I've had DirectTV for about five years or so. They have been great. When we had a box go out they overtightened me a new one with no questions asked. I have the protection plan and it is definitely worth it. The technicians have always been clean and professional. I moved and had to take DirectTV with me. Would not trade it for any of the other options out there. Only complaint is that they don't carry TheBlazeTv. Hopefully they stop giving in to the politics soon and decide to add this to their channels. Overall I have been extremely pleased with DirectTV and would recommend it. read more

Ridiculously expensive and has added fees on top of base price. Raised my price during a locked-in promotional period and also has cancellation fees. Can't just cancel online either, have to call or chat with a rep and sit through sales pitch to cancel service. After raising my rates, all they offered was $20 off for 1 month. Direct TV is a charlatan. I scheduled Direct TV through AT&T late January. I was told how wonderful my pricing of $80 monthly would be. I called AT&T within 2 weeks and cancelled both services because it wasn't working and I was billed over $160 by Direct TV. AT&T cancelled but Direct TV kept on billing me. I got the equipment late, returned it. Credit card is scheduled to be billed again in March. I called Direct again today. The first person said that there was a cancellation so I shouldn't be billed. Sent me to cancellation who "cancelled" it and will not return the $160 charge. Run, do not walk, away from Direct TV. They will take your money and claim there was no cancellation. Really wouldn't give them one star, but it made me! They couldn't give me this service for free! I had it and after a year or two all my promotions were up and they refused to help me to bring the bill down. They are more focused on attracting new customers then keeping the ones they already have. Not to speak of their sucky customer service! I CUT THE CORD! I have had Directv Streaming Service for 3 years. After the last update the system is garbage. The fast forward on the DVR jumps at 30 seconds and take 30 seconds to start to move. Before it would move at 15 seconds as fast as you could push the button. Also the service is hard to start. I started it 45 minutes ago and it still has not come on. If you call customer service they make the problem your not there's. Good luck at understanding the person you are talking to as well. Would not recommend this service to anyone. read more

This pos cable company is the worst. They are liars who have no ethics and I am glad to be among the many in my neighborhood who are cutting the DirecTV cord. I cancelled my service due to high costs for my senior budget, service problems during rain, no up to date remote--i want to talk to my remote ... I explained that I have no car and would need them to expedite the equipment return...oh no problem, I am putting through the order and will send boxes for return...yeah right...promptly followed by a letter telling me to get the equipment to a FedEx location... 20 years of DirecTV service from Jersey to Charlotte and the problems remain the same...can never get a senior citizen discount of any sort and if a discount is offered, I am exhausted trying to add the discount chore to an every 6 month reminder to renew it...stupid. So I've had enough! I need DirecTV to come get this equipment or send labels for me to put in the mail, or send a FedEx label for the equipment return, as promised during my cancellation. I have a confirmation number regarding this facilitation of equipment return...instead I get a threat letter about charging me hundreds of dollars if I don't return this equipment by a certain date. You trampled through my house installing these boxes, I have no problem disassembling and putting them in plastic bags as your tacky letter explained, but I need DirecTV to honor their promise of facilitation of return of your equipment. NEVER use Direct TV. They add services constantly "for free" and charge you for the trouble. Your bill will rapidly increase in fees, when you cancel what you never asked for in the first place, they'll force you to extend the contract. When you cancel, they will lie and tell you that you can return the equipment to a store. After you wait in an interminable line, you'll find out you can't return the equipment there, you have to go thru FedEx. All so they can hit you with additional usage time, as well as charge you an early termination fee. The whole company is a pyramid scheme. read more

