Quickly and efficiently, they fixed the tire then mounted it as the spare tire which was over 20 years old. The set of tires purchase elsewhere out of state where we live were two weeks old. Angel, Tiguan (?), and Peter! There was another guy at the counter who was super nice but I didn't catch his name. We came in for service to a leaky tire and from the moment we walked in the door these guys were super welcoming and had genuine smiles and a willingness to help. There is NOT a lot of good customer service out here now days and one of the last places you'd expect to see it is a tire shop but they blew us away. They made sure they checked all boxes when it comes to Customer Service and fast service. Everyone made eye contact and smiled. Do NOT buy tires from this place. I ordered snow tires, and they emailed me that the tires are in. When I got there, they said they lost a tire and only had 3. I still had to pay for 4 tires or they wouldn't let me leave with my vehicle. They are supposed to call me when they find the 4th tire, but its been 2 weeks already. Had my tires rotated and two weeks later, while having new brakes installed elsewhere, mechanic discovered cross threaded lag bolt requiring hub/bearing replacement. It happens. Contacted Discount Tire corporate via email explaining situation and got phone call from Kevin (Mgr) within 4 hours. We played phone tag over next few days. DT offered to repair at shop near them but vehicle was at another shop 20 miles away awaiting repair on last wheel. Kevin arranged for approval to use other shop to repair and DT fleet management group contacted me within an hour to process claim. Check for repair (I paid the initial bill) arrived within a week. Kevin communicated well and helped make an unfortunate situation better by taking care of business. Do appreciate the extra effort he put in to make things right and will continue to do business with their shop in the near future. read more

I used to be a very loyal Discount Tire customer. I have always bought from them and even took my girlfriends son there recently. Loyalty, however, has its limits and Discount Tire has exceeded it, and then some. Earlier this year I took my car in because it had a slow leak. They said they fixed it and I went about my business for about a month until the same tire went flat again. This time they said they could not find a leak and the tire was ok. I new that was not right, but it was a free service so I purchased a portable air pump and used it on a number of occasions. One morning the tire was flat again air was coming out of a crack in the sidewall. I could not change the tire because there was an odd size nut on it. There were also two lug nots that where only hand tight. So I had to hire a wrecker. I went straight to good old Discount Tire in Holland Michigan. I spoke to the manager about the problem with the lug nuts. He went right on the defensive and denied any responsibility for the odd lug nut and really didn't even address the two loose ones. All I really wanted was some assurance that this was some fluke but he was adamant that he watches the techs like a hawk. I was less then satisfied with his response but I purchased four new tires anyway, they were coming due. I gave them the keys at 11:00am and I was given a completion time of 5:30 - 6:00pm. At 5:00pm I called the shop for an update and the answering machine, which recognized my phone number, announced that my car would be ready by 6:00pm. It was quarter to 6pm when I got there fully expecting to grab my keys and go. Needless to say I was a bit miffed when I was told that I was going to have to wait another hour. When I asked to speak to the manager again I was told that he was not there. I had to speak to the Senior Assistant Manager, who copped attitude with me right away. He spun his monitor around and pointing at the screen said, "see how busy we are." I pointed out that he took on too much work at the expense of customer service. I played the recording of the promised completion time for him (and everyone else.) That's when I started to hear from other customers who received promises. It would seem that Discount Tire spends more time on sales training then on job estimating. The Senior Assistant Manage complained out loud how he was going to be there all night (getting paid). So out loud I promised to help him in the future by never coming back. I thought that was the end of it and sat down with the dozen or so others and occupied myself with composing a quick Yelp review. About fifty minutes later I received a text that my car was ready. I was never told to expect such a message. It would have been nice to know. I gathered my belongings and headed to the front to pick up my car. I am sure that I was visibly annoyed. It had been a long day made longer by carelessness, disrespect, and incompetents of others. As the tech stepped out of the car, holding my keys out, he launched into a mechanical delivery of the company script. Without a word I took the keys got into my car and closed the door. Yes, that was a little impolite but it didn't warrant what came next. He leaned in toward my window and in a loud sing-song voice he thanked me for my "patients." As he walked away laughing, I rolled down my window and thanked him for being an asshole. As I rolled my window back up I expected him to return the blessing, but he didn't. Instead, he stood in the open doorway and yelled, "if you come in here again, I'll KICK YOUR ASS." I was stunned, not because I've never heard that phrase before. I was stunned because it came from an employee of a business directed at a customer. When he walked into the service area, laughing the whole way, I entered the show room. Standing behind the counter, and a witness to the encounter, was a person I would assume to be the Junior Assistant Manager. I asked to speak to the manager and he asked why. I told him he heard what his coworker said and he said that he didn't know what happened outside. That was certainly a good point but irrelevant because I asked to talk to the manager. I had to ask three times before he rolled his eyes and walked off in a huff. As I waited for the manager I watched as the grey hooded tech share his mirth with the other employees; all of whom seemed to enjoy the story he was telling. When the manager arrived my discussion with him was as pointless as the first. I cut it short and went to my car to wait for the cops to arrive. I knew that nothing was going to happen at this level so I wanted a report to send to their corporate. read more

