Our recent experience was a mixed bag: The initial service seemed fine and in keeping with what I have come to expect from Les Schwab. However, hours after my daughter left the business driving her Toyota 4Runner, one wheel fell off of the vehicle. Fortunately she was driving very slowly on a snow-covered residential street when this happened. I contacted the store the next morning and spoke to Kenny, the manager on duty. He arranged for a tech to meet us at the vehicle and put the spare on. The tech beat us there. He already had the vehicle lifted and was waiting for the keys to access the spare. It was bitter cold (maybe 20 degrees) during this time. He put on the spare, made sure it was adequately inflated, and then checked the torque on the remaining wheels. My daughter drove the vehicle to Schwab, where Kenny explained that the likely reason for the mishap was that this particular wheel had to have the TPM removed by drilling it out. They washed out the resulting debris. Kenny believed that the wheel had ice on the backside when it was installed on the vehicle and properly torqued (per reviewing the video of the service bay in question). The ice eventually melted, resulting in loose lug nuts. Kenny explained the above to me not as an excuse, but simply as an explanation of what likely occurred. He told me that Les Schwab would make the vehicle whole again at no cost to us. He made it so. As a result of the mishap, the wheel was damaged, the wheel studs were questionable, the rotor cover was bent, and an internal portion of the fender popped off. Kenny ordered a new wheel, they replaced all of the studs, bent the rotor cover back into position, and purchased and installed new clips to hold the fender component back in place. Another factor was that after having the new tires installed, my daughter drove to the dealer to have an oil change performed. It was possible that the dealer had removed the wheel during their service, but since they were closed for Christmas Eve, we were unable to speak to them. Kenny waved this matter aside, saying that he would correct everything even if it was the dealer who made the error. While it was very disconcerting to have the wheel fall off, Kenny did the absolute best he could to satisfy us as customers. I am sure the tech who installed the wheel with ice on it learned an important lesson. Kenny's ownership of the circumstance and measures to correct it left us feeling very satisfied with Les Schwab. Kenny could lead a Master Class on customer service. read more

I went into the Hayden, Idaho store today because I was losing air in my tire (tires that I did NOT purchase there) They pulled my car back within 20 minutes and pulled a screw out of my tire and repaired it. I asked how much I owed them. The nice worker told me, "nothing.. we don't want your money" I was shocked. I was expecting to pay SOMETHING!!! very awesome place and amazing customer service! I called to get some new atv tires mounted that I hadn't purchased from les Schwab. The lady said since I didn't purchase the tires from them that it was a liability, and it would be $250 for 4 tires. I then called two other tire stores, one of which was a different les Schwab in town. And boom.... $20 a tire at the first one and the other les Schwab was $18.... that includes dismounting the old ones too. I'd stay away from this location and drive a little further to a business that's not going to price gouge you. read more

Didn't know they fixed flats for free - that was a nice surprise. They pulled up my car, waiting for me and ready to go when the service was done, and even put away my spare tire and all the tools that I had rolling around in the trunk from putting on my spare. well here we go again!! ive been fighting these people for 1 1/2 years and they dont care all they want is there money. Lift kit and rims and tires installed almost 2 years ago. they forgot part fought them on that finally got them. they tricked me on replacing the front shocks and said the shocks would be credited. And because they said that and i signed the black electronic pad they said i signed for another 1700 dollars next time sign the paper not the pad that doesnt say what it is. 3 months in rusted out back shocks, tires couldnt be balanced no matter what they did, tires are now totally gone and the upper control arms were installed wrong causing wear on the tires and my cv joints to have to much play which caused my needle bearings to go bad causing debris in my front differential. toyota wont warranty it because they said they should have put in upgraded needle bearings les schwabb said this kit would not void warranty but it did so a 4000 dollar lift and tires has now cost me a total of 9800 dollars and i still have to take it back in to toyota to finish the front dif which is another 2200. trust me not worth the headache. im now working on a class action suit with several other people and looking for me to join for numerous claims read more

tootk my tires in to have studs put on and they lost my lug nut then turned around and told me it was already gone and needed a nother post for the nut to go on because it was broken which wasnt true and i know it had all of them on. I always take my car there for tires so if it werent on it would he them but it was on and i got another lug nut and it went right on nothing new needed like they said. read more

