The Good: Points for being fast. I replaced four tires and got wheel alignment for a little over two hours. Some understanding during our communication when I pointed out a price discrepancy. The Bad: Nickel and diming. I've been going to Firestones since 1999 and every location I've gone to just applies all the active, applicable coupons. No games. It's why I've kept coming back even though the prices have steadily gone up (it's gone up to $270!). This location did not do that. I bought 4 destination tires, which has a coupon for a $70 discount. Because I spent over $600, another $100 was deducted. Because I bought the wheel alignment, there was a coupon for a $40 discount. Total discount: $210. Josh initially applied only a $40 discount to the tires. When I showed him the $70 coupon, he was about to say something but ended up just applying the the $70 coupon. He then indicated that he applied the extra $30 off. When I picked up the car, I was told I would get an email with the invoice and Josh indicated again that the extra $30 was applied. The following day I called for the invoice and saw the invoice only reflected $180 off. I called Firestone and spoke to someone who put me on hold for about 10 minutes then transferred me to Josh. When I pointed out the discrepancy, he stated that he applied the extra $30 discount by removing a TPMS Valve Kit charge, which was $30. There was no reference to this TPMS Valve Kit Charge on the invoice. I told him that this was not reflected anywhere on the invoice and asked how a customer would know that there was an accurate deduction when there was no reference to this charge that was removed and instead said a $180 discount was applied. When I asked why he applied the $40 coupon instead of the accurate $70 coupon, he did not have an answer and just said he would send a different invoice to show what he did. Josh then emailed a separate invoice that looked like it was made on the spot that applied two "PRT-DISC Customer Expectation Discount (Promise not met)" discounts totaling $140 and the TPMS Valve Kit Charge for $28 ($7 for each tire), which was not discounted and therefore made the invoice $30 higher. I thanked him for the explanation but noted it caused me to waste my time because he never explained what he was doing in the shop or on an invoice and I, instead, had to call because it looked like I had been cheated $30. He replied that he hoped he would get the benefit of the doubt that he was being honest and I responded that this isn't a reflection of my thoughts on his character but no one gets the benefit of the doubt. We're strangers making a transaction, this is why invoices exist. He then said he had to do it this way because could not apply the correct $70 coupon because he had already entered the $40 coupon in the system and that he went above and beyond for me. I explained he didn't do anything more than he was supposed to do: apply the applicable discounts and accurately process the transaction. If we're being 100% accurate, he didn't do these things or even explain what happened until I called, which is why I wasn't happy with the experience. read more

This place is garbage. They will scam you. I towed my truck there. They called a week later saying they inspected it and found several issues that need to be addressed. I decided to go over there only to find my truck was in the same place I left it,the same exact place I had the tow truck guy drop it off, in the parking lot. Bolts had not been touched. Nothing had been removed, nothing had been inspected. So this guy Joshua calls me and tells me a straight up lie. A little BS I supposed comes with the territory but to flat out make up a whole entire story? I wouldn't believe it myself if it didn't actually happen to me. To fabricate a story of a full inspection and diagnosis of my vehicle, is the most unprofessional, disgusting, despicable thing you can do. How would I know? Well my truck's wheel came off while driving it. In order for Joshua's tale of it needing a new axle shaft, bearings, etc. it would need to be taken apart. The half pieces of bolts that had sheared were still there, dirt on all bolts was undisturbed. No movement had been done whatsoever. First price he quoted was 2500 ok that's fine. I wanted the breaks redone on both back tires ect. Seemed legit. Then he calls a couple days later saying that upon further inspection it was discovered my axle shaft was damaged. And that he needs to order a kit which would now be 3800. I had already paid thousands of dollars in tow fees I wasn't about to go somewhere else. Luckily I decided to go on down there for them to show me in person what they had discovered during this "inspection" only to find they had not touched it at all. What business does this? Knowing that the majority of people aren't going to go to their shop to verify what they say. People need their cars so they will say fix it. Which I'm sure Joshua has gotten away with more than