I am so happy that this Les Schwab is now offering oil changes. Back in the day, we had a local mechanic at a local garage who we relied upon to keep our cars running well. Les Schwab is almost there as far as granting me the "feeling" that I am important and my safety is important. Friendly and efficient, with a large and comfortable waiting room, and no upselling. I schedule first thing in the morning so we are in and out in no time. Life is hard and I am grateful for this company who makes my life a little bit easier. read more

I've never had a bad experience at Les Schwab. The staff are always quite friendly and incredibly helpful. I simply came in for snow chains, and the gentleman that helped me was very efficient and was able to look up quickly. Found a wood screw in one of my fiancee's tires and needed a quick fix since I'm from the Los Angeles area and not sticking around a while. Back home, the closest Les Schwab is at least 30 minutes away, so I've never payed much attention to the company. I came here on the advice of my fiancee's roommate who'd previously had a good experience here. I checked appointment times online; nothing available for a few days. However, the site said they do take walk-ins, so I gave a call, and Vanessa(?) said to just bring the car right in. So we park and are quickly greeted by an employee who gets us checked in. Maybe 20 minutes later, the tire is fixed at no charge and there is no upselling. This never happens in California. I was in awe. read more

so this review is SOLELY because of Brady the technician. only because of him. I hate yelp. got a new tire. my car was stranded. He seems like a good dude and he helped me out. I bought a new rim because mine got bent, as I wanted to play it safe. it was salt in the wound on top of having to buy a whole new tire because of a side wall separation. He made the experience a lot easier and was communicative and super honest. you don't see character like that in a lot of people. it's hard to do so when jobs crush your soul and disincentivize integrity. I hope management take care of him. my buddy is an alignment tech, he's seen shitty techs. companies need to hold on to the good ones. without good workers there is no company. he lived up to the le Schwab motto, not management lol. thanks again dude. read more

Went there because my battery kept dying. I asked them to test the battery and alternator. They had it an hour. They then called with the battery price of 250$ for a Toyota battery. I asked if they tested it or the alternator. they said it was too dead to test the alternator. so I a asked if the jumped it or had a shop battery to test it. they said the car had to be off to test it.. That was weird. so my step dad came with me to get the truck. tightened the connections that were loose and truck hasn't been a problem since. I took it to battery xchange. they confirmed that the battery and alternator were fine. so no I don't recommend les schwab they tried to rip me off read more

Came in for an alignment. It was very clean and organized in there, the waiting area was quite large. Complimentary drinks and popcorn while waiting too. Staff was very polite and I was in and out of there in less than an hour. I couldn't be happier with the work done to my truck, rides like a dream! Great quality work as far as alignments. Les Schwab is my go-to for any auto-related services I might need, since 1992. I just put new tires on our 2015 and 2016 Honda CR-Vs, both vehicles have Les Schwab batteries, and before I travel any distance, I take advantage of Les Schwab's free vehicle check up. Every October, I buy chains, to have them in the car (and the peace-of-mind), and every April, I sell them back to Les Schwab (thankfully, haven't needed them yet!). They have fixed every flat tire I have had since 1992 for free. I find their customer service top-notch, always fast, friendly and courteous. I really have no complaints. I came in to Les Schwab last weekend to have my breaks checked. They recommended to have my front two tires replaced. After the tires were replaced, they said they took the car on a test drive and that it was good to go. I left the building and was hearing a grinding noise after I would press the break pedal. I took the car back and waited for 45 minutes to be told that a metal piece was grinding against my rotor. Clearly there was no test drive and they admitted that they didn't take one. I was hoping to get my breaks checked, but instead I now have a damaged rotor. I plan to have my car serviced somewhere else in the future. read more