update to my review of 9/7/2022 The manager of the store called me to apologize for the lack of service and promptly made it up to me. I was in and out within a half hour with a repaired tire. At no charge. The person who originally took my service request on Sept 7, mistakenly indicated that the tire needing service was one purchased at that store, and therefore would have been repaired for free. However, the person who worked with me on my return indicated that the tire with the issue was one originally purchased with the car from the dealer and not a replacement tire. He pretty much brushed off that fact and did not charge me for the repair, although he would have been perfectly within his right to do so, I believe. So Discount Tire schedules me for an appointment for a rotation and rebalance at 1:15pm. I show up 10 minutes early just to be told that it wont be done until 2:15pm. My vehicle was pulled into the bay at 1:45 pm and no one did anything to it until about 2. If I ou guys weren't going to to work on it until 2 why not just schedule my appointment til then and make the damn walk-ins wait. I use to work here a few years back and we were always on time for customers' appointments. read more

4 o'clock appointment for tire rotation and it is now 5 and still waiting to go into the bay. Was told it would take a bit longer because the passenger side tires are on "backwards". (Rotating the wrong way). These guys put them on last year so they screwed it up. read more

On a family road trip we got two screws in a tire on the hwy, 6hrs into a 10hr trip with two young kids. Called 90 minutes before close and they were able to make an emergency apt and repaired within 40mins and sent us on our way. I ordered a set of new rims, as my old ones were all having a slow leak. Every one of them by 10 psi or around there every week or so. They had to go. I did get a good deal on a new chrome set, with warranty for a good price. An area for improvement is follow up with the customer, or an easier way for the customer to track the order. It took probably a good 3 months to get the set when I was told at first 6-8 weeks. They were a need at the point I was at. I could plan better that way, could've gone somewhere else as they were a NEED. It is a supplier issue and COVID, I get that. I just wish a better communication was happening especially when about $850 was paid up front. I will say, this has been my go to place for tires or tire repair. Their warranties... GET ONE. They honor it if something happens. read more

This is not specifically about service at Discount Tire but more about the caliber of employees they hire. I am an Allstate agent and a customer of mine called me looking for a tow because she has a flat tire and was stranded On side of the road. I showed up to assist her and a guy with a Discount Tire hat and jacket was already halfway through changing her tire. Jon was printed on jacket. He and his wife happened to be driving by and stopped to help. They found out some other tire shop "repaired " the tire an hour earlier today. Jon and his wife also went with customer to this shop who shall remain nameless. Again It was NOT at Discount Tire shop to be clear. Jon went to this other shop and advocated for her because the poor repair now ruined her tire beyond further repair. His expertise also convinced other shop to ultimately give her a new tire free. Kudos to Discount Tire for employing high caliber kind people like Jon that stop to help stranded strangers. read more

