Have been a loyal subscriber to DirecTV, but recently got caught up in the ''cable this - DISH NETWORK that'' deals, so i decided to read the flyers. DISH had a deal so I decided to switch, and had everything set up to go. As a last step, I had to call DIRECTV to cancel the service, and after everything was ready to go, the sales rep informed me I could save a lot of $$$ by going to a new package. So...dilemma... I decided to stick with the new DirecTV package. While I am happy that I was offered a great new deal (paying almost half of what I was paying!), I was disappointed that after a number of faithful years (paying high prices!) they didn't offer up 'deals' once in a while. DirecTV blocked my access to my online account. I used chat to cancel the account when the contract period was over. I switched to a new provider. Now after 3 months I discover they have still been charging me and didn't close the account when requested in September. They have now offered me a goodwill gesture of 1 month fees refunding, but they have taken almost $1000 from me since I cancelled. They are the worst company I've ever dealt with. Along with most everyone else's reviews, DIRECTV deserves much less than one star. Just every time I have to deal with them, the service is worse than the time before. Are there any English speaking technicians working there? They are so quick to apologize for "the inconvenience" no matter what I'm calling about. Their apology means zero to me. I have had numerous phone calls to them plus four service calls since connecting my service in April to get one of the TV's working and four months later, there's still no service to that TV. Poor service and connection called Direct TV to cancel service as was within 4 days of receiving the equipment. Was charged $540 early termination fee. There is only one word to describe this company: disgusting. We were messed around with not once but FIVE TIMES. We have 9 TVs in our home. It's not a cheap, one bedroom set up. This is an advanced job, that a brand such as DIRECTV should be capable of handling. No. They are only equipped to house and set up cheap entertainment systems. They did the most ghetto job at installing our cable which then resulted in none of our televisions working. So now we have called DIRECTV four times and have a tempted to get four different technicians to our home. The first time at resolving this issue the man came over and said "oh fixing this kind of problem is not my job." HOW IS HE EVEN EMPLOYED?!?! We then went to the AT&T store in person, and spent two hours on the phone to set up a new appointment, we saw a ray of light at the end of the tunnel. It was then turned into total chaotic darkness as they did not show up to the appointment! When I ask them what's going on they said oh we came over and nobody was home. Lies! They are LIARS. I set up another appointment to try to get someone out to our house and the same exact thing happened again TWICE. Yes, we had TWO other appointments set up and we called days in advance to confirm and we were ghosted. How is this acceptable for a national brand?! Clearly a job to set up a proper entertainment system is too much for this national brand to handle. I hope that DIRECTV has a slow and miserable death and that streaming will be king. The way that they treated us during this entire experience was basically suicide toward a loyal customer arrangement with them. They are making the path easier for people to switch over to streaming with their uneducated and unreliable service. If I could give this service one star I would. I do not have dish DirecTV, I have DirecTV Now but it really is no better. The streaming really sucks! I was literally just sitting here and the app force closed on it's own and went to roku home screen. And this happens A LOT might I add. It's almost as if you're streaming too long that it needs to reboot itself or something. Shows are never readily available. I can go in and try to watch something that aired the previous night but because it may be coming on later today, tomorrow or next week, I can't watch it. I am transferring my service to a new address which sounds like a simple request. The first number you dial gets you to Pakistan or somewhere like that and after 20 minutes of giving information and answering questions I a told that "I can't help" but he would transfer me to the "right department". Ditto, another 20 minutes and the person was clueless and couldn't complete this simple request. Finally I was transferred to a third person, within the US so I got my hopes up but she said she couldn't help either and she gave me "the right number to call" and I ended up back in Pakistan. Only to be told now by DirectTV that I owe $440.00 for early termination because I broke a two year contract. What justification does DirectTV have for demanding twenty dollars per month for the next twenty-two months of lousy service not received? I have been a customer of AT&T for more than thirteen years. My services include three cell phones, home phone, Internet and cable television. Up until September 8th, 2015 when I had called AT&T to discuss my bill, I was offered a cheaper cable plan. I was told by the AT&T sales person that the offer was from their now "added family" DirectTV. For the next two months I was billed by AT&T for all my services, including my cable television service. My dissatisfaction with my cable television service came with the constant disruptions from presumably, heavy winds and thunderstorms normally experienced in Florida. So, on 10/27/15 I called AT&T to complain about my TV service. I was then re-offered a similar but cheaper U-Verse service without any mention of a penalty. Even with a new dish (4 months ago) which in theory receives signals from a few different satellites we still lose signal when it rains . Not for long but it can be a few minutes . Dont even think of wasting your money on Pay Per View sports or movies during the rainy season if you have this but I still prefer it over Comcast so other then when it rains its ok. Four days later after speaking with a supervisor and about four hours of phone calls later, I finally got the damn discount. Next, I was told after the first year my cable bill could go up 10-30$. Ok fine. After I signed up and gave them my payment info, I get a bill saying the second year would go up 55 dollars!!!!!! 