spent almost $3000 on new tires, breaks and got an alignment. that all went good. came back with a nail in my tire a week later. I was told it will take an hour, 3 hours later they are getting finished, I asked to talk to the manager. I told the manager (who had given original time frame) I was told an hour and it's been three, this is ridiculous. I said I had a tire done at a competitor and it took 15 min. he said "good for them." he just turned his back and wa liked away. came back 5 min later and Sais checked my cameras you have been here 30 min. I said yes after waiting almost 2.5 hours for a call to say they are ready. I said this is how you treat customers? I wont be coming back. he said that is fine. I'm blown away, being a manager myself I would never talk to a customer this way. I have been going here for years, not anymore. called regional manager, had to leave message and have not heard back. just not impressed. read more

If I could rate Les Schwab with negative stars I would. Went in to get an alignment that needed done. After an 1.5 hr wait, the mechanic says I need to replace my CV axels right away before they snap. 1200$ job. What he did not know was that I personally replaced my cv axels about 3 months ago and know they are completely fine. Then he says he couldn't do my alignment because the lower control arm was "stuck". You know what mechanics do when it's stuck? They get it unstuck! So now he's trying to tell me I need to replace both lower control arms before they can do another alignment. A 1100$ job. I instantly knew that this is the type of place that would prey on the ignorance of others and I left. Took my truck over to Lloyd's auto, you know, to get a professional opinion. I explained the situation and who would have thought? They came back and said my front end is in sound condition, knocked out the tire alignment. Because of their honesty, I let them do my brakes and rotors to give them business, even though I could hVe done it myself. I will never go to Les Schwab again and I'll tell everyone I know or meet about my experience. Complete trash. Dirty. People, go to Lloyd's and get honest work done. Don't bring business to these guys. In reply to their comment, I will NEVER step foot in a Les Schwab again. Already said that in my post. I have been using Les Schwab for years and ever since we moved to Hayden they are right down the road from us. Generally I had good service in the past and we have purchased tires from them for all of our cars. The last time we used them we dropped off our Mercedes for a flat tire repair that they don't charge for. We picked up the car and brought it home. Once in the driveway I noticed that they there was a bout a 2" ding in the end of the door like it had been smashed. They even put white out on it to cover the dent/damage. I couldn't believe that a "free" flat tire cost me hundreds in door ding repair. I can't believe that they covered it up with "white out" Do yourself a favor and before you leave the lot inspect your car and make sure there is no damage because the second you leave the lot they will say nothing happened and it is your fault. Shame on the tech who wouldn't own up to his mistake. I appreciate that they hustle and go fast but maybe they should slow down and do it right. On a side note I went to the competitor down the road and the same tires where less than half the cost! read more

I bought my tires at this location. They came to my house fixed my tire after running over a nail. These people care about service. Buying tires can be expensive but when you factor in the service provided here... there's nobody who does it better. Hard working local people should be rewarded by loyalty and this business has my loyalty and future business. Thank you for working so hard for us. I will be replacing my factory installed sensor on my Ford F-150 in a few weeks. My trucks old. Got 11 years on my factory tires so not slamming Ford. Loyalty is everything. read more

They quoted me $200 to change over tires on my Neon since I didn't buy them there. Funny they only charge $60 to swap winters to my stock tires on my other vehicle. Going to another tire place who is only charging $60. Price gaugers just because I didn't want to purchase their over priced tires for this car, after spending over $1300 there in tires for 2 other vehicles this winter. I always stuck with Les Schwab because they're the only place that carries Toyo tires, my brand of choice. I had taken my van in to Les Schwab for new tires, and they told me that my idler arm was going bad, and I should get it fixed soon. A couple of months later, I went in to do so, I dropped off my van, and about an hour, the technician called me and told me that there was nothing wrong! My husband told me that he wanted me to get a second opinion, so I went to Lloyd's to have them double check, and not only was my idler arm about to go out, but there were a few other problems as well! Les Schwab may sell good tires, but when it comes to servicing my vehicle, I'm gonna take someone else's word for it, thankyouverymuch. read more

