I parked at the air check area to get my tires filled up at 3:07 pm and had so many workers look at me/ just walk by my car. Eventually, a car parked behind mine. A solid 20 minutes later I still hadn't been approached by a worker and I just drove off to a different Discount Tire and the literal second I started to drive off, a worker went up to the car that was behind me and began services. This was actually so infuriating and took time out of my day. I would've been better off paying $2 at a damn gas station. read more

Great Service! I recently had a nail removal done at your store at 6306 82nd in Lubbock, Texas. Collin was my service manager. He was very friendly and got my flat fixed quickly, but later in the evening, I noticed the tire was losing air again faster than before. I made an appointment for today. Collin met me at the door asking, what's wrong? I told him, and I told him I was supposed to be on the road. He immediately got me taken care of in less than 30 minutes. I'm very impressed. This review is for Discount Tire at 6306 82nd Street in Lubbock, Texas. I went in for a tire rotation and was told that the tread was too low for them to touch the tires. I know that the tires are older but have not been in a position to purchase new ones. I simply wanted to rotate them to help get the last bit of use out of them I could. The sales representative told me that they couldn't work on them, and I told him I wasn't asking for repair, I was asking for rotation. He then made some vague reference to "State Law". For inspections, maybe but I wasn't in there for an inspection. I finally requested clarification that they were refusing to perform a service that I was willing to pay for, at which time he told me that if I bought new tires from him the rotations would be free. I've been shopping in there for well over a decade and have outfitted four vehicles multiple times. Over the years I've seen my daughters hit with these sort of scams from this same store and I always chose to deal with it through the manager of the store. This time I'm done. I won't be back and I encourage everyone to watch out for these deceptive practices at this location. read more

This review is for the Discount Tire at 1912 West Loop 289. Back in February 2021, I had to get a new set of tires at the Discount Tire on 82nd because of a supposed recall on the top-of-the-line Michelins I'd purchased through them (funny they didn't actually notify anyone about the recall). They gave me a "rebate" but it still cost $500+. When I visited the 1912 West Loop location on 08/13/2022 for a low tire, they told me the nail hole they patched back in April 2022 was faulty and had ruined the tire - they'll replace FOR FREE! I should be so grateful! So then two young guys tried to pressure me - repeatedly - into replacing all 4 tires because I've put 20,000 miles on them. The tread was reading 7.5. The guy was like "Yeah, we recommend replacement around this time..." and kept saying I had 30,000 miles on them (in addition to misogyny, they're obvious math whizzes). I said, "So you guys ruined my tire with a faulty patch and now want me to give you $1000+ for 3 new tires??" They then tried to sell me just one new tire. I get the varying treads, blah, blah, blah, but boys - NO MEANS NO. I GUARANTEE if I had walked in there with a man, they would not have tried to pull this on me. It was ridiculous how hard they tried to sell me while insisting I knew nothing. I never had issues with Discount Tire in Fort Worth or Austin - only with Lubbock. They attempt to prey on females who they think have zero knowledge of cars or at least can be conned into extra purchases. Chad did a fantastic job of finding me some tires, and getting them here. Excellent work from Chad. Although I never received a call when my tires came in, I went to the store on a Thursday when Chad wasn't there to mount and balance my new wheels, and dismount my old wheels and tires. After everything was finished, the workers loaded my truck bed. The old wheels went into boxes, they claimed they put all 24 old lugs into a bag along with the new key to my new lugs and wheels, and then stacked the old tires on top. When I went to unload everything I noticed I was missing the old lugs and new locking key to my wheels. I looked everywhere. Searched the entire truck, boxes, took out all the old wheels and couldn't find them. I went back up to the store and a manager told me three of his guys swore up and down they put the lugs in a package in the boxes. First off, a bag of 24 lug nuts isn't going to be that hard to find. It weighs at least 5 plus lbs so it isn't going to just fly out of the back of a truck, especially inside a box, with tires stacked on top. I went back assuming maybe the workers just forgot to load the old lugs. My main problem is, I can't take my new wheels off with out the locking wheel key. I have never been to a discount tire with out them screwing something up. I should've known better than to go. I just let it go, I'm not going to argue with a manager about my $50 old lugs and a new key to my wheels. I will bet a $100 bill, one of the 18 year old workers making $10 an hour needed some lugs and snagged mine. I wouldn't put it past discount. read more

