The most frustrating, unprofessional, and absolutely worst experience ever! I contacted Compound Security to check on my automatic gate that was not functioning at the self storage facility I own. I told them one of the wheels was making a strange sound and the gate was hanging. A repair trip was scheduled. No one ever showed. I contacted Compound Security and was told very bluntly that they were busy and would be there when it was "convenient" for them and not before. After several more weeks waiting and the total wait now being well over a month, I looked at the gate again myself and finally found the issue with the wheel. After simply changing the wheel, the gate then worked just fine. I contacted Compound Security and told them not to come and to cancel any schedule as the gate was fixed. The gate worked fine for almost two weeks when I then found it stuck open and the electric eye broken. I checked my facility surveillance and found that a Compound Security tech had shown up unannounced. The tech squatted down and opened the gate controller (I originally reported a wheel problem and not a controller problem). When the tech went to stand up, he leaned on the electric eye and broke it off. He then tried to fix the electric eye by putting a zip tie around it to hold it in place. At that point, he got in his van and drove off leaving the gate standing wide open. The gate worked before he arrived, and it did not work after the tech finished breaking the gate and leaving the gate standing wide open. The worst part of this is that Compound Security then billed me for a trip charge and gate repair. The repair invoice listed the issue with the gate being a broken electric eye. When I contacted Compound Security about this outrageous, invalid, and fraudulent charge as well as inform them that I had their tech on surveillance. Their response was to immediately send me a notice of lien if I did not pay their bill. So, Compound Security never came when called and scheduled. Then, after the repair request was canceled, they still came unannounced and with no permission to be on the property. They broke a working gate. The driver literally was sitting in his van in front of the open gate and simply drove off. And, after all this, Compound Security bills for work performed and then threaten a lien if it is not paid immediately. I would never, ever use Compound Security again for anything. read more

My community was fraudulently charged for services Compound Securities did not perform. They sent in two estimates, we did not move forward with either. They then billed our Management company as if the work was done. I contacted their Accounting Team three times, the Management company contacted them numerous times and they will not reply. We are owed a refund for work never undertaken. This on top of leaving our gate non-working with brand new equipment for months upon months. We spent well over $13k to have one of our gates fixed. They did the work, never tested that the gate worked and for months they sent out the Key Stone cops to fiddle around, never fix the gate and then leave. I have emails and texts that I am happy to share with anyone considering using this company. Not only did they not check that our equipment worked, they would throw the old wires, metal components and screws into our bushes near the Lift Master Gate box during visits. We eventually were forced to part ways with this company as their staff kept changing, their former employees told us to run and again they fraudulently charged us for wok they never undertook. Don't buy the bullshit that Chris S. the owner will respond. I saw he responded to other negative Yelp reviews but after leaving him many voicemails he never responded. My next step is reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and directing our lawyer to file a lawsuit. read more

Our HOA paid this company to build a fence, 2 gates and a fire gate. They built the fencing and the gates (the fire gate is not right), then refused to program the remotes and get the gates functional. They also overcharged for footage of the fencing. They then started saying they won't do anything else until we pay them more for the fencing they overcharged us for! Now they are not taking calls from our HOA contact even though they said they wanted to talk about everything. When we said yes, we would like to get this sorted, they ignored us and are no longer in contact with anyone here. When we hired this company, it was run by someone else who came to our HOA meeting and told us all these things they were going to do for us. Halfway through the project, someone else bought the business and they are unwilling to get the gates operational. We are now shopping around to find another company to take over and program the gates for all of us in the community and get us up and working. Unacceptable. I contacted CSS to make some repairs to our entrance gate, but also found out they install security cameras too. Marco and Robert came out last week to install our security cameras at our front entrance and did an excellent job! They explained how the systems works and setup the app on my phone to access the video footage. Overall, the team at CSS is very professional, quick to respond and they get the job done. We will definitely use them for all our security and entrance gates needs in the future. read more

