Today was my first experience with Discount Tire. I stopped at the Orem store first and the employee I talked to was condescending right off the bat. I asked him if some tires I was looking at online were in stock. He retorted, "What does it say? If it says in stock they're in stock." I was like, "Oh... okay... I think I'll try your Lindon location,"and left. Then I stopped at the Lindon store and met Jonathan (Jony). Dude might be the best sales person I've ever met. Took his time to explain everything. Verified that the tires I had been looking at were, in fact, NOT in stock in Lindon or Orem (as opposed to what the website said) and recommended some alternatives that were in stock. Took time to come look at my truck, brought the tire out to look at next to my truck, and found a discount for me to boot! We'll see how the tires ride and wear, but so far I'm very pleased with the value. And he saved me $900 on a set of tires over Les Schwab. read more

Okay, so Discount Tire's definitely made my day today!!! Talk about professional, speedy, and amazing customer service!!! I got a flat tire on I-15 and needed a new tire ASAP. I called all the Goodyear stores (mind you, I was already sitting in Discount Tire's Peking lot) , but no one had the tire in stock! I needed it ASAP & decided "Ok, let's just see if discount tires has the tire I need." And they did!! The man I spoke with at the front desk was awesome & knew exactly what he was doing. He was quick, got straight to the point and at least SEEMED interested in his job:) (Unlike some of the Goodyear representatives I had just gotten off the phone with) It was 5:30pm & he informed me that it'd probably be best to just get all four tires changed rather than just the blown tire because the treading was HORRIBLE (which I kinda already knew) They close at 6pm & made sure I got my car by that time!! Sadly, what used to be a great location has gone down hill over the past year or so. Used to be that I would call in, order my tires, pay for them, make an appointment, get in and out in about 30 minutes when the tires came in. Last time I went in to have a flat repaired (easy repair) they told me 1- that my tread was low and pointed me to one of the signs in their lobby. I pointed out to them that my tires were low-profile, high performance tires that had tread that was below their 'danger' level when I purchased them new from Discount. . . looks like a tire professional would understand that different types of tires start with different tread depths? Then 2- That my tire couldn't be patched because the damage was in a location that made it unrepairable and I would need new tires (funny another tire store repaired no problem in about 5 minutes). Still, I have used this Discount location for 10 years and had always got fantastic service - the old managers knew me by name I bought so many tires. So, when we needed tires for my Wife's SUV I called, ordered the tires and made an appointment. My wife scheduled an hour (in her schedule). Even though she had an appointment her car wasn't even pulled in for over 45 minutes, then was in the bay for over an hour. Many walk-ins came and went while she waited. She went to check on status and they said - oh, there was this problem blah blah blah . . . she could see her car sitting in the parking lot not in the bay while she waits with an appointment. She can see her car sitting in the bay and no one working on it . . . do the employees here not even think before they tell a lie? Anyway, for ~10 years I would have given 5 stars, now tires are one more thing I will buy from Costco. read more

Usually discount tire takes great care of me. Today was a struggle. They quoted me 25-30 Minutes and I've been here an hour. I think they forgot about me because two people who got here after I did were in and out. Also everything was significantly more expensive then usual. I get that prices are going up but usually they have some kind of discount to buy four tires. Not this time or in the foreseeable future. I'm not as happy as I usually am with discount. read more

Usually I go to Big O Tires but today thought I'd try this place. Not impressed. I went back to Big O for their service and prompt attention + good price. I waited inside for service here, at Big O they come out and greet me. Discount tire lugged my flat tire inside to show me the tread and when I decided not to get tires there, I had to lug the tire back out to my car by myself. Shout out to Lindon Discount Tire!! In effort to save money, I put my son's old wheels and tires on the front of my suburban. When discount tire changed my son's wheels & tires, they took the sensors, too. So I was driving on wheels with no sensors. I didn't realize I would need the sensors off my old wheels and the cost for dismounting all 4 tires plus remounting the two tires onto my old wheels (with the sensors) was a lot more than I planned on spending. I had a tire that had a slow leak. They start off by taking 30 min to go look at the car when I can see people through the window hanging out. After that they come and tel em they don't know if they can work on the tire because it looked too bald. So they wanted to just look at it and try to get me to buy new tires? I told the guy I wasn't going to buy them on the spot and would shop around and wait till payday. They said ok they would look at it and see if they could patch it. They came back 20 min later after wheeling the wheel in the lobby to show me that the inside is bald but the outside is fine. They are directional tires so the inside will always bald first. And they refused to patch them. Would not go back. read more

