The person that installed was very good. The person that set up the acct was not good. I have been trying to get the answers way there was a 650.00 charge to my CC it has been over 80 day. I have found out way. They charge for the upgraded equipment and to install it. We were never told about that we would have to put out that much money. I called to cancel my Directv service on January 10, 2019 and was offered by Desiree at the Loyalty department to keep my old price of $69 for satellite. She told me my pending bill would be lowered to $156.01 and my following bill would be aprox. $75, from then on it would be &95. The following bill came up to $181.01. I called on February 4, 10, 15, 22 and March 7 to have someone review the call I made on January 10 so they can hear the price I was offered was $75 not $181, and keep getting hung up, wrongfully transferred and at the end nobody gave me an answer. I have filed two escalations, the first one "didn't go through" and the second one was "wrongfully filed". I finished paying the $181.01 bill fearing I would be charged a late fee if I kept waiting for an answer. To this day nobody has had the courtesy to contact me. I requested the telephone number for the Corporate office and supposedly there is no number??? Really? I HAVE THE DATES AND EXACT TIMES AS WELL AS NAMES OF EVERY PERSON I HAVE SPOKEN WITH. I called them to set up service I spoke to a man who sold me a bundle tv and internet package with fios internet and they set up an appointment and didn't show up then I called and they didn't offer the same deal they refused to let me talk to a manager and they kept me on hold over 5 times and disconnected my call while I was holding they also refused to let me speak to my original sales person I ordered nfl package and it missed 3 games this season. I finally had enough and called to cancel my service I demanded to speak with a supervisor because they didn't honor the deal and they were charging me 170.00 to cancel. I waited on hold for over 56 minutes exactly before she picked up then she told me there was nothing she could do about the charges and she didn't apologize and I reluctantly agreed to pay 170.00 to cancel the worst service ever. All we wanted was for them to tell us what our monthly bill would be and they hung up on us every time we called. After 4 calls, talking to 6 reps and hours on the phone, I finally was approved for the $300 card, but still haven't received it, over 2 months since getting the service. I was promised on 2 dates that someone would get back to me regarding the extra $100 I was promised but that never happened. I am on hold now for over 1/2 hour after being transferred to 3 different departments. No one knows what they are doing and their word is no good. I just paid the cancellation fee just to not have to put up with their crummy service any longer. We are in S. Florida and believe it or not, "It rains here! We also have partly cloudy skies". Well with DTV, every time it rains or gets cloudy outside......you """"are"""" going to loose your signal!! No service was the norm. Work for 3 minutes and drop out for 15-20 minutes. Consistently down. I also paid to cancel this....well, I can't call it service. Get this, we finally got tired after 90 days of complaining and had a technician come out to the house. The first words out of his mouth, "This is not installed correctly!"!!!!! What??? They they wanted to bill us $95 for his service call!! What??? "It was never installed correctly the first time we paid for the installation". "How can you possibly want to charge me again for correctly installing it?" Answer, "Well, we will void the $95 but you will have to go under a guaranteed service plan for $5.95 per month". That was a no brainer and I even started having ideas of calling them out weekly...every time it quit working. That would be instant karma justice....he he! Not meant to be. Always 2-3 weeks out for non critical service calls (service down) We were supposed to have 15Mb down load. Only once did we even get 12Mb. It was usually 8-9Mb down. Upload was even worse at generally less than 2MB. Well, it is now water over the dam and we have excellent cable and internet service now with 75Mb of download (actually getting 90), clear 1080P HD TV signals. Best part, it is less than 1/2 the cost of combined DTV and Exede internet service. JUST SAY NO unless you are on a boat or in the everglades and can't get cable or DSL. Forewarned is forearmed. Just had one of the worst experiences with a customer support agent and subsequent supervisor with DirecTV. Three days ago the hard drive failed and we went without TV until the new Genie arrived today. When speaking with the customer service representative, he said there was nothing he could do about the days without service and the lost recordings. The supervisor then explained that she would offer us a discount on purchasing additional movie channels to make up for the time lost. She wanted us to spend MORE money? That is completely unacceptable when it comes to customer service. Key word in there "SERVICE", I felt a complete lack of. How can it be that your product fails, and as a consolation we pay more money? I understand that you can not retrieve the lost recordings from the failed hard drive, but in today's modern technology with internet connected DVRs, you can't provide us a list of the shows that we had recorded and have not watched? Then we could at least find them on Demand. We also now have to spend the time finding all of the shows that we would have set to record and re-set them. DirecTV obviously has not advanced with the times. When I loose a cell phone, as soon as I connect my new phone up, all of my settings, contacts, and apps are automatically put onto the new phone. I am exceptionally disappointed and will be switching providers as soon as my contract is up. read more

Do not sign up for DirectTV. They promised me an $82 rate with HBO and Showtime, then offered me all other movie channels for a 90 day free trial. When I cancelled the other channels, my bill increased by 50%. This was a bait and switch move by this company. I would not recommend this as an alternative for cable tv. STAY FAR , FAR , AWAY!! Was a customer for 13yrs. Never missed a payment , never late. February 21 , I called to cancel my subscription for the 1st of March, that alone took 40 minutes to do with some idiot from BFE! Told them then I needed the return boxes sent to me for the equipment. It is now the 13th of March. I have been on the phone 3 more times asking where the hell the boxes are!! (You don't return the equipment within 21 days of disconnect.....they charge you a ungodly amount for the obsolete equipment). I now am driving to a UPS Store 70 miles away to give them the damn equipment because they now tell me after 3 weeks that they don't send boxes out anymore since AT&T acquired them. I live in a remote area that has no UPS Store anywhere near. I have come to the obvious conclusion that this is yet another attempt to screw the leaving customer out of more money. This is the worst company on the planet I have ever worked with. There customer service is terrible since ATT took over. Don't fall for there advertisements that shows cheap prices, there just sucking