They block shows that your previously recorded that you are supposed to have access to for 9 months, with no warning or explanation. Installation was sloppy and trash/ wrappers left in yard. Could have done a better job with wiring. Sticking up out of gutters. Left before checking about programming. Had to call to get channels set up correctly. Receivers were unable to connect to optical in/out on soundbars. Had to purchase adapters. No need for adapters with previous carrier. May have changed mind about switching to Direct TV had I known this. read more

Since ATT bought Direct TV their Customer Service line goes to some unknown location & you can't get anything accomplished. 40 minutes last week and 35 minutes today. I did accomplish one of several things done today but spent 2/3rds of 40 minutes on hold you can hear voices in the background, obviously a big call enter with untrained help! Dear god Directv has gone to hell thanks to AT&T buying them out. I've been a loyal cable customer for 10 years and the cost continues to skyrocket. Every time I call I get the total run around as they tell me they understand as they rape me on cable fees. This company is HORRIBLE. They have no customer loyalty or gratitude for always paying your bill in full and on time. I find myself telling the poor service rep to quit and run because AT&T is a terrible company to work for screwing good people out of their hard earned money. Then they want u to bundle to possibly save $5 of of $90 a month. HELL no! Verizon just dropped my payment by $15 a month so I'm sticking with them. I have to in order to afford AT&T cable. Had Direct TV for years. Had it shut off as I moved from my apartment. They deducted my bill automatically, so I took the extra step of making sure we were squared away and I didn't owe anything. That was in June. Fast forward to January, and I had a "collections" show up that affected my credit report. Apparently they never received my equipment. Fair enough. I would have paid. But no one called me, and they sent my "notifications" to the apartment that I had moved from. You know, the one where I had not been living. I get at least TWO annoying promotional robocalls from Direct TV a week asking me to come back. They had my number. In ONE of those calls they could have said "Btw, we didn't get your dvr." They did not do that at all. They went right to collections. Instead, they called my family's landline 1200 miles away and harassed them - without asking for me or even mentioning me by name. We all blew it off as a scam bc...why weren't they calling me? It seemed scammy. When I asked why they never called me, they said they called several times and got sh**ty with me. Then they said their policy is that they don't leave messages. Like most Americans, I don't pick up calls that I don't recognize, much less the ones that say "potential spam" and that's why I have voicemail. Anyway, I now have a ding on my credit report - after following up with them to make sure that didn't happen; an act that I thought was paranoid and overly cautious at the time -- bc these guys have a system that doesn't make sense. Thanks Direct TV. I was a loyal customer that was going to come back once my new place is ready in March. No way am I doing that now. read more

This company / AT & T has the worst customer service of any company I have ever dealt with!!!!!!! I have called 4 times, once on the phone for 1 hour, to schedule a technician only for the technician to not show up. When I called back, they had no record of a technician on the schedule AND now my husband was going to have to call to reschedule because our pass code now was deleted and his name is the only one on the account. Absolute trash. The cable its self is fine, but the customer service is terrible. I've called 2x a month for over 4 months about the same billing issue, and now they can't even figure out my account information since they've been bought out by AT&T. I have a chat log, an email confirmation, and even a recorded call of their own techs confirming to me that the issue is fixed and I should see the zero balance on my bill in 7-10 days. Which is what they've been saying since the first call in December of 2019. The account is now in collections, which I've obviously disputed, but when I call DirecTV they can't even find my account in order to see what happened! I would rather use the old metal bunny ears that only got 3 channels than to ever go back to their service. read more

I want to start by saying, I love your service and your reps have been over the top since 2012. My wife and I have both been members, but honestly, we're tired of playing the yearly song and dance to get a competitive price offered the new customers. Today, my wife called again to do the anniversary talk with the direct tv rep (who once again was extremely empathetic and professional), but this time, we hu were told it wasn't possible to reach our 65 dollar a month payment we've had for so long. Instead, the best they could do was $130, so we cancelled (our cancellation number Is 5537349307A). I can't justify paying that when I could get Disney+, Hulu, espn+ and Netflix for less than $30 per month. Literally the only thing we watch live is ESPN, everything else is DVR. read more