I had a flat tire and took it in to be repaired at Discount tire since the tires were purchased there. I was told, after waiting almost an hour, that the tire couldn't be repaired because someone had used a repair kit for a 4-wheeler or something and that I needed to replace all 4 of my tires since I have an all- wheel drive. I said that the previous repair was done at a Discount Tire. He said it wasn't possible. I didn't believe what they were selling, so I took my car to Costco and they quickly repaired the tire for $10 (even though they were purchased at Discount Tire) with no problems or issues. I like Discount Tire, but I am continually at a loss as to the benefit of making an "appointment". I'm sitting at my 11:30 am appointment right now and it's almost noon and my vehicle hasn't moved from the parking lot. This happens every single time. Appointments at Discount are really a total joke. Screw it. I'm leaving as it seems this appointment is meaningless. I don't have all day to sit around and wait while my vehicle sits untouched. An acknowledgement from an employee that they won't be able to get to until 30 minutes late would be nice. If your time has no value and you don't mind sitting around waiting for them to get to you, and the facade of an appointment doesn't bother you, then they're great. Update. I called for a quote to mount and balance a tire. Was told it would be $19 and when I took my car in they said it would end up being $31!!. Apparently there are extra fees for mounting and dismounting the tire ?? Ending up taking it to big O where they actually charged me what they quoted me on the phone without adding any nonsense fees. read more

They lied to me. I had the left rear tire blow out while up the canyon. They told me the tire was irreparable, totally shredded, which I believed. I asked them to replace it with a used tire. They said I needed two new tires because my right rear tire was 8/32 and the only used tire they had was 10/32. And because my car, and Acura MDX, as all-wheel-drive the used tire needed to be within 1/32 difference. After saying I needed two new tires they said the front two tires were 3/32 which means they also needed to be replaced. I agreed to four new tires for a total of $634. I told my wife and she said the tires were only two years old. Granted, she had not regularly rotated them so we expected to wear pattern to be different. I question them again about the depth of the two front tires and they said it was 4/32. After the four new tires were on I asked third person to measure the tread depth, and he said the tires were 5/32. On the work order sheet the depth was measured at 3/32. So- I heard three different numbers for the front two tires. They recommend replacement at 3/32. My tires still had a good amount of life on them and they told me they didn't and up-sold me. Kinda pissed. I asked for all three tires and took them home. Next time I get a flat I'll have some more used ones to put in the mix. Don't let them get you like they got me. read more

I bought 4 tires in this chain store about 3 months ago. one of the tires has problem flat tire for 3 times. this last time I came they said it would take 1:30 to get ready, came back in two hours and told me I had to wait another hour and a half. moreover both the first and the second Sales personalite treated me very badly, the second was Chris ... I just expect to be treated with respect after changing four new tires, send more tua 1200 dollars and do not make me wait too long . He was courteous, knowledgeable and gave me tire quotes in my price range. He didn't try any bait and switch schemes or attempt to lure me into a deal with which I wasn't interested. So when I walked into the store, he remembered who I was, rang up my purchase, and got my tires installed quickly! It was that simple. And the price he quoted was the price I paid. I took my car in for a simple rotate and balance. I drop my car off and came back one hour later and they did nothing to the vehicle. In fact they hadn't even taken it in to get done. Then after they took the vehicle in... they claim that one of my tires was below the allowed measurement so they couldn't do I rotate and balance. They could've at least done it on the other three tires instead they try to upsell me new tires. I think that's their GIG because I took it to another tire company right after (les Olsen across the street) and they balanced and rotated my tires no problem! I would never take my car to discount tire as hell figure out a way to make more money off of you! If there was a zero starI would give him that for sure. read more

