Jellyfish Lighting failed to deliver professional installation or follow-through, despite being…read morepaid approximately $9,000. Our installation on November 23rd was handled by a worker who spoke no English, took eight hours, and did not finish the job. Another installer had to return to finish up. Days later, I discovered a man-sized hole had been cut into my attic's foam insulation and left unrepaired, along with a significant mess. (Images provided.) Wires in the attic were draped across and served as a hazard -- they should have been anchored. Other issues include gaps in the track and between the track and the siding on the house. Not to mention the handful of screws we found on the driveway and would have flattened our tire if we drove over them. Sloppy workmanship all the way around. I contacted company representatives Ryan Bartholomew, and he in turn contacted Brice (the owner). Both gentlemen inspected and acknowledged the damage and poor workmanship. I was told the installer was fired due to previous issues--raising serious concerns about quality control and judgment in sending him to my home. Repairs were delayed for weeks because Jellyfish was in their busy season and didn't prioritize fixing the problem that they created. They were not proactive in making contact and I was the one having to make the calls to remind them that this still needs to be completed. When workers finally returned, the insulation "repair" was absurd: insulation fragments glued together with a half can of spray foam, then concealed with mesh. I was told a "draft wouldn't go through," which completely misunderstands the purpose of insulation. Eight to ten inches of insulation remained missing throughout this man size hole - but this worker thought concealing with a mesh would be sufficient. It was deceptive and pathetic work. Further visits were equally disorganized. One technician arrived without proper tools or materials, had to leave to rent equipment, and could only partially fix the damage. The insulation was repaired but additional screw holes in the eaves had been created by other workers and were left unrepaired due to lack of caulk and matching paint. I reached out again to Ryan and was told that he was on vacation and so Brice would come by on January 2nd, after 1 PM. No one showed. No one called. Absolutely zero follow-up on behalf of the company. Five times I had rearranged my work day to accommodate for appointments with Jellyfish. Weeks (currently 8) after full payment, the job is still not properly completed. Communication has been poor, preparation nonexistent, and accountability absent. This company may sell an attractive product, but when installation goes wrong--as it did here--they fail to take responsibility or see the job through. I would not recommend Jellyfish Lighting to anyone who expects professionalism, quality workmanship, or reliable customer service. i recognize that many more things 'could' have gone wrong with dealing with this company. But that is not the measure of a company's character. They should have done more to fix the problems created by their employees in a timely and professional manner. Mistakes may happen but a measure of a company's character is whether or not they take care of it -- This company failed in doing so.

Yesterday, 2/11/25, Mike from Starry Night Lights came to address the issues. He, as I understand is also a dealer for Everlights. I had two issues he fixed the first issue real quick, but then I asked him to look at why a single LED build was showing the wrong color. This open a whole can of worms for him. He arrived here at around lunch time, he was here until 6:30, but he found more buld problems, and got them all resolved and working. We installed an island hood vent in the middle of my kitchen and the two existing (incredibly-lovely, but large) pendant lights no longer went with the sleek new look of the brushed stainless hood vent. I knew I wanted something more special than just a Big Box lighting solution, and was willing to pay what it took to find just the right look. So I spent hours (and hours!) on the internet, trying to find something I liked that would go with the hood vent AND the rest of my decor. I even got my husband to look... a lot of internet time spent, but nothing jumped out. On a whim, I took photos of my kitchen situation and trotted over to Meletio to see what they could suggest. The receptionist was lovely and immediately asked me what I needed. Overwhelmed by the unique fixtures in the showroom, I decided to browse a bit, to see if I could find something on my own. Wow. What fun lighting! And at all price points... something for everyone, if you will. Anyway, I settled on some creative canned lighting and waited at the back desk for help. In fairness, all the guys there were busy... so I decided to toddle back over to the decorative lighting and ask for help. I asked the receptionist for a lighting consultant who might have some suggestions for my kitchen. She introduced me to Jessica Almany. Boy, was I lucky!! Jessica listened carefully as I described what I was looking for, showed her the canned lighting I thought might work, and went over the pictures of my kitchen and adjoining room on my phone. Then Jessica went to work... This is the reason why I am taking the time to write this review: Out of the (literally) thousands of possible lighting solutions/fixtures, Jessica nailed it on the very first one she pulled up on her computer. And best yet, it wasn't one I would have thought of... but looking at her suggestion, I thought "of course! That's perfect!!" What are the chances of that happening? Even better yet, it was much, much less $$ than what I thought I would have to spend. The two pendant lights Jessica suggested have been ordered, picked up, and installed. They honestly look better than I could have either envisioned or hoped for. Jessica, my dear, you have a true gift... had I known, you could have saved me hours and hours from a multi-day but fruitless internet search. Oh, and Jessica was very helpful and creative on a number of other lighting and electrical issues I need solved around the house (like what kind of additional electrical outlets would work in the kitchen). Apparently, Jessica works with a number of the home builders around town, so she is very up on new trends and technology. I'm absolutely excited to bring my clients back. The wood wall vignette was my favorite. Everything in it was gorgeous. He works out of his home. He repaired a beloved 30 year old lamp I have used at my piano since I was around age 30, and then he also fixed back up a late 1950s lamp I bought at an estate sale that needed some updating and minor fixing. Both work great! I brought them back home and sent him photos with the shades on them so he could see how they looked in my house. He charged $45 for the one and $65 for the other and I think that was a very fair price. He does the work well and meticulously so don't expect it back in minutes. Quality and expert repairs are not something that are common today, and I'm willing to pay a good price for someone who knows what he is doing. And clearly loves what he does. He will invite you to sit and chat for awhile if you have the time. Take him your business, you won't be sorry!
