Liz took great care of our pup and he looks and smells wonderful and is proud to show off his new cut. She was very attentive to Ozzie's fears and didn't hesitate to call me when she found something odd in his ear ( lol) She's got a very clean and peaceful space and offers some high quality treats as well. I do not recommend. The staff are fairly friendly. However, we had a couple of issues and are so happy we've decided to take our dog elsewhere. First Issue: We were told the grooming service would take 1-2 hours and would plan our day accordingly. Then we wouldn't hear from the groomer until 3-4 hours later. Consistently. Second Issue: We were being charged $150 per session and our neighbors, with a similar sized dog, we're only being charged $100. So glad we moved on to a new place. read more

We followed our groomer up from East Greenbush and this is a much better location! What I noticed first about the business is their level of communication and when I look at all the other employees and I see Smiles on faces. Saratoga is a nice place to visit with lots to do, and they just text me when Ava is ready 20 minutes out and everything about the process is easy. I highly recommend this groomer. read more

I have been rescuing dogs for 25 years and used Bown Dog Pet Spa. Dirty Dogs By Liz, as it came to be called was simply because one of the women that worked there, bought out the previous owner and renamed it. When the business changed names and was now owned by "Liz"; I continued to go there as it was familiar and I like continuity. They got quite a bit of business from me as I bathe/groom my dogs typically every 8 weeks. In addition to the prices, I would always tip Liz at least 22% I would say. I was a client for OVER 15 years and followed all of her rules, which over time, began to increase. For example, no retractable leashes allowed- you had to make sure the dog was brought on a straight leash, or the late rule policy, of course, as well as pick up times. The rules were strictly enforced. There was even add'l charges if your dog did not "behave" to her standards and extra time was spent for example. Walking in there was extremely traumatic for my older girl. I had some marital issues causing a great deal of stress in my life. On a Friday just before Labor Day weekend my oldest had a bath and groom scheduled. My ex husband and I had been having a difficult time the day prior. So when the time came for my scheduled appointment to drop my dog off, just as I was leaving to get her there, my phone rang and it was Liz calling to make sure I was coming? If you are not there within 15 minutes of your appointment, she will not take you; especially if you are the last dog of the day, which I recall that we were. I told her we were on our way and would only be a few minutes late. Had she not called me and kept me on the phone, I would have made it easily within that 15 minute window! I don't really know why she called except she mentioned my ex had called her and mentioned that I might not be coming to drop my dog off for the bath for some reason. I thought it was inappropriate for her to call me about that, thus causing me to be even later! For some reason, she did not think I was going to make it in time even though I only live with a few min of the shoppe. She tried to discourage me from coming because she was not going to wait if I was even one minute past the 15 min hard stop; because she had plans to be somewhere. I finally agreed because she offered to do my dog the next morning instead, and I thought well no big deal and if she's in a hurry, I don't want her to rush because my girl needed quite a bit of grooming as she is an 85 pound large breed with a thick undercoat. The thing is, she continued to talk to me for about 45 minutes at least! The topic became about the situation with my ex and she even shared she had been in a similar type of marriage, or relationship I'm not sure? She allowed, invited even me to open up, and because she was a woman and I had no one else to speak to about my awful situation, I guess I did share with her personal things that in hindsight, I probably should not have. However it was not as though I did not know her, or she asked me to stop the conversation because remember she had said she had to be somewhere-and that's why she couldn't take my dog. It was rather ironic that she could spend 45 min on the phone about my personal life, but could not follow thru with the appt I scheduled? I must admit it was emotional for me, and I may have cried. I had found her to be very strict with her rules and never thought of her as an empathic type of person, so this was very surprising to me that she sounded like someone or I could talk openly, and confidentially to another woman, and mostly that she cared what was happening to me! I could not have been more wrong about her motivations for encouraging me to open up. Long story short, I get a text msg from her later that evening, telling me she was not going to be able to do my girl the next morning as she had promised; she had plans and that either my ex or myself could give her a call on Monday and she would see what she had for her next available! I was livid, b/c this #2 appt she was blowing me off for. My dogs are like my kids, and I try to give them everything they need- to be happy, healthy, well adjusted dogs! In any event, I did text Liz back over that weekend to be sure she was going to reach out to us for an appointment ASAP. So I received a response on Monday morn that she was "no longer going to be able to groom or bathe/groom my dogs!" She stated that she felt her "professional boundaries were not being respected"! She suggested I look for a mobile grooming unit!! I believe she may have wished me luck and that was it! WOW! So now I suddenly have no groomer, and both girls were slightly overdue. Very difficult to find a good groomer on short notice. The point was that I was a client for over 15 years with multiple dogs. Her gratuities were always above average. To this day, I have never confronted her, about how low I think she is for doing that to me, after all the biz I gave her. One day.. I will run into her! read more

It's was Durham's first hair cut and hand stripping. Liz took such good care of him and was super sweet/accommodating to him and my needs. I love that she made sure to keep his puppy hair on his face and just shaped him up. She was super flexible and got me in for a first time hand stripping appointment for the pup fairly quick! I can't say enough good things about Durham and my experience with Liz. Even during COVID, I felt very safe there with her policies in place and the place was very clean! I would highly recommend this place to everyone. read more

Liz did an amazing job with our Shih Tzu and Morkie! We've adopted them and had them each for a year now and this is the best haircut they've had! We've taking them to several places down in Florida where we live and they've been ok. However, when we came up here to NY, Liz was recommended to me and my wife said she did the best job! My wife is very particular too with the cuts and loves to dress them up. Liz is also very loving with the dogs. She is great if we ever change apt or move around the time she works with us she gives him a great shave down clips his nails and gives him a coconut shampoo bath bc he has dry skin and give him silky coat !
