Changed out headlight bulb 4 times and charge $30 each time. Yesterday head Lube Tech, lied about what needed to be done to change the bulb and then said it would be $180. Front driver side tire kept losing air. Took it to get it repaired. They checked it and said they found no leak but went ahead and installed a new valve stem. Come to find out, they checked the rear driver side tire, and didn't put the chrome valve stem cap back on. Went back to get the correct tire repaired and get my chrome valve stem returned and was told they don't make appointments for the same day you come in. WHAT??? That is the craziest thing I've ever heard of. I will NEVER buy another set of tires from McWhorter.... NEVER EVER!! read more

The one positive I can say is that they got my vehicle in the same day. I needed a computer part replacement along with a recalibration. I opted to also have new plugs and wires done and an oil change. When I got my truck back it wasn't running as smoothly as it had, idled rough and when it came time for the next oil change I found that they didn't use the oil filter I had requested and paid for and had WAY over tightened it. Nearly $2k and zero of the repairs or service were done well. Had to pay my mechanic (i highly recommend M&M tire) to get everything right. read more

Needed an alignment in a hurry, and called to see if they could get me in. They said to come on down, and it wasn't long before they had it in and working on it. Tech was very knowledgeable and polite as he explained the work he needed to do. Cost was shown up front, and they stuck with that. Was in and out within about an hour. I have used McWhorter's on several occasions and always been impressed. Recently I was in to purchase new tires for my 3/4 ton truck. They worked hard to evaluate possible size options and get me the best tire for the money, saving hundreds of dollars on the set by widening the tire a little bit to get to a more readily available tire. They could have just gone with the size that was on there and made more money, but obviously they care about the customer and repeat business. On that note, I've had them repair flats on tires purchased elsewhere and they didn't charge. They also wouldn't even take tip money when offered for that service. I consider this place top-notch and will continue to use them from now on. read more

These guys seem pretty nice/ professional. They were quick to work on my tire repair and thst is why I gave two stars, otherwise I would have given one. The tech damaged my black wheel in several places. When they gave me the car back, there were pain chips/ flakes everywhere around the edge of the rim and damaged several areas of the wheel. I even showed him the long thin paint shavings that were still there. His response? Well, the wheel was damaged already anyway. Lol We all know that there would not be fresh paint chips from old damage. If you have painted wheels, do not take your vehicle to this place for anything you're related. read more

I will never ever go back I brought my car in because my tire had a slow leak I was there 45 minutes before they even took my car back. Then 10 minutes later then bring my car back and the guy tells me nothing is in my tire. I know he was laying because he never asked me for the lock on my tires . so I go to a different place down the road and then I am told I had a nail in my tire. I was in and out in 15 minutes. We blew a tire on our fifth wheel an hour or so outside of Lubbock. After a quick change to the spare, I called McWhorter to see if they had the type of tires we needed in stock. Cameron was very helpful! They had the tires in stock and I told him we'd be there in an hour and a half. Cameron told us they'd be ready when we go there. As soon as we pulled in, the new tires were being installed. The entire process was an hour, for a full set of tires on a fifth wheel! To say we are relieved and pleased is an understatement! Was just a slight detour on our way home from vacation. Would recommend!!! read more

I took the car to this location I had nail in tire. I was told the job would be about an hour to an hour and a half to get the tire repaired. After a period of time, I received a call that told me, the other front tire had a gash in the side wall. I return to the tire store, and sure enough there was a slit in the side wall. I had to replace that tire. Make a long story short, the car is finished and I started to drive it home. the air pressure alarm was still on, a call to the business resulted in 15 minutes of driving should reset the alarm? The two rims that we worked on we're dirty. They should've taken the time to clean them up. It's the little things that matter! Sad to give a one star review but some things just have to happen. Came here and was quoted an hour wait for changing one tire and getting my tires aligned. Two hours pass and they tell me my car is ready. Then they realized they forgot to align my tires. As they sent my car back I realized they changed the wrong tire. So in two hours they didn't do anything I needed and changed the wrong tire. Sad day for real. No one seems apologetic and I don't recommend using your money here read more

This place was great! We had been waiting for 4.5 hours on the Sears auto for a new tire and it was taking so long that we called the McWhorter Tire & Auto and they had the tire in stock and were willing to work on it immediately. We drove the car over and they had the new tire immediately sent to them (with a very short accidental detour at their other location) and then they got the tire on and it was fine! They were very nice and willing to help us which we really appreciated after having such a long wait. Would take my car here again. read more

Two weeks ago my Pastor and I where driving in separate vehicles from Hobbs to Lubbock to drop off a 2000 Ford Econoline Shuttle Bus at Maaco to get a paint job. While driving to Lubbock my Pastor experienced harsh vibration coming from the front end of Shuttle Bus. After some counsel we presumed the tires needed balancing & checked for flat spots so first we took it to Discount Tire. They rotated and balanced the tires, yet the problem still persisted. We wanted a second opinion so we then took it to McWhorter's, upon Maacos' suggestion. Upon arrival and talking with an employee they were promising to balance the tires and check for flats spots all for decent price as well as do a maintenance check for free. They said it would take two hours before they could get to it and they would test drive it after they balanced the tires. At this point the employee was kind with great customer service. After about an hour and thirty minutes we arrived back and noticed the Shuttle Bus was gone, so we presumed they had finished the balancing and were test driving it. When we got inside we were meet by the manager, Brian, after this the service was pathetic and unethical. Brian would proceed to tell us that he can not work on the rear of the Bus (it's a dually) because he does not have the right equipment, this is a lie as my Pastor has personally lifted the rear of this vehicle with a standard 3 ton jack. So, they basically decided to take it for a joy ride and waste gas after they specifically told us they would drive it after work was done. We have no idea how long they knew they "couldn't" fix it and they neglected to contact us. While this information is being relayed to us one employee around Brian was rolling his eyes and showing frustration, giving the impression that Brian simply did not want to do the job and was lying to us. We proceeded to ask Brian if he could at least check the front tires, he agreed. With the shuttle bus in the bay they would proceed to do nothing for thirty minutes. Several employee were on their phones and the shop was not busy during these thirty minutes. We finally had enough and left. Brian showed no empathy or showed that he even cared that we left, it would appear that Brian did not want to do the job and was purposed lying and wasting time so we would leave. So do not go to this shop if you have a Dually because they "don't" have the proper equipment to "work" on it and if your time is precious they will gladly and unapologetically waste it. read more
