. My stuff is still being held hostage with 0 explanation or update on their part -- only updates I get are when I call, and I wouldn't exactly call them insightful updates, just "yeah maybe it'll come this week." They said they would pick my stuff up on a Saturday between 12pm and 6pm and then didn't let me know that they had to reschedule until 7:30pm that day, so then I had to rearrange my workday on Monday to accommodate them when they gave me another 12pm to 6pm window. But then the driver didn't arrive until 8pm that night. Movers themselves were professional (and seemed overwhelmed) but the dispatching and customer service has been atrocious. It's 2 weeks past my initial delivery date and I have 0 idea if my stuff is going to arrive anytime soon. My guess after reading some of these other reviews: The positive reviews you find online are largely bots and / or written by staffers. Please do not use this company ... I'm willing to shared my paperwork with anyone who is interested. They will scam you , overcharge you, try to pin their mistakes on you and have the worst customer service and conflict/resolution department I've ever come across in my entire life. Have you ever had anyone YELL at you for their mistake? If you don't want that experience stay far away from this company. I'm currently waiting on my things to get here on a day a did not pick so if anything is damaged I will update my review and add those pictures but without even having stuff in place they have already made my move a total nightmare. SAME DAY UPDATE- they just called and yelled at me for this one star review and wanted me to let everyone know they offered to rectify my nightmare move by paying up to $350 dollars of movers to come back at a later date after severely inconveniencing us. I do admit I left that out of my original review because we've had to take off work today and have already lost more than $350 dollars to accommodate them, but i settled for that to get my stuff - not like the other poor people in these reviews who haven't even received their things. He also continued to blame the mistake on my daughter, citing paperwork I have yet to receive a copy of. AND just to show their true character ... they've now rescinded that offer of paying for movers at a later date because of my review :) so there you go ... that's a perfect example of the kind of company you're dealing with if you decide to go with them. To this second I still have not received a copy of the BOL he references in his response and my contract that I signed does not have my daughter's name on it anywhere -- so even if she did make these changes he's referencing... If they worked as hard doing correct moves and finessing their customer service as they do combating the bad reviews and arguing with you on the phone; they might have a decent company ... but this has been a joke. As I'm talking to the delivery guys tonight they told me our stuff was picked up at a warehouse. All day when I was being forced to acquire my things on a date before I was ready I was told they were doing me a FAVOR because they didn't have to take my things off the truck once it was loaded which reduced risk of damage - LIES! I will tell you once the aforementioned "paperwork" showed up ... the date of 11/27 was handwritten in :) So what's happened here is they piggy backed on a shipment that was headed this way in a way / time that was cheaper for them and severely inconvenienced their customer and they don't give a flying flip about it! Also the people who are delivering our things are not employees of Direct Relocation Services and all I've been told by their staff is that they use their own guys, own equipment and are not brokers. They initially stated 2-14 days for a move from FL to ME. That changed to within 30 days. It's now past the 30 business days and still nothing. I keep hearing excuses but zero results. On top of that don't believe the original quote. Mine doubled after loading. I'm still waiting. All the communication has been initiated by me. People I talk to think I'm getting the short end of the stick and they may be right. If you're moving definitely find a more reliable service that has more then 3 trucks. I've asked for compensation from the final bill. They seem to ignore the fact that its customers are people too and going with out your things for a month and half is not acceptable in anyone's world. read more

NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!!! Almost 6 weeks out, and our belongings have not even left our original state. First we got yelled at because we could not take delivery 10 days before closing on our home (which was the original delivery date we gave). They pulled fine print out of our contract to say they more time to delivery our items to us. I asked for simple updates twice, before I was told not to contact them again - basically "don't call us, we will let you know when we have an update". Management (Andrew in particular) has been worse to deal with than staff and flat out will not even acknowledge my requests for updates. They claim we added items to the order at pick up, and charged us over $2000 more than the quote, despite my being very specific in the sizes of items. Also of note is the fact that I was told they are NOT a middle man, however, there is an entirely different company that picked up and is in possession of our belongings. Based on the additional investigation I have been doing, this seems like a common nightmare with this company. I have never had such poor service or communication from any service provider in any industry. My initial contact with sales was fabulous - I thought this would be the best moving experience we've had, but it went immediately downhill the moment my money was received and I asked for an update. I don't anticipate that my family will receive our belongings, and if we do, I am fairly certain that they will not be in good repair based on the retaliation that seems to be common against anyone speaking out about their experiences. At this point, I wish I had gone with a big name mover that cost more... at least those companies understand that taking care of their customers is number one. read more

***Update based on owner response below*** Sorry Diego, but Direct Relocation Services in Sunrise Florida. You are the mover I used. The contract is in my mother's name. I did not get it wrong. See my pictures of contract and correspondence from your company. DON'T BE FOOLED BY THEIR EMPTY PROMISES! On their website they say "What's more, with us, our word is our bond. There's nothing worse than booking a moving company and having them not arriving on time. That's something that we'll never do to you. For instance, when we book jobs, we always leave a cushion to allow for unplanned overruns." Well our furniture and boxes arrived over a week later than promised. After being assured of our delivery date by multiple staff along the way and receiving a confirmation email of our delivery window, we booked flights, hotels, car rentals, etc for our move across the country. They didn't even call us to tell us when our delivery was going to be delayed. We had to call to find out why our items had not arrived. THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY NOT CUSTOMERS! When I called begging them to find a way to deliver our items sooner so I could help my 80 year old mother unpack and get settled in her nursing home before I had to return to my hometown and leave her, they could only offer me a lecture in how their business model works and why our move was insignificant to their profits. READ THE FINE PRINT! They charge a fee for using the elevator and for distance from truck to door. This ended up adding $500 to our bill. They won't even start unloading the truck until they have the cash, holding our items hostage even though they were in breach of contract by not making our delivery with in the 21 day window. read more

