Good for tires, but beyond that beware. And, don't trust that the person that schedules your appointment over the phone has any clue about what their shop is actually capable of. I booked a diesel fuel filter change and trailer plug wiring. I booked it at the beginning of the week for a Thursday 11am appointment. I was told it would take a few hours. I had a trip that I had planned with a Friday departure and would need to pull a trailer. I dropped the truck off at 9am on Thursday thinking getting it there early might help. At 3pm I called to check on how it was going. I was told that the work hadn't been completed but they would do their best to have it done by their close at 5pm. At 4pm I drove by and the truck was still sitting where I dropped it off. It was obvious that I'd have to triage the situation with only 1 hour left in the day so I told them to prioritize the plug wiring... they said ok. At 4:30pm, I see they have the truck in the bay, but they are working under the hood. So, I say, I really wanted you guys to priorities the trailer wiring unless you think you can get it all done by the time you close. I'm then told that they don't do trailer plug wiring and really don't do much diesel work either and that they didn't think my truck had a filter or maybe it had an inline one that someone had removed. They actually tried to convince me that my 7.3 liter Ford diesel didn't have a fuel filter. It took me a 5 second google search to figure out where the fuel filter sat... right on top of the middle of the engine, under a cover. If it was a snake, it would of bit them. OK, so they are not familiar with diesels. But, if they don't do work on diesels and don't do trailer plugs why book an appointment for the work. I could of found somewhere else. Even if they would of told me that when I dropped my truck off in the AM, I would of had some time to react to the debacle. I was left at 5pm on Thursday scrambling to find a capable shop to do the work on Friday morning. Why wait until 30 minutes before you close to drop this bomb on me? They literally acted like this was just the way it goes. Well... I guess it is at Point S in Keizer. And, that is also why I'm leaving this review. Unprofessional, incompetent, unconcerned with the customer's experience... take your pick. They all fit. So, here's my warning/advice to everyone who will listen... go ahead and buy your tires from Point S but take the time to find some other place to have your mechanical/electrical work done. read more

I give this business 5 stars because they were professional, informative, and courteous. My 2018 Ford F150 needed some TLC, including tire rotation, brake check, and replacement of taillight component Dustin, who was manning the front desk, answered all my questions especially the reason for why my turning signal wasn't working correctly. Dustin showed me the taillight was full of water! I never would have guessed. He ordered the parts and the work got finished. They also replaced my windshield wipers and gave the windshield a good cleaning inside and out. I highly recommend coming here for tires, etc. Dustin explained to me what tires I need and also what tire sales and rebates coming up on Good Friday! I will definitely be returning! I like the waiting room, too, whatever tv they're playing has a great variety of lodging, food hints, news, People magazine type celebrities in a short segments. I bought a used car and as soon as I drove off the lot I knew there was a problem. It was bouncing as I drove down the road. I figured the shocks were shot. My work is next door to Point S Tire in Keizer. My company takes all of our company vehicles to them. So I took my new bouncy rig to them to get an estimate. Jared got it in right away and gave me the grocery list of problems. He went over the list with me to address the issues that were safety related versus comfort. The repair costs were fair and competitive. They also offer financing, which was huge for me. They started the repairs, addressed other concerns that came up. Work was done in less than a day. They had my rig running smooth! I have nothing but great things to say about these guys. They treat you good. They are honest and don't try to sell you everything under the sun. I'd assumed this company was in the business of seeking to sell tires, and also aspires toward enhanced customer satisfaction and from that likewise generate additional customer referrals. Obviously not on all counts! To date, I sent email inquiries to the listed address regarding two stores in the same city; in doing so I encountered the necessity to do that procedure multiple times because a message appeared indicated the website malfunctioned; phoned one of the two stores, received an assurance of a call back within 30 minutes as the principal staffer was away for an alleged short period; then posted a letter of complaint at the end of September 2023. In no instance was an email answered, the assured return phone call never eventuated, and nary any reply from the corporate office in Portland. Apparently this company and its stores are unaware they operate in a competitive marketplace. Thus the pointed recommendation that others in need of buying tires look elsewhere. read more

More to add, because this place is worth it. They've definitely earned my business for life. Same crappy apartment complex (though I no longer even visit there, let alone stay over night, thank god), someone put a Boone's bottle under my back tire. It shattered, glass in my tire, good night mamma. This happened roughly two months after I had the other tires replaced, and one after that tire got slashed. It was a bad couple of months. Anyways, I show up and ask for a used one. I can't keep buying tires every month! He has none there. He had just gone through his old trailer, and knew I already got his last one. He then called every tire store in Salem/Keizer looking for a used one. No one had one, or would cop to having one. He called Eugene. He called Woodburn. So he comes up to me and tells me he's sorry, he just can't find any used ones available. BUT...he found one on eBay. He even gives me the listing. Tells me that I can buy it off there and put it on myself. I guess I could...but I'm a sucker for small business, and even more so for exceptional service. I also hate buying things off of eBay after a couple of bad experiences (and an account hack). So I ask him if he'd be willing to do it. He looks around a bit and goes, "Well, yea, but...I'd have to charge more than what I paid for the tire and shipping. I mean..." I totally get that. The price he threw out was still more than reasonable. I did so. A couple of days later he tells me the tires in. I show up, they change it out, take care of my truck, I moved on. He also told me that when I was ready to put new tires on, I should probably get all new ones, and he'd be willing to buy back my old ones. Reasonable prices. They may not give away free cheap meat one month a year, but they sure do know what the concept of "Customer Service" means. read more

