Had them come out to provide an estimate on a fence repair or replacement. Gave very clear instructions on what I did and did not want, spending well over an hour in-person and more time in straightforward follow-up questions. Basically ignored half of my requests and didn't answer the most straightforward questions (that every other fence installer provided, no questions asked). Multiple times, stopped responding, and after I reached out again, said they would get back, but didn't. Don't waste your time. read more

Richard Novigrod with Sierra Fence did a great job at our neighborhood park. His crew installed a nice 8 foot steel fence for us to stop trespassers from entering at night. He really worked with us to make sure it looked good and would be easy for our community to maintain and operate. Richard was very conscientious when welding at the edge of our forest. He said he would not weld during windy conditions, but the day he was welding it was calm and he used a hose to wet the ground around the welder. Horrible craftsmanship. We were made to believe it would be an experienced group of fence builders. These guys had no idea what they were doing (or if they did, then there was a huge lack of pride in the work.) Upon close inspection of our newly built fence my neighbor even asked "Are you sure they were a proper fence company?" Our fence is just under two years old now, the gates have never worked properly and the gap between each panel is so far apart the whole idea of privacy that we thought we'd be getting out of an 8ft fence seems like a joke and huge waste of money now. We asked them to return to fix several mistakes made in the sloppily built panels and gates and each time they ended up putting "bandaids" on them- nothing that has withstood the test of time like a quality made fence would have. The lumber they used was beautiful- what they did with it was not. Go with someone- anyone- else. You'll regret choosing this company. read more

My neighbor found this company to replace our shared fence. I let him choose, which was a mistake. The craftsmanship was terrible. I had to have them come out and redo my side, including lowering the fence to fill in the 4.5" gaps. The patchwork that they initially used for the gate was a mystery. I have been ready to continue with part two for sometime and have texted, called and emailed and have not gotten a response from anyone in months! Super frustrating. So we recently moved to Austin Tx and bought a house with a couple of Acres of land. This was shortly followed by my wife deciding to rescue a German Shepard from a local charity. Even quicker was the realization we needed a fence and quick to contain her due to her strong desire to wonder and chase the deer. I had never really undertaken a project so large and decided to do my homework thoroughly by getting quotes from several vendors in the area. Initially I was really disappointed as I had a survey map of the property and wanted to fence in all but the front garden. EVERY single vendor came and tried to spin their wheel over the dead tree's in the garden getting wildly different measurements. Richard was the first one to look at the map and realize he could measure the front garden and deduct that from the survey reading. Such a simple idea but it really showed me he was on his A game. Next, we walked up to the back of the garden to find the corner markers. I knew where one was but couldn't find the other. Richard looked at the map, paced out the approximate distance (again over dead tree's) and stopped within 2 ft of the marker that was hidden. This man clearly knew what he was doing. As the bids came in I was really set on going with Richard but was worried his price would be too high as he has been the most professional of all who quoted. This was not the case and he was able to offer a very competitive price which we agreed to move forward with. We had a ton of dead tree's needing clearing and Richard put us in contact with another company to get a quote. In the end we decided to tackle this ourselves as it was the perfect excuse to buy a new chainsaw! Richard was very understanding that this would take us longer and put absolutely zero pressure on trying to move us along to get the job started it was all on our pace. We finally had the garden cleared and scheduled a date for Richards crew to come out and start work. His team were here on time and got to work immediately drawing a string line along where we would be placing the fence. I was offered to come and inspect it and agree I was happy with it. They then began to dig the post holes in the rock. It really is solid rock in the garden and it didnt deter these guys. They were able to dig and set the posts for 1150ft of fence in 2 days which was incredible. We then switched things up on Richard and asked for an additional vegetable garden fence to be laid which was absolutly no issue to him. One thing that really impressed me was that when they were doing the fence there was a mistake made where one post was set slightly too far from the next (talking cm's) and they could have put an extension on the panel and took the easy way but instead they dug out the old post, moved the hole, set a new post and got it perfect. The team was fantastic and so polite and courteous. Our rescue dog is extremely fearful of men and we suspect she has had a bad past with them but Richards team were so accommodating and gave her space. We are now in a position where we have an amazing fence that goes over some crazy terrain and they done a fantastic job. Our dog is now contained and can spend her hours roaming the garden and enjoying the sunshine. I really couldn't recommend Richard enough and wanted to leave this review as token of my appreciation and let others know how great he is. If you are sitting on the fence (pun intended) about choosing Sierra Fence you will honestly not be disappointed in the slightest at the quality of service and product you will get. read more

Expected more... did an okay job with the install, other than they hit and severed the marked internet cable running through my yard, causing needed repairs from my internet provider. Pickets started majorly warping/bending 3 months after installation and huge sections of the fence were pulling away from the posts. Had to follow up repeatedly to get warranty repairs completed, and when they did come out to replace some of the majorly bending areas of the fence, didn't do a great job (some of the pickets they replaced were not actually nailed to the fence rails... I've learned now that a little bit more money might've been worth the time, effort, and quality of my fence. Oh well. read more

Hector and Sierra Fence did a solid job. Hector showed up on time and gave me a bid the same day. I got 3 different bids. Sierra and one other company were about the same. A third company was significantly higher. Once I accepted the bid, Hector scheduled me for the very next week. The crew came right at about 8 a.m. and demo-ed the old fence and set the new posts on the first day. They put up the new fence the following day. I got horizontal cedar pickets for the sections facing the street (for curb appeal) and standard vertical cedar pickets for the other sections (to save a little money). A minor situation arose with an elderly neighbor concerned about property lines, and Hector addressed it very patiently, which was above and beyond his job. All in all: 1) the fence looks good, 2) the price was competitive, 3) they showed up on time. read more

Hector and his crew did an excellent job on replacing my fence. They were professional, timely, respectful of surrounding plants/structures, and delivered a beautiful product. Part of my fence was blown down my a storm and was on its last legs in many other spots. Decided to replace the whole backyard fence. Richard found our property line pins from day one (which most companies won't commit to and I get it) and that changed everything for us! I can't review based on fence installation because I never even got a quote. I left a VM on 7/10 to request a quote, my call was returned on 7/16 and scheduled it for 7/17. 45 minutes after Hector was scheduled to come, I called and left a VM inquiring on if he was still coming. Never received a call back and he never showed up. I had to rearrange my plans that day so I could be home for him, and I was completely stood up by this company. Better to find out now, rather than hiring them and them not showing up or late for the job. read more
