I stopped by today to get a free battery test while super charging my Tesla near by. The tech told me they would charge me if they had to manually get to my battery to check. Getting to the 12 v battery is a bit different than a gas car where you just pop the hood. He then taught me how to check the battery health myself by putting my car into service mode on my display. I had a really disappointing experience at Mountain View this morning. I came in with a flat tire caused by a small nail. My tires are in good condition overall, with the exception of one that I already know will need to be replaced sometime in the near future. I chose Mountain View because I've had service done here before, they're usually quick, and I was trying to get my toddler to preschool and myself to work. After putting my car up to inspect it, the attendant told me the tire with the nail was too damaged to patch, made it sound like it was practically ripped open, and said they couldn't patch it because they would be "liable." But it didn't stop there he then proceeded to tell me that ALL of my tires were bald and needed to be replaced. I'm not someone who knows absolutely nothing about cars or tires. I know what a bald or badly damaged tire looks like, and my tires simply did not look anything like what he was describing. I asked him to physically show me the damage. When he did, I saw no ripped-open tire, no severe damage, and my tires were clearly not bald. I saw the small nail that caused my flat. He then suggested I go to a "mom-and-pop" tire shop even named one that might be willing to patch it because Mountain View supposedly couldn't take on the liability. I left and went to another established tire shop down the street not a "mom-and-pop" shop. They inspected my tires and confirmed that my tires are in good condition. They did tell me that ONE tire will probably need to be replaced in the near future, which I was already aware of, but they absolutely did not agree that all four of my tires were bald or needed replacement. And guess what? The tire Mountain View told me was too damaged to patch simply needed a patch. They patched the nail, and I was good to go. I'm writing this review because the entire interaction left me feeling taken advantage of and like I was being upsold and that the salesman assumed I wouldn't know any better. Just because I'm a woman does not mean you can tell me all of my tires are bald and need replacement and expect me to automatically believe it. Had I not questioned what I was being told, I could have ended up unnecessarily replacing multiple tires when all I needed that morning was a simple patch. I'm very glad I trusted my judgment and got a second opinion. So I scheduled an alignment at this store weeks ago. Had an appointment scheduled today at 4:00pm 8/17/2026. When I called I gave them my cars information. A Toyota BZ4x, an electric vehicle. I just purchased new tires and just wanted an alignment. Called them and asked them could they do the alignment. THEY GAVE ME AN ABSOLUTE YES ANSWER!!!!! And I asked them several times, are you sure you can do my vehicle. YES, YES, WE CAN DO YOUR ALIGNMENT. So I get there and go inside. He pulls my paperwork and then he calls his mechanic to tell me that they can't really do the alignment, they don't have the proper tech. To say I was livid was to say then least. They wasted my time. Their customer service at this location has gotten worse and worse over the years. They are horrible. They have horrible customer service and they are not ready for prime time. If you do not have the equipment then just then just tell the customer that you can't do the service so that I do waste my time coming over there. I don't need to schedule anything with you. I can go somewhere else. Back to the dealership who gave me a coupon which gave me a cheaper price than what this place was going to ask me to pay anyway. I WILL NEVER USE THEIR SERVICE AGAIN FOR ANYTHING. I WILL NOT GO TO THIS PLACE THEY ARE USELESS. And now that I received this type of service, I know it was them that stuck three small needle like things in the sidewall of my tires once that caused me to have to buy new tires. I guess they thought I would come back and buy tires with them, but I will never by tires from them. I buy my tires from Costco. So honestly there is really nothing this shop can do for me anymore. They are useless. They're technicians are suspect and do things that cost the customer more money or they are just not trained well to work on cars of the future. California is one of the highest markets for electric vehicles and you are ready to work on them yet, but you tell the customers that you are able. Salvador and Jose really take care of you. For a chain store, they are surprisingly honest and reasonable. Recently I had to come by to service two of my cars so I got to know the place better. They don't try to push you to do unnecessary things (re : power steering flush) and honor issues that may inevitably arise. I had a set of tires go prematurely bald because they were not EV-rated and possibly mis-aligned - they replaced them at their cost for OEM! And the fact they are open Sundays, when most are not (the only other chain open Sundays only have slick marketing with their three charicature mascots but they really upsell!) Their tire prices were competitive. A few times I brought in my oil and filter, and they charged me a flat $50 rate for labor at the time. Their phone booking system could be improved because sometimes I think I got a call center in another country, A major plus is this location has many food options to wait out your service (McDs, wings, beef bowls, sandwiches and Starbucks!). The only downside about their location is they share their parking lot with a Tesla supercharger station and there is always line of Teslas blocking the driveway off Knapp, so come off DeSoto. read more