I've been a Les Schwab customer my entire life. Every new tire I own has come from there. I have always thought of them as a pretty top-notch service at a reasonable price. Unfortunately, I believe that there has been a serious decline in recent years. I've given them multiple opportunities to keep earning my business by showing flexibility and competitiveness, but they have repeatedly fallen short. Today was the last straw. They refused to offer the same service for tires I purchased through them and match the price from the chain down the road. To boot, the gals I spoke with were rather rude about my inquiry. About 15 minutes after hanging up we received a call from Ricky and he found some tires that were slightly used ( 2,000miles) that would fit and in our budget. Almost everyone at les schwab had always been professional and courteous, but at the Hayden Lake ID store the manager Craig is the problem! After being told that I should transfer my account to a nearby store because I use it more (two times in my life), I came in to pay my bill and was told I HAD to transfer my account to Rathdrum ID via Craig in Hayden to pay it. I did and they are like most employees at every other store on the west side of this country, awesome. Glad this guy is retiring this year, I recommend using any les schwab but Hayden Lake! read more

I took my vehicle in to have my breaks inspected because they were not feeling right and Hayden Les Schwab told me the breaks worked fine. A few days later I was driving down a hill with my senior citizen mother and we lost the brakes completely. I used the emergency break to thankfully bring the vehicle to a stop. I called towing company and had the van towed to Hayden Les Schwab where i was told the breaks were working fine and it was out of fluid. I asked if they inspected the fluid level before I left and they told me that maybe somebody in my neighborhood drained my brake fluid. Man where do I start with the Hayden Idaho store! I have shopped at Les Schwab since 1995 and would have never ever thought of going else where. There are quite a few reasons why 1 being their tires are way way too expensive and the service has absolutely dropped to nothing. So I set up an appointment to have the struts and shocks changed on my wifes Seqouia and to have an alignment done on my truck the same day, a Friday. We were leaving for an antelope hunt that weekend so I wanted to make sure the vehicles were ready to go and safe. So before hand I had them order the struts and shocks for her car so everything was there and ready to go when dropped them off. I drop the truck off and they did the alignment so then I left the Seqouia. 4 hours goes by so we check on it, inly to see it is still parked in the lot. I walk over to the alignment/rack area and there are zero vehicles in there so I ask the manager what time he thinks it will be done. In a rude tone real snide he tells me it wont be, that they dont have time to do it. We explained we had an appointment and that we needed it done before we leave but he wouldnt relent and stand by our appointment. Guy was a total cull! Another scenario involved warranty on a tire that failed. I took the tire off of my wifes car and dropped it off at around 10 am. They hard timed me asking why I didnt bring the vehicle in and why I was only doing one tire. My reply was that only one tire had failed (which it honestly did), then they gave me "its the alignment not the tire story. After much debating they finally gave me $60 off a new tire. So we leave come back in the afternoon and I ask if the tire is done. Lady at the front desk says no it isnt, so I walk back out to the truck only to see my rim sitting in the shop with a new tire on it. There is literally no one in the bays so I go into the back room and find one of the shop guys. He walks out to the shop with me and I say "thats my rim so I just want to make sure that is my tire done", looks on the computer and says yep it yours, then walks away goes out to a car parked in the parking lot of which a gal gets out and gives him a hug. He just stands there visiting with her and completely ignores us. So I tell my wife "I guess I am packing the tire out of their shop". Funny thing is we were parked right next to where him and his girlfriend were hanging out. Thats not the last of it though! We wake up in the morning and I go out to warm up the Seqouia only to find that the new tire is flat. So I call and tell them hey the tire you just replaced....its flat. They tell me to bring the vehicle in to which I say no you come fix the tire (thats why we pay more right is for service?!). She says our mobile truck is not set up to fix tires, to which I reply why is it I have to change to my spare and drive into town when you have a mobile truck, he can come and put the spare on. This is after years of frustration from this Hayden store so I am not relenting for once they are going to stand behind their products and service gaurantee. Mobile truck comes and he calls my cell phone as I was gone "Ya I am here what am I supposed to do withthis tire? Its flat and I cant fix flats." "Well you are going to put my spare on, take your shitty tire back to Les Schwab and get it fixed" "I dont do that" (WTF good is a mobile tire truck if you cant change a spare?!!!) "Well you are going to do that because my next call will be to Prineville as I am tired of picking up your stores slack". Calls back 15 minutes later "Valve Stem valve was loose and leaking air". Come home and tire is aired up, but still wont hold air....guess what they didnt replace the valve stem when they changed the tire. 3 times we took the Seqouia in for breaks, kept getting ABS codes for low fluid. Now mind you when they do breaks they supposedly replace everything. Well the calipers wouldnt stop leaking and they kept giving excuses of how they "just need bled". So finally I went and bought calipers, rotors and pads and fixed the problem myself. To be honest I wouldnt recommend my worst enemy to go to this store they are awful!!! read more

