I dropped my car off at Discount Tire on Friday night after a tire blew out while I was driving from work to my house. The appointment was set for Saturday, but when I got there, the car's battery was dead. I asked for help, but no one would assist--I had to call a tow truck myself. They ignored my appointment, prioritized other cars, and the person who moved my car couldn't even drive manual, almost burning out my clutch. I left explicit instructions that the car needed to stay on to recharge, but they ignored it. When I got the keys back, the employee read the instructions, acknowledged they didn't do it, and just handed me the keys. I nodded, frustrated, and left. I went in expecting real support, but got rude, negligent service. Despite my family member's past good experiences, it's clear they only go out of their way to help female customers. I will never return, and I strongly advise others to avoid this shop. read more

Well, it seems like I had nothing but problems this month with needing three sets of vehicle tires, but hey - that's sometimes the way life goes right?! I had to get new tires for my truck, enclosed trailer and wife's SUV all within a matter of a few weeks. With that said, an already very expensive and stressful situation turned out to be a painless and quick process thanks to the team over at America's Tire. Adrian and his team: Anthony, Oscar, Jose over at the Imperial Avenue location (next to Costco) were spot on their customer service and professionalism! If I forgot to name anybody I apologize! Not only did they get me a set of non-stock tires within a few days, they got me in and out of the shop with my truck and trailer tires on a Saturday afternoon in under an hour! Following up with the other vehicle, they got me in on an afternoon appointment on the same day that I called, which was unexpected but awesome. Even having a full shop, with some folks standing, they were still able to get me in and out in a decent amount of time. Discount Tire store on Imperial Ave in El Centro was horrible today. I stood in line for over 30 mins while one guy at the counter (while with a customer in front of him), answered calls and a checked prices for the person on the phone. Meanwhile the people in line behind me (5 people) were all told it would be "just one minute". All of this while one another person was standing at a computer answering calls and not assisting with the line. I realize you have to answer calls, but when you have a line of people physically standing in your lobby waiting for help, you need to get those people checked in and explain to customers on the phone that there is a line. I've been to this store before and have always been treated with respect, but today was just not a good experience. read more

While passing through El Centro on my way from San Diego a few weeks ago I stopped in here and had some tires put on my truck. Rick Adams and his crew took care of my efficiently and courteously. They did such an amazing job that when I decided to put wheels on my truck I called Rick again and scheduled an appointment at his store to take care of me. When I find a business that treats their customers this way I do my best to support them, even if it means traveling 80 miles out of my way to do so. There was a minor snafu on my wheels today but, Rick quickly put a plan in to action and had me fixed up and on the road in no time. Inept. Deceptive. Dangerous After visiting four separate gas stations in town, all of which had non functional compressors, I opted for the "free" air pressure service at Discount Tire. Immediately upon arrival two of their staff informed me I had a flat tire, which was patently inaccurate. The tires air pressure was low, but it was not flat. They refused to out air in the tire and insisted they had to "repair" the tire. I informed them nothing was wrong with the tire, and that I believed they were attempting to scam me. The staff made several outrageous claims which demonstrated their utter lack of understanding of osmosis, metallurgy, and basic vehicle maintenance. After an hour and a half they informed me my rims were corroded, which tends to happen in trucks after 170,000 miles on salty, snowy roads. Finally they completed the complex task of putting some air in the tires, but unfortunately they failed to observe the OEM recommended pressure and dangerously over-inflated all four tires. It was even a consistent over-inflation, the tires were all filled to different levels, but consistently about 10PSI over the recommended amount. In case you're unfamiliar, even 5PSI over the recommended quantity makes a tire more likely to sustain damage when it goes over a pothole or bump on a dirt road. In conclusion, they were blatant liars who seemed to be setting up a scam for a replacement tire I did not need, and apparently backed out when I called them on it. Instead, they vindictively and dangerously attempted to sabotage my vehicle. Or perhaps they are just really that incompetent. read more

Great location!! On a recent road trip I blew a tire in the middle of the Mojave Desert. After getting my spare on I called the Discount Tire location in El Centro and spoke with Jesse. After telling him my story he told me they didn't have my exact tire in stock but they did have a few suitable replacement choices in stock. He estimated my distance from the store and made an appointment for me based on his estimate. He was almost spot on with the timing. Although the store was pretty busy Jesse took the time to show me some recommendations and I made my purchase. I handed the keys over and in about 35-40 minutes I was back on the road. I've used Discount Tire for my vehicles for many years. Last year I bought a set of very expensive Kevlar all-terrain tires for my 2016 Ram. I did everything I was supposed to do. Proper air pressure, etc. Yet here I was, a year later, with my rear tires worn down to the wear bars. Rick took a look and explained that the tire pressure listed on the door sticker and owners manual (80psi) was for when there was a heavy load in the back. With no weight in the back, the tire didn't "flatten" the tread to wear evenly. He went to bat for me and got a pro-rated refund and recommended tires that would work for my needs. I hated buying tires again after only a year of use, but with Ricks recommendations, I feel confident I'll get full use of these new ones. read more

Staff is very friendly and helpful. It's very convenient to stop and have my tires checked, especially because I don't have a tire Guage. Air pumps are not easily available. If they are, some require quarters, which I don't always carry and are sometimes inconvenient to obtain. This makes their service especially convenient and a nice perk. read more

An extremely nice, friendly young man quickly came out to check my tires and air them up. Being an "old " lady, I talked the poor young man's ear off! He was very pleasant when i apologized for rattling on. He said, "I'm here to listen." When I asked how much I owed, he said, " No charge." I told him I would return when I need new tires. I just bought a set of tires and TPMS for my vehicle, I made an appointment and the vehicle was "done" in about 40 minutes. Very quick service, the only problem is that they put the wheel and tire that was suppose to be in the trunk (spare tire) on the vehicle, the TPMS were not programmed, when they tried to program the sensors they did not work. Before they told me anything they proceeded to take the vehicle back to the bay area, I had to ask one of the employees and that's when he told me they were going to take the car back in to see what was wrong with the sensors. Also the spare tire in the trunk was not properly secure. I'm still waiting for the car almost two hours now. read more