I have always had great service at other Discount Tire locations, but the Linden, UT shop is in need of better management practices. Very upsetting and unprofessional when just trying to get tires balanced, and this is the 2nd time going back in for this in the last few weeks. First time I went in to get tires balanced and and rotated. They rotated them, but said they couldn't balance them because there was some dirt on the wheels. The tires are not in great shape, and they then attempted to sell me new tires. I let them know that today wasn't a good day for new tires as I just need them balanced and rotated today, and I will come back in a few months for new tires. I am now coming back after washing the wheels to get them balanced with an appointment I made over the phone. Upon arrival they start trying to up-sale me on new tires again. I explain today I just need them balanced, and nothing else. 20+ minutes go by and they come back trying to up-sale me for new tires again. I once again explain that I just need them balanced today, nothing else! Another 20 minutes go by. My vehicle is in the bay, but I see a few employees just wandering around checking my tires again. I go over to see if there is an issue. They tell me that I should get new tires again. I explain that I just want them balanced. They tell me that they are not able to balance tires unless they are in good shape. Tires with lower tread can be balanced. I wasted my entire lunch hour today, and now I am having to go to another tire shop to have my tires balanced. read more

We needed new winter tires and my husband ended up here on Black Friday. He had done his research and knew what he wanted so it went quickly and he got an extra rebate. He booked an appt for a week later to bring in our SUV for 100 pm. We had a full schedule and hoped it wouldn't take long. However, that's when it went downhill. I showed up early in case that would help and my husband left work to come and get me. The customer service rep told me it would be ready by 200 because it would take 45 minute to an hour? I was surprised that changing tires would take that long. I also heard him on the phone telling someone they were fully booked but they could just drop in and get service that way? What? That doesn't make sense. We left. I could see the car and at 120 we went back. Was our car done, is that why it was in the parking lot? Nope, hadn't started. The 45 to an hour was giving them a window to do it "whenever". I explained that an appt booked a week ago for 100 usually means they start at one. We sat, my husband supervised which sped up the process a little. We met a lovely lady who had been waiting for a tire patch since 1145 and she had been in a few times before for other service. That's how they treat regulars? Needless to say the tires were done under my husband's watchful eye at 205 and they basically threw my keys to me and said take it so I drove it out of the garage and left because I was late. I'm not sure if we will go back if we have an issue with these tires. I didn't see any happy faces in that waiting room. read more

I bought tires from here and did regular tire rotations. At 20k miles, they insisted my tires were completely worn down, even though they were suppose to last 65k, so I bought new ones. Fast forward 15 months, and they again told me that i needed new tires even though I'd put less than 20k on it. By this point, i was skeptical and so I decided to take my car to another tire company for a second opinion. They confirmed what I already thought. These guys are the best. They truly want you to get the best deal for your money. They are patient and kind. They will answer all your questions and make sure things are done correctly. Chris is AWESOME he is great at explaining everything and presenting all the options then lets you decide. They even will fix your flats for free. He told me to pick a Discount Tire Store and they would replace all 4 of my tires. He said he would not make me go back to the Lindon Store. I feel bad that it had to come to this. All I wanted was a phone call and to get the proper tire on my car. I appreciate what he did for me and turning this around. He was very courteous and considerate to my problem. So thank you very much. When I went and had the tires put on the technicians and the manager at the West Jordan store were very kind and courteous also. I took my jeep to rotate my tires, I asked to rotate my spare. Before they finished, I noticed the spare tire wasn't rotated. So the guy took the spare and replace it with the left rear. I also noticed that one of the wheels was scratched. I like discount tires but I will never go the the one in Lindon. read more

Came in on Tuesday 8 Oct after phoning them as I drove by. Needed four 225/60R18s for my Chrysler 300. The car was up on the rack in five minutes. Realize this will not happen every time but John hooked me up. As a retired military member, Discount Tires knocked $40 off the price with a "Thank you for your service!" comment across the register. Their price beat Walmart, $405 for the tires and installation. I highly recommend this establishment to everyone, especially current and former military members. read more

Called and made an appointment at lunch time to rotate my tires. Got there 15 minutes early, as recommended on the their website. After 45 minutes and my car still sitting in the same spot in the parking lot, I asked the sales guy, what time does my 12:00 appointment start? I watched a construction truck pull up for an air check on all the tires on his pickup and trailer and they spent 30 minutes attending to him while I sat and waited. I mentioned to the sales guy, that they need to pay attention to their priorities. Scheduled appointments are first over some guy pulling up for air check. The look from the sales guy was like, oh well, you are next. I guess that is what you get when your cash in your free tire rotation. Big O here I come.