a few times. Guy should be fired. Complaints will be here, corporate, the manager, and everywhere. Not much gets me to leave a comment. But a liar and a scammer most definitely will. My suggestion to whoever takes their vehicle here, is to verify what they are telling you because I can guarentee you this isn't the first time. So for all you innocent people just trying to get their car fixed so you can get around, I'll be doing my best to make sure this is the last time, that people like Joshua at Firstone lie, cheat, and scam, their customers. Just got my tire fixed. I want to give a big shout out to Ross. I went there right after I found out there was a nail in one of the tires. Since I was a walk in so I had to wait. There were 3 cars in front of me. It's getting late and the receptionist told me I might need to come back tomorrow. But then Ross went ahead and took my car in. Repairing a tire costs way less and takes longer time than just installing a new one. However Ross was so honest and suggested it could be just patched. I was only charged a small amount of fees. I and my family have been going here for many years and we really appreciate their honesty, services, and affordability. Also it's pet friendly. Disappointment. That is the only word I can use to describe this day. I am new to Santee having just moved here over the summer. Lots of negative things have been said about this hidden city none of which has been true. In fact, it has been the opposite. I have never felt such a sense of community here. People are polite and friendly. It has a small town feel to it with big city amenities. I absolutely love this place. But today, my experience with Firestone Tires next to the Wells Fargo Bank and 99 cent store fell far below the standard I have come to expect. Today, I had a flat tire and turned to this trusted brand to help get me back on the road. Everyone knows Firestone, it's a TRUSTED brand. Or so I thought. I was told (February 22, 2026) that my tire couldn't be repaired and even sent a receipt that included a picture and note stating: can't be repaired. Not knowing much about tires, I agreed to have them replace it. After leaving, my daughter called me and told me that the tire WAS reparable and that I had been misguided. What did I do to deserve that? I returned and asked for my tire and a refund. Instead of admitting his fault, the boy that helped me instead said, "I don't like being called a liar." Well sir, the receipt I have in conjunction with the fact that someone else did in FACT repair shows you weren't being completely honest with me. He reluctantly gave me a refund and kept the tax I paid. (Is that even legal in California?) I'm going to have to look that up. I have it all documented. In any case, I just wanted to express my displeasure in hopes that someone in that organization who actually cares about customer service will get back to me so I can provide feedback on the customer experience. Definitely do not recommend this location, based solely on their customer service. It's unfortunate because I have spent thousands here in the past, but will be taking my business elsewhere, that is for sure!!! I called yesterday about getting a simple part installed, based off of the check engine light, and the code that was given to me. The gentleman on the phone, I believe his name was Alex, took all of my information and was helpful and let me know that he didn't have the part in stock yesterday, but would order it and have it in for sure the next day. He told me as long as I got there by 3:45 for my appointment, they would be able to get it done by 6 when they close. Totally fine with me, I will sit there for 2 hours. So I left work early to get it done today, and arrive for my 3:45pm appointment. I get there and first of all the girl Dhaishia was very nice and sweet and understanding. She said they could possibly take a look at it today. I told her "No, I'm here to get the part replaced, which was what I made the appointment for." When I am talking to her, a stupid guy named Joshua Nutz, interjects himself and rudely had to interrupt and chime in, as if she couldn't handle the conversation herself. ( also with his ridiculous mask that he is still wearing in 2025 lol) Anyways, I am told that if I just get the part replaced, they will not guarantee their work and there is no warranty on it, unless I let them do an inspection. I was not told this on the phone, but whatever do the inspection for $10. In order for them to do this "inspection," it would require me to leave my car an entire day. Seriously? It takes you that long to do an inspection? His little analogy and logic made no sense and it is just a sales gimmick to get you to spend more money so they can find more things to charge you for. He was so rude and condescending the way he spoke to me. I may be a dumb girl when it comes to cars, but I know enough and you don't talk to customers like that. None of this was disclosed to