Jesse was able to help him find 6 tires and wheels to replace the old ones (not taking a chance on another blowout with 500 miles to go) and was able to install them with the boat on the trailer in about an hour. So friendly! I came in to buy some chains (no appointment needed) and the woman that helped us was extremely helpful. We didn't know the size of our tires and she came outside (while it was raining!) to check them for us. Mixed bag. Brought my 2021 Forester in for an issue with the left rear tire on Friday November 11th. They got it fixed but then 2 days later I realized that my rim was scratched up. I keep my car in amazing condition. I went to them and they told me there was mo way they could have done it. It is clear the damaged happened while the tire was off the car. All the other rims are perfect. They told me they looked at the video and they see nothing the tech could have done. They offered to attempt the same service in a different tire to see if it was their equipment. I don't want to chance another damaged rim. I will avoid them like the plague and go back to Discount or Costco going forward if they won't take care of the damages they caused to my car. read more

They were super nice, super fast and even hooked me up with a new spare tire super cheap because the spare that came with it was sketchy! My battery died and I was trying to leave work on my Friday. I called Les Schwab .6 miles away and he came and jumped my car. It was indeed dead. I followed him back to the shop and he gave me an estimate right away and installed it in less than 15 min and I was on my way home. What could have turned into me walking home and leaving my car and it maybe have been towed, turned out to be a blessing. I could have be in the wood when my battery died. Turns out it was from 2015. Store 211. I just want to give some major appreciation and thanks to Les Schwab and this store. I am from Eugene, OR and had a job in Portland on Friday 10/04/24. I always leave early because I hate being late and also you never know whats going to happen in route to the job. Well Friday that thing happened on my way to Portland, I was on the I5 freeway near Salem when all the sudden my tire pressure sensor came on my dashboard telling me my front right tire was low on pressure. Unfortunately I was getting a flat tire as I watched the pressure slowly drop. I was able to map directions to the closest Les Schwab store and was able to drive to the store without any problems. Unfortunately Les Shwab doesn't open until 8AM and I pulled in at 7:20 AM. I have changed many tires myself but not often so in the parking lot of the store I set out to do just that. The equipment that comes standard in cars/trucks might as well be plastic and I was having a hard time with the jack. I thought to myself, I'm at Les Schwab there has to be someone here that could help at least jack up my truck, even though the store is not open. I went around back and flagged and employee down on a fork lift and told him my situation. He advised me to go through the back door and ask for a certain person (cant remember his name). I explained my situation and without hesitation he told me to pull around front and they would open a bay door for me. I was thinking all I needed was for them to put on my spare which appeared to be too large for the tires I have on my truck. When I asked if I would be able to make it on my spare the employee said, without hesitation, you don't need your spare we'll fix your tire. I was kind of shocked as this was 30 min before opening. I put my spare tire back in its place and within 20 min the tire was fixed and I was back on the road. I just want to say how thankful I am and how much I appreciate your team at this store and across Les Schwab as I have been a customer for a long time and now for life. After being a loyal customer for the last 35 years, I've lost faith in Les Schwab. I took my Subaru in to the South Salem store for new tires. While there, I asked them to check out a noise coming from the front left wheel when making a sharp left turn. It was a clunking noise. When they finished the tires, they said they couldn't reproduce the sound. I reproduced it driving out of their parking lot so apparently they didn't try very hard to check it out. A month later, I took a sharp left turn to turn around after going down a wrong street and the left front axle just exploded. Ball bearings and metal scraps all over the ground. After getting towed to Capital Subaru, a new left front axle and $850 later, I will be buying tires elsewhere from now on. Luckily, I wasn't on the freeway driving when it happened! read more

