Came in to have a tire replaced with road hazard coverage. Decided to replace two wheels at same time. Had an appointment at 12:45. Showed up at 12:15. Was told no more than and hour. Showed up at 1:45 because I figured I couldn't hold them accountable for me being early so I figured an hour from my actual appointment time and vehicle wasn't even in bay with an estimated finish time of 2:30. Why bother to make an appointment? App showed me as not even having arrived. Not sure what they screwed up but they saw me come in the door and immediately knew they screwed up. I recently had to have my tire replaced since it popped and I only had to pay $16 because they have this certificate where any tire you get from them has a lifetime warranty so that if anything ever happens to the tire, you get it replaced for free plus the $16 it costs to put the certificate on the new tire. I've gone to this place twice now and not only have they helped me out in such a quick turnaround but they didn't charge me. The first time was a rental car had a flat and they swapped out the flat with one of their tires and did not charge me for it. I returned the car back to the rental place and everything was fine. The second time was my left rear tire was running low on air so I stopped by so that they can check and one of the mechanic found that there is a screw lodged in that tire. I made an appointment for them to patch up the tire and rebalance and it took less than 20 minutes and they did not charge me for it. The team at the Rancho San Diego location has taken really great care of me several times. Most recently Michelin shipped the incorrect rear tire for my Tesla Model S Plaid, my current rear was unrepairable. Knowing I had a road trip to Las Vegas coming up this week Discount Tire mounted the tire Michelin shipped which had the same tread pattern and size (incorrect compound, no foam inserts which cut down on noise significantly and no Bluetooth heat sensors for track days) so that I could continue on my vacation and they said not to worry as they would work with Michelin to ensure the right tire got shipped as soon as it was available and they would swap it to the correct tire at no charge. This was a stand-up move from the team at Rancho San Diego I give a lot of credit to Antonio who made the call and want to make sure Discount Tire corporate sees what a great job this team does on the ground at this store. read more

I purchased a set of 60,000 mile tires 20,000 miles ago and they are falling apart...chunks of them coming off. I had purchased the warranty so went back to this store to get this resolved. They blamed me for not rotating my tires enough for the damage, offering me a small discount on new tires (which they stated they were not obligated to do). Mind you, it wasn't an edge wearing down or anything...chunks are coming off. I even took my car to the dealership to make sure nothing was wrong with my car that would cause this. The mechanics could not find anything wrong. This Discount Tire employee was rude and unhelpful. Carlos was extremely helpful, I called the day of my accident and they were able to not only find me a new tire (in and out I might add) but also let me know that my rim was busted too (broke my heart btw). I couldn't pay for the rim portion atm but that didn't stop Carlos from helping me as much as he could, he said he could send my whole tire in to see if the rim could be saved (it couldn't) I only had to drive around with a donut tire for 1 day. I had an appointment at 3 PM and showed up 10 minutes before. I came into the store. I stood in the line for a couple of minutes with no acknowledgment from anyone. Fantastic experience! Had a nail in my tire but needed to be at work. I made sure to to be there when they opened. I was dreading the long wait, especially since there were three people waiting ahead of me when I arrived. Promptly at 8am, doors opened and a team of service technicians came out and warmly greeted each of us. Erik greeted me and got my car into the bay quickly. At the counter, we did business quickly. Shortly after, another technician came out to show me the nail that was in my tire and to give me a quick update about the status and time. The wait time seemed to fly by. On the morning of February 6, 2019 I came here and met the nicest person ever. His name was Jose. I came for a Air pressure check and he was so sweet and informative. He let me know that it's very important to keep the caps on the tires because of little rocks or debris gets in there the air could slowly sleep out. And he provided me with some caps. I told him I was appreciative of that because every time I seem to put them on and then I get it check they are never put back on. He was very informative as far as what I should do considering that my vehicle is newer and he had a great sense of humor. What was most impressive as there was an older lady in the Honda in front of us three cars ahead and for whatever reason she was having some issues but he was patient with her, he never had a frown and he keep it professional. As I told him this is not my first time visiting the place and I typically have bought tires from here in the past of course he welcomed me back. Then I saw a gentleman walking up to hand him a tip from another customer that he found a nail in her tire and she and her child immediately pulled over to get that assisted and checked out. I never knew we could give them tips and as I explained to him I'm going to be getting on the road tomorrow and for peace of mind that he provided me and for the information I was greatly appreciate it and of course tipped him. He said no that's not needed but of course I insisted. There's nothing like having a piece of mine and being greeted by a friendly person in the morning. I had a flat and needed to get a new tire. I have to get high performance tires and they are expensive compared to many others. After calling around, this place had my tires and had the best price and could replace my tire quickly that day. There is a store area and counter where you walk up and place your order. They give you an estimated time of when your car will be done. I ended up getting two tires. There is a waiting area with chairs if you want to wait, but since this is in a shopping area, I walked over and browsed a few stores. There is a Party City, Target, and Albertsons grocery store.. so you could get some shopping done while your car is being worked on :-) They were right on with the estimated time they gave me. I walked back, and my car was good to go. Unfortunately, after a couple months, I noticed a very slow leak in one of the tires, in that my pressure would go low and needed more air after a week or so. I called and was taken in as a walk in and they fixed it in 45 minutes. It turns out there was a very small nail and a slow leak in the stem. I received excellent service, it was repaired quickly and there was no charge. The tire was balanced as well. The nice thing too is there are many of these tires stores around, including Orange County, LA, Las Vegas etc. and they have a great guarantee and will provide you excellent service when needed. I have to give these guys 5 stars because I received 5 star treatment from them. I was in a rush to leave my home today, but I woke up to a big surprise: my rear passenger tire was flat. So, after a few choice words, I took out my handy AC adapter power electric pump and pumped it up to drive down the street to Discount Tire. Having purchased my tires from them a few years back, I was hoping they would help me out. I brought it in and they immediately took my vehicle in to check the tire for a leak. Not only did they figure out that they valve stem was bad, but they also took the time to rotate my tires since it was time. About 25 minutes later, I was back on the road at zero cost, given I was already tire customer, with a normal stress level. Phew........having a flat tire is no fun. I purchased two tires online and put this location in my order. The front desk people were nice and appointment time was honored and time to replace tires was accurate. However, the tire lost air a day after and had to bring the car back. Turned out to be a leaking tire value stem washer which is obviously replaced with every installation. I was told that this was probably caused by overtightenning upon installation. I know that they took care of this at no charge but it costed me an hour of my time plus the trip. Also as a tires shop, this issue should not happen, specially when we're charged $20 installation fee per tire.