me on the phone, which is very unfortunate because it wasted my time to take off work early to get this done today. I completely inconvenienced this "sales guy" Joshua, who has probably never even looked under the hood of any car to begin with. He said that apparently the error code can mean a lot of different things and just mean the area of concern not the actual problem blah blah blah, which is just a bunch of nonsense. I could kick myself because I could've got this done yesterday at another reputable shop for $30 more but I guess trying to be cheap with a bargain shop, this is what I get!! The reason you get the code is so you can locate the issue. When you start out by telling me you can just put the part in no problem, but you won't guarantee anything and I could have problems again in a month and I'm outta luck.....that is sketchy as can be. You're telling me you can't inspect while you are already under the hood with the part? You need a whole day for that? I was told there were 3 cars ahead of me for today. Again, completely pointless that I made an appointment. The parts and labor was quoted to me at $232, which is pretty cheap so it's not about the money, I do not want to give them any business when they are rude and treat people this way. To expect someone to drop off their car for an entire day is ridiculous to say the least. Beware of the guy wearing the mask. Poor guy. And yes, Nutz is actually his last name, I am not making this up. Hopefully this location learns how to treat people if you want to keep customers coming back. My wife took her SUV for an alignment at the Santee location. She had a 4pm appointment. We live close to the shop but when she returned home at 4:27 pm I knew there was a problem. My wife told me they did the alignment and sent her on her way. ($99) My wife is not mechanically inclined so I asked for the receipt. Tech enters an in time of 4:02 pm and an out time of 4:11 pm. I asked her if they road tested it as stated on the invoice, she told me no. The next day I drive her car. The alignment is still off as I expected. It's was no better or worse. She calls them and they set us an appointment to bring it back in. I take it this time. The car was on the rack for an hour and fifty minutes this time and they road tested it after. As I entered the car at the completion of the work, there are greasy fingerprints all over the inside of the door. Lastly nobody bothered to ask me why it was here on Sunday and back on Tuesday. I pointed out to the guy that was working the counter (Paul). I even showed him the invoice. He moved it aside and told me to have a seat. Only apology was as I was waking out the door. Female employee said, "Sorry you had to bring it back." Sad to believe these are the business practices of such an established business. I have an appointment. I was 10 minutes early for my appointment. I turned in my keys to them and went over what I needed done prior to my appointment start time. He was taking multiple calls and stopped communicating with me while handling my information so I simply went to sit down. I'd say it's not a courteous way to handle a customer, so here I am. It's now been 38minutes after my appointment time. (48minutes since arrival). My vehicle has not been started on, in fact they have yet to even check the mileage he mentioned needing to note nearly an hour ago. I was told my vehicle would be ready in just over an hour but it's more than halfway through that time and they've not began. I'm starting to wonder if they've completely forgotten to communicate with the mechanic in the shop. 55 minutes since arrival, 45 minutes after my appointment time. Another customer came in half an hour ago and stated they did not have an appointment. I looked around 10 minutes back and noticed the vehicle they had taken here is currently being worked on. That's great for them to walk in and get service so quickly. Maybe I should walk in next time? An hour after my appointment time, 1:10 after arrival. It's notable that the man in the front (who will remain nameless for now) has handled nearly a dozen people in this time and processed them. Though it's not excusable the amount of time that has passed without either communication or simply starting the work on my vehicle. I'm reaching the time that my vehicle was suppose to be ready (1:15 after appointment time) and it has not began. I'll be asking for an update. No vehicles were in the shop when I went to look. Before I asked for the update: They left the room for a while and talked to the mechanic briefly before entering the parking lot. My vehicle was taken into the shop before he came back into the room. So I'll forego the update and ask them when my vehicle is done. They communicated. He (The remaining nameless) let me know they waited because they needed verification about the vehicle because it's my wife's vehicle. What I don't understand is why this happens now when I've done it before? Summing up my visit: 1.communication was not great, and it was ended in a rude way (ending the conversation by just taking phone call after phone call). 