So it generally takes a bit of gross negligence for me to take to Yelp on a tire shop. And I think that there are probably plenty of good Les Schwabs that take more care regarding the quality of work. BUT, this is not one of those locations. Came in to have airbags installed on a brand new 2020 truck. The first thing that should have been concerning is that it took them 4 hours to install airbags. I have installed them myself historically and it's an 1 1/2 job typically without all of the fancy lifts and tools. Was told the bags were filled with 40 lbs of pressure. Two weeks later checked the air pressure and they are empty. Hook up the air compressor and pump some air in them. They start pissing air. Got under the rig to check the problem. They didn't make sure the compression fitting on the top of the bags were seated properly to avoid leaking. The whole principle of the product is to hold air. Don't let the name brand recognition fool you. If you are a faithful les Schwab customer take your business down the road to the next one. P.S. my favorite part of this location is watching its employees congregating in the back of the shop bullshiting with a shop full of rigs not getting serviced, after the manager says they will get your rig right in to fix it. It makes you feel like your business is really important. read more

My review pertains only to replacing calipers on disc brakes. Schwab uses calipers rebuilt offshore, I think, and the rebuilders do not rebush the guide pin holes that keep the disc pads perpendicular to the disc. Consequently, the pads will cant and then jam in the brake on position. Schwab replaced one seized caliper under warranty, no backtalk, job done expeditiously. After the warranty had expired a disc piston seal blew and I began to lose my brakes in Portland traffic. I had my Honda towed to the dealership and have gone with factory new calipers ever since. For tires and tire repairs, the performance of this company may be satisfactory. Primarily because of brand preference, I go elsewhere. read more

This is for overall service. If I could grade just Craig he'd be 5 star. It was a quick stop for tire pressure change due to weather change and no one could help me, I pulled up and that commercialized cheery greeting and running to my car did not exist. Once I got out of the car at the bay and shouted over the work to have someone hear me, no one responded still. Instead they were talking about getting laid loud and proud for everyone to hear. This was after speaking to someone inside to make sure they had the time to help me. The up side: The one woman running the front desk was prompt and efficient. She also seemed to have to keep the men in line. Craig was amazing, efficient and thorough when he heard me, fixed the pressure and let me know how my tires were over all and that i didn't need any other work or rotation etc at all, which I appreciated. Unfortunately two fantastic workers don't make up for all the slow and careless ones. This was also the 3rd time I've had a horrible experience at this branch but I was in a hurry and it was closest so I gave them one more try, if they had more workers like the 2 good ones I'd definitely return. I had a slow leak in the front right tire on my 981 Cayman S, on which I had just had new tires installed at a specialty shop up in Portland the week before (Michelin Pilot Sport 4s). I brought the car in at 7:55am on New Years Eve day and was back on the road by 8:30. They removed the wheel and used water to determine that the leak was from a poor bead with the wheel. The tech applied some bead sealer and re-seated it and that solved the issue. The cost? $0. Even though I didn't buy the tires from them, nor have them install them. That's just remarkable customer service in every regard. Also, contrary to other reviews on here, they didn't try to upsell me on anything. Would highly recommend. read more

I have had nothing but a hard time dealing with these guys, the major issue seems to be Rod (the manager?) he is a "NO" man - can you get these wheels? NO. Can you get these tires? NO. Do they make these wheels to fit my car? NO. Can you come help me with a roadside flat? NO. (this flat happened to be 1.5 miles from the store too, and Rod told me flat out NO) Also - I needed a battery for one of our cars so I loaded it into my (pregnant at the time) wife's car so she could run by Les Schwab and pick up a new one, I did this knowing that they would unload and load the batteries for her... Nope, after asking for help and waiting in the parking lot for 15 minutes she dragged the battery up to the front door only to have one of the large male employees open the door for her.. NOT offer to carry the 50 + lb battery for the obviously pregnant young lady - nope, just propped the door open for her. So, I moved my account to the West Salem Les Schwab and couldn't be happier. I purchased my "top of the line" tires in November 2018 for my Altima and in August one of my rear tires went flat. I took it to Les Schwab and they replaced the tire free of charge as it was not repairable. Great customer service and road hazard warranty. They also have done my brakes on two vehicles and I have been totally satisfied. The staff are always professional and friendly and I will continue to use this shop for all my automotive needs. read more