55 fucking dollars! Next problem. I got my cable bill after I had only had cable 2 weeks, weird? A full bill. Ok so I called and asked they post pone it even a few days. They said no problem, sent me confirmation that they changed it may 2 to may 5 and that's when the payment would be taken. Cool, gave me some time. Absolutely worse experience ever with a cable company! It's basically a huge scam. Called to enroll into their supposed "bundle" package. Was told that I'd receive a guaranteed 2 year locked rate until I received my first bill. It was substantially higher than what I was told I'd be charged. I was also told that after the first year my rates would increase, so the rate I got initially wasn't accurate. Nevertheless, after literally being on the phone with them for over 5 hours, yes 5 hours, they said they couldn't do anything and that I'd be charged by both Directv and AT&T if I terminated my contract. So not only are they liars, they don't have their own internet/phone company, which adds to the burden of dealing with the whole run-around they put you through. They get their internet/phone from AT&T, which dealing with them was an ordeal in itself. In a nutshell, after a month of service there are wires still all over the place, loose and exposed. Essentially you're under contract with 2 companies, thus paying early termination fees to both companies should you decide to exit the contract prematurely due to all of their empty promises and lies. To make things worse I spoke with 2 supervisors (Synethia, ID 454788 and Sean, ID 243698) who were of no help whatsoever. They were rude, condescendingly and dismissive, sayting that they couldn't do anything, as I described my disappointment with them. After 5 hours of being on the phone with them and speaking with everyone imaginable, no one helped me, and no one made an effort to offer any type of courtesy as a result of my stress and disappointment, which I vehemently expressed. If it were possible to give Directv a ZERO stars rating I would. They don't deserve any stars as a result of how they do business. Therefore, save yourself the time, money, headache and frustration. Don't bother with this company, they're one big time lie and a bunch of scammers. In a nutshell my conversation with the rep I initially spoke was null and void, despite all the notes I recorded during our conversation because nothing she said was accurate. She basically told me everything I wanted to hear to lure me into committing with Directv. Hence, the scam is that they get you to agree to have their services installed with a bogus bundled price for TV, phone and internet services, to then give you a separate more exorbitant for the separate services, way higher than what they initially told before. I Signed up for DirectTV after a Special Offer online for $49.50/month for 1 Year with HBO/Cinemax/Showtime/Starz included for a Year 1st DirectTV tech, who put the Dish up, Felt from Latter, caught himself up, but Broke a stove vent, lend on a tommy Bahama cooler he broke, broke a security Camera, & Scratch the Paint on the Building & left like a thief without cleaning, fixing, or reporting damages. I filed a claim as repair was above $580! When i Signed up over the Phone, i clearly repeated with the sale person that i was signing up on a recording line for 1 year service @ $49.50/month with HBO/Showtime/Cinemax/Starz included for a Year! I made her repeat! After a week, system was not Working, tech didn t tide up the antenna correctly, 2nd tech who fixed it, made me sign a service call with an additional $7.50/month maintenance fee After 3 months, my initial contract of $49.50 + taxes + $7.50/maintenance + Taxes =$59.89 Double to $124.50/month I called, after 57 minutes wait, got transfered to billing, i explained, got transfered to supervisor, i explained again, i requested to play the recording of the agreement, they could not find it. & just told me HBO/Showtime/Cinemax/Starz was free for 3 Months only. I clearly indicated that i Signed up & agreed to pay for $49.50/month for a year or 5 times the cost of Netflix with All the Movies Channels included for a Year, & they have the recording of the agreement, & I never agreed to to pay 12 times the Cost of Netflix for 5 Movies Channels. These Guys are ROCK STARS!!!!! i will never to go Comcast or god forbid AT&T! My Contract was up and they lowered my bill by $20 a month for a year and gave me the New "Genie" DVR. I can now use the On Demand features as well as record up to 5 programs at a time. We were double billed for the NFL ticket and they will not issue us a refund. Horrible customer service especially since this was their error! How is it ok to double bill and not refund the customers money. BEWARE Dirctv are THIEVES!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will be escalating this issue. read more

DONT EVER GET DIRECTV. I'm a 9 year customer and I can never get somewhat decent customer service. They tell you something one month and then send you something different the following month. I will NOT be renewing my contract. read more

There was an update a few weeks ago and they took away the feature to browse shows by channel. I called to complain and was told that I can pay a cancelation fee and leave but it's the way it is now. They only list pay per view movies at 1st. You can no longer browse HBO, Showtime, Fox....etc to see what's available. I didn't sign up for this and they don't care because I have a contract. read more