The WORST company ever! After you finish your commitment and cancel the service they send you a box to send your receiver back. Then they send you an email that says you didn't return all their equipment. Another trip to UPS to send back more stuff they didn't originally ask for. Then I get a bill for $48.04, saying if I don't pay they will send to a collection agency. You can't reach them on the phone. It really should be zero stars. The worst pay more for less, fewer channels. Reception goes out every time it rains, even the least little drop. You can't even get the local channels when it rains. Some times you can't even get the higher number channels in good conditions. They lied when I called to get Direct-TV, told me I would still be able to see caller ID on the TV. No, you will not be able to see caller ID on your TV. If they cannot attach the dish to your house there is an additional $75.00 charge to put a metal post om the ground and run the cable to the house. You still have to pay the $75.00 if they don't have to dig the cable into the ground, and you have to pay the $75.00 to the installer, they will not add it to your bill. Worst decision I ever made switching to Direct tv. They never came out and put my satellite on the pole and cables were just running through the yard and over my shrubs. Finally when we started losing channels I called technical support and I was informed since it was past my 90 days I would either have to pay $99 or $7.99 per month for a technician to come out. I called and was transferred to 5 different people... yes- FIVE different people, given multiple telephone numbers and still never got any resolution for my simple remote replacement. I still have no remote and I'm no better off having spent the better part of an hour on the telephone verifying and re-verifying my own information to each new representative. okay so when I signed up with DirecTV the 2016 NFL season was almost over. The guy I talked to told me since the NFL season was almost over I would get the 2017 NFL Sunday Ticket season free. Lo and behold 2017 season is starting and I got a bill for NFL Sunday Ticket. I called them this morning and they were very rude to me, the first time I called I was hung up on. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! I have had this service for over 10 years and NEVER had so many issues! We recently relocated to Charlotte from Arizona and we were charged over $200 to move service to an apartment while we wait for our new home to be built and an additional $200+ to cancel service in Arizona. We explained that this was a temporary address and that we do NOT want to be charged to move again when the new house is ready. We were told that we wouldn't be charged to move the service and "not to worry" about it... NOT THE CASE! Not only are they charging us another $200+ to move service to the new house but they're refusing to come take down the dish as promised! I really wish TV/internet companies would just give you a flat rate and not change it after so many months or years. I got one of their packages thinking I was getting Genie free. But my internet was not installed and told I could connect Genie myself. However when tried to do it a month later, found I needed another piece of equipment for $25.00. So I just cancelled. I have been a directv customer since 2007. I have paid for the upgrade service for several years. I recently bought a 4K LG OLED. I had been eligible for an upgrade of HD receivers for at least a year. I waited to upgrade until I had the new TV. I called DirectTV to get the upgraded Genie equipment. My house is heavily ethernet wired and I know that is preferable when possible to wireless. The DirecTV rep I was talking with didn't even know the Genie had a wired option. I found that on the internet while I was talking to her. They then failed to send 4K compatible boxes. When I caught their mistake they refused to fix their mistake because the technician had left the premises. I had to pay another $150 to have them come back out to fix this problem that they caused. read more

