My Ford Explorer has had the same all weather tires since we bought it 8.5 years ago-- so it was no surprise when at its last checkup, the mechanic suggested new tires. They were a steal, came in mere days-- and were delivered for installation at Discount Tire, no problem! We got email reminders for the appointment. Ive always been a 5 star customer. Just bought top of line 4 season tires for my van. I have a flat. Rodrigo answered phone after my 10 minutes on hold. I asked for appointment. Told none till next week on Saturday. Said 20-30 people as walkins today ( 4 chairs). I really expected maybe to wait till this Saturday since i am a good customer and it is their product that i spent alot of money on because of their great service (until today) he basically didnt find me an appointment and was very rushed and cold as a fish on the phone. I was traveling from California and got a slow leak. I came in to Discount Tire of Coralville by the recommendation of my former tire store. I had a non-repairable flat tire. Anthony confirmed the diagnosis. I wanted the same tire to replace it. He did not have one. He then searched the world over to see if anyone else had one. He found one 4 hours away! He did not want me to take the chance of driving there with my slow, un-patchable tire so he fixed me up with a used tire and sent me safely on my way. He represented Discount Tire very well. If I lived anywhere close to Coralville, this would be my new tire store. read more

On a holiday road trip, I had the dreaded low tire pressure alarm come in 20 miles outside of Iowa City. Discount Tire was very busy, but after explaining my predicament, they were able to get my car in after about an hour. The best thing about this store is it's location. It is less that 200 yards to the Coralville Mall so my family was entertained while we waited. Unfortunately my tire was damaged beyond repair, but the technician went over all the different options including swapping to the spare for free, putting the damaged tire back on so I could "limp" home, replace only one tire even though other tires had excessive wear, or buy new tires. There was no pressure to sell me tires. He then listed off replacement tire options including performance in snow and rain as well as other ratings. Ultimately I chose to replace all four tires. They were done with work quickly. Overall, it only delayed my trip by 2 hours and my family was able to eat lunch and shop while we waited instead of being bored in a waiting area of a tire shop. Although I hope to never have to stop there again, I would highly recommend this location. read more

I came in with a rare request - my new Carvana car needed new tires & Discount Tire needed to go through the Carvana warranty company to get approval for a claim & payment. Though they had never done it before, Vincent & Anthony were completely on top of it & incredibly accommodating. It took them hours because the company made them jump through hoops - they had to call them, email them custom pictures, & even text them, & then call them back every 20 minutes to finally get approval. And they were dealing with this while their lobby was packed with customers. When Carvana only agreed to pay for the cheapest tires, Anthony made it to where I could pay the difference to get the long-lasting tires of my choice. Once we finally had approval, they had my brand new tires on & aligned in just over an hour. I was nervous when I made this appointment because I assumed that somehow it was just not going to work in my favor, but thanks to Vincent & Anthony, I walked away completely satisfied. I even delivered the shop some Nothing Bundt Cakes as an expression of my wholehearted gratitude. This was the best car experience I've ever had. And every other customer who came into the shop that day was always completely satisfied & amazed at how quickly their cars were finished, as well. read more

I guess I learned another lesson about always going to the dealership. I will never shop at Discount Tires again. I got what I thought was the typical rotation and balance on tires purchased through Discount Tires. I have always had decent experiences until now. The Corallville, IA location was incredibly unprofessional. From the things I saw them do or discovered after I left: 1. Losing all the air caps for all the tires on my vehicle and replacing them with mismatched ones they could scrounge (they were different brands and one tire was missing altogether). 2. Blowing the air out of one of my tires and returning my tires with mismatched/low air readings. 3. Playing around and throwing metal objects at each other around other cars. 4. Making grotesque gestures, running around (and playing like they were at school recess) and lewdly dancing around/on vehicles (I don't care if people have fun, but when a vehicle gets damaged because people aren't paying attention, then I have a problem). 5. Witnessed a man walk in asking about a tire he dropped off earlier to be patched, to which they replied there were no holes. He then proceeded to point out a nail, forcing him to return later and wasting his time further. 6. Lastly not having a balanced vehicle (now I have to go to the dealership, what "fun" )... to be quite frank I wouldn't be surprised if they did not even rotate my tires after making me wait almost 2 hours for an appointment I was an hour early for. If you care about your time, money, and vehicle safety, be careful here. read more

They were super busy and somehow fit me in and got me fixed up and back on the road (had a nail in my tire). And they didn't even charge me. Will never go back there again, went end for a front end allingment, Car still pulled to the right, the steering wheel spoke should be east/west, was now North West /South East, broken switch mount under the dash towards the center of the dash, no where near where it could be kicked, Knob on the trip set had been pulled out or something, anyway just hanging on there now no longer can be used. still trying to get it fixed. if you like throwing your money away and having a classic car destroyed go there, but if you plan on keeping your car or even want it worked on to sell it DO NOT GO HERE! read more

