Went on a Sunday night.....the place is bigger inside than expected. And very bright! We chose to sit outside even though it was hot so we could enjoy the sunset. There was a group of people that set up a volleyball net in the new "beach" area. Great to watch. We got a bucket of beers. The ice melted quickly, but the beers were cold. Started with the crab dip....I was happy....i would get it again. He got some oysters. He would suggest serving the mignonette on the side...just so you can regulate how much. He probably wouldn't get them again....but he's oyster-picky. We also split the combination fajitas. I thought the chicken was much better than the beef. The salsa verde had a nice kick. We both enjoyed them. Got a side of fries - and they were the star. Crispy. Fresh. Hot. Exactly what I want from a fry: gonna have to try the cheese fries. Owner stopped by to check on the table and chatted for a few minutes.

We love to take drives in the country. We haven't been very far into the lakes and hills to the southeast of us, so we're doing more exploring in that beautiful country. We headed towards the Cedar Creek Lake area and eventually needed to consider a place to eat. On a Sunday, there's not much open after eight. But Dirk's Dockside Bar and Grill appeared to be open until 10 pm. I was amazed. They were newly open and having some soft opening pains, but it's rare for a new restaurant not to. The new moon was full over the lake when we got there and there were only a few people in what is an enormous restaurant and deck. Dirk's Dockside in Seven Points is on a little spit of land, a causeway, so it has a wonderful view of the lake. We sat inside as they were testing speakers for the coming holiday. But we did go out there to take a peek. I would love to come back when it's daytime. Service was attentive and friendly. Chris, our waitress, helped me pick out something soft. I just had a big fractured molar/crown removed and had restrictions. I ordered the Fried Catfish and substituted onion rings for the fries (an additional $1.99). They have Signature Sides you can pick from. My husband also ordered the Catfish with the Corn Fritters and substituted a Caesar Salad for his fries. We didn't wait long. It gave me a chance to look around. There are booths, tables and high tables all along a window view inside. High chairs line a long bar. Multiple TV's range from sports to family television. Outside is a terrific shaded deck and band/bar gazebo. I imagine locals are very familiar with this layout as the restaurant existed previously, but the sheer size of the deck is unusual. Our food arrived and the Catfish was enormous! Not strips. Not sliced into smaller filets. A giant perfectly cooked catfish fillet. I had asked for some pickles and they make their own sweet and sour pickles that are scrumptious. Tangy and perfect with the Catfish and Tartar Sauce. I gave my husband my Corn Fritters and he ate his first. He said they were tender and very good. My onion rings were also good and I although I chewed only on one side, they were not hard. I shared those with my husband who loved everything. His Caesar salad had "a delicious dressing" and I quote. It did however have two large homemade Melba toast instead of croutons. Tasty and different. We enjoyed our dinner and we'll be back.

Peel and eat shrimp, every one was not deveined. Gross.

