I normally don't do reviews but I feel I have to after my experience today. I was pretty sure I had a nail in my tire as I had a slow leak in one of my tires. I had taken it to costco tires last week to have the look at it and try to repair it . They told me it was un-repairable. I'm like ummm nice try. I may be a woman, but I'm not dumb. They refused to fix the tire. This week I was finally able to take it to Discount Tires where Steven and Weston were super helpful. They talked to me about alternatives in case the tire was indeed un-repairable. Didn't feel pressured. Steven was awesome to work with and has a great sense of humor. They did find about a 6 inch nail in my tire and was able to repair it at NO COST. I will definitely be going back there in the future. Great job guys! read more

First and only tire shop I'll be going to. They guys here are super cool they estimate the time on installing but usually is less time than what they tell you! Which is good news. Shop is always clean and organized which makes me know these guys are good at what they do and trust worthy. Tires online are affordable compared to competitors don't hesitate with this place. Great Customer Service-These guys have it! So, a curb jumped in front of me on my way home late at night and I needed new tires...fast. Searched the internet for my tires and found that Discount Tire Store was the only place in ABQ that had the appropriate tires for my car in stock. Everywhere else I looked was special order only. Picked out my tires, made my reservation, got a follow-up phone call to confirm my appointment time, arrived at the location and was immediately taken care of in the most friendly and professional manner. I was told that it would take about 45 minutes to put my new tires on (4 of them). My car was ready in about 30 minutes, spare tire and tools were put away neatly in the trunk space and I was on my way. Thank you Discount Tire for your excellent customer service! read more

Tire pressure indicator light came on 3 days after they installed new tires. I checked the tire pressure and it was perfect, so I assumed it was a sensor problem. After about 3 months of the light being on, and me checking tire pressure weekly, I decided to call and inform the staff and ask what to do. The counter person said to just come by, wait in the pressure check line and that they would check the pressure and scan the sensors to verify their condition. The gentleman that directed me to the check spot, was not interested in hearing anything from me. He checked the pressure, did not scan the sensors, the pressure was fine, he said to back up and leave. I asked about the light, he said it'll go out once I start driving. 250 miles later, it's still on. I used to have real confidence in Discount, but not any more. He truly went above and beyond at every step of the process, and was so kind, professional and helpful- and all that at 15 minutes before closing time! Last time I'll buy tires at my dealership- used to go to Discount and they always honored every guarantee- now I'll be back as a customer-for-life! Felt the need to post a review after a Friday afternoon visit. I will preface this by saying I have been here several times in the past and had good service, but this last visit left something to be desired. I went in for a routine tire rotation/balance, and a TPMS issue. I inquired about the TPMS issue, and whether it could be all 4 sensors, or something else. Salesman said it was most likely the sensors and recommended all 4 be replaced. Salesman also stated it would be cheaper here vs a dealership, specifically said we charge $40 apiece, and they charge $$ amount. I agreed and said replace all 4. I mentally added it up to $160 at $40 apiece, and when the total came, it ended up around $260 for 4 sensors. I'm thinking, where did the extra $100+ come from? In my mind, I wasn't prepared to drop $260 on that issue that day, as I had been driving for weeks with the TPMS light on since it's an unnecessary feature anyway. (How did we ever drive without tire pressure sensors before?) I believe the salesman misspoke when he stated the price before he actually looked the sensors up. I figured as long as I was there I'd get it done, so I paid anyway. Fast forward to receiving the truck- as soon as I take the keys from the mechanic, I notice his hands were extremely dirty. Whatever, he's a mechanic. I start climbing into the cab and I notice dirt on the driver's seat seat cover . I climb back out and notice the driver's door handle is greasy/dirty/grimy. Now I'm ticked because I know they didn't put anything down on the seat before sitting down, and they don't wear any sort of mechanic's gloves. Maintenance 101 is pretty simple- anytime you work under the hood of a customer's car, you put some fender covers on the fenders. Any time you climb in the driver's seat, especially if you've been crawling around a shop floor, put something down before you sit in a customer's vehicle. On one hand, I was glad I had seat covers and it wasn't my actual seat, but on the other hand, my seat covers fit like a glove and re-installing that portion after washing took almost an hour. After I take the truck home, I look at the weights that were installed. Lucky me, they failed to install the stick-on weights on the inner wheel diameter, and instead installed weights on the outer rim. Although I have factory wheels, every time I've had the tires balanced/rotated there, I have specified stick-on weights. This time I did not specifically state that although the adhesive material is still on the inner wheel diameter, in the same spot they put the external weight! One would think since the tires were purchased and previously balanced there several times already (and since they used an automated source for maintaining customer records), stick-on weights would show up from the previous work orders. So now I see a cheap outer weight digging into my rim. UPDATE- so a follow-up to the outer weight incorrectly installed on my rim. It didn't even last the weekend. Now I have 2 gouge marks where it was installed less than 2 days ago. read more

Nothing sets you back more than a flat tire! I drove my car on a spare to Discount after spending 30 minutes in the parking lot after work with coworkers changing my tire. Discount was friendly, fast, and didn't try to sell me anything. I appreciated that they were able to get me in and out in under 30 minutes. I also appreciated that they took the time to not only put my spare tire back in its spot in the trunk but they also cleaned up the jack and other small pieces I used to change the tire. They didn't leave me a mess to clean up later. These guys are great! read more