I would like to start by saying I have had nothing but positive experiences purchasing tires from the Coralville Discount Tire. It wasn't until I tried to use the Road Hazard insurance that I had added that I experienced a different level of service. A little backstory, my car is lowered and in the past I had rubbed on the tire on the very rare occasion. It was actually the reason I was in there was to get them replaced. I worked with Matt, at the time the manager, and had him verify that it would be covered by their Road Hazard insurance. He said, "100%." Well fast forward a year and I hit a large bump causing my car to rub on the tire. I was on the way to my mechanic anyway and he noticed that it had marred up the tire pretty bad. He said to go get them covered under the RH warranty. I drove the car into Discount Tire on 10/18 and worked with Dak at first. He said he would have to get his manager, now Kyle not Matt. After waiting over 25 minutes Kyle comes out and introduces himself. After walking out to the car I explained the situation and that's where my experience changed. He said no way will they not cover it, "It wasn't bad enough." As if the only way they are going to cover it is if I am stranded on the side of the road. I explained to him how my ASE certified Master Technician, which is a credential greater than anyone there has, said it was unsafe to drive. Kyle's response to that was, "why don't you have them fix it?" That was the response from the manager. He continued his unprofessional attitude after I said that was unacceptable. Even the diagram they have in the store says any damage to the sidewall deems replacement. In fact their website stats; "In a nutshell, if a tire that is covered by Discount Tire's "Certificate for Repair, Refund or Replacement" fails for any reason. whether it's due to a factory defect or a non-repairable road hazard and still has legal tread (3/32nds of an inch) remaining across the tire, and it has been in use for less than 3 years, we'll give a refund of the full purchase price." After it was obvious that Kyle wanted me to kick rocks I told him he lost my business forever. He said and I quote, "there will always be another customer." Funny that's the same thing Blockbuster said. I will be reporting Kyle and is unprofessional and unacceptable behavior to corporate. I will also be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Hit road debris on I 80 and within 20 minutes the low pressure light goes on. Dang! 350 miles from home but Discount Tires bailed us out. No appointment required (walk in) yet only took an hour to repair the tire. Covid precautions were somewhat annoying, yet understandable. Service was fast, courteous and -- to our surprise -- free! Including stowing the spare (snug fit under the floor of our minivan). Can't recommend them highly enough. read more

Negligent tire machine use caused permanent damaged to the wheel on our $165k RV. After weeks discussing the issue with store manager, Anthony, he was unable to find a replacement wheel. He's since referred me to their fleet insurance company who requires we find a wheel the fulfill the claim. Discount tire "called everywhere" trying to find a replacement and failed, now I'm expected to find one to be reimbursed. The number of months it will take for a resolution remains to be seen. I cannot recommend using Discount Tire as they're ill equipped to resolve their short comings in a timely manner. read more

Made an appointment, but had to wait over an hour for someone to even take my keys. They seem to prioritize walkins over people who make appointments. Also, signs say mask required, but there are people in the waiting area not wearing any and the employees never said anything. Once I complained, they did give a discount due to the wait. Have been a repeat customer of discount tire for years and as much I would like to give a review of 5 stars I just cant do it because when I picked up my car last night the person I received the keys from just could not wait to tell me how he and his co-worker had challenged themselves to see who could put the tires back on my vehicle the fastest - and how he had won and was rubbing it in his co-workers face... Now I get putting tires back on a car is not rocket science, but as the person who's vehicle was worked on I want to know it was done RIGHT, that it was properly checked afterwards and that I have nothing to worry about on the road, especially this time of year - I don't want to know you raced to put them on the fastest... That is not customer service, not is not professional pride, and your store management should be ashamed of themselves for letting that happen!!! read more

I left a message with Discount Tire and informed we stayed in their parking lot overnight and would like new tires put on in the morning, if possible. You cannot find any place better to get tires for your car. The staff is very polite, knowledgeable, courteous and very nice. We have bought tires for other cars, but the one I took in today is a lease and air was slowly leaking out. Not good timing since we are heading to Chicago. I worked with Nick and he got the car in right away. First check he said the tire looked okay, but they were going to take it off for a better look. I picked some Continental tires and some beautiful mag wheels. then he offered to have them installed within 45 minutes. I was amazed that it was done in less time and the difference in ride and looks for my RAV4 is remarkable. plus they take care of any issues related to the tires and wheels forever. Friendly folks even when I limp in less than an hour before close with a flat. The folks here have helped me several times fix flats, install tires, etc and I have had nothing but positive experiences at this location. Today, for example, the flat ended up being a nail in the inner sidewall and was not repairable. Nonetheless, they tossed the donut on and sent me on my way (tire was under warranty elsewhere) without charging me a penny. Great service. read more
