I went in to get a set of 4 new tires. They actually had the tire size I needed. I was a walk-in because they said no appointment needed (they do have them available ), but there was a couple of people ahead of me. Took longer than the estimated time given. Also, tires were a little loose, had to tighten myself. Overall, not bad. Next time I'll be making an appointment and expect to wait longer than the estimated time. read more

Like all the other locations, the staff are always friendly and professional. I came in to get one of my tires patched since I ran over a nail, and to have them rotated. It's super convenient to set up an appointment online (same day too), and they usually run on schedule. Excellent customer service and the tires I wanted at a fair price. Sorry Les Schwab but I saved about $800 by going to Discount Tire in Salem. Even Costco was not equipped to change 6 tires on our RV. I ordered the tires on-line, booked an appointment and Discount Tire called a couple days ahead to confirm the tires had arrived. No sweat. Showed up on time, had the tires installed and payed the bill to the exact penny they advertised. A couple lug nut covers were bent in the process but they were replaced free of charge and with no questions asked. I couldn't be more pleased. read more

Didnt know much if anything about discount tire, found them on Michelin web site. Dont know what my expectations were, but they sure exceeded them. Priced better then costco, and others that carry this brand. Had them in stock, installed without appointment, in a very clean and professional shop. Worse customer service!! My wife called the store to confirm that the size of the tired for her 2014 Hyundai Tucson was gonna be available to purchase and available the same day. !because she was driving with a spare tire !! She was told by Armado , has he said his name over the phone I'm assuming is his name that the tire would be have billable the same day we drove an hour to the shop as we got there they told us that the tire was not available and I would take a week to get it there. We were very disappointed with a store in the lies they told my wife. No additional help was provided and they tell us to come back in a week. What type of customer service this store has in place? If you asked me 3 months ago, I would have given these folks a 5 STAR rating. YOU MAY ASK, WHAT CHANGED your mind? On 6/14/2013, America Tires DAMAGED MY CAR, my baby! They damaged my 2008 Saturn Sky Red Line by putting her on the rack incorrectly. Both sections under the front wheel well are cracked and requires full replacement (lucky GM still have a few left in stock). The only way to cause this type of damage is by putting the car on the rack incorrectly, where the weight of the car is sitting on the fender wells instead of the carriage! The cost to repair her is between $1900 to $2200, depending on repair shop. I can pay for it...that's not the problem, it is the principal. It is business law 101! Their management treated us as if we were dishonest, fraudulent people. I have purchased from America's Tire Stores 7 sets of tires and a set of wheels in the last 4 yrs...and seriously, they are going to tell me we are trying to screw them over, saying one side looks newer than the other and only willing to pay 50% of the damage, and was probably damaged from the road. FIRST if they believed it was caused by the road, why would they even offer to pay for a portion of it? Second, there are no scratches from the road, nor is she driven much.. I drive my car, maybe once a month if the weather is good! And, I work from home 99.9% of the time! They have lost a loyal customer! read more

I called ahead of time to get info on their hours and availability to swap out my wheels for a set that I got online and had delivered. I could only make it down after I got off work. I spoke with Jake who told me they closed at 6 pm and that even if I had shown up at 5:59pm they would still accept me. I was very pleased. When I got there they got my car into the bay and started working on my change over right away but found that I did not take into account that the new wheels take special lugnuts. I did not factor that into my financial equation. I think Jake could tell I was worried about the extra cost of the lugnuts. He offered to discount them for me which really made my day. He patiently answered all of my questions about my TPMS sensors and how they really worked, even after he knew they were supposed to be closed then. I thanked them all for staying late to work on my car. It was not a necessity and I was willing to come back the next day but they insisted on getting it done for me right then! I will reward this kind of service with continued business. I will need a new set of tires at the end of summer and I will definitely be going there for them!! read more