I went into this store yesterday to check on my tire as my tpms light was on. The associate seemed friendly, but soon advised me that 2 of my tires were going to pop and he would only touch 2 of the 4 tires. He said I needed to replace my tires. I of course believed him but since I hadn't purchased my tires from there told him I'd be going to where I purchased them. I was petrified that I would get into an accident. I quickly took them to where I purchased them and they laughed at me. They assured me that were fine. I just want to warn people of this place. They prey on the weak. Covid times are hard already. Don't be fooled by these people. They are out to get your money. Always get a second opinion. Do not trust these people!! read more

I was having vibrations issues with my brand new trk. So Luke at Discount tire 1119 Juan Tabo personally match balanced my tires and found that one tire was more than 21lbs of road force. We came in with a screw in our tire that we discovered on our road trip home to CA. We were not even in the door when an employee came out to greet us. We were in and on the road in less than a half hour, and as we waited we saw each person greeted by a friendly employee. The biggest surprise came when the tire repair was completely free due to the fact that we had purchased a tire from discount on the way to NM when we had a blowout. Even though the tire that needed a repair wasn't purchased at Discount Tires, they still covered us. We are leaving New Mexico with a car full of future Discount Tire patrons! read more

The only other tire place I'll go to in ABQ is Leonard tire downtown, in emergencies. I have a warranty with my tires here at Discount , and they are rad. Fast, friendly, thorough, and extremely helpful. I had my 19 month old with me, and they were attentive towards that to make sure they didn't take a super long time. I love this place ;) read more

Always very friendly. They will make sales advice, but if you decline anything they move on. Low pressure sales. However, they wont fix a tire if its not safe to do so. Overall every time I come here I always leave satisfied. Even if I had to buy a new tire because I had a nail in the the sidewall. read more

This place was absolutely amazing from the word go. We had been towing our boat and had a blowout on one of the trailer tires about 20 minutes east of town. I found these guys on yelp and called. I spoke with Darren, who was extremely helpful... Making sure they had the exact tire that we needed in stock. He even offered to order a different one if we wanted it. In what was a pretty stressful situation... Pulled over on the side of the highway with a blown trailer tire... having someone so calm and knowledgeable really made the situation a lot better. Beyond that, we were pushing a tight deadline to get there by the time they closed, as we were waiting for AAA to come out and help us change the tire. Darren said to not worry, and to call when we were on our way. But wait... It even gets better. When we arrived at the store... Somebody came out to meet us right away even though there were plenty of other customers being helped. Jonathan came and took our blown tire and had The new one on the wheel in about 10 minutes. Now remember, we have a boat on a trailer that we had to back out of a parking lot. Guess what? No problem! Jonathan grabbed another guy from the shop and they literally walked out and literally stopped traffic so we could safely get back on the road. Unbelievable customer service. I have warranty coverage on the tires I purchased at Discount tire. I made an appointment online for routine balancing and rotation today. I Have 5 tires I rotate on my car, which I mentioned on my appointment form. When I checked In I showed the salesperson the extra wheel and explained where I wanted it when being mounted on the car. Upon picking up my car later I noticed the extra wheel had not been moved from the trunk of the car. After inquiring they indeed had not touched the fifth wheel. they quickly mounted it on the proper location. No big deal in itself except that this being a Subaru it is very important to keep all tires within 3/32" wear to avoid damage to the drivetrain. Previously I had to replace the tires on this car because due to similar sloppy practice at this and another Discount location in Albuquerque. When I had a blowout and went to have th extra wheel mounted, I was told it exceeded the allowable wear differential. Though they paid for one of the replacement tires, I had to pay for the rest myself, even though I had had the tires rotated and balanced at the recommended intervals. I dislike discount tire as a whole but I have dealt with this one the most but this is the end. I have had one problem after another and have to argue with managment everytime, The first of the problems was when a worker damaged my car on there lift, second time someone installed a staggered rear wheel and tire on the front of my car and I didn't realize it until I got home. Third and final time discount will ever touch my car was when I ran over a piece of plywood on the highway and flattened both front tires, (must have had stapples in it) I didn't realize it had done any damage to my tires until my tires were shredded to pieces and were making noise in the fender well (radio on and quiet lexus ride) at that point I was almost to my home so I pulled the rims off the car and took them to discount tire, upon ariving at the store I explained what happened to Phillip, a manager I believe, and he told me it would be covered under the road hazzard warranty, but Nooo! I came back 2 hours later to find my new tires mounted and the salesman saying I owe them $380 for the 2 tires! I explained that I was told they were covered under warranty, they all said no that's not possible and said I must have ruined them on purpose somehow and said I had to pay for the tires, I argued with them for about 15 minutes until the guy finally said he could warranty one tire. I am very angry that discount tire does not back up their warranty that I paid for and I will no longer do buisness with them read more

Worst experience I've ever had. I have done business with them in the past, but after today...never again. I would give this a ZERO star rating if I could. As everyone knows Discount is widely known for their honoring of competitor prices. This is not the case! I went in this morning with a WRITTEN estimate from another tire retailer and Discount refused to honor it. Not only that, the manager Andrew was extremely rude and unprofessional. Instead of offering a solution or an estimate from their store, he pointed his finger out the front window and said, "There is a Tire Factory over there, go talk to them." What kind of "manager" talks to anyone like that, especially a paying customer?? DO NOT GO TO DISCOUNT TIRE. EVER. read more
