This has been my auto shop for at least 7 years for multiple vehicles. Several years ago, I could get into the shop in short notice. These days, it's more like a three week book out, which must mean business is good. For this particular visit, we had several mileage maintenance issues that needed to be addressed. We were given a list by the Ford Dealership, and we brought that in for a quote with Cedar Crest Tire. The Ford Dealership also noted that we had evidence of an engine oil leak. I made the appointment at the beginning of July, and I got in on July 20th. They have a key drop box that we were able to use and leave the vehicle there the weekend prior. I got a call on Tuesday afternoon that my vehicle was ready for pick up. On my way into town, I swung by to pay the bill and get the key. I know that they have a ride service available, but I hoped by daughter would help me with the ride. We looked over the invoice and didn't see anything addressing the engine oil leak. He got a hold of the technician, and he said there was no evidence of a leak. Before bringing in the vehicle, I did call back to add an emissions service to the list of items, and that one was overlooked, but I wasn't billed for it either. Several decades ago this small business was great and repaired several of our vehicles. Within the past few years, our vehicles keep getting returned because of improper or poor repairs. In addition, the time to repair vehicles has taken longer than normal. Recently, we had a vehicle in the shop where it sat for seven weeks until it was repaired. During that time, the battery died and one of the tires was stolen from the car while on the premises. Interestingly, we were not informed about the stolen tire until a few days before we picked it up. Fortunately, the shop replaced the missing tire and rim. Upon our pick up of the car, after hours, we found that one of the studs was broken off and another bent/broken on the replaced missing wheel. Despite the tire being replaced, there was no notification about the damage to the two studs, ultimately leaving three lugnuts to drive on. Needless to say, this is a major safety issue. Sadly, this resulted in an additional repair that we opted to have done at another location. Although the shop honored the warranty of the original repair that it went in for seven weeks ago, it is heartbreaking to see this small business decline, over time, in the quality of service, repairs and communication, as experienced with two other vehicles of ours. Therefore it has been difficult to write this review but we feel that it is important to note that this is not an isolated event and that others should be aware of this experience. I wanted to support local business, so I took our little Honda civic there when I was told at jiffy lube that it needed a brake fluid flush. $100 something dollars paid. Fine. The next time I took it to get an oil change, I was told the fluid was just as bad as before, so it seems like they charged me but didn't actually do the work. In between that service, another vehicle needed an oil change. Took it down there and it was handled, or so I thought. Not even 1,500 miles into that I got a warning light saying to change my oil soon. Took it to jiffy lube again and asked them to tell me what the oil looked like coming out. Said it was very dark, so again, I suspect we paid for a service that wasn't completed. I'm so disappointed because I love to support businesses in the neighborhood but can't in this case because they aren't trustworthy. read more

Driving up N14 I look down and my tire gauge went from 38-15 in the matter of seconds--I pull into Cedar Crest Tires and wow! The customer service was top notch! Not only did they order me tires...the drive me home until it was ready. I needed the one that sadly I hit something but the other three were in bad shape! They got my new tires on--balanced and I was on my way...great prices, great warranty and superb customer service!! I will be going there for my automotive needs...they were wonderful and right here in our own backyards! read more

Caution: had some rear springs replaced---I purchased and brought in for installation. Had called and was told to bring in at certain time in a certain day. Waited over 2 hours next door. Was able to see vehicle taken in and brought back out---- took 23 minutes. I was charged nearly $280!! Sad that a local, well respected business can justify such a charge. read more

I have had work done here in the past and it took forever, but they got the job done. Called them to have more work done and they were too busy. Was going to be a week and a half before they could get to it. Ok, fine....make the appointment, and they call me THE DAY BEFORE at 3pm in the afternoon to tell me one of their mechanics was going on vacation. You can't look at a calendar a little sooner bro? Seriously? But that's just the beginning.....the only appointment they had was for another week and a half away, and that would be only for the diagnosis.....to fix it would be ANOTHER week and a half. Why would you a) not let me know earlier b) take ALL DAY LONG to run a diagnostic? Are you kidding? I mean, maybe they fired one of their mechanics but i have never spent so long of a time trying to get a repair from a shop and then have them do this. LAME in the extreme. LOOK ELSEWHERE. I guess this place is just for rich folk on their way to Santa Fe or something. read more

5 stars??? I wish I could give 10 stars!!! This place is quality through and through! The employees are knowledgeable and go above and beyond. I've had tires for cars, riding lawnmowers, oil changes, and a tow from here. I've also purchased water tubes from there. The gentleman in the front is wonderful. He is friendly and works hard to keep customers coming in. Every time I have called to find out if I could bring my car in, he has encouraged me to come right down. He's never put me off or said they were to busy. The one time that I was stranded on a parking lot with a very flat tire, he had a very nice young man race out right away. He was kind and my kids and I felt safe with him. He pulled the tire right off and transported us to the shop in the truck. Don't miss out on seeing "PJ" the cat. What a funny little fluff ball! Always hopping and pouncing on something until it's time to sleep on top of the printer, hence his name "paper jam". read more

