Absolutely grateful for this mechanic shop. I called and spoke with a Steve about my Lexus truck squeaking as I assumed I needed rear brakes and motors. He had the best prices in the valley and is less than 5 mins from the Northridge mall. I got there and was ready to get my brakes and rotors and oil changed. An hour later Steve called back and said my brakes are fine, all I needed was an oil change. I asked him to please check again since I hear the squeaking, he called back 45 mins later after he test drove my car and guaranteed me that my front and rear brakes were good and at 80% . I came and picked up my car and told him thank you for not doing a service that's not necessary. He assured me he's an honest man abs that he doesn't overcharge his customers and do unnecessary work if not needed. As I'm driving my car I don't hear the squeaking. I'm surprised and extremely happy with the outcome. I will bring my car here from now on as I can assure you that he's a trustworthy mechanic. This morning our son called this Discount Tire store to see about getting an oil change. He spoke to the manager, Steve, who was short with him and said they're booked today. So my son called back to make an appointment for Monday and spoke to Sam, who when my son said what it was he needed done (oil change), Sam hung up on him. 5 of my son's college friends witnessed this. So I called and spoke to Steve D., the manager, to tell him about Sam's rudeness and Steve said, "Sam wouldn't do that" and after a back and forth, Steve yelled at me and hung up the phone. My husband, who is retired military and has been going to Discount Tires for over 20 years (at different locations) has always loved the service and never had an issue - until now. I would never come here again. I bought tires, one week later (today) I took my car in for other maintenance work and the mechanic took me to the back and showed me that my tires were worn out and shredded. It was worn on the inside which would be hard to capture since it was not shredded on the outside. I basically wasted my money on those worn out, no good tires. Didn't even last a week! After the poor phone etiquette I received the manager Steve reached out to me to rectify the mishap. I was very impressed with the value of customer service they actually did strive for. I ended up bringing my car in around a month after the offer and he honored it with no problems and no wait. It was really refreshing! I am an old customer, have been there for year. I went to Discount Tire Center this Saturday morning around 10:30 or so to have my tire repaired. Nobody was in the office, one tire person was working, he didn't bother to look up, and there were about 4 people waiting for either their cars to be finished or started, or someone to speak with. I waited a few minutes, nobody was in the office to talk to, only a single stall with a car raised above. Other than the people waiting, it didn't appear busy based upon any actual work being performed. So I left, went to Tires by Mark, out of my neighborhood where there were 9 working employees who started immediately, fixed my tire for $10. Remind me never to go back to Discount Tire Centers. read more

Good prices on tires but they were bad! The tires had cracks and deep cuts in them! Took my car in for an alignment at my regular trustworthy tire shop, they showed me and informed me they were in horrible condition and old! Only reason I went there was because they were open on Sunday and was using a spare due to a flat tire the night before. If you can avoid this place please do so. If you need a quick-fix and don't care about the quality of tire you get, then this just might work out. read more

Since I left the review I have been contacted twice by the business and told to take it down. both times they claim the review was not fair to them just because I have not since had an issue with my car. I needed an alignment and my coworker/friend referred me to Discount Tires in Northridge. I first checked out reviews on store that was close by and reviews were horrible so then I checked on reviews for Northridge store and they were all good reviews. So I get there and was told they would be with me in 10 min. They took truck in and about 45 min later my alignment was done. Prices are fair and the guys were great. Avoid this place at all cost!! They sell poor quality tires, and they are dishonest. They tried to blame the worn out tires on broken suspension which weren't broken AT ALL, so they can void the warranties and try to rip me off. My tires barely lasted 11 months. I only went here since they had an advertisement of good prices on tires, and I checked the review of the tires that matched my car. It was decent so I went. When I got there, they said that they didn't carry the one I saw and matched online, so they said they will give me a tire with the equal value. So I got 4 tires changed on my Camry. To my surprise, these tires didn't even last a year!! The thread of tires were so little, it was getting dangerous to drive after 11 months of driving. I'm not a rough driver and I only use my car mainly for commuting to work (30min. drive each way), and I never had any problem like that in the past with other not-so-top-of-the-line tires. It was still under 1 year warranty, so I went to complain to them and get some replacements. When I got there, they raised my car and inspected the tires and said that it was worn out since 3 out of 4 suspensions are broken. All the mechanic there pointed at some oil stains on the tire suspensions saying it is broken and leaking fluids. So in conclusion, they said that the warranty won't work because the tires were misused, and then they gave me a hefty estimate to replace all three suspensions and 4 tires (possibly the same crappy ones). OK, I look young and naive girl, but I work in technical industry, I knew something wasn't right. I knew that my garage will give a honest opinion, so I said I'll get them checked out at my garage. To this, all mechanics start to threaten me saying that the car is in a dangerous condition to drive. Eventually I managed to drive off to get the suspension checked at my garage. NO PROBLEM, they are all working and still working! I end up getting some nice Michelin tires from my garage and I drove happily with good tires for at least 5 years or so. Don't try to save money with these people. You cannot get what you want anyway, and who knows what they can pull behind your back. read more

Be prepared to not be helped especially if you had purchased your parts from a discount tire corporate store as this location is a franchise, a point that was made clear to me when I walked in and showed them my receipt from another location, as well as being reminded again later during my visit. I had a flat and decided to go to this location as it was closer to the area I was in. They were already reluctant when I showed them my receipt for my tires from the Azusa location that included my hazard repair coverage. They Made me wait 20 minutes before a worker even checked my tire, mind you they just opened and had turned away another customer who apparently had a similar issue like me ("you bought your tires from a corporate store, probably need to go there to fix it. I probably don't have your tire.). I had my infant with me and they still dilly dallied while I waited for them to look at the tire. I eventually moved my closer since no one was coming to me in the parking lot. Someone finally came out, only to have them tell me, "yeah, hole is too big. Go to the store you bought your tires at tomorrow." Tomorrow? Who has time to go tomorrow when clearly I was there already to get it fixed. Very unwelcoming and useless if you aren't spending money at their location. I didn't see him even check if they had the same tire in stock. He just kept referring to returning to the corporate shop to fix this. Do not come to this location. If you need great service, go to the Azusa location. They have always been helpful, quick, and cost effective for my car needs. From now on, if I have a problem, I will gladly make the drive out east vs going here again and have them treat me like I shouldn't have gone there. This was the second time I came here and felt like I wasn't welcome. My husband has taken my car here before, as well, and he too was turned away, told to go to another location as they couldn't help him. I went in with a flat tire that was very worn, but they plugged it anyway (another place that offered free flat repairs refused, trying to wiggle out of their ad, trying to force a sale). The guys at Discount Tire Center also advised me of a safety issue I knew about beforehand (the brake pads are on their last legs, and the mechanic showed me their condition), and they quoted a repair with a smile but no 'hard sell'. I was having alert from my car that tire pressure was low. Stopped by a gas station to put in air but I kept on losing it fast. I thought was doing it wrong and asked for guy help at the pump. He said it might be my tire or the air pump is broken. I went to the next gas station, same thing happened. I drove to their shop and explained what been going on. They said they'll check. Waited 5 minutes and they put air in it. The checked the pin and the tire if there is damage. They was able to put the right air pressure.
