Update to review (story below) corporate issued a refund that is supposed to arrive in a couple of weeks. Corporate is doing what they can to make it right. Came in for front end alignment. They messed with alignment on rear end and told me they could not align front end because it needs a "cradle adjustment" meaning something must be bent because the camber is out and I would have to take it to body or frame shop to get cradle adjusted, and still charged me $124 for an alignment. So I took it to Smith Auto in Slaton and had the guy there document all he finds with the alignment and print it out for me. I know the car had an alignment 5 weeks ago when I bought it from the dealership so the rear end should have not needed any adjustment, and the front end only needed it because we changed out the tie rod ends. Smith Auto found the rear was slightly out of alignment and that the camber was within factory specifications and did not need any adjustment. Then Smith Auto aligned front and rear and charged $99 for it and had me going. I went to pep boys manager and asked for a refund even though he argued and tried to find anything to blame it on or explain it away even though I had proof from a professional in my hands that pep boys messed up the alignment on the back end and that the cradle did not need any adjustment. I will continue to edit this post when I see my refund deposited in my account. read more

i wish this went as high as 10 star service! Leah was absolutely amazing! I came in as the check engine oil level light came on my vehicle. Leah checked it and it was low on the oil stock. She was concerned as I had just had taken my car elsewhere to have extensive work done and now the oil was 6 quarts low. Leah asked Manny if he could put the car on the lift . It was almost closing time and Manny did an oil change and found a leak. I highly recommend this place. Amazing customer service and I felt like I mattered instead of a number. read more

Needed an alternator and new battery before heading back to DFW. The mechanic was very nice but he didn't connect the alternator on one side. On way back to DFW car completely died as alternator flipped out and charging serpentine belt flew off. Had to wait 3 hours for a tow and cost $604 to repair. My DFW mechanic took pictures and said Pep Boys should pay it. The regional service director for pep boys will not contact me nor offer anything for the failed repair. Very upset they won't make it right. read more

If it's more then putting air in your tires don't go here. They don't care or know how to work on anything and when I asked to fix the stuff that they messed up on my car that wasn't the original issue. They destroyed some of it and just shrugged it off. The manger there you can tell is unhappy and I think that's because he's poor. So for that I do feel sympathetic to him for not being able to manage people or work on a car even though it's your profession. He multiple times told me the wrong issue with me car that was unrelated to it and would not refund me for the damages they caused to the car either. I pray that Doug I think the manager gets the help he needs as you could tell he was an addict of some kind because he was always shaking. There's no place for that in the workplace and I hope he's okay besides car issues! read more

They took my truck, which was "missing" in and told me twice it was fixed. I paid gem because they had not fixed it and they would not give me the truck if I did not pay. I had to take it to the Ford dealer, where they repaired it in one day. The dealer said there were old warn parts on the ignition system( which I could tell was the problem) when they fixed it. I contested the charge on my credit card and Pep Boys response was that when I took it in and what they were doing " may not fix the issue and this was made clear and he authorized the work to be done." This was not made clear and why would anyone authorize only work that "may not fix the issue"? I thought I was going in to have the truck fixed, not merely a starting point. I'll never be back and all of you should stay far away. read more

My person was Issac he was friendly and was quick. I came in for new tires in the front and also had a passenger rear tire that was unbalanced from another shop. He balanced my rear tire with no extra charge now my car rides smoothly. read more

Twice I've taken a vehicle here for some service... and twice they've checked it out and not charged me a dime! They fixed a flat for me for free once, and I thought I needed a brake service another time and they pulled all my wheels off and checked the brakes, then sent me on my way when everything checked out. They saved us! We had a blown tire on a Sunday on our road trip. The closest tire shop was a Firestone and they not only couldn't get us in until Monday but they didn't have the tire and said it would be hard to get. this is a review i should have written a few years ago but i never got around to it but when i just saw them recommended by people i decided to tell my story with them maybe it will help somebody else. i'm gonna try and keep it short as possible. chrysler 200 2012 i had had it about a year and it started not blowing cold air out this is in the middle of summer. i had extended warranty on the car and they had a list of places i could take my car, had never heard anything about them but knew where it was so i took it there. i can't remember all of the details but it was one screw up after another. they tell me it will be quick fix, first time i pick it up and drive off it runs with cold air about 5 miles then not only is it blowing hot it was overheating too. took it back. next time i pick it up they said they fixed something else i don't recall but as soon as we drive it away heard a loud pop scared me to death, take it bk, they said the belt was busted said it was old but they didn't know if i wanted to purchase a new one because it wasn't covered, i said u should have asked i would have said that's fine. anyway belt busted whatever part they put on had to wait to get part ordered still wasent working at the end they said they put a whole new 4 part ac in, charged the warranty co an arm and a leg not to mention i've been driving a rental car for a month out of my pocket. i end up taking it to a local mechanic my dad knows. he said first of all they didn't change all 4 parts of AC but that wasent the problem anyway....after all that it just needed a thermostat. he fixed it in an hour. i went straight to pep BOYS & told them to stick to breaks because they dang sure don't know anything about what was going on with my car but instead of being man enough to say that they didn't know they ripped off the warranty people, made me pay a lot of money to the car rental all for a simple fix. i would not ever give them a dollar of my money. they lie to cover theme selves and are some crooks if you ask me. read more

My wife and I have taken all of our cars here for two simple reasons 1) the price is way cheaper than where we live (Midland) 2) they have always shown me what's wrong with my vehicle before they do any work. On August 26, 2017 we took our car to get the brakes changed ; just as we were about to get out of the car Justin, one of the employees, said if y'all can wait until tomorrow we are have a sale on our brake jobs. That speaks volumes to me. They are putting the customer first and the dollar. We will continue to make the 4 round trip for that kind of service. read more