I had directv satelite since 2012. Service as for picture is good but dealing with all the foriegn customer service and their incompetence is terr ible. Now they've tried to sell me everything in the book. Now they advertise about having the first responder unlimited and more. They changed my plan and said I could go back to a lesser plan within so many days. Now told different. Twice on too occasions a manager was working on it and just of.yesterday said offer 300 to come back. The sales pitch is for the package plus dont forget the second year. She even added it up with tax. Got cc number and placed the order. I called directv per her request to give them my account information for the extra $15.00 off. Directv said that ended several months ago. I was on the phone yesterday for about six hours. So ATT sends text about free channels to stream. I call as it wont work. A guy from DTV now support is routed in on a phone call. He gives me 15 dollars off credits and free HBO to come back. Same issue as before the roku channels were changing on it's on and even back to the home screen for roku. Chatted with support and uninstalled and reinstalled. Was told it was escalated. I called back as Still couldn't watch show. Get to chat with support. One minute to review notes. Then asks me what's my issue. Wheres your sign. He wants to do same steps I ask him for my $70 bucks back. He says if you want a refund i could only get $70 back. Then i said I'd like to speak with a supervisor been working with them since about 6 pm. It was now midnight. I get a foreigner call the house as if he was a supervisor. He read notes trouble shouted told me what he wanted me 2 do. Then he says I'll have to escalate it. At this point i ask about the refund which happened right after purchase about 4 hours after dealing with incompetence. His reply you can continue to enjoy for the rest of the month. I ask for a refund again he says no refund at all. Now I had issues the last time and was reported. Still you cant record mcgyver. I reported that. Oh They wont let us. Well psvue, hulu live tv and YouTube tv will. In conclusion close to 8 hours in calls and texts ATT, DTV, and DTV now. The right hand and left hand doesnt know what to do. Constant sales speech and tactics and if you say no to discuss information with others for marketing I say No. It throws script. Then he tries to cell me a new line free phone. I tell them I don't need one. You can have two phones. I say why it's just me. What about internet? I say no what about my concern. Ok what can I help you with? I have been hung up on, call transferred to some Mexican hotline after several hours then transfered around. Then call dropped. Bull shot. Now some of this occurred on other of many calls. DirectTV is such a joke in their promotions. Be ware when you are told no agreement it is just month to month. Then also watch when you are given a phone company. I was given Windstream which ran line from my home down the street in the street. The line was cut then 2 days later Windstream came out and just reconnected. I had their services since April 2017 and July 24, 2017 Windstream showed up to put down fiber optical lines for service. So I left DirectTV and went back to Spectrum. FRAUD!!!!!! Where do I begin. I am pleading for someone to listen to my situation, and to please help me!! Let me categorize the situation as having two discrete problems: 1) Being billed for services I never asked for or agreed to, 2) The worst customer service experience of my life today. 1) BEING BILLED FOR SERVICES I NEVER AGREED TO: Back story is this. In September of 2017, I decided to switch from Verizon to AT&T for my mobile phone service. I went to an AT&T store at my local mall, and began the dialogue with the Store Manager. The package he offered seemed good enough to make the decision to switch from Verizon to AT&T. On top of it all, he offered to "throw in DIRECTV for only $10/month!" I never watch basic cable and "cut the cord" years ago, but I thought hey, for $10/month, sure, sign me up. We switched our phones over, and everything was fine. We then received a call from DIRECTV to setup the cable service, which we assumed was the next step for the $10/month service we were offered. So we scheduled the appointment, they arrived, installed the cable boxes, and life went on. We never use the basic cable / DIRECTV, but again, I didn't think anything of it for the low cost. That is until I received an email this morning saying "YOUR SERVICES WILL BE TERMINATED." So I immediately opened the email, and saw that I apparently owed $250 for DIRECTV. Well that didn't sound right ... I was under the assumption that I since I had been paying my AT&T Bill on time each month, that I shouldn't have any outstanding bills, much less something as large as $250 for something that should have cost only $10/month! So I immediately called customer service (I'll get to that in my next point below). From talking with representative, apparently they were able to find evidence of the $10/month promotion, but that was only for an online streaming service (DIRECTV NOW, maybe? ... I don't know, as I've never used the service). But that the in-home service was $55/month (and would be more when that promotion ended!). HOW DID I GET SIGNED UP FOR THIS ADDITIONAL SERVICE??? Is this FRAUD?? Was is very concerning is that the AT&T rep ("Mike" was his name ... his boss was "Andrew"), no longer works for AT&T. Did he sign me up for something that I didn't ask for, intentionally? Or was this just some oversight, miscommunication, or mistake? Well, I would hope that DIRECTV customer service could help to find some of these answers. Which brings me to my next point. 2) WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE: I have now spent nearly 3 hours out of my day, trying to understand why I was billed in the first place for something I didn't sign up for, and to resolve the situation. I've had to speak to 5 different customer service reps by calling the 1-800-531-5000 number, they dropped my call once, no one could initially understand what was going on (they tried to cancel my Cell phone service at first??), and then when I finally asked to speak to a supervisor, things got really bad. All the supervisor did was argue with me! They said "well, we've been sending you emails" as if that is defense enough for robbing someone of $650. I have never received, opened, or read any emails that would explain any of this. Again, my assumption was that I was paying my $10/month charge when I was paying my AT&T bill. Which is a fair assumption given how I entered into this who arrangement. And that I was never expecting to receive bills from DIRECTV! So any email that might have said "your bill is due", was irrelevant to me considering I was paying my bills through the online MyATT app (or so I thought). Whoever is reading this has to understand, there is no malice here or false intent. I never knowingly signed anything or confirmed receipt of these services at such a cost. And I feel that I have been duped into this situation! And of all people, I would think that your Customer Service team would be the ones to listen and understand the situation and work to defend the rights and perspective of the customer. My experience was the complete opposite. The supervisor was argumentative, completely dismissed my claim, said I owned the full amount (fine), and then proceeded to tell me that I owe them another $380 for terminating services that I never asked for! THIS IS UNJUST AND UNFAIR AND FEELS LIKE I'M BEING BULLIED BY A COMPANY TO FRAUDULENTLY STEAL MY MONEY! Please someone hear my plea. I'll continue to escalate this matter as far as I have to until someone can listen. Please let me know if I need to take this up to the DIRECTV Legal team. read more

Let me save everyone times and money. They will charge you for everything with out telling you anything until you call them after seeing your statement. Then they will make up BS saying you should of got the total package. If you don't but insurance and have problems when a storm hit. They will change you a 100$ every time they comes out. Probably worst company I have ever dealt with. Had a 24 month contract that involved numerous hour long phone calls. Each time because they raised my bill. After a year, I needed to even contact a security department to get my bill fixed. Assured once again it wouldn't change. Once again numerous months of hour long phone calls, each time telling me they fixed the problem. Till month 19 of 24, now they are no longer honoring my contract. Direct tv has outside contractors who do not value your time. On 2 occasions within a 9 month period I waited all day and no show. They emailed technician on the way and I also called. They make you sign a contract and every time you add or delete the contract renews. A bunch of BS. Also I was charged for protection plan without consent and then tried to use it- not. AT&T and direct TV are the worst service providers I've ever worked with. They have completely botched my order and after spending hours on the phone with them trying to get it right I finally gave up. Initially they sent out a technician who outright lied to me and did nothing before leaving. Then on follow up, they committed to getting me set up the next day and no one came. When I called they said the person the previous day never scheduled the appointment...then when I got frustrated the service rep got angry and defensive...so I cancelled my order.