I wanted to say how incredible Riley J Breckenridge at your store in Salem, Oregon. My wife and I came in an hour before close tonight as we just noticed my rear tire going flat. Riley was right on it to help us look at the tire and help us figure ways to get back on the road safe. Unfortunately due to some tread problems on that tire it was beyond repair and had to be replaced. At this time I didn't want to replace it as I was planning on waiting for a bonus to arrive at work here in a few weeks before I replace them. Riley was quick to check on used tires and found one in the back and offered to put it on for me at no charge. Upon bringing my car back out for me the tech noticed my TPMS light was on and I explained that I thought my sensors were dead as I couldn't get them to reset using my vehicles instructions. He insisted that I let him take a look and he grabbed his machine and within a matter of two minutes he had all my TPMS sensors reset and my light off of my dash. I am still needing to wait for a little bit but I will be for sure coming back to this location when I need to get my tires and possible wheels that I am wanting as well. Went into discount last weekend to get my tires patched. Two for my ranger and one on my f150. I went into the store at 8:30 trying to avoid a long wait. Jorden was helping me and he said it would take one hour and forty five minutes. I told him that was to long and I'll take my business else where and I turned around and walked out. When I got in my truck, Jordan had followed me to my truck. He said he could get in done in a hour, I explained to him I was here before to get some tires installed and the guy told me it would be an hour and a half, and it took two and a half hours, Jordan assured me it would take an hour. I went for a walk and received a call at one hour, saying my truck was done. When I got to the shop, I went straight to the assistant manager and took him outside and told him what a good employee Jordan was and with this service, it earned my respect and a loyal customer, I shook his hand got in my truck and got in my truck and went home, when I arrived home I grabbed the two tires for my ranger and put them on. Later while walking by my f150, I noticed they had installed a brand new tire on my truck!, they didn't say one word about it, they didn't charge me one cent for it either!! Discount Tire company is head and shoulder above any tire company out their! They are very fortunate to employee such a outstanding person as Jordan, I hope he goes far with the company!! In a market place of competition it is always easy to change your options. Exactly what I'll be doing after bringing all my auto repair needs and tire work for two plus years to this location, and my wife's and three adult children's vehicles, as of Saturday. Spending thousands at a location like this Firestone, with young and immature management, ends up producing zero loyalty to the customer. I needed a back axle brake job on my vehicle, I was quoted $383! I then found out a competitor (as I left) my vehicle who would do the exact same job with the exact same warranty, on parts and labor for $250! I protested the disrespectful (see previous sentences) price gouching and mistakenly thought they might reduce the costs, which the manafer had zero interest in doing, and told them to stop the job. They (the manager) could have cared less and so could my 4 vehicles as of Saturday. They simply cannot compete with local competition whom will now be getting my thousands in repairs and tire/brake products $$ and loyalty from this time forward. I will say and will say to those above the local management that Kevin is an outstanding customer service individual at this location and I do thank him for his efforts under clueless management. read more

I got my lug nuts cross threaded and several months later found out. Had to have my entire axle replaced it was so bad. Then come to find out one of the four tires I bought over a year previous was smaller then the rest. Then my replacement tire comes in and its the wrong size! They use to be a good place to go. After Buying tires from American Tires for my wife's car. She had experienced good service with tire rotations as needed.... 2 days ago July 16, 2013 My wife called me at work from the Lancaster Dr Walmart parking lot, explaining she discovered a low tire with a nail in it. I called American Tire, 1890 Lancaster Dr, (Salem location) and spoke to the assistant manager, and asked if my wife could bring her car in for the repair? After arriving. The assistant manager, looked at the tire and said it was unrepairable, didn't offer to put on her spare. "She left the store with the nail and low tire, stopped at Les Schwabs 3030 River Rd. Keizer. "They fixed her tire for "Free. I then called the American Tire owner manager and explained what happened. All he had was excuses and he didn't even see the tire! I have ordered a few sets of tires through this office and it has been overall not bad. However, I just had them put a brand new set of tires on my wife's car right before all the snow and ice happened. I knew it was coming and wanted to make sure she had brand new tires on her car so she would be safe. They had to order the tires I wanted. The first issue happened when the rear tires came in late, causing me to wait an extra week to get them installed after the fronts were. I finally got the call and had the rear tires installed. To my surprise, when I got home the tire monitor was going off! The front driver tire was already nearly completely flat... brand new tire. I filled it up and went back. Thankfully they fixed it right away, they had forgot to tighten the valve stem. The next day my wife comes out and THE REAR TIRE IS NOW FLAT! This time I was gone and she couldn't air it up herself. Caused her to miss work. I took the tire off to take it down and what did I realize? They had put a tire on that didn't even match the other 4 tires. This was getting ridiculous, not only had 2 tires gone flat, but one didn't even match the others. When I complained, they informed me that they had to once again ORDER the rear tire. It has taken me 5 trips to get a full set of tires that hold air and match. Totally unacceptable! Yes they may be cheaper, but when you factor in that I had to make 5 trips to get one set of tires put on... That kind of eats up the savings of going anywhere else. read more
