Do not waste your money with DIRECTV stream. You're better off paying for Hulu, Netflix, Disney+, and having regular cable TV than paying for this service. You get to keep your recordings for nine months with unlimited cloud storage BUT they'll delete the recordings if you have more than 30 episodes recorded per TV show!!! What is the point of having unlimited cloud storage and being able to keep recordings for nine months, if they delete some of the recordings if you have more than 30 per TV show. Makes 0 sense. Also, they do not have some local channels on DIRECTV stream due to having to pay for the copyright. For example, the CW is not on DIRECTV stream in the St. Louis area. I don't understand why they just won't pay for the copyright so we can have local channels. After all, this wasn't an issue with satellite for DIRECTV. I also have to restart my box a few times when watching TV, because it says I have no Internet connection, when this is not the issue because I can watch my other streaming apps and not have problem. Go with another provider other than DIRECTV stream, I promise you I'll be a lot happier! read more

I speak I could give 1/2 a star. Since AT&T took over the service goes ot every time it rains. The bill in advance so you've already paid for the service you're not getting. To get them to credit you it has to be out for 24 hours and weather can't be the cause. Everything else works just not Directv. Do yourself a favor and do not get any service from AT&T!! The customer service is foreign, slow and unresponsive. Their products don't work if there are clouds, and you have to rent the equipment. I can't wait till this stupid contract is up so I can get rid of this horrible service. You've been warned, stay away!! read more

I asked to AGAIN speak with a supervisor. After waiting for 1 hour 27 minutes (stupid me) with her coming back on the line every so often to assure me that the supervisor was coming, she disconnected the call. I guess that was her way of letting me know that a supervisor wouldn't be coming after all. Right back at you AT&T/DirectTV. If I could leave zero stars I would. After being a great customer for over 15 years, we're not using Directv. They contacted us with the info that we needed to upgrade our equipment , as the satellite they're using is going to fall out of the sky - so it will be useless. The technician came to our location & I asked him about the installation of the receiver, as I had some concerns about letting anyone on my new roof. Just as a FYI, these techs have no clue as far as roofing is concerned & appear to not care if they damage your property or not. Your insurance company may or may not cover damages because you gave them permission to be up there. Yes, you can file a claim with AT&T, but good luck getting it. My son has a roofing business & over 50% of their calls are from damage done by these poorly trained techs. Are they electricians? If they're not, why are they in your home connecting wires to anything? The huge red flag to us is when we asked the company to sign a statement stating they'd be responsible for any damages( if any, to be fair),& they refused. They have confidence in their training procedures, it seems. This from a company that already ran themselves into the ground for crap customer service back in the 1970's( we remember, AT&T),& your product is going the way of printed newspaper. You pushed most of your customers away then & you're repeating the process. Instead of a monthly bill of over $100, I now stream anything for $9.99. Asked them to disconnect my direct tv they said they did and that I would a box to return the items waited no boxes showed up so I called again yesterday and they said it shows it was still active and was never disconnected. So they said to me again they will disconnect and that I have to pay another F&$@ing month because its past the 26th I said it was not my fault your employee messed and have proof I called by my phone log so she said it's disconnected and if I do get a bill complain to customer service. If I could post a minus star, I would. When U-verse raised the monthly fee by about 75% a couple of months ago, I researched the various (other 2!) providers in the St. Louis County region. Based on reviews and services offered, I chose Direct TV. Major mistake! Have had the service for 2 months, and have continuous problems -- which Direct TV has graciously offered to fix for $99.00. No wonder more people are dropping cable (with it's 200+ crap for sale channels). Find an alternative and please share it! read more

Just called to cancel my Directv service -- billing date started today but according to their new company policy -- I can't cancel my service until September. Another way to rip off their customers. So, I just signed up for this service a week ago and can see that I have no time to use it (no tech issues or anything, just no time), but because the grace period is so short (24 HOURS!?) and I'm not made of money, I cannot afford $460 to cancel, So I am stuck with this service for 2 years or until I have $460 laying around to blow on a service that I didn't want anyway. I have never heard of a service that didn't have a 30 day "try it before you buy it" period. It is insane to think that within a day someone can decide to commit to something for 2 years. First, I want to say I have been a longtime subscriber and the customer service has been very disappointing since AT&T took over. Here is the entire scenario: We called customer service on March 11th and told them we could not watch more than 3 tv's at a time, but we pay for 5 tv's every month for years. The representative said it was because the system we have has limits and we are eligible for an upgrade to the new Genie 2 that takes care of that. She put the order in and told us to call them when it arrives. We waited 2 weeks with no delivery or response from AT&T. I looked online at my account and saw that it was canceled. We called again and a different representative said that was a mistake and it needed to be brought and put in by a Tech (which we have the whole home coverage), during the same phone call, we also requested an additional box bringing it up to 6 tv's and she said now that we would have to pay $399.99 for the Genie 2. We told her we would not pay for the upgrade and that it was there mistake. She transferred us to a Supervisor who after telling this entire story way too many times, said she would put in an override, but we would owe for the additional box we ordered. We agreed and the tech came out installed it and we thought everything was great. SUREPRISE the bill came, and the $399.99 charge is on there. We have called twice with a representative telling us that they do not see that conversation in the notes, and we owe it. WE NEVER AGREED TO PAY THAT FOR THE GENIE 2 AND WOULD NOT HAVE HAD IT INSTALLED IF WE WERE NOT TOLD WE WOULD NOT BE CHARGED FOR IT. We have been told in 2 calls now that a manager will be calling us back and no one calls. I told them to go back into their so-called recorded conversations and find 1 time that we allegedly agreed to that. This is a bait and switch I am appalled that no one can respond and no one you speak with has authority to do anything but telling us we must pay for an AT&T breakdown of customer service. There has been over 8 hours of transfers, time spent on hold and discussions. It would be nice to here from a legitimate Manager that can resolve this. read more

Is my contract up already? I have regretted switching from UVerse from day 1. There was a free promotion in the beginning that would have to be cancelled if the the customer did not want it after 3 months. Prior to the end of the 3 months I called to cancel and was assured that the channels would be removed after the promotion. They were not and my account was charged. Now I get a call a year and a half later explaining that there is promotion for 8 extra channels free for 3 months and that if I didn not cancel my bill would go up yet again. The customer service rep hung up on me after I told her I did not want to have to call to cancel a promotion that I didnt order in the first place. Who want to go thru this nonsense? This has been the longest 2 year contract ever! I cant watch TV in bad weather and have been lost without one of my favorite local channels that was added month ago. Left Directv for U-verse after 20+ years as a loyal customer, who was never late with a payment. I decided to come back to directv after three months of U-Verse, when directv made an offer to get me back as a customer. I decided to come back when they offered me $300.00 and the NFL package for the 2019 season. After having directv put back in my home I was sent 3 e-mails stating that I would indeed be receiving the 300.00 and the 2019 NFL package. About a month later I received a letter telling me how to redeem my $200.00 for coming back. I called directv and told them I was offered $300.00 to come back and that I have 3 e-mails stating such. I was given the run around. Every person I talked to gave me a different number to call, after the fourth call and about 1 1/2 hours on the phone, I was told that I could receive UP TO $300.00, even though I have 3 E-mails stating that I was to receive $300.00. Not UP TO $300.00. I finally got so disgusted and fed up with the liars and being sent from flunky to flunky that I gave them their wish and finally just hung up in disgust of all their lies. I wonder how they would feel if when I get my bill i only pay it partially, even though I agreed to pay the full amount. The only reason I would give them a one star rating is because the installer was fantastic and very knowledgeable unlike the office/customer service departments.
