I also asked the cashier what the $1 "Custom Item" was on my receipt and she moved a bottle opener out of the way to show me a sticky note on the register that mentions a $1 charge for using a card. My bad for missing that, I guess. I can understand a local business needing to raise prices to survive right now, but this was practically deceitful. When you walk it, they have a little grocery area and the pastry counter. As you walk past the grocery aisles, you can find the restaurant seating area, which is a pretty big space. I was a bit short on time, so I chose some empanadas and some pastries to go. I tried the chicken, beef, and ham & cheese, which were all delicious. I got this pastry with a fruit similar to guava, which I devoured as well. The staff was super helpful and very patient with me and my indecisiveness. She ordered a dozen with a couple gluten free and the lady REFUSED to package them separately. My mom mentioned the allergy and she just didn't even care. Not to mention my mom made a very large expensive order. The only reason we even went there in the first place was for their gluten free bundt cakes. She even asked to just buy one to eat then and the lady wouldn't even sell her just one. Talk about horrible customer service. I'm bummed because of how much we love their other locations, but we will never be back to this one. It's not hard to have good customer service, so how poorly my mom was treated is so upsetting.
