Since Sept 2023, all the Lowe's officially became Rona+. So this is one of those stores that get…read moreturned from a Lowe's to a Rona. The attitude of the staff that greets you in the front door was super rude even on opening day (whom I presume to be the manager; a black guy with very short hair and wears glasses). We thought we would take our own buckets since it's for the first 150 or 200 customers on grand opening day, says the flyer. He thought we were stealing or something and his tone was very bad. Why didn't he stand right next to the buckets when we entered then? And he made up rules that it's one per family while it clearly says on the flyer that it's one per customer. How could he prove that when two people with different last names and different addresses be a family? I don't know. He just makes assumption. Other staff were nicer but not very efficient, which I don't think is related to the new opening. We dealt with a total of 5 staff to eventually get the orders done. First we asked staff 1 where to find certain item. He didn't know where it is and has to ask someone else. So we kept following him and walking back and forth. Eventually we found the products and go to check out. Then staff 2 who helped us check out messed up with our purchases and we have to return. Then staff 3,4,5 helped us return and repurchase and gave us the promotional gift card (buy $100+ and get $25 gc). And all of these assistance while checking with multiple people took us over half hour to purchase 3 simple items. It's not about the systems not compatible or need time to merge or something; it appears to me that each person may know just a little bit of something and so no one person knows how to follow through(?) To be honest, rona price isn't the most competitive and so if you don't have gift cards to use like me; I'll shop else where. So in the end, the store values "customer" who just walk in and out to take the bucket and not value "real customer" who have just dropped $500 in one visit. You can gauge what kind of culture Rona+ has.

My husband and I had come strait from the gym, therefore I wasn't even carrying a purse. We picked up the watering can and a shopping basket, picked up a few bags of liquorice, as we walked around a small area much like a dollar shop, there was a rack with sunglasses with a sign staying they were all $5 a pair. I asked a young guy who worked there if that was the price as they had stickers stating various prices. He said yes, they are all $5, only then did we feel a woman in a home hardware uniform following inches behind us, I asked if we were in her way, she said no she wanted to make sire we knew the price! yet she was standing right there when had asked. Then everything we looked at i.e., ($1.25' or $1.50, items etc, ) there she was. she even followed us when we went to pay 'another cashier' so I said "Are you the manager"? she said "oh no I'm a cashier". people, Home Hardware is no Holt Renfrew, plus section we were in was like a dollar shop. We would never ever go to this location again, we'll stick to Home Hardware on Wellington Street in Aurora from now on. Upsetting behaviour, if she's titled herself as SECURITY then at least take off the bright red uniform, pathetic individual.

Home hardware searched there data base, found exactly what I wanted "on sale" and ordered it from the warehouse. I got a call back 2 days later to tell me it had arrived in the store. I went over next day paid for it and brought it home. I can't say enough about the exemplary service at this store. It's always a pleasure interacting with staff here.

Bought a Napoleon Prestige BBQ at this store August 16, 2023. We like to buy Canadian if we can…read moreand we know Napoleon is a good product. The store even put it together for us which was great. This BBQ works great, it is at our cottage, and it has not been used that much. When we went to change our propane tank in July 2025, we noticed the doors that open there are lined with a hard plastic. This plastic is all melting. None of our other BBQ's had plastic inside these doors. We did not notice it as we had not needed to change our propane tank. We reached out to the store and they said that since it is past a year, we need to contact Napoleon - which we did try to do. Spent over an hour on two tries to get through to customer service. Then tried on line with no response. My husband called the Aurora store and spoke with the BBQ person - they then submitted our claim. That was August 6 - no word back yet. Not very happy. We thought shopping at a local Canadian store and buying a Canadian BBQ would be the best. But not happy. I have some good pictures of the melting doors if anyone wants to see them. We would like metal doors for this BBQ. We have been looking at BBQ's now when we are out and they all have metal doors - just like our old BBQ's.

I am a contractor running a large active construction site and I have been a loyal Home Depot…read morecustomer for years. I am writing this review hoping it actually reaches someone at corporate, because I am at a decision point with where I take my business. First, the good, and it is genuinely good. Sara at the Newmarket Pro Desk is exceptional. She singlehandedly manages a constant flow of orders for my site, coordinates same day delivery when I am in a bind, anticipates what I will need before I ask, and communicates clearly by phone and email throughout. I have worked with a lot of suppliers over the years and she is in the top tier of any account manager I have ever dealt with, full stop. If every Home Depot location had a Sara, you would not lose a single contractor to a competitor. She is the reason I am still here. Now the part corporate needs to hear, because Sara cannot fix this on her own. Pricing has become a real problem. I am increasingly finding significantly better numbers going manufacturer direct on the same materials. Home Depot's stated policy is to price match, and Sara does her best to honour it on every order, but in practice the matches frequently do not go through. That is a serious issue for two reasons. One, it is your own published policy, and when it is not applied consistently it erodes trust in the relationship. Two, the entire value proposition of consolidating my purchasing under one supplier is convenience and time savings on a busy site. When the price match falls through, I am forced to split orders between Home Depot and the manufacturer, which defeats the purpose of being here in the first place. I lose the efficiency, and you lose the volume. The system on the back end also needs attention. Orders get held up internally, inventory data does not always match reality, and processes that should be straightforward sometimes take longer than they should. Sara works around all of this constantly, but on a real construction timeline these delays cost me money. Here is the honest situation. I spend a serious amount with Home Depot every year. I want to keep doing that, because Sara has earned it and the location works for my logistics. But the math is getting harder to justify. If a real conversation can be had about more competitive contractor pricing, consistent price matching as your policy already promises, and better volume discounts that reflect what an account like mine actually contributes, I will happily continue and grow that volume. If not, I will be moving more of my purchasing direct to manufacturers and to suppliers who will negotiate. I am not writing this to complain. I am writing it because I would rather fix the relationship than walk away from it. If anyone at corporate wants to have that conversation, I am easy to reach through Sara.

Trash trash trash. This Home Depot is 100% inadequate and…read moreI'm so so unimpressed with the service here. It took over 45 minutes for the staff to find ONE item. The website said the item was in stock here and nobody would help us and look for it - they kept routing us to another staff member, and tell us "sometimes the website is wrong and it's actually out of stock" in hopes we'd give up and go home. Unlucky for them, we had a tree struck by lighting so we NEEDED the tool asap and refused to leave because we knew it was in stock here- and we were right. Nobody wanted to go look for it/find someone who could help us until we were routed to a higher up manager who had to go pull it out from a high shelf somewhere. Then when the cashier when to scan the box, she broke it open and there was some random junk stashed in it- she glared at us and we were accused of stuffing stuff in there and shoplifting. Being a minority in Newmarket is hard, I tell ya. We said "the manager just pulled it from the top shelf- you can ask him" and she finally let it go with a stare down, huge eye roll and a "sure he did." The box was all broken and gave my bf a deep cardboard cut because she ripped it. Overall- horrid service, especially during the day time. Please be kind especially during this time. It costs literally zero dollars to be a nice person. (Also Home Depot is homophobic and racist- google it. It was our last option. Support Lowe's instead)