2.My vehicle was not taken in to be worked on until the estimated completion time was already over. 3. I had an appointment and I arrived early to go over anything else and they needed verification about whether or not the vehicle is stolen or otherwise? I'm on the insurance. Just ask. I won't make it a 1 star because at least they were trying to protect our vehicle from being a stolen vehicle brought to the shop, but should I when I have proof of insurance and they could've just asked? Everything would have been a lot better with communication. Estimated completion time being relatively close would be nice too, but communication would've been better. I usually go to the Firestone in La Mesa and was told Santee was under new management... to give them another try. I have a history with this location with them not honoring appointments. It's been years since I have gone to this location. I decided to give them another try, this location is closer to my home. I made the appointment online one week in advance for a routine alignment . I confirmed the appointment the previous day. I went to my appointment, checked-in on time. I walked to Jimmy's restaurant for breakfast, walked back to the strip mall area, shopped at Petco (bought some kitty litter) and stopped at the liquor store in the strip mall (bought a lottery ticket). I walked back to Firestone ( 2 hrs later).... my car was never touched still parked where I left it. I left without any services provided. I was told "sorry, we are short staffed". I didn't want to be a jerk, so I didn't respond to the half a@@ apology. I wanted to say you should have told me that when i dropped it off, given me the option to waste my time or not. This location does not value my time, appointments made, or my business. I will reschedule for the La Mesa location, I have never had a problem there. My family's experience to this Firestone was by far one of the worst experiences we have ever had at a business. To start out we were told that the original break job we had done at this business was not correctly done we ordered an upgrade to the parts and 6 months later we were back there getting them done again. During our next visit when the company Firestone was give an opportunity to fix their mistakes they told us that they would call at 6pm for an update or to let us know our car was ready. A firestone rep parked our car illegally on a yellow curb. Another customer pulled out of their parking spot and backed into our car. The only thing the rep had to say was that it was not Firestones fault. (Even though he had not had me sigh or had me the keys) the car was still in their possession. After having it fixed completely by the insurance of the customer that back into it Firestone did not take any responsibility of the incident. We called several Times to talk to a manager or supervisor. After weeks of calling all they offered was a 100$ gift certificate to come back. To be honest 100$ is a slap in the face after the unprofessional employees I have experienced at this business. The fact that I can only sit it at the place that took such poor car of my car and customer service was lacking in professionalism. From my previous 2-star review in 2015 when my vehicle sat for an extended time, this was a notable change. I scheduled an alignment appointment to follow the new tires I was getting that same morning eslewhere. I arrived fifteen minutes early and was greated promptly by a lady appearing to be a manager. As she got me set, she relayed it could take as long as an hour and a half, depending on what adjustments needed to be made, and I informed her that I'd be waiting. I took a walk and came back about fifteen minutes later to see that my car was already being serviced. Ten minutes later it was done. I write reviews based on experiences of all grades, not just those with a negative experience. I also believe in redemption if a business has earned it. I feel this particular business has. I cannot speak to the nature of any other reviews, and they do seem quite harsh. I can only speak to how I was treated on this particular occasion. Basically told me "too bad" and there's nothing they can do, so now I'm stuck with a car in worse shape then when I brought it in. First off, Shout Out to new StoreManager, Tynia Morris. My sense is that they transferred her from another location to get the Santee store up and running as there has been numerous management changes and some mixed reviews. Here's why I'm giving her praise. I had my complete AC system replaced less than two years ago on my class C motorhome. Because of pandemic and high gas prices, I was limited on using it much but would start it up every 4 to 6 weeks and would also run the A/C. Two weeks ago I noticed it was not blowing out cold, at all. I stopped in the store and spoke with