Love the folks at Compound and trust them with repairs on my campuses (local Austin non-profit). Most recently we had some late day issues with a gate keypad that we needed to resolve same day. I called and spoke with Sandra and explained the situation. She let me know their status (most folks were gone for the day) but let me know she'd get me in touch with a technician who was still out/on call. Marco, the technician, called me just a few minutes later. I explained the situation, he pulled up the same instructions I was looking at, and walked me through how to resolve the issue. We had some technical difficulties but he stuck with me and we eventually got it resolved. The techs Jorge an Pedro were very professional an knowledgeable about New Lift Master elite the Vehicular slide gate opertor system they installed. They made sure to go over the system and safety features. We look at every possible system from computer back, keypad backup, so that our customers would be able to access their belonging in safe an timely manner. We have been customers of this company for many years and up until the last two had been decent to deal with. Now in my personal opinion they have become horrible to deal with. Took 2 months to get a quote and then when I did it was nothing that resembled what was discussed by their rep who came out. Tried to get an understanding why they quoted something that was not discussed. Won't go into all of the details but if I had an employee respond to customer the way their manager did she would not be employed very long. This review is based on my direct experience as a user of these products and service as the Vice President of my HOA. I helped choose Compound as our contractor and I personally approved payment. ----------------- At our community pool, $15K was paid for a new set of HD security cameras, the rebuilding of our security gate and a new gate entry/security system - and overall I would rate our experience with this company and their product as poor. There have been three main issues driving our poor experience; 1.) the gate entry system operated inconsistently during first several weeks of operation (not all users were consistently permitted access to our pool, which drove a large number of complaints from the community to our Board members), 2.) rebuild of our entry gate (to meet local city and county codes) and our Amenity Center were not solid. The pool entry gate would not even latch at one point (permitting ANYONE to have access to the pool at any time which is a LIABILITY for the HOA and its members) and the door to our Amenity Center would not close securely on a consistent basis, 3.) no one in the community has been trained by Compound on how to operate the camera systems - nor will Compound send us any instructions(they haven't even offered to do Web-ex remote training, a tool that is very popular today). As mentioned above, we have paid in full, so there is little excuse for Compound to NOT provide the services they agreed to. Their customer service has been slow to non-responsive. You may want to consider paying more, as quality and service after sale are with Compound Security are poor. Recommendation; AVOID this company. read more

Reached out to this company because of a referral. Had a great response to a simple question "Cost of Gate Maintenance?" over the phone. Requested a follow-up email with the rates. Never received one. Sent email again re-requesting. Never got one. Finally got a response after CCing all the President and VP of the Company and letting them know I would not need their services after all. Received a response asking me if I was still interested. Sad thing is, a person I know talked to the President and let them know I was willing to take another look if they reached out to us, but alas, that did not happen.. Two years ago I had this company install $15,000 worth of gates on my property and I was happy with the installation. I want to upgrade the previously installed gate operators and add another gate. I contacted Compound Security and was sent a form to request a quote. After returning the form I was told that I would be contacted with a quote. After 8 days I contacted them again. Quality of work is ok. They were extremely slow to respond to some issues we had with our automatic gate. When they finally did call us back (after multiple attempts over several days to get them to come,) it was only after we finally spoke to the owner. They seem to be knowledgeable but just have very poor customer service. They eventually got the job done right, but I would be hesitant to recommend them to anyone. read more

Auto Gate has been out to our home several times and has always done a great job. Even the receptionist seems to know a lot and can assist with easy to fix problems over the phone. The service technicians always call first, are prompt and very professional. The service we used before took weeks to even call us back so we were relieved to find someone who is reliable. read more

I work for a property management company... i have always bought my remotes from these guys. Stopped by the other day, the guy im used to dealing with wasn't there. Another guy "helped" me, but he was rude and seemed upset when he found out i only wanted one remote.