My family and I were on our way to the Westfield Topanga for Mother's Day when we got a flat right before getting off of the 118 freeway on De Soto Ave. Fortunately for us there was a Mountain View Tire on De Soto. When we got there a gentleman by the name of Jose Chavez helped me and my family turn a day that was turning for the worse into a day of joy! He was able to help repair the tire in about 30 minutes. So on a day when my family and I thought we would never make it to the mall to celebrate, turned out to be a great day because of Jose and his staff! I would also like to thank the technician that helped with repairing the tire. And because we had the tire protection when we first purchased the tires from Mountain View Tire in Burbank, we were not charged for the service. One cannot ask for much more than that. Great service on a very important day of the year and nothing out of pocket. My family and I also use the Mountain View Tire locations in Burbank and Granada Hills, and after experiencing the great service at their Chatsworth location, we are not going anywhere else. Great service goes a long way. I highly recommend them. Yes, maybe a bit more out of pocket than some, but for that type of service, totally worth it. And get the tire protection. Very bad experience. I called first to ask the price if i bring my tires, how much for installation and balance - they told me it would be 30.99$ per tire. I said ok, that price works for me. When I came in, I asked for the price and it was 45.99$ install and balance (and plus tax). 1.5x scam information, that make me bring my car there in emergency condition. Very long service, they asked for 1-1:30 hour, and I was able take the car only in 3 hours. Terrible experience, price, time nothing worth to bring your own car here. Whatever you do stay away from this shop!!! These pigs are thieves and con artist. I came in with squeaky brakes hoping to find out what was wrong. They charged me $100 to do an over the night check on the car. I told them I would pick up the car in the morning, but I did not want any work done on the car. When I came back the next morning to pick up the car, I instantly knew something was wrong with the car. I drove it to another mechanic down the street and found out that they had replaced my squeaking tire rotors with completely damaged rotors. The slight squeak turned into an ear piercing screech that could be heard a mile away. I guess they figured if I wasn't doing business with them then they could just steal my car parts and replace them with garbage. I went in super hesitant as I had a mobile mechanic work on the entire front suspension of my car. Service manager Christian Cruz and mechanic Ed went ABOVE and BEYOND to take care of my 2001 van I use to carry 3 people and our equipment thousands of miles a month. I foolishly tried to use a mobile mechanic to install my front tie rods, control arms, and hubs on both sides which ended up causing significant damage to my driver side axle and Ed took his time to visiually show me and explain the significance of ignoring this. I asked Christian for a quote for what needed to be done and was pleasantly surprised with the overall cost to fix someone else's mistake. I've been to This Mountain View Tire a few times already and all I can say is amazing customer service! The first time I came in the old manager Gabe helped me out and made the whole process of swapping out my tires easy. This time around I actually had an emergency as I had punctured one of my tires. I was worried that most places would be closed as it is Veterans Day weekend as well as a Sunday. Again without missing a beat the team was able to patch it up as well as let me know of another nail in my tire. Most places just would've patched the nail I had come in for but the team went the extra mile and checked all my tires as well as double check for any other potential punctures. Last year I had my breaks and suspension done on my vehicle. 1 year later I'm at another garage replacing everything they charged me $3k for. But not before I had to bring my vehicle back to them 3 more times to have them correct their mistakes like not putting things back correctly and flat out missing pieces. As for my suspension I had to spend another 3k to fix there mistakes. They replaced everything on my suspension with new shocks and struts over tightened a bolt that stripped and they just left it loose also instead of changing the rubber parts with new ones they put the old worn out bushings and the wrong bolt back. Needless to say they took a perfectly good vehicle and basically destroyed it. I called the manager Mario and told him about it to complain and I politely got the go F yourself you don't know what you're talking about we're the professionals. He's a condescending ...... why he's a manager is beyond me. Even if it's on warranty I would never let these incompetent baboons near a wheelbarrow. I'm a young woman so going to get anything done to my car is always super stressful because it's hard to know when I'm being taken advantage of, but that's not a problem at all here. Ruben was so honest with me when I came in with squeaky brakes thinking I needed to replace the pads. He told me that it's just a hot spot and I don't really need new brake pads for a while, and that they'd be happy to work on it to get the squeaking to go away but that there are no safety concerns and I can just save the money if I want. Honestly such a breath of fresh air - he could have told me I needed new brake pads and I would have believed him but they were honest instead and now have a customer for life. read more

