The weirdest thing happen to my car when I arrived and parked in their lot, my car decided not to start. Discount Tire saved the day today! I went through the car wash and left with a huge nail in my tire. I called a local tire shop who quoted me $20-$30 to plug my tire. I then called Discount Tire to check pricing there and to my relief, the tire plug service is free at D.T. Discount Tires had me in and out in less than an hour without needing an appointment. The staff were friendly, prompt, professional and took time to explain my options as far as repair or replacement. They didn' try to upsell any tires or force me to spend unnecessary money. One of my tires kept going down, needed to find out why. I had purchased my tires at the store on 95th St. Made an appointment and was serviced on time. They identified a problem with the valve and replaced it, however they also found a "bubble" in the sidewall of one of the other tires (?!?) and said it needed replacing. it cost me $56 under the warranty but better than $250. I have found them to be polite, professional, and if you make an appointment and get in early you'll get out fast. read more

I have been a customer of this store for 20 years. Service and prices have always been fairly consistent. However, the last couple of times I have come in for a scheduled tire rotation and balance, it took over an hour. Most recently, I had a 2:00 appointment and promised it would be done by 3:20. Seemed long but when you dedicate time for this service I didn't feel I had any choice. At 3:20, the car still hadn't move from the parking lot. Talked to the sales person they said it's going in next. Had the job done 15 minutes later. The manager pulled me aside and apologized. Hassle free. I had a dead TPMS (Total Piece of Mother####### Sh## in case you didn't know what the acronym meant) sensor. Finally got sick of looking at the idiot light on my dash and made an appointment. I showed up on time and they came right out to the lot and scanned the sensors, found the bad one. Terrible service! Appointment scheduled at 0930 but had to wait 15 minutes for someone to tend to the front desk. At 1500, no text or call received that vehicle was ready. Phoned them three times, but they do not pick up their phone. They close at 1700! We drive there to find the car parked with unlocked doors! WOW. Ordered 4 new tires. Two tires had the same valve caps, a third tire had a different type of valve and the fourth was missing the valve. That is what $1,874 got me at Discount Tire. As for tire pressures, fronts were 16 psi greater than specified on door panel and 12 psi greater than the rear tires. Simply ridiculous. Used Discount Tire for nearly 40-years. Extremely. slow. Had an appointment for 12:30. Car wasn't brought into shop until 2:30. Finished at 3. When I asked why it was taking so long, (was quoted to be an hour long appointment), they said they never checked me in (forgot, Luis fault). They claimed I was a walk in even though I had an appointment. then proceeded to not believe me when I stated I had an appointment until I pulled out two receipts showing I did. I've actually been here before once or twice and had great service. Today, I was having a bad day . It's my last of work. I had a tire with really low air pressure as soon as I got in my car. I immediately came to this location since I worked in the next town over. The line wasn't too long. The employee did his run through after I told him my issue with my tire. There was an hour and a half estimated wait I was forewarned about which didn't bug me so I hung out in the lobby. They have complimentary coffee as well as bottled water. If you don't like any of that there's stores near by in the vicinity. They texted me when my car was done. A service man came out and told me what they found. Guess a screw got in my tire really good. They replaced the stem, patched the tire inside and out and made sure it was balanced for me after reassembling the tire back on. All that stuff they did to go the extra mile was really great of them and eased my stresses away and I was back on the road again. Thanks again Discount Tire! You guys came in clutch. The tires on my pickup were getting a bit worn and I thought I could put on a new set and get a much better trade-in value - and that is how it worked out. Shopped around on-line and found Discount Tire offered the same tires at a reasonable replacement price. They have a handy Website: it explains all the pricing, prices are shown out-the-door, the pricing you get when you show up at the store is the same as the Website quote, inventory availability is shown so you know if they have them in stock, and any choices you might have to upgrade are listed ... all great marks of an on-line presence. Liked my experience at this place a lot. When you show up they either come out and greet you before you hit the door, or do so once you enter. Their staff was really excellent. Once you make arrangements for tires, they seem to work in two-man teams across their four open bays. One guy works around the car and removes the wheels and takes off the old rubber and resets the new tire ... while the other fella does the spin balancing and remounts the wheel/tire on the vehicle. Nice and efficient. I came on a rainy day so the business wasn't backed up. I was in and out in 30 minutes flat. I worked with Andres and he was perfect. Knowledgeable and friendly. I came in knowing prices from the Website, but he still took the time to show me alternatives. I stayed with what I had in mind and it was a easy transaction. I just recently took my vehicle here to have a new set of tires put on. I was wondering why my vehicle was riding so rough especially after just getting brand new tires. I ended up discovering they did not properly secure my tires to my vehicle. I had all 20 lug nuts before I dropped it off and they returned it to me with only 15 lug nuts. Each tire is missing a lug nut and my front driver side was missing 2 lug nuts, and they decided to replace 1 of the missing lug nuts with just 1 plain nut bolt. I am completely baffled at how they thought it was perfectly fine to contact me to pick up my vehicle and drive it off their lot with my tires not securely attached to my vehicle. They just placed my life in danger. I will never be going here ever again because they clearly did not value me as a customer nor did they value my life. read more

Got there 10 minutes in advance & the parking lot was full. Informed them I made an appointment and was told it was first come first serve & I had to wait. No communication on why or how long. If that's the case, don't make reservations. If you're behind, call those appointments and cancel or ask them to reschedule. Not worth the discount. Got my tires a year ago after going with their recommendation over the tires I wanted and they do NOT perform well in rain or snow as I specified I needed. Today, I take my vehicle in for tire rotation & balance and I get my car back with tire pressures at 27 when they should be at 33. When I called to ask why my tire pressure was left unchecked I was told by the rep that he didn't know. Was a little disappointed after taking my car in to have the tires inspected. Looks like I bent my wheel and the worker tried to sell me a whole new set of wheels. (I ended up buying them, but I'm regretting my decision now). When I left the discount tire, I was a bit annoyed of how they loaded my old wheels in the back seat. I had a couple items in my back seat (a shower rod that I was planning to return and a Tupperware with fruit). Instead of moving those items to the floor or the front seat, the workers just stacked the wheels on top of my stuff. The shower rod was a little damaged and I was luckily able to return it, but come on... it would have taken them 5 secs to relocate the items instead of just putting the boxes on the items that were already on the seat. Anyways, all 4 wheels were replaced and I was still experiencing shaking in my steering wheel at speeds 50-65mph. I decided to take it to the discount tire in Oak Forest since I pass it everyday driving home from work. I explained to the employee what was going on and they told me to have a seat while they inspected my car. They came back and told me that when the guys from the other discount tire replaced my wheels, they didn't put on some hub assemblies and also my wheels were not balanced. WTH.... needless to say, they rebalanced my wheels and put in hub assembly and now the shaking problem in my steering wheel has been resolved. So disappointed that this happened at this location! I hope that they train their employees better because this is unacceptable. read more