On Friday, June 29, 2018 I visited my local Discount Tire Store In Lubbock, Texas at 6306 82nd Street 79424. I had a 4:30 appointment and arrived at 4:05. The store was packed and incredibly busy. Employee Justin Fenter immediately greeted me and took absolutely wonderful care of me. I was purchasing four new tires for my farm trailer. There was an issue with the size of tire I needed being compatible with my wheel size. Justin immediately communicated with me and absolutely made the situation better. His advice was spot on and he made sure I was a happy customer. The entire staff went overboard to make EVERY customer in the store feel important and quickly took care of all. I observed the tire installers (ALL) actually running out to the parking lot to get the next vehicle in line in 100 degree heat! Justin Fenter and this entire store should be recognized for going above and beyond in ALL areas of customer service. I have used Discount Tire for many years and purchased numerous and thousands of dollars of new tires and wheels. When I need something there is absolutely no doubt that I will go to Discount Tire. The customer service, attitude, friendliness, quality and prices cannot be beat anywhere. This particular store in Lubbock should be a training ground for all your future employees as they absolutely are fantastic and understand how a business should be run. I have never not seen them put the customer first and do everything possible to make all leave with a smile!! 5 STARS and an A+++ for Justin Fenter and this Lubbock Store!!! I scheduled my appointment in the morning for the same afternoon. When I got there 5 minutes earlier, I've been politely asked to wait for the next available technician. It didn't take more than 2 minutes before someone talked to me about my car. All my issues have been resolved and I left the station within 20 minutes. I arrived around 10:00, the bay was reserved for me, the correct tires were pulled from inventory and waiting, and they even answered a few questions I had about the new tires compared to the old. I took my car to Discount on Jan3rd. I arrived at 5 with a low tire and asked for it to be fixed. After a wait, I was told that I could n't be repaired because the rim was causing the tire to leak. He advised me to replace the tire. I explained that I had tires at home to replace and he had my brought to the front. I asked if I was safe to get home and he said he didn't know. I am female, a senior citizen, and I after thinking on this all night, I wonder why they did not offer to put on the spare. Instead he just said, "hope you make it." They broke my wheel lock off in the tire and told us it was due to rust but all the other wheel locks aren't rusted. They were all put on at the same time which doesn't make sense. They basically handed us the car and the wheel lock key back and told us there's nothing they could do. I get it, when you're busy and you rush but it's messed up to break something and find no solution to it. You could've just tried to take out the whole wheel lock and told us you broke it. I've been going here and buying tires for over a year here and it's just disappointing for them to treat us like that. Now we are stuck with a messed up situation trying to pry this thing off, messing up our rims. So thanks discount tire for nothing. read more

Today I needed a single tired replaced. Two hours in, multiple people have come and gone. A single tire change is easy and faster then a full rotate and balance. Cars with customers not waiting are prioritized over people In the waiting room. It shouldn't take this long to get 1 tire replaced. I will not return to discount tire again. read more

This is a great tire shop, and the staff is awesome! I was in and out in 30 minutes, and they price matched a new set of Michelin Defenders for my Grand Caravan online! Not only did I save a little on the tires, but they fixed my TPMS sensor and got rid of that annoying yellow light on the dash. It's rare that you get a vehicle worked on, pay exactly what the estimate was, get everything done quickly, and I didn't have to wait with other customers that were complaining or upset. Went in to get a nail pulled out of a tire and get it patched showed the gentleman where the nail was clearly located. Waited 3 hours. Another guy comes out and tells me he couldn't find anything, so I point at the nail still sticking out of my tire and he says oh you are right I must have missed it. read more

My husband and I have been customers of Discount Tire for years and have always had a positive experience until my last visit. I had a slow leak in my tire and went in to have it checked and fixed. I was very displeased when I was told (without my tire ever being looked at) that I have run flat tires and would need to buy a new tire for $330!!!! First of all, my 2015 Challenger does not have run flat tires and anyone would know by reading the wall of the tire. Second of all, I know some of us women can be oblivious to some things but I will not be taken advantage of because I'm a woman. The only reason he finally took my car in and checked the tire was because I was persistent about it. Well after an hour of frustration, I had a small nail in my tire and it was repairable. I have always bounced around when it came to my tires because I was never able to find a company that was upfront and honest with me. The moment i walked into Discount Tire I was greeted immediately. I had a flat on my original tire and had to replace it with my spare. My spare had a slow leak as well. They told me that there would be a wait and gave me some options on what would be easier and convenient for my schedule. I was able to have someone come and get me so I left my car there. They also told me for future that I was able to make an appointment too. While fixing my tires they noticed my registration was out. I have three kiddos so it can be hard to get my list of errands done in a timely manner. They called and asked if they could help by taking it across the street to Christian Brothers Automotive to handle that while my car was in their care. I was so THANKFUL for that. They went out of their way to help a momma out. Not very many other businesses would do that. I am very pleased with this store and all of its employees. They are helpful and wonderful to work with. As for some of the other reviews complaining about wait time, there is an option to make an appointment. I would suggest it. The reason they have a wait time for walk ins is because they are good at their job. You wouldn't go to a restaurant or a hair salon that didn't have wait times would you? Because that would suggest that they aren't the absolute best. Keep that in mind the next time you are waiting. You are waiting for a reason. The job will be done right the first time! read more

Be very cautious when using any of their shops in Lubbock. I took a small trailer in to have the wheels balanced. They were busy and asked me to leave it. I unhooked and left it in their parking lot. They call a little while later and tell me it is ready. I go to pick it up and the chrome dust cover is missing from the wheel hub. The front counter employee asked the kid who did the balance job about it and he told him "it wasn't on there when we pulled it in". LOL, really? As it sat in the parking lot of their store, even though the cap was missing, there was no grease on the wheels or the tires as there would have been had the cap been missing as I was pulling it to the store to be worked on. It doesn't take a rocket scientists to know that the kid was lying through his teeth and that they lost it. Then, to add insult to injury, the counter person told me that "it could have come off a block from here and you would not have known it, but there isn't any sense in arguing with a customer"! Wow, you just DID argue with me by saying that I was wrong and it in fact was not there when it arrived. It's the details that make or break you. They failed MISERABLY! read more
