Horrible experience with "color specialist" Janet. I came in with VIRGIN HAIR wanting a very natural blonde balayage with the some lived in highlights. She recommended I do a full head balayage so that's what we went with- $420 btw. Not only does she not know how to foil, she over processes the bleach in your hair causing hair breakage! I came in wanting a thin natural money piece and she bleached a 2 inch band around the front of my face that was ORANGE. She went two rounds of bleach on my virgin hair and when the color didn't come out like she expected, she did rounds of low lights. The front of my hair feels so brittle and the balayage is not even noticeable from the back because she didn't foil correctly. Completely horrible experience and the salon refused to give me a refund. Save your hair and go elsewhere. read more

I came here for a cut and highlights. I had Michele do my highlights/color and was very happy. My hair seems to oxidize in the FLA sun though I think that happens to everyone. I have several low lights in my hair which makes my hair darker but I'm ok with that as I want to wait a little to see how it all turns out (meaning a few days - week). I had a great cut by Elle. I need to have my hair easy to blowdry or not blowdry at all - I work full time, I play a lot of sports and don't have enough time to spend on pampering myself. Everyone is very nice here and patient. You can have water, coffee, wine - relax while you are getting your hair done. It is a bit pricey so that's the only thing.They also sell clothes in the shop as well if you feel like browsing. Plus I didn't realize that they charge you a percentage to use your credit card. I didn't realize this until the next day. I did call and suggested that they tell a new customer on the phone about it - if you pay with cash or check you are not responsible for any charge (I had a check with me, by the way). I was a little disappointed that they just said I'm sorry and didn't do anything about it. Hmmm BTW, they have parking in the back (which is a pretty full lot) or you can look for it on the street. read more

I loved El to cut my hair at Dirty Blondes in Boca Raton. in the last couple of years I've been going there. Today I went to get my hair cut and she totally blocked me out. My hair was down my back and I asked her to cut it shoulder length and layer it. She wanted to stack the back and I said please no , my hair is real thin, I'm a former cosmetologist. I know it wouldn't work with my hair. She did not listen at all and just went ahead and did what she wanted to do. , I'm in shock , my hair is so short , stacked and a real older look. I hate it . I will never go back . She didn't listen to one word of what I said. Why didn't she listen to me Now I have to live with this disgusting hair cut for 6 months until my hair grows back. Do not go to her . She is in another world and did not hear a word I said.I hate my hair and I have my nieces wedding in 3 weeks. I'm sick about this and she should get fired because she did not listen to the customer. The last photo was my hair that I wanted shoulder length not chin length. So upset. I still look at my hair and as of June 2nd I still hate it. I'm am still angry when I look at my hair in the mirror and I look at photos of months ago. So sad for anyone to live through this. I am new to the South Florida Area and have been searching for a good colorist and I was referred to Dirty Blond Salon through a Facebook group. My intent in sharing my opinion and review is to spread knowledge. Everyone that I encountered at the salon was very kind, attentive and friendly. I visited the salon for a base, highlights and cut. Another factor that I was not used to is the salon is set up that one stylist that does the color does not do the cut- so you see 2 separate individuals, based on their specialty. My cut was well done. It is unfortunate and I am very bummed but, my color is terrible- The base is darker than my normal hair. The highlights do not blend naturally throughout my hair. There are spots where there are no highlights and just the dark base, so when I pull my hair pack you can see patches. The highlights do not go to my scalp and it already looks as if I need my hair needs to be redone. Where I part my hair there is a huge gap; one side is the highlights other side is the dark base. I am very disappointed as I am pregnant, and it took a lot for me to go out and sit in a salon for many hours to get my hair done. I am embarrassed to pull my hair back or go out in public as it just looks awful. After my visit the salon did call to see how my experience was and I was honest and told them the truth. They did offer to redo my hair to make it right. But I chose to decline for numerous reasons; I don't want to sit again in a salon for a long period of time pregnant and high risk. I don't want my hair to be damaged, and I don't trust that the colorist will do a better job. I would have been more pleased with a credit which was not offered. read more

Do not go here if you care about your hair! I wanted a balayage, came in for a consultation a few days before! This is what the colorist made my hair look like. And that's after I went back the same day to get it "fixed". I had to go somewhere else and spend $500 to get it to look decent. I'm giving one star because I feel bad since my colorist was a very nice woman, but definitely did not know what she was doing. I can't believe I paid for my hair to look like this. I would rate this place a zero, if I could. I went there and had a haircut with Elle. We agreed to cut 3 inches straight across my very long hair. We agreed to a slight very long angle in the front. She proceeded to cut over 9 inches off the length of my hair in a crooked U-shape. The front pieces she cut over 15 inches up to my chin completely crooked with one side 2 inches longer than the other side. Nothing is blended into the sides. I have fine hair and it looks horrible. This is the worst haircut I have ever had since high school many years ago. After getting this cut and being upset I looked at the reviews on Yelp to find out that she did something similar to another woman. I am contacting the bank and disputing the charges. I called the salon and spoke to Robin. Robin suggested I come in to have Elle fix it! Are you kidding me? There is no excuse whatsoever for a hairdresser cutting pieces off over 15 inches long when I asked for 3 inches across the length. She should be fired and she should not have a license for this because she is not qualified. Shame on you Dirty Blonde Salon for employing a hairdresser who intentionally did what she wanted, did a horrible job, and did not listen to what the Customer asked for. Though this was her 1st time styling me, Michele was incredibly intuitive and knew exactly what to do to give me the most beautiful color and highlights to complement my skin tone. He showed up 20 minutes late and then dyes my blonde hair dark brown totally surprised me. When I questioned him he gave an attitude. The salon offered to switch colorists. The new one then proceeded to highlight my hair orange. All I wanted to do was leave but they convinced me they could still fix it. Well after 6 hours I left with greenish greyish soaking wet hair.