Let me just say, this was my first time bringing my car into Mountain View and I will definitely be back!! I was greeted by Gabe at the front desk (manager) he was helpful, friendly, and got my car looked at right away. I originally brought my car in because my AC was blowing hot air. After about 10 minutes my mechanic, Ed, asked me to come take a look at the car and I was surprised to find it was already blowing cold air! He just turned on a few bottoms that I guess were off and man did I feel silly!! He even offered to take it on a test drive with me just to make sure it kept that temperature and didn't have any further problems with the AC. He was so wholesome and honest and I assured him that because of how kind and trustworthy he is I will always be bringing my car back to Ed! When we got back to the shop he assured me that there wasn't a problem for him to fix so I asked him if he'd also take a look at my brakes because I'd been hearing squeaking. Ed did what he does best and it turned out it was time for new rear brakes. He was very informative and and even showed me the brakes so I could see exactly what the problems were. Needless to say I agreed to go ahead and have the new brakes installed. Meanwhile Gabe had informed me that Ed needed to go on lunch and it would be at least an hour until he could start working on them. I absolutely agreed that the man needs a lunch and decided to wait patiently. During this time I was just overjoyed with the conversation that I was having with Gabe at the front desk. I could tell this guy is dedicated and ambitious about running this shop with the highest quality of standards. I would be honored to have him as an employee in my own business. After a short 45 minutes or so Ed comes back with my keys and had informed me that everything was good to go! I was shocked! Ed had decided to work through his lunch to take care of my needs and if that is not customer dedication then I don't know what is!!!! My gratitude for both of these gentleman goes beyond measure. I will definitely be bringing my car back for any future needs. It is just wonderful to have found such honest people in an industry that tends to have a bad reputation of ripping people off. Don't be fooled by these fakes reviews. This place is horrible. I waited hours for an oil change. Keep in mind my car was in the bay the entire time so it's not like they weren't working on my car. I wondered why it was taking so long to do a simple oil change. Come too find out they never did it. I take it to a local shop this time and my oil change drain plug was completely warped and melted by his words. He said the oil was never changed because this can't be opened. He had to break it open and he even gave me a new one because of how bad he felt! I asked about getting my oil changed and at first said they couldn't do since I was bringing my own fluids and they would be liable if anything happened. After getting my quote for four tires an alignment and coverage that he decided to throw in without asking, he said he could go ahead and change the fluids because "why not?". I'm not sure of his name, but the only way to describe the gentleman is that he has a few tattoos on his arm. His attitude towards me was very rude and he made me uncomfortable just being there. Not to mention the fact that he was very condescending. The Store manager Gibby Alvarez was helpful and empathetic to my issue. In less than 30 minutes he had technician check the car. The technician that I spoke to, was down to earth nice guy who said there was nail on the tire and he fixed it. They did NOT charge a single penny. This is OUTSTANDING customer service. I have been returning to this location every other week since something was wrong with the alignment rack. Finally it's working and they refused to do an alignment and tire rotation on my truck because of "Aftermarket suspension" (they have seen my truck every time I have come previously asking for an alignment). There is a waiting area by the front desk, and the entire place is so clean (including the bathroom) plus there are multiple bays for service. Excellent and quick service. This was my first time at Mountain View Tire, but it won't be my last. Historically, I've gone to Firestone Complete Auto Care locations due to having lifetime alignment on my vehicles, so it just made sense to get new tires mounted and balanced. From being told hub-centric rings were "wheel spacers" to having appointments canceled to being told they weren't accepting walk-ins for tire mounting even when all shop bays were empty, disappointment after disappointment, I've finally decided to get out of that toxic relationship. At Mountain View Tires, you can expect friendly and knowledgeable service, along with genuine interactions with the staff. No excuses, no bullsh*t. Really glad I came to this shop. If you're ever on the fence of where you need to go, Mountain View needs to be at the top of your list. read more