I've been going to Les Schwab in Hayden for 12 years. I've always gotten wonderful, friendly service, and great prices. They have been willing to help me out whenever need, whether it be provide me with an account to make payments, provide me fairly priced parts, minimal manual labor charges, sipe a tire for free to match my other four, and provide honest quality labor on my car. I've never had any issues, and I go to them over regular mechanic shops whenever possible. I can't say enough good things about Les Schwab! I recommend them to anyone and everyone! read more

For a company who prides themselves on kindness, they have shown otherwise by telling me I was not allowed to drive my car anywhere until I could pay hundreds of dollars to have them work on it. I went to the Hayden Les Schwab for an alignment because I had changed out some parts in the front end of my Subaru like tie rods etc. The alignment was ok until I hit a pothole and then the alignment was off and the steering wheel went crooked. I ended up having to reschedule and take my Subaru back in to get the alignment checked. After they checked it out the guy who does the alignment took me into the shop and showed me that the tie rods had play in them (cheap Chinese parts) and that was the reason for the alignment being off. I agreed with him. Then he proceeded to lecture me for bringing the car back in under warranty and he told me that he has a perfect track record and that the only thing he needs to remember is that Les Schwab has been giving good service since 1957 and he gives the same exact good service. The guy took it very personal that I brought my car back in and I feel this was very unnecessary. It added insult to injury because I had to buy new parts, do all the labor over again, and pay for another alignment (at a different Les Schwab). He should also remember that its just business and not a personal attack on him. read more

My husband took our Yukon in this morning so get a safety inspection before we took off on a road trip. The person that inspected it told him that everything looked good and our brakes were at 100%. My husband then mentioned that there has been a squealing sound when we turn the wheel and the guy told him that is was probably just the brakes not fully lining up(what!?!) but everything was just fine. My husband proceeded to take our Yukon to Silverlake Automotive to see if the squealing sound was our power steering or something else. They inspected the vehicle and found that our REAR BRAKES WERE COMPLETELY SHOT! METAL ON METAL!! They were also in disbelief that Les Schwab would tell us everything was fine since it was completely obvious just be looking at it and driving it that they needed replacing!! Not only that, our emergency brake was not functioning either!!! So much for a freaking safety inspection!!! I can't even imagine what would have happened had we not taken it somewhere else! I will not be taking any of my other vehicles to Les Schwab ever again! Worst service ever! read more

worst customer service i have had in my whole life !!! i am a senior citizen..... i went in because having a problem with my brake sticking.... they said they found nothing wrong with it... and broke my gas pedal so i could not drive it out of there. asked if they would fix it ,since it was not broke when i brought it in....and the assistant manager was very rude to me and said he would not fix anything for me...told me good luck.... wow, i am an older woman and did not expect to be treated like that.....did he treat me like that because i was a woman or because i was old??? i don't know how you can run a business where you treat your customers with no respect.... i will not be going there again.... they cost me money and i would not take my vehicle there if i where you either !!! maybe some of the other les schwab sites have decent people that care and will fix something if it is there fault... i would hope so anyway..... it is sad how society can treat senior citizens and get away with it.... will not be back there again ever...... giving lowest rating available...due to no respect for older people and not fixing what they broke on my car.... shame on you... i was discriminated against for being a woman and a senior citizen !!!!! read more
