I brought my brand-new car in on a Saturday after popping a tire, and the experience has been quite frustrating. First, they told me they ordered the replacement tire -- but when I called on Monday to check the status, they admitted it was never ordered. They placed the order then, and by Friday, I was told my tire was finally ready. After picking it up, I realized they had ordered the wrong tire. On top of that, my wheel had several major scratches. Thankfully, Salvador, was very helpful and understanding throughout all the issues. He helped get the correct tire ordered and did his best to make things right, which I really appreciated. Still, when I went back to have the correct tire installed, the wheel came back in worse condition than before -- this is a new car to me, and my wheels were brand new when I brought them in. They did offer to reimburse me for the cost of having the wheel powder-coated to fix the damage, which I do appreciate, but honestly, that doesn't make up for the carelessness. I now have to spend my own time and energy finding someone to repair something that should never have been damaged in the first place. First photo was Friday, the first time we picked up the wheel. Second photo was today after the correct wheel was put on. ****EDITED**** 11/27/25 I received an email from the support team saying they would reach out, yet it has been over 2 weeks and no response. I did have to take my vehicle to another shop because Discount Tire did not balance my wheels, and weights had been knocked off. Not only that, the new shop informed me that my wheel is bent. I received a price quote and took some the sales persons name and came in a few days later to buy tires The person I spoke to was off that day and the current sales guy advised me that they don't offer that discount and that " I have trouble believing that was ever given to you " Well guess what ? A year later, I'm back in North Idaho driving down 95 and the tire pressure warning light comes on and the pressure is dropping. I'm less than a mile from this Discount Tire, so I swing in late Saturday afternoon and they're just closing the doors. But, I'm greeted by a very friendly tech named Rafe. He says he will have a look, finds a screw in the tire and says he will check with the manager to see if they can stay late and fix it. Yes and yes, 30 minutes later I'm back on the road, no charge! I was in town for the 4th of July and on my way over i90 I got a flat and put on my spare. My dad who's owned a dirt and trucking company for over 40+ years and has dealt with Les Schwab and discount looked at the tire and told me to go get it patched the tire is still good. But to deal with Les Schwab instead of this discount tire as they've had some not so great experiences with this discount while in town but that Les Schwab on government was much better. I went on here to look at reviews and thought maybe it had changed since my parents had that experience and over on our side Discount is who you want to deal with. Who I've always worked with and has done an exceptional job. I've been a customer for 15ish years and they were always exceptional with all my tire needs especially when it came to my M6. I went against my dads advice and found out really quickly that he was right and this discount is not good. So I had made an appointment to get the tire repaired before heading back out of town. Showed up and the associate came to look at the tire that needed to be repaired and he said oh this tire is too worn how about we look at replacing them. I said oh you can't just use a plug an patch on this tire? Theirs no cords showing, these tires aren't bald. He pointed to the wear towards the outside tread, then took some hand held scanning tool near the tire (not on the tire) and said no because of these two things we can't. I said oh I was told that outside tread wear is just because I need an alignment and the puncture is no where near there, it's in the middle of the tire between the treads and these aren't bald. He said no we can't let's go back inside to see what tires are available. I reluctantly entertain the idea but I'm leaving in 2 days, you don't have much in stock, and I'm thinking in the back of my head this tire is repairable he's just pushing for a sale. Well he attempted to sell me on some off road truck tire that I had zero interest in as my truck has more of a street freak type of tire on it. I've been planning on getting new tires sometime next year as I do mostly local driving with my truck and been eyeing these Pirelli Scorpions so unless you got those in stock I'm good I'll go over to Les Schwab instead and see if they can't just repair the tire. Which he adamantly replied they won't, the tire is too worn. Well I left and went to the Les Schwab down the road on Government my dad originally suggested and guess what they took my tire to be repaired. So the day I was heading out of town I made an early AM appointment with Schwab to put it back on my truck and the repaired tire is doing great back here on the west side of WA. At no repair cost to me either. I was actually really disappointed in discount cause that's whom I've always used and where I live at they put the majority of Les Schwab to shame but apparently it's the opposite in Idaho. Honestly I think the sales guy was being lazy, assumed I didn't know any better and wanted to just shove 4 new tires down my throat instead of scheduling a hour tire repair. read more

