I've been here a few times. Selection is ok, nothing crazy compared to other stores. Calling about in stock items is pointless - they'll say they have something and then not have it when you arrive and just waste your time or try to sell you other stuff instead. They say they buy guns, and I brought in a few but they didn't know what one of them was (even though it's stamped into the slide), tried to make it sound like they were all not worth much and lowballed me badly. Like disrespectfully badly lowballed me. I thought he was making a joke. One of the ones I brought was brand new and he offered me 20% of value. I had called ahead (and spoke to Andy) and it was still an absolute waste of time. I have only ever had bad experiences here and with so many better options in the city, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Not in a particularly great location on Highland near downtown, the range is older and poorly ventilated, the people behind the counter are purely salesmen and don't seem knowledgeable on what they're selling (or trying to buy) at all, and I think you're just better off going elsewhere to spend your money. read more

This is a well-stocked and well-maintained shop just a short distance bet ride from center of the Vegas strip. With the desire to purchase some ammo to do some shooting with a friend outside of Henderson, I walked from our hotel to this shop. Keeping it real: once you're off the strip... you're really OFF the strip; the neighborhood around this gun shop is an eclectic blend of commercial/light industrial with a healthy scattering of skin-dancin' joints. I didn't feel unsafe walking during the day, but it might have been a little sketchy at night. Once you're at the store, you're fine-- well lit, clean, and staffed by professionals. Upon entry, I was greeted by a young man behind the counter who was polite and helpful. No strange California Ammo purchase rules here, so I got what I needed for a good price and was on my way. This is also one of those spots in greater Las Vegas proper where you can squeeze off some rounds on an automatic at their indoor range. Buying ammo at the counter while you can hear someone just blowing through a magazine was slightly disconcerting, but the place seems to have both operations under control. Plenty of firearms in the glass case at better prices than my home state, but didn't linger on once my business was completed. I'm glad I checked this spot out, and will visit again. No hassle, good prices, great staff.... Three ways they beat a lot of CA firearms and ammo establishments. read more

Came by for some practice on a Sunday and was able to reserve 2 lanes. It's an OK price point to come and shoot your own fire arms especially if you have your own ammo. They seem to have a good selection of what you can rent as well. It's a convenient place to stop by so I'd inclined to come again. read more

A few years ago, I got my CCW and started exercising my 2A rights for personal protection and defense. I'm not a huge gun guy by any means. I enjoy visiting gun shops and occasionally going to the range to make sure I'm still relatively sharp in my shooting skills. For the first time ever, I visited Discount Firearms a couple days ago to use their indoor range. Considering their name and location, I didn't have high expectations. Boy was I wrong, on multiple levels. First of all, their retail gun shop is massive, well organized, clean, and spacious. Secondly, their indoor range is not only well maintained and fully electronic, but an EXCEPTIONAL value. I was greeted by the Range Manager and signed the necessary rules acknowledgement and disclosures. Paper targets were the standard $1.50, and you are welcome to Draw from the holster in your assigned cubicle. This is huge. I got there right at opening and was the first and only one using the range. I brought my own eye and ear protection, but they also provide it free of charge. Assigned to lane 8, I went in, hung up my target and used the fully automated and electronic target management system to adjust my target distance. The cubicle was sizable and included a separate bench for storage, a trash receptacle for your targets, and the broom for cleaning up your brass. I only had a few minutes before work so I only brought 3 magazines. I was done in about 20 minutes. Unlike many other ranges, discount firearms charges by the half hour which was ONLY $5 (plus targets). When I was done I was led out only spending $8. I topped the range manager and she gave me a locals punch card son I can earn a free session once I go a few times. Considering that is over and on top of the already phenomenal range value, it's just icing on the cake! Discount Firearms isn't in the best part of town, but don't let the exterior deceive you. This is an outstanding gun shop and indoor range that I'm thrilled to call my new home base. read more

I would have given no stars if I could've. we went there and paid to use the range. One of us took one shot, hit the target and they shut us down. Saying that my friend shot the carrier that is straight above our heads. . They claimed the trajectory from the bullet went straight up and made a small hole above our heads. This was not caused by my friend. Impossible! it wasn't a large caliber gun and she pointed straight at the target and hit the target. Maybe because we are older women, they took advantage of us. We felt terrible about how we were treated. I will never go back. I've used this range a few times before this. A staff member wore a Trump hat in the showroom--political gear in a public-facing business is divisive and unprofessional. I served my country honorably--not as a cook or a clerk, but in real combat--and I expect respect, not political theater. When I walk into a gun shop, I expect neutrality, discipline, and a welcoming environment for all lawful citizens. Instead, I was met with a display that felt like a slap in the face to veterans, minorities, and anyone who values integrity over ideology. I was being generous giving this business 1 star. I went there with my 2 friends to practice shooting. After waiting they gave three of us 1 booth when there were several empty booths. My friend took one shot with her pistol and hit the target but they shut us down claiming she hit the booth above her head. Then they charged her $25.00. There is no way she did what they said she did. They were rude and wouldn't listen to reason. It felt like they set us up. We will never go back. read more