Tynia and explained the situation. She looked up the work order and said that the warranty was 1 year or 12,000 miles - whichever is first. It was pushing 20 months but only about 2,000 miles! She scheduled me for the next week to bring it in to have her AC guy check it out. Needless to say, the compressor was leaking and she said she would still honor the warranty and cover labor. Wow! I was blown away!!! I left it with them and received a call later that day that the replacement unit was also defective, but she was going to another distributor for a different unit. That one worked. Needless to say, this was way beyond good service. Now I know why they put in her charge. I will definitely be back and give them an opportunity for some future automotive work as long as she's still there. read more

So I left for work and went to their web site to make an appointment for early the next day. I received an email saying my appointment was being processed. In the email it said "If your requested appointment date becomes unavailable, we will contact you directly to discuss rescheduling to a time that's convenient for you." I never received any contact so I assumed my appointment was set. When I got there in the morning the same (rude) clerk said that if I had an appointment he would see it in his computer and since I didn't have an appointment, and he had 4 real appointments for 8 am, it would be 3 to 4 hours. This company is ripping us off. My family has worked in the industry for 20 years and this place is ridiculous. They quoted me a recommendation for spark plugs. It's part of the 100k service, I'm at 90k, a little early, but whatever. They're quoting me $32.99 per spark plug. That's nearly a 250% markup from list. You can literally buy the exact same spark plug, same part #, from O'Reilly for $13.49. And O'Reilly is in the same parking lot as Firestone. WT$? Not to mention they get a discount off of that $13.49 as they have an account. And don't tell me it's because they get them from the dealer. Car manufacturers don't make spark plugs and you can order "oem" mopar plugs, still the same NGK IX plugs from mopar direct for $15. To add insult to injury they're charging $64.99 for fuel system service labor, they're pouring fuel system cleaner in your gas tank. That's right, with parts and labor $134.99 to put fuel injector cleaner in your gas tank. At that price, go to the dealer with factory techs. I always hated when people felt as a dealer we were just ripping them off, we weren't, but Firestone is. read more

I made an appointment for 8 am told me it would take about 2 hrs and I'd be on my way came back 2 hrs later my vehicle was left unlocked and they had stated that they didn't even move or attempt to work on my car at that time. Car still isn't done 5 hrs later that's with a appointment for tires that were already in the shop and a simple alignment. Actually updating last review... this is a ZERO! I was able to get a confirmed appointment but when I walked into the shop the manager was screaming at the top of his voice and threatening an employee and saying bring it on and motioning to the employee to come fight. Then the manager turned to me and shouted what do you want.....I Said I wanted him to stop yelling and he shouted do you want service...I said I had an appointment and he said be prepared to wait all day then stating he had issues and if I didn't like it I Had the choice to leave. I felt threatened and left. I called customer service they were very polite and apologetic and said there was nothing they could do since the area manager was not available but said they submitted comments. AVOID this place....workplace and customer facing violence seem to be taken lightly by this company and not deemed serious enough to take action more than to suit my complaint. read more

So I took a vehicle in because the undercarriage was hanging a bit from a messed up drive way and they fixed my car straight away without charge. I will be coming back here for sure! Thank you guys so much! read more

I've been bringing both my cars here for at least 5 years and every time, the suggestions and the work done has always been true and honest to the manufacturer's recommendations. If they can't do it, they will recommend who can and they've never pushed services I've never felt I needed. I like Firestone and will continue to being my cars for service read more

Safety, great customer service & reliable sums up this location! After being told by Costco tire center my tire was patchable and quickly changed their minds $11 & 90 minutes later, Firestone came to my rescue. They said my tire WAS indeed patchable and genuinely tried to execute great customer service. Gio & Salvator went out or their way to take care of my tire service needs. For that I am forever grateful because I left Costco basically told they weren't going to fix my tire and didn't care that I had no spare to change my quickly deflating tire. read more