Time to say goodbye after 15 years buying exclusively from Discount Tire Hayden. Wifes Acura has thrown approx 50% of Studs on Nokian Hakkapelitta 8 SUV winter tires. Wife is a mom and drives like a grandma. I have the same tires and drive 100% the opposite and have all studs intact. We don't live or really ever drive on gravel roads, car is aligned and seasonal changeovers have been religious. I called to inquire about options like warranty or their customer satisfaction guarantee. After admitting there might be a Nokian rubber defect and being told there is nothing they can do after being on hold 3 times hearing their customer satisfaction guarantee on repeat loop; "If your ever not satisfied with your purchase, bring it back and we'll get you taken care of," I can not believe the level of irony. read more

I've been buying my tires there for years. Always very helpful and polite. But I didn't like that they sold me windshield wipers,which seem to be very cheap ones. The one side has fell off a couple of time. I'm 78 years old and I had a hard time getting it to stay on. So I guess what I'm saying is don't let them sell you windshield wipers.. they should stick with tires. The store was very busy with the technicians obviously hustling to get things done as they always seem to do. I had to wait three hours the first time I was there to get my new tires put on so they promised me a discount half of the installation fee to be taken care of. Little did I know they didn't balance my rear tires there was no weights on them and it was confirmed by a mechanic. So I went back, waited another two hours finally got my tires balanced. I thought for sure they would've given me that discount that he specify the first time. My husband and I were travelling through Coeur d'Alene when suddenly the tire on our car started to make a horrible noise. We were able to pull into the parking lot of a Credit Union to see what the problem was. We could hear the air gushing out of the tire. My husband jacked up the car and removed the tire. There was a set of keys embedded in the tire! The good people at the Credit Union came out bringing bottles of water (thank you to them - it was hot!) to see if they could help. My husband already had the spare tire put on. The credit union people recommended that we go to Discount Tire to have the tire repaired. What exceptional service! They treated us like gold. They repaired and installed the tire. Put the spare tire in place in the trunk and turned the air conditioner on full blast so the car wouldn't be too hot for us to get into. Hayden Store BUYER BEWARE- if you have worked with discount tire like I have before and had excellent service. Your in for a Rude Awakening this place has very poor service and less than exciting attitude at trying to correct issues. I got online discount web site looked up some tires for a commuter car & called in the Order to the Hayden store and was told it would be a couple weeks. I was told they would give me a call. After 7-10 days with Snow in the forecast I called to check on them and found out they are discontinued. I spoke to Roland said he orders all the tires for this store and asked what other options he had he mentioned several other options stating discontinued , studded or all season. I let him know I don't want all season tires & asked when they planned on calling me he had no response. He had smug attitude and lack luster customer service on the phone. We just got out of walmart and heared what sounded like a flat tire. I got out and saw we pick up a screw in the tire. I knew if I pulled it out, we would have a flat. We saw discount tires and it looked open so we stopped. I asked the guy behind the counter if he could help me out. I had no idea they were closing. He looked at me and said let's go take a look. This store has the worst customer service. I bought four new tires from here. From day one they have had the worst balance. I had like the death wobble from leaving the shop. went back in The next day to re-balanced. Drove great for couple weeks and had to go back to re-balance already. This is the story of this tires. They sell you a bad Batch of tires and do absolutely nothing. I just have to keep going in every couple weeks to re-balance. It's been horrible. Never disappointed when I choose this location. I had a bit of a weird call with one of the guys when I called and had to call again and was told 5-hour wait to get a nail out of my tire and patch it. I was homeward bound back to Oregon, so I had to go ahead and do it. I made some plans, dropped my car off and had a friend pick me up. Enjoying the brisk fall afternoon and my phone rings 45 mins later. The car is done! Unfortunately, you guys lost a customer today. After many years and multiple sets of tires for various vehicles, I have taken my business elsewhere. I just moved to the area and had used Discount Tire where I lived previously and was always treated well and taken care. I get my tires rotated regularly, and typically come in right at opening time and get in and out quickly. This morning, I stopped into your Hayden location just after 8am and told the gentleman at the front that I was just there for a tire rotation. He told me that he "strongly recommends that I make an appointment." I asked, really, for a tire rotation?? He responded that it would be three or four hours otherwise, and no way he could guarantee it be quicker than that otherwise. He said that they were understaffed and too busy. I told him that I just moved to the area, have used DT for many years and have always been in and out for a rotation. Again, he said that they were understaffed and nothing else he could do. Told him if that was the kind of service I can expect from this shop, then I'd have to take car, and my business, over to Les Schwab. Again, nothing he could do for me. I went down the street to Les Schwab (where I sit now writing this review), asked about a tire rotation, they said they could get it done within 30-45 minutes. Within 10 minutes, my truck was already on a lift getting worked on. Unfortunate for DT that they are understaffed, but that's really not my problem; I need a tire shop that I can rely on and not have to plan my day around a simple tire rotation process.