If I could give a 0 star rating I would. This store (or at least most of its employees )is RACIST !! I thought I was letting my anger consume me, but as I read the comments I've only confirmed my suspicions. They discriminate and treat minorities like shit, ESPECIALLY if you look Hispanic. I specifically had a bad experience with a Caucasian guy with a MAGA hat on, ray ban glasses (guess he was filming content ?) and a shirt 3 sizes too small. I'm a Nevadian , ALL OF THE MEN IN MY FAMILY COLLECT WEAPONS.. and I'm starting to get into the hobby with my husband who I was with the day of. It is true that they have good prices but I rather pay more and go to a different location where I get treated like a human being. I was shopping around and found a small Glock which looked perfect size for me (I believe a 23?) and my partner was looking at a sick Gen 5 17. We were initially helped by a young guy who showed us the 17 then he got busy with another customer and I was still taking my time looking I finally found what I liked and my partner found something he liked, when I call the guy over to the counter (the tight shirt guy) I ask him to take a look at it, he looks at me first Thing he asks is if we reside in NV, I thought it was weird as I hadn't heard anyone else ask that and I confirmed, he proceeds to ask me if I know what this is and I answer " a Glock" I can tell by how he was treating us that something was off. He then tells me he can't sell me this gun because he assumes I'm going to buy it for my partner (tall Hispanic young guy ) , I was in utter shock and disbelief,, my partner has a CCW and was planning on buying a 17 as well. I couldn't believe what I was hearing, me and tight shirt guy start going back and forth and me and my husband proceeded to just leave the store before anything escalated, as everyone behind the counter was just staring. I left with a bad taste in my mouth and I felt discriminated ! There was multiple ppl shopping and we were the only ones that got that treatment !!! I have not been to discount firearms new store before. I was pleasantly surprised ! Their range is top notch, easily the cleanest and most pleasurable indoor range in the valley. The staff was courteous and helpful. The place is packed with quality firearms and gear. I will definetly be coming back, even though it is almost 20 miles from me, it is worth the trip. I ended up having some issues with my AR9 and Chris was super informative and helpful giving me insight into what the issue could be. He took the time to inspect a couple things as well. As of 11/2021 the shooting range is now $1.00 every 6 minutes. They charge $5.00 for every 30 mins PER PERSON. Keep in mind prior covid it was $10.00 to shoot all day per person. On a Saturday before covid there was a line to shoot every weekend with a wait. Now, going to this place there are no lines at these prices. The Staff has changed so much and honestly in a bad way. The people behind the counters KNOW NOTHING about guns and are rude. When I was given a gun from behind the counter, I carefully took it and pointed it towards the ground. A normal way to look at guns. The guy behind the counter advised me to point it up at the ceiling to not scare the customers. Clearly this place has ZERO gun safety training for their employees. I was told aiming the gun down at the floor scares customers. WOW really? This place has turned into a money gouge and lost it's place in the world. The older lady that always mans the range counter has been there for years and honestly has the personality of an angry gnome. This place just needs to shut down or get someone to buy the store that cares about its business. The prices are insane and so is the attitude. JUST SAY NO! read more

My partner and I took the CCW class with Geza. Geza made the 8 hour class fly by. You could just tell that he loves to teach it and he's extremely knowledgeable about firearms - safety, law, operation, etc. I can honestly say that I learned a lot of things from Geza that could possibly save my life one day. My partner and I actually have been going to this location for a couple of months now and we have had no complaints. I've bought my 43x from here and had a wonderful experience from that - knowledgeable staff behind the counter who help you explore ALL your options and never pressure you to purchase anything (or at least they don't make you feel like it). The range is pretty good, just wish it was bigger! The place is clean, the prices are fair! Their handgun selection is pretty extensive and the staff are knowledgeable. Went in to purchase some ammo and hearing protection. Asked and a lady said well that's all we have and she pointed to a display with cases of ammo. I was a bit confused so I went to another person and asked about the same ammo, she pulled some from directly behind her that was half the price and available for purchase in smaller quantities. I browsed around for more than a few minutes because I'm interested in purchasing a few more firearms to add to my collection; despite 3 people behind the counter where they were stored at not a single one acknowledged me or even asked if I needed anything. I've been to several shops in both Reno and Vegas and this is by far and away the most unwelcoming place I have been to in some time. If you're looking for a quality experience I'd spend my money elsewhere until this shop does some serious quality control on customer relations. read more