Do not trust these guys. I paid almost $400 for brake replacements only to have to take the car back, the nest day because there was significant drag when I applied the replacement brakes. The second crew indicated they must have missed something and assured me the second repair was done correctly; nope the drag continued and I had to have a friend of my to fix what they failed to do. Marcus did call and leave a message to try and fix but, two visits to fail to repair is too many. I'll NEVER use them again. read more

Absolutely not. I received a pamplet/flyer in the mail last fall (Fall '11) advertising a $19 oil change. Being the beginning of the semester and having just bought books, I decided to give it a shot. I walked in, told them I needed a $19 oil change, showed them my flyer, the big bossman type at the counter says "okay". He takes my coupon, asks me for my keys, and tells me it will be done "here soon". I'm slightly put off by his demeanor, but decide to go with it, and I sit down to wait. and wait and wait and wait and wait An hour later, I walk up to the counter and ask if he knows when my car will be done. He very curtly informs me that "there were people before you, be patient". Shocked, I tell him that I realize this, but "here soon" for a simple oil change does not mean an hour. He sticks his thumb out towards the work bay and says "Can't you see they're workin' on it?" I see my car there, but no one is anywhere near it. Now I'm really getting hot under my collar. I ended up waiting ANOTHER hour, I watch them drive my car out front, signifying that it's ready. I watch as the mechanic hands the keys to the bossman, and bossman waits about 10 minutes--no other customers up front, no phone calls to take, just him standing there at the computer, and finally, bossman decides to call my name. He then tells me that I owe them $27. I tell him about my coupon, and he tells me very rudely that it clearly says on the coupon that there are disposal fees for old oil and that there are "these things called taxes". Clenching my teeth, I paid the $27, and vowed never to go back. Pay a little more and go anywhere else. read more

Don't ever go here I went to get my front rotors resurfaced and new pads done on my 2013 Silverado and they gave me faulty pads. Then I went back to get some more and then they checked my drums because they were squeaking and wanted to charge me $800 to fix them because the solenoid in the drum was leaking. They said that the shoes and drums needed to be replaced. Come to find out they never resurfaced my rotors and they gave me low grade pads which dug into my rotors. I had to redo the whole front somewhere else. They tried to screw me on the drums, first off when they put them on they didn't put them on very good. I had done 3 brake inspections all over town and nobody said they were bad, But they still had over 4 months of life left on my truck. read more

Some jerkanoid put me in a field on an icy day whilst I'm driving to work. I ended up going here for car realignment. Thinking "How will they try and take advantage of single female?". Surprised me when they didn't. The staff was helpful, friendly, showed me exactly what they were doing, what they found, etc. I'm going back whenever I need car maintenance they can perform. read more

i called the pep boys located on springfield road in bromall pa tonight on short ntice to see if they had brakes for my car and to see how long the wait would for service. the manager that answered the phone was prompted and assured me that he had the parts and saved them for when i arrived. the manager was able to assist me with both brakes and rotors and went above and beyond to make sure i was out of there in a reasonable amount of time. i was certain that once he said i needed both brakes and rotors that i would have to leave the car for the night there since it was right before closing. i was able to get the necessary work done on my car after work by the team there without having to take time off and spend the whole day there waiting in line. they saved me big time and were very affordable with the price they charged. i would definitely recommend going there matthew meyers and his team looked after me read more

You know the feeling when you feel taken advantage of. That's how i felt when I left. Two months ago went in for brake work. Invoice was well over 300 dollars and car drives worse that before I went there. I sat there watching the so called technicians and just didn't feel good about the situation. They showed me what was wrong but I don't know anything automotive. The more I see the bad reviews the more I am convinced this place scammed me. I work at a local tv station and will try to send an undercover reporter to investigate practices. If you employees that work there see this, I hope you don't get caught doing something wrong there. read more

I would be very careful going to Just Brakes. We took my son's car there to get front brakes. The add said $99 brakes and on the phone I was quoted $107 out the door for the brakes. My husband took the car in and they came back with an estimate of over $1400! They tried to tell us all of this stuff needed to be done. They told us all 4 calipers were bad. My husband told them never mind put the car back together. They tried to tell him they couldn't do that without fixing it which my husband said absolutely not! After a $32 charge for going over the whole car which we didn't ask them to do, we got out of there. And by the way, the calipers ended up being just fine. We won't be going back. read more

Do not trust these guys, I have been going to pep boys at a different location in North Carolina and never had a problem. I took my car to this location and asked for an oil change and just an all around check up because I was hearing noises going over big bumps sounding like a problem with my suspension. They told me it would take 45 min about (all they were doing is oils change and checking suspension) I leave and an hour later come back they say that it should be about 30 more min... so I stay there and wait then when I start too look around at the car after an hour has gone by my car got out back up on the lift for some reason. The guy then said five more min and then took another 30 min!!! I waited a total of 4 hours for pretty much an oil change.... to top it off they claimed that my front struts (suspension) were shot and needed to pay over a thousand dollars to repair it. I got a very bad vibe from them and for some reason didn't trust them so I took it and got a second opinion. I went to Scott's car repair which had good reviews and asked if they could check suspension, we test drove the car and everything and they genuinely cared, after all of that they lifted my car up and said that my car was perfectly fine and looked almost in perfect condition. Thank god for the second opinion because sometimes when men see a college girl come in with her car they see an opportunity to take advantage and I believe that's what they did. I would not recommend them to anyone after this experience. read more