Hands down, one of the best tire shop customer service I've ever had. I was in town for work, in a rental when I noticed my rear driver side tire was quickly losing pressure. I looked online, called them up and they stated they could get me in in fifteen min. Right as I showed up, the team was organized with the many customers, got me in, and they patched it up in thirty minutes. Very professional staff, well organized with the many phone calls they were receiving and customers. Would highly recommend this shop if you need any service done! I think they must have had a bad day today with two sick employees. I was told my oil change and small improvement to battery connection would take 45 minutes. After three hours I called, and it took them five minutes to even know which car I called about. The manager then promised it would be ready in 10 minutes. When I showed up 30 minutes later, they were still not done. It took another 20 minutes. Best part: when I left, I was told that they couldn't take care of the battery connection, and that it now required two people working together to start the car. They would therefore meet me outside so I could take the car over while it was still running. Sure enough, as soon as I stopped the car in the garage at home, it did not start again. Mind-boggling. Took me three minutes to fix myself with some steel wire. Wonder how someone less handy would have dealt with having a dead car in their garage. Positives: nice manager who gave me $50 off a *future* visit based on how long things took (before the battery connection debacle). read more

I would give these guys 5 stars for taking care of my wife's car while I was out of town . They towed her car from home with a no start condition , replaced a starter in 2 days time and picked her up to get her car. I tip my hat to you since I would have done it myself if I had been home. After I got home I did a little research after perusing the service order.... A starter motor that I can buy from a mopar/ dealer retailer at LIST price costs around $160 . They listed an Oreily part number that lists at $125.00 . I assume since this is what is listed this is what they installed. However, Cedar crest charged her $ 261.12. How about being fair to unsuspecting people and stop over charging. I know that automotive repair businesses have tight margins to operate in but gouging is uncalled for. read more

If I could give half a star, I would. These guys, despite being nice enough, are TERRIBLE. I think they feel like they have a monopoly on car repair up here in the Cedar Crest area, so they don't have to actually do good work or be communicative. The last time I went here with my husband to have our Nissan Murano repaired, this is what happened: We talk with Craig (? I think that's his name...) about what needed to be done: oil change, some specific part that was like $100, new insulation for the hood because pack rats had eaten it during the Nissan's non-driving tenure for the past three years, and one other thing that they need to price check and would call us to have us approve. Okay, great. We will wait for their call. We wait and wait and wait, and finally the next day I call to find out what's up, and they say "Oh, your car is ready!" Ummm, okay. So, we get on down there to pick up the car, and a) the new insulation has not been installed--they hadn't even ordered it from the dealer and acted surprised when we asked about it and b) the part that required our approval they had just gone ahead and installed it. GRRR. Fine, whatever. We had a coupon for a free oil change that time, so we used it. They had mailed it to us MONTHS ago when we moved to town, and when we presented the coupon, they said "Oh, are you new in town?" Despite the the fact that this was maybe the SEVENTH time my husband or I had been in and introduced ourselves. Another time (before the Nissan experience), it turned out that my BMW needed new tires and they needed to be rotated--it was shuddering at 60mph. Before I realized this, though, Cedar Crest tire said it was something to do with some belt that was off-kilter, and they'd be happy to do a diagnostic and try to fix it for us. I was already suspicious by that point, so took my BMW to Costco where they put on new tires & balanced them. No more shudder. AVOID these guys. SRSLY. Go into town to Duke City Automotive instead. read more

We we're traveling the country in our RV when our tire shredded apart .We tried calling our road side assistant but they never showed up. Luckily Cedar Crest tire was 5 miles away they came out and changed our spare immediately and efficiently and the mechanic Dennis was very friendly .Nice to know there are still good people around that will go above and beyond for someone who lives 2000 miles away . I recently moved to the east mountains, and when I had a tire that needed repairing I wanted to shop local and avoid driving into town on a sketchy tire. I looked up the two auto shops nearby, and these guys not only had good reviews, but were the only ones open on a Saturday. I was on a tight schedule and they accommodated me without issue. Went here for an emissions test and was very happy. They quoted a 20 minute wait and it was only a 20 minute wait! I had no appointment, got in and out quickly. After some initial disputes over services per cost, CCT promptly contacted us about making it right, making sure to go above and beyond the initial complaint to fix any issues with the vehicle as well as make up for the extra charges on an previous repair. Wow. Don't ever go here. They are nice people but they sure do rip you off. I needed a hazard light replaced. They charged me 85 dollars to figure out the problem. Then they said it was going to cost another 200 to fix it. I said ok. I looked it up online and found out that it was easy to do so I called back and asked why it would cost 170 they said the part was $80 and another $85 of time because they had to take off the dash. So I said Id do it myself. Turns out the part only cost $40 not $80. And I bought it from the exact Carquest that they ordered it from because the Carquest guy mentioned the fact they had ordered one. THEN It took 3 minutes to replaced. No dash removal necessary. All in all they wanted to charge me upwards of $250 for a $40 part and five minutes of their time. REDICULOUS! read more