Troy worked on my truck I paid them to install my airbags on my Ford F250 which they were installed poorly on the driver side. The top bracket was not even mounted on the frame, but only one bolt was on it when there should've been two which in long-term it was damage the airbag, and all they said was why didn't you bring it back to me well they had two chances to fix it right they never did it either way so I choose to take it to another person which has a lot better reputation and had them fix it they then determined that the airbag was damaged due to the top bracket on the left side, not being mounted correctly So now it is costing me more to buy a new airbag set and have them installed which the cost is $900.00 all said and done they will be legal actions being taken I do not recommend them to anybody thanks for nothing Troy but costing me more money in the long run and you also forgot to put the heat shield on the exhaust pipe next to the airbag and yes that was in the kit read more

Do not go here. I had my brakes replaced over the summer (2020) and have had nothing but issues since then. First the breaks squeaked a day after replacement, so they convinced me it was something with the calipers. At that point, I've spent about $600 here and my breaks were still squeaky and now pulsing -- the next week my brake lines punctured. Whether or not that was related to their break job is speculation, but it's hard to believe that it is. Fast forward about 6 months and a caliper they replaced is shot and the brake pads are already at 35%. In total, I've spent about $800 getting a terrible brake job done, repaired, and now redone by someone else. Do not go here for anything but basic car maintenance. They've set me back too much money for the abysmal work done on my vehicle. read more

We had just waited elsewhere and the "noon" quote ended up with us coming back at 12:15 and it hadn't even been started. It actually took less than 15 and we were on our way. I went to these guys originally just looking for "any mechanic" to check my car that wouldn't start. He told me on the phone he'd check it out for free and then tell me what was wrong and I could decide for myself. Boy did I get lucky. He found the issue, gave me a price which compared to others I researched online afterwards, was very competitive. Work was done the next day. Don't know if it was the Gillster himself, but I'll definitely take my business there again in the hopefully distant future. Friendly people all around. read more

I have more to add to my previous review. I went back to see Mr. Brent Allen at what used to be Keizer Tire Factory now renamed Gill's Point S. I needed new tires for the rear of my car this time. When I arrived Brent greeted me with a smile and asked me how he could help me today. I told him of an issue with one of my rear tires constantly going flat every few days. He told me he would take a look and let me know what he found. Well I needed new tires on all four wheels which I wasn't expecting but Brent found me the right tires at a great price that I could afford and 45 minutes later bada bing, bada boom my baby was back on the road and ready to ride! This place has won my future car business. I had just received a quote from Les Schwabb for over $600, after having to wait over 2 hours, just to get my baby looked at. They then said I had to make an appointment to get it done after a part was ordered (2 days later). My boyfriend suggested Point S, so I gave it a shot. They jumped right on it, had the part needed on hand, and fixed it all up for only $200. I will go back there again, when the need arrises. Les Schwab was great when Les was around, but no longer! Keizer Tire Factory ROCKS! Like Jeff H mentioned in his review, Tire Factory in Keizer has had a change in ownership. I've also been buying tires at this location for years. Today I bought a new set of tires and had an alignment done as well. The service was EXCELLENT! The tires were a good deal! ALL of the employees were very nice and extremely helpful. I spoke with Tyler on several occasions on the phone and he was VERY helpful and VERY patient with me as I was choosing what tires to buy for my "new to me" used car. My wife does not mind coming here because the staff are nice and professional. Also, she like the fact that the customer waiting area is nice and clean. We are Keizer Tire Factory customers for life! Gills point s in Keizer is Not a good place for under the hood issues...maybe just tires only....will never know.... however they have no clue about engine issues... have had a bad experience with them & expecting some assembalence of a real mechanical understanding of what was needed at the time having worked with mechanics for 25+ yrs in my life...these people really have no reason to be a "mechanic" cause they really don't understand what it is to be a "mechanic"....I've asked a numerous amount of people, without telling them about my situation, about this place & they stated that the end results were so far under par & that they were over charged...they are nice people by far but they really don't know what they are doing...& I found out after the fact that a majority of the folks I talked to about them were afraid to say anything negative about them as am I...but the truth is what it is...maybe the other point s places are good..but not this one....sorry guys your just not good at your job read more