I was a customer to directv for over 7 years and decided to change due to more and more problems with the satellite. I called and cancelled on July 10th. I then received a statement for August even though I cancelled in July. I was told by customer service that you cant cancel during a billing cycle. Really? So I paid the charges when I was told that they would charge my account even if i disputed it, Now I received another statement for early cancellation fee, when I was told when I called to cancel that there wasn't one. Do not believe a word these people say. Since this I would not come back to this company for anything. read more

I finally got feed up with Direct TV, the bill would fluctuate every month and when I would call I would told it's because a certain promotion fell off, so in February of 2019 I called and spoke to a service representative for direct TV and she looked at my bill and she told me that me bill would be the same exact price for the next 6 months, well that lasted for months and the bill increased by 40.00 dollars. So I called to canceled my subscription, I paid the final bill I asked the person on the phone if I would be receiving any additional charges they said that the only way I would be receiving any additional charges would be for any unreturned equipment which is another nightmare that I get to in a minute. The told me that my payment on April 26 would satisfy my bill because my billing cycle wasn't complete until May 7th and that's when services would be disconnected. So why on May 14th did receive a bill from Direct TV, so I called them and after being transferred to 5 different departments and being told everything under the sun from "you terminated your subscription in the middle of the the billing cycle and the person who told you that didn't know what they were doing " To " oh it was a early termination fee" So how long do you need to subscribe to Direct TV? I guess 9 years isn't long enough? In total I spent 1hr and 55 seconds on the phone and yes I'm going to pay the bill because it's not worth a derogatory hit to my credit score for 40 dollars. Oh I almost forgot about what they said about I would be charged for any unreturned equipment so long as the receive the items by the 27th of May, they emailed me a list of 4 items with serial numbers that I had with instructions to take them to either a UPS or Fedex store to send back. I actually had 5 items, 4 receivers and a item that they refer to as a bridge. I packed all the items in 1 box, I took the unsealed box to the UPS store they scanned the items gave me a printout of the items that were scanned and the very next day I get a email from Direct TV thanking me for returning 3 items I can't wait to see how this is going to play out!!!! read more

Sign up with them if you like being lied to, talking to endless people who don't care or have no idea what they're doing, and dealing with staff that has no clue. Canceled with them before installation due to complete incompetence by sales staff, installation and customer service staff. I talked to a customer service rep on the phone who told me DIRECTV had no stores and I had to have signed up with a door to door person. REALLY??? I went to the store in Dayton, Ohio....you can google it......... Then when we talked about setting up a time for installation.....she said she needed to do a three way call because the installers do the scheduling.....not DIRECTV. WOW!!!! And after the whole thing was canceled through DIRECTV customer service.........a tech still called and was set to come install the dish. And they want you to PAY for this type of service.........No thank you......nothing on TV is worth the headache dealing with DIRECTV. read more

Horrible Customer Service! Called to address them doubling the price after my 2 yr contract. Spent over half an hour on hold only to be told they couldn't help but call back the next business day because the new deals should be out. So called the next day and had to spend a bunch of time on hold. Brenda was rude and arrogant, copped an attitude that we were supposedly getting a "break" for having AT&T cell...yeah, off a ridiculously high cell bill. If I could give less then I would. My service NEVER worked. After spending months trying to cancel services, I am STILL charged for a service that has NOT WORKED FOR EVEN A MINUTE. I am told to call to cancel, but when call I am told to call a different number or to go to the store. The store tells me they don't have the authority to cancel and to call. Literally, not one person will let me cancel a service I have never received. Do not waste your money with this god awful company. called on Sat 12 of Sept, to add 2 channels I was told by your customer service that I had to go up 3 packages to get these channels,, when we asked how much we were told 12.00 our bill reflects 22.00 the channels I wanted was 253 and 286. I even asked him before I hung up so I WILL get the 2 channels and he said yes give it about 10 minutes. I did get 253 but not 286, I called again and was told we are now being charged extra to go up and I will not get 286 unless I go up another package,,, You have horrible customer service, I am told by one person one thing and something else by another, I am not happy with your company I understand having to pay for service but I do not appreciate being lied to.