Had an appointment to get winter tires put on, 25 minutes into them working on my car someone comes out to tell me a lug nut "had been compromised" before my car got here & it broke in half while they were trying to get it off & in result they are not able to get that one wheel off but are able to change the other 3. They sent me to another auto place to weld the piece back on & told me to bring my car back to change the 4th wheel after I go get my lug nut welded back together... was told I would not be reimbursed because it was "comprised" before my car got here, it was a "rare case" for lug nuts breaking in half like that. Attempted to make an appointment days in advance but that was not available. I cannot believe this is the process they have in place, you cannot run a business like this. Just picked up my bmw from getting new tires and found the rear left wheel had a couple of scratches and paint chips. I went back in the store and after looking at the wheel they let me know that they were not able to tell if the scratch was there beforehand but that they would get someone to look at repairing the wheel. Now I have to contact and schedule a repair with alloy wheel specialists to get it fixed. If I do get it fixed properly, I will update this, if not, I will make my disappointment known in other social media outlets. This is exceptionally un professional. If you scratch a wheel, admit it, don't park the car outside in the snow and hope I don't notice. The scratch was visible from a distance. read more

What a rip-off, walked in and was told that for my one slow leaky tire we needed to replace all 4 tires for a total of $770..... Told them no and took the car to a local shop. They fixed it for $20!! The guy at discount tire was confused when we told him we were taking the car somewhere else, well maybe you'd get my money if you didn't try and rip me off first. 10/10 don't recommend unless you're planning on getting 4 new tires and spending $800. read more

My tire developed a leak that needed an immediate fix. I'm new to the area so called around. I was able to get in right away and this was the only place that fixes tires for free. Ordered tires on a Thursday. I confirmed that they would be able to put them on the following week. I was told "yes no problem." I was asked to pay a deposit which I did. A few days later on the following Wednesday I got a call saying that my tires where in and that I could swing by and have them put on and it should take less than an hour. I asked what time and was told anytime because it was a slow day. I told them 03:30pm and was told "no problem." Showed up at 03:30pm and was told it would be an hour and a half. I had planned to spend an hour so I asked about rescheduling but was told they were booked into next week. As I needed the tires before a weekend trip I agreed to wait. After 1.5 hours at 05:00pm I inquired about the status of my vehicle and was told that it hadn't been started yet. I mentioned that I was told it would be done by now and they told me that the estimations are just estimations but that they would get to it eventually. Absolutely abhorrent service. Will never be back. Addition and somewhat unrelated complaint but the bathroom was disgusting. Like worse than an outhouse bathroom. Which was also made worse by the fact that I was there waiting for almost 3 hours for a confirmed appointment. read more

Today we had a very upsetting experience at Discount Tire. We understood it was black Friday but we needed our car serviced. We took it in about 3 pm and was told we were 30th in line and we could wait - knowing that we were that far in line we opted to have them call us. At 6 pm we called (no one answered after 25 minutes of being on hold) so we drove over because we hadn't heard and knew they were closing. They reassured us that they were still working just not taking new cars.. At 9 pm this evening we drove back because we had not heard nor had our call answered to find the store closed, staff in vehicles leaving and our car unlocked, trunk popped and keys in the car. I called then to get a quote to put on my winter tires .I bought the tires was on the vehicle but the winter tires I did not buy from them which they ask me where did the tires come from because the winter tires didn't come from them they quoted me $130 if it would have been the rate would have been a lot less .Their competitor across the street quoted me $70 to put them on and I explained to them that and they didn't seem to care very poor customer service never purchase again ,customer beware!!! read more

The guys at discount tires not only provided a great service, but went above and beyond to ensure we made it to our wedding on time! We were on our way to a close friend's wedding and blew a tire - once we put on the spare and got to discount tires, we were in jeopardy of missing the ceremony! And we hadn't done our hair and make up yet! So the guys at discount turned their waiting room into a salon. They brought in mirrors from the bathrooms and allowed is to use the plugs to dry and curl our hair. They were kind, funny, and accommodating.