Saturday evening 7/11/26. The atmosphere and a great 3 pc band were the only reason for the two stars. Food and service were horrible. I brought a couple friends from out of town for dinner and it was embarrassing. I had the 6 piece peel and eat shrimp as an appetizer and it was the nastiest shrimp I've ever eaten. It wasn't deveined and I tried to clean it but it still tasted gross. Additionally it was coated in a cajun-ish spice, not described on the menu and was lukewarm warm and mushy. I actually spit out the one bite I took concerned about getting ill and sent it back. I ordered the short rib, which was not a short rib but a piece of very dry pot roast. Which the waitress said that's how their short rib was, I quote "pot roast like". Well pot roast is served with gravy.... It came with mashed and sweet potatoes, which were edible and the highlight of my meal. Had I not been with guests, I would have returned the "pot roast" as well. One friend order a dozen broiled oysters and said they were ok but were baby oysters. After they were served we couldn't locate the waitress for hot sauce and horseradish. My other guest had a fried shrimp platter with fries. Said the shrimp was obviously frozen and fries were ok. Same issue with the shrimp, no ketchup, salt, pepper or waitress. Flagged down a different waitress for condiments but by then the food was cold. While it is a wonderful water view, fighting off the flies on the patio wasn't so wonderful. The alcoholic drinks were weak and no tea or water refills were offered. Our waitress checked back in with us when our meal was done. A manager came by and asked about the food and I gave him feedback on the shrimp needing to be deveined and his response was " I don't eat shrimp and don't know what you mean" I told him your shrimp eating guests won't care for shrimp not cleaned and he very dismissively said ok then I'll let the chef know. When the check was finally dropped the shrimp, that I didn't eat were on the check and the waitress says "oh yeah, I forgot". I also don't think it's cool to stand over your patrons, watching to see your tip. All three of us noticed it and didn't like it. I used the restroom before we left and it was dirty and without hand soap. How do your employees wash their hands? The only saving grace was the 3 piece band, who were really good and a wonderful view. It's a shame because this is a super location but for me it's one and done. Probably the reason prior restaurants have failed. The good view and music might get you some bar business but the epic failure at service, food quality and cleanliness will guarantee another failure in this great spot. I wholeheartedly don't recommend this spot for dinner/food.

Food was service was so so but the ambience was lacking. Probably will not return as I thought it would be a little more of fine dining!

Tried it on June 13th and was not impressed. Food was greasy, beer warm and I see no difference from the last restaurant.

Our app came quickly but the drinks and food came so slowly. Also between us asking for waters while we look at the cocktail menu was a lot of elapsed time. Food: the steak frites were very salty (and I love salt) but definitely the best meal ordered. The "Mac attack" tasted cheeseless -- literally tasted like water. The chicken Alfredo was "mid" but also a super tiny portion. Both pastas looked like kids meals. I guess they were priced appropriately at least. Not pictured was the Donny burger -- described as "eh it was fine". All left more to be desired. We really wanted to try the cinnamon cake but decided against since service was sooooo slow. The peach tea was bad. The oasis marg was okay. When we asked for wine, we were told "I don't know what we have let me show you" and were shown the screen that listed: white, red, rose, and sparkling. The wine should be listed on the menu with the beer and the cocktails. I'd maybe come again to sit at the bar and have a drink or two if there's live music, but otherwise, this is skippable for a full meal service.

Whether you're there for games, tournaments, or training sessions, the environment feels well-run and family-friendly. The layout makes it easy to navigate, and there's plenty of space for both players and spectators, which makes events much more comfortable compared to many other local venues. The courts/fields are well-maintained and the facility gives off a professional feel without being intimidating. Staff is generally helpful and keeps things running on schedule, which is especially important during busy tournament weekends. Parking and access are also relatively smooth, even when multiple events are happening at once. Overall, it's a solid venue that balances competitive sports energy with a clean, well-managed environment. Great spot for both athletes and families spending the day watching games.

I fell in the parking lot, wasn't even their responsibility. It wasn't their fault, but their staff, was more than helpful, made me feel like what's in the right place. Next thing they did, was to comfort me, and give me medical treatment. I mean it was only a few scratches. My forearm was bleeding. Of course. I was bleeding all over the parking lot. But they didn't care, they took care of me when I need them. They opened their bathroom, and they gave me sufficient medical care to get home. I've never been in Dudley's bar before. But I give them a AAA reading on there staff, and need to be helpful. It seemed like a bunch of off duty. Paramedics took care me. I very much appreciate their time and their care.

My mom and I have visited Dudley's a couple of times since I left my original review, and I can honestly say we've noticed a big difference. The wait staff has been much more attentive, welcoming, and engaged. The atmosphere feels much more like the Dudley's we fell in love with. One of the things I mentioned before was wanting everyone to feel equally welcomed, and I'm happy to say our recent visits have reflected that. We truly appreciate the effort because it made our experience so much more enjoyable. Thank you for listening to your customers and continuing to make Dudley's a place where people enjoy coming to relax, have a glass of wine, and spend time together. We'll definitely be back!