you in. I signed a 2 year contract Dec. 2016 for $80 a month plus tax for TV and Internet and only received this introductory price for one month yes one month on a 2 year contract now every month the price chances. They tried to charge me as much as $412.76 for 1 months service and when you call there customer service line they have no idea why, when, or how to help you. I was switched once for 4 hour and never got threw to a supervisor. Three month later when I stopped paying my bills I finally received a call from there so called customer relations department. After several attempts to explain to them what was happening to my bill we finally settled on a price which I was told would be fixed for the remainder of the contract, well that never happened either my bill was correct for 2 months and then it went up another $50 a month I couldn't believe it. These ATT people have no idea what they are doing or how to help there customers and to top it off the internet is slow crap like a turtle I actually have to use my phones LTE phone to get faster service. That's not all the slightest ran or heavy clouds and say goodbye to your service I cant tell you how many times I lost my connection in the slightest rain. My DVR constantly has problems and loses the signal and I have to be rebooted it constantly. My advise is go anywhere else but DirecTv. One more thing don't make the mistake of changing anything on the introductory pricing they called me and asked me if I wanted internet 45 for only $10 more a month than I was paying and "WHAM" I took the offer and the next month my bill went up $200. When I called customer service I was told if I made any changes to the introductory offer I lose it, can you believe that? they call you, offer you a sweet upgrade then "WHAM" you lose it all. There introductory offers only include turtle slow internet and you can't upgrade or you lose everything. You cant even use on demand with the internet they offer it's to slow, go figure. THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER USED IN MY ENTIRE LIFE! This is how it all started! I had xfinity and they were billing me incorrectly my bill would be double and triple every other month! So I was told about direct and I called them and they quoted me with tax way below the actual price. It was going to cost me 200$ to cancel xfinity and they knew that and this was right after Christmas so things were a little tight. They charged me on my amex and told me it didnt go through (it was a gift card) so I believed them and gave them my debit card an they ended up CHARGING BOTH! Then it took so many days to get back that I actually have to pay xfinity 150$ plus the 200$ cancellation fee! I kept calling to get things straitened out and it was actually worse then xfinity! Then I am currently paying for internet I do not have yet that I was promised to get tv and wifi the same day I mean who can live without wifi?!? And here's the cherry on top of the cake! They made a mistake of sending me 2 kits for wifi and then didn't call me and explain just wrote me an e-mail that said if I didn't return the equipment by tomorrow then I was going to have to pay 150$!!!! Then as soon as the scamming artist was closing me into this awful 2 year hell I was told unlimited internet and now it's not and I told them that I work a lot online at home! I called them on the 800 number they had listed and received California. after talking to some jerk and maybe coming to terms he told me I had to pay cal. sales tax as well as Florida. I never heard this before so I asked him why and he told me whatever state I call I will have to pay there tax also. obviously I hung up and kept calling until i got Florida.Stupid me! I asked them about there bundling deal they advertise and we first talked about the TV. after we came to terms she said they had to charge my credit card for the first month which I then asked her "what if i don't get the deal" what happens to my charge. she said it would be taken off immediately. I let her charge my card $132.09 based on what she said. she didn't even give me an account number to reference by. Of course the deal did not go through and I like a dope figured the charge was removed. I have access to e mail as you can see and went on my credit card sight this morning 2/2/2015 only to find out there was no credit. when i called direct they told me there policy is 5 to 15 days to get my credit which means they are sitting on my money, making interest on it and I am not.Now multiply this fraud my millions to understand what I mean. They will tell you whatever to make you please but attention to this information: someone come to do installation at your house, at the end of that process you will be asked to sign a document on Direct TV iPad with your finger. Worst service ever! I contacted Direct TV and they scheduled a first visit to tell me it would be better if I upgrade to HD, which I did but had to schedule a second visit. Second technician says there are a lot of trees around and my signal won't be good (many neighbors have Direct TV in the same location) so maybe it was best for me to use another provider (He even recommended other providers names). I called back to Customer Service and mentioned They will be sending someone for a second opinion, scheduled the visit and I just received an email before that visit saying everything is cancelled and are not even bothering with revising the concept. I'm enrolled in auto pay and I checked my account which said last payment was the amount of my bill so I assumed it shoukd show out of my account and day i checked again a few days later an it stated the same thing. Of course as my hectic life is I didn't check my bank account again I just assumed it was out since their website said it was. I get an email today saying I'm past due 333.00 so I did an online chat. Abigail G was the service rep who was very nice but couldn't get through her head what I was saying so of course absolutely useless. It's not a huge deal except that I bust my butt to always pay my bills on time and I trust in a website to be honest. Getting a past due notice is very disturbing an not having someone in customer service that has a clue is a huge issue! I had Direct TV via an AT&T bundle package deal for 1 year, throughout the year my service was interrupted and charged late fees even though I has signed up for auto-pay from the start. I called AT&T and they would direct me to Direct TV who would state they had to confirm with AT&T and the cycle would re-occur every 2-3 months. After the first few time I threatened to cancel and was told I would have a 175.00 early termination fee which forced me to hold off until the year was up. AT&T also un-bundled my internet and charged me double the amount and began two separate bank charges. AT&T/Direct TV does not work! they do not understand that a paying customer must be treated with respect and quality service must be maintained. I spent hours on the phone while they communicated to straighten out their issues at my expense. Now that I did my time (a year) they tell me its 2 years and arte both charging me the early termination fee. Direct TV is for $240.00 and AT&T is 266.00, I wish I would have ended the torcher early at 175.00. read more