DO NOT USE DIRECT RELOCATION IF YOU VALUE YOUR BELONGINGS! I read the glowing reviews of this company, and contracted with them for my interstate move from Florida to North Carolina. It appears that most of the good reviews were for local moves, not interstate. As I was a moving novice, I learned all the things I would do differently when dealing with moving companies. This company is up there with all the horror stories you read. I could go on for 3 pages of all the things that went wrong. Some problems could be chalked up to "things happen", however, the areas they could control, they did nothing to ease the stress of the move. I preface this by stating that the owner of the company, Diego, personally came to our home and assured my husband and myself that his company would do everything to ease the stress of moving, and when specifically asked, stated that he personally would take care of damages if they should occur. These are some of the things that occurred: Pick up was fine, but they kept on pushing up the date of delivery kept on moving up until it was 2 weeks after the pickup. We were told delivery would be between 1pm and 3pm. They started to unload at 8 pm, and was still unpacking at midnight. At time of delivery, we knew that an expensive electric fireplace ($1200) that inserted into our media center was missing. We were told at the time of delivery, that the box was in the warehouse, and would be delivered to us on the next truck to NC. Three weeks later, we were told that the box was destroyed, and to file a claim with Moving Claims. Weeks went by, and as we unpacked, we realized that other boxes were missing. All our dishes, pots and pans, and sentimental things that we had collected over thirty years. They did reimburse us for dishes and the pots. Communication was very poor. They wouldn't call when they said they would, and then a manager (Andrew) said that I call too much. We paid to replace the fireplace, and we're not reimbursed the money. We filed our claim with Moving Claims, and a few days ago finally received the settlement offer, $50!!!!!!! This has been going on since the end of July. I appealed, and today, they offered $80 as the FINAL settlement. Hope this review will help you in choosing a mover. read more

Follow Up Evidently when you use this company if you don't buy additional insurance over (.60) standard which I guess I didn't because I was in an emergency issue that's my fault; but here's the kicker if you don't you waive and I assume it's in there form so I have to go back and look at my contract that if their employees direct relocation employees damage any part of your housing from interior exterior whatever fixtures light fixtures walls banisters etc. they are not responsible Even if their employee drops something into the wall In front of your spouse and damages it or nicks it or scrapes it so all in all do not use this company ever so of course now I have to get an attorney involved which is going to be out of pocket expenses so either way I got screwed and if you do try to file a claim arbitration bs it is some far-fetched bullshit that you have to go through it's long drawn out process they want pictures paperwork blasé blasé instead of getting straight to the point yeah my employees messed up will take care of it you have to go around bend over backwards to get your stuff taken care of and then they tell you oh it's not gonna cost us it's not gonna cost that when I've got quotes two quotes from a company to fix all my damage from low end contractors I did not go five star contractors It mediocre so my house is fixed and I'm told oh don't go through those those contractors don't pay $5000 to fix your damages; I can clearly see in the pictures that you sent that that's not $5000 worth of damage so there again I'm told that a banisters $40 the one that I was quoted for the exact same one that is in my home that they damaged is roughly $600 installed not 40 and months ago they told me they would give me $50 to do a patch job for the paint damage and that's more than 50 freaking dollars it's over a couple hundred dollars then the scratching the floor is a couple hundred dollars just for the materials not including labor! Claim and if you file one you have to go through some mumbo-jumbo BS they are wanting exact dollar amounts when you bought it how much you paid for it and stuff I have a piano from the 1970s that's an antique almost! how are we supposed to know what they handed down in a Will! And of course they don't give you face value for anything prob normal and understandable but want to give you way less than what you should be compensated for! And you get No where with will call him " A" but the freaking run around! and when you want to talk to someone else "thier conviently not there " , so of course it's my fault for not looking further into this company which there is mixed reviews but some are almost the exact same! Your website says "if we say we'll be there at 8, you can set your watch to it." That is not my experience. Working with Direct Location Services was without a doubt the worst customer service experience I've ever had. I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy. They showed blatant disregard for my time by showing up three days late. They neglected to communicate where they were or when they planned to arrive. Even after showing up late, they did not apologize. Furthermore, the driver had the audacity to complain about us "making him get up too early" when he was days late. They did not stick to the moving estimate and wasted no opportunity to up-charge me. They were not forthcoming with information regarding my move. We had to track down customer service representatives for information on where and when my items would be delivered. They adjusted our contract after the fact, without telling us. They lost multiple items and lied to me and said they were "looking for it" when they absolutely were not. I moved in with my parents for a while and recently moved again into my own place. While unpacking, I discovered that your moving company lost and broke even more of my items. You lost a kitchen table, an entire box of kitchen utensils, curtains, a shower curtain, a nightstand and broke two plates. That is not reliable or excellent service. When I called to express these frustrations, Maria didn't even apologize. This company told us they would take my items directly to the new location, but instead held my items hostage in their rotting, stodgy rathole of a warehouse for months on end. Pretty sure this business is a scam. Worst moving company ever. You claim to be an excellent moving company, but your service for my move was egregious. You lied, you cheated and you should be held accountable. I don't want any other customers to have this experience. read more
