Wonderful spot on the water to grab a quick bite and have a few drinks. The service was amazing! The staff was super friendly and the atmosphere was great! This is the perfect place to relax after a day on the lake. The food came out fast and hot. We ordered the mozzarella sticks, chicken tender basket, and shrimp basket. They had multiple runners and all of the staff worked together to make sure everyone was happy and had what they needed. We really enjoyed our first trip to Cedar Creek Lake and the Tiki Hut! The food at this establishment was extremely disappointing -- it lacked flavor and quality. However, my biggest concern is not just the food, but the behavior and professionalism of the staff. While there, I overheard a young woman who was "head cook" having a conversation about a disagreement with a customer. She stated that she disliked the customer and claimed that she had "handled it" by putting something in their food and spitting in it. After hearing this, I immediately left because I was extremely uncomfortable and concerned about the safety and standards of this establishment. If this statement was true, it is completely unacceptable and should be taken seriously. Anyone working in the food industry, especially someone in a leadership position such as a manager or head cook, should understand the responsibility they have when handling customers' food. I will not be returning to this establishment while this type of behavior is happening. I strongly encourage the owners to look into what is going on because this is not only unprofessional, but it could also put customers at risk. Better training, better hiring decisions, and higher standards are needed. No customer should have to question whether their food is being prepared with care and respect. read more

Best outdoor establishment I've been to!! The waitstaff was so friendly, and they helped out more than needed. Considering how hot it is out here, they did a fantastic job. Terrible management...folks didnt know who was doing anything as in staff...were warned that food was gonna be a bit of a wait upon arrival...after 1.5 hours started asking questions about food. Discovered that order had not been passed to cooks. Then told salsa would come...never happened...asked chief manager what as up...informed our food was being cooked...and other tables that had ordered food were not gonna get served based on no meat left and we were lucky ...we did get two drink orders in over a 2 hour period....we left...NEW MANAGEMENT REQUURED...new staff...new owners maybe...TRUE CLUSTER. Our server was very attentive...but it was over crowded, not only were guests running into each other the staff was knocking into us so they could get around other people. Food tasted fantastic, however one in our group ordered a tiki tea (long island tea) that had very little alcohol in it and were charged $16.00 for 1 drinks!!!! the server stated that it was due to the amount of alchohol in the drink...when you have a person at your table that does not drink frequently and they cannot taste any alcohol there is a problem...$16.00!!!. Then there was was a Double shot margarita ordered...again passed around the table no one tasted alcohol just mix. That drink was $7.00 for a top shelf double shot! First time here, staff is undertrained and kitchen is over whelmed every table was waiting extremely long for food. Orders were incorrect and several were sent back. Asked for marinara .. received cocktail sauce.. burgers were served dry even though I asked for mustard and jalepenos ( they arrived after I had finished the burger). All food was not hot / warm when it arrived . The kitchen is downstairs so food is sent up via a dumb waiter.. maybe hire a few good runners . We didn't order alcohol but they serve beer and wine only .. and they close at 10pm Would be a popular spot with a bit of improvement.. train the staff and speed up the kitchen (it's in a tiny area and probably not large enough to cook 20 burgers at a time ) read more

Vernon's must have hired up all the decent waiters at the lake! I'm Yelping because we really like this place and we want them to thrive. But heads-up Owners: you need to be there on weekends to manage the kids who are supposed to be working there. We've eaten there 5 times this summer, and every time there are multiple waitresses, all just standing around chatting or scrolling on their phones, while we wait to get served. Yesterday was the last straw for us for a while. We finally asked for a server and the little (well, huge actually) slacker got sassy with us for interrupting her phone time. So bye for now. Good location for people watching, covered outdoor seating, decent bar. You can't be in a hurry though, our food took an hour and 45 mins for a grilled cheese and burger. Even our drinks were faster to get ourselves from the bar. We were told "the grill is very small and the salad girl is really pretty but super slow" Um, hello? We can't see her, who cares what she looks like, maybe just get a normal sized grill and good kitchen help? The table next to us was given ice cream for their children an hour into their wait because it was also almost 2 hours between when they ordered and received their food. A miserable situation for the parents of hungry tired waterlogged kids. Our sandwiches were undercooked and cold, the deck was oppressively hot. The service was friendly but vocally takes no responsibility for the failure of the kitchen. I'll go back maybe for a drink, but I'll ask about ticket times before I order food again. First time at Cedar Creek Lake yesterday - and my friend from Tool,TX wanted to take me to the Tiki Hut for lunch saying that the ambiance reminded him of times in Florida. Anyway, we got there early and had good service and the food was good. My friend had to save some fries to feed to the large carp when we went back downstairs. I've been coming to this place for 20+ years across all the various owners. In most ways, it's better than it's ever been. It's cleaner and the decor with the new railings, deck and roof is a huge improvement. But don't come here expecting a 5 star experience. It's outside, and in the Summer that means it's HOT. Do your best to avoid a seat in the sun. They have a lot of fans scattered around, some don't work, but it's HOT. The food is slightly above average, but don't expect gourmet. Burgers, chicken fingers, the usual. Service is spotty. Sometimes it's really good, sometimes it's REALLY bad. I've bussed my own table more times than I can count. I've had to steal salt or pepper or sweeteners from other tables lots of times. I frequently run out of whatever I'm drinking. The waitstaff is typically overworked or under trained. In their defense, it's got to be a tough place to work with the kitchen being downstairs and the 2nd dining area out over the marina. Oh yeah, and it's HOT. But you don't go to this place for the food or the service. You go because you can get there on a boat and because you can eat outdoors and overlook the lake. On a busy day you'll see some nice boats coming in and out of the marina. Be sure to save some french fries and feed the carp at the entrance to the dock. They're huge and hungry and have been feeding there for as long as I can remember. Keep an eye out for the occasional catfish. read more

This is the bar/restaurant at Dons Port Marina on Cedar Creek Lake. It a great atmosphere with and outside area over the top of the boat slips. Burgers and sandwiches are really good with a good selection and a plate of nachos will feed two with no problem. Tea comes in a large glass so you don't have to wait for a refill. Lunch is good always, but the night time menu can be a little iffy at times. Service is frequently slow and that takes points away. read more

The wait staff is young but we are locals and very glad to see decent employment opportunities for our young people.
