Very shady experience at this location. I brought in a brand new back right tire sensor from AutoZone. They checked it first, told me it would work, charged me a $25 service fee, and said the car would be ready in 30 minutes. When I came back, they suddenly told me none of the sensor batteries were working and that it wasn't working at all. That made no sense since they had already checked the brand new part before taking my money. After I pushed back and asked for my part and refund, a few minutes later they came back saying, "Oh, it's working now." That alone felt dishonest, and then they also tried to upsell me on lug nuts I did not ask for. I would not trust this location. I recommend going somewhere else. read more

I had such a great experience at Discount Tire during a really stressful situation. I got a flat tire and had to be towed in, and the team was incredibly kind and helpful from the start. Cornelio went above and beyond to try to get my tire fixed quickly so I could get home to my newborn, which meant so much to me. I later realized I had a warranty through another company, and the team was so understanding. They even gave me a tire to safely get home so I wouldn't lose my warranty. I do not recommend this location. I needed to replace the back right tire sensor, so I bought a brand new part from AutoZone and brought it here for installation/programming. Before charging me, they checked the part and told me everything looked good and that they would be able to program it. They charged me a $25 service fee and told me the car would be ready in about 30 minutes. I receive outstanding service every time I go. I've been a customer for over 5 years now. They always fix my flats for free. With all of the construction going on all over San Diego, I'm constantly getting nails in my tires and they always remove them at no cost as long as there is no major damage to the tire. Last year one tire was so bad I had to replace it but I went ahead and replaced all 4 since they were also worn out and balding. When they recommended the tire warranty, I didn't think twice about getting it and I'm so glad I did because it came in handy. I took my car in yesterday for another nail in my tire. The damage was so bad they had to replace the tire but reminded me about the warranty I purchased a year ago and they replaced it for no additional cost because the warranty covered the tire replacement. That was a $200 savings for ONE Michelin tire. Plus they balanced and rotated my tires for free that was also part of the original tire purchase (which I completely forgot about until they reminded me). My husband and I trust them completely with our cars' tires. Oh, and I've never waited more than 30 minutes to an hour for flat repairs (time of day and how busy they are may also affect how quickly you get taken care of). I highly recommend them! read more

I stopped by this Discount Tire to get my tires inspected and properly filled with air. I arrived a little, so I was asked to wait a little bit. As soon as they opened, I was asked to drive my vehicle up for inspection. The inspection was quite thorough, and I received good news about my tires. Other than being underinflated, which they took care of right away, they a detailed report on my tires and approximately how much life each tire still had left. The young man who provided the service was very friendly and knowledgeable. The only drawback to this location is that their parking lot is rather small compared to most, but it works. read more

I had an awesome experience with Discount Tires on Palm Ave. I had scheduled an appointment for Monday at 8 AM, having ordered my tires on Friday. The morning of, I got a call from Temo letting me know that my tires were behind schedule, so I wouldn't show up and be disappointed. He was super considerate and gave me the option to buy what was available in stock right then, since I had to be at work at 9 AM. Great value for the price ! Though I wasn't able to get the original tires I'd ordered, I appreciated Temo's communication and willingness to help. He said he'd call back once the tires were ready, and he did! The best part? I arrived to find my tires were already there, and even though Temo apologized for the delay, it honestly wasn't a big deal. They got me in and out in no time. Only for convenience but that might be going out the window. Came by to get my tire pressure checked and there was a line, not a problem. The problem is that I am waiting not realizing the 2 other cars infront of me still have not been serviced. So I am blocked in as another car enters the queue and an employee still has not come out. Finally the front car honks it's horn. Eventually, an employee comimg from his lunch break with a chick-fil-a bag in his hand says he'll be right with us. This shop needs to get their communication going. I know the service is free but come on. We should have to be on the poor end of customer service. I'm writing this up while I wait in line. Pros: Conveniently located off the I-5. Customer service is fast, friendly, and professional. Reasonable pricing. Public restroom and decent waiting area. Offers text message and email updates. Military friendly. Cons: Misleading sales. I was sold tires under the guise of a solid manufacturer warranty and a certificate for repair, replacement, or refund. What???? Double protection on run flat tires?!?!? I was sold! A few months and 4K miles later I was informed by our dealership during routine maintenance of a sidewall bubble. I immediately notified Discount Tire of a tire defect. A week later during install I was charged for an increased replacement certificate and notified the warranty only covered tire tread. I unsuccessfully explained a sidewall bubble within a short duration of time was likely a manufacturer defect (component contamination or incomplete bonding during manufacturing will appear within the first six months of service). Needless to say the manager although calm was extremely condescending, dismissive, and unfamiliar with the manufacturer warranty. I was instructed to call the manufacturer and he would save the tire. I was also informed the replacement certificate fluctuates based on the cost of the tire (at that time). read more

I have finally come to realize discount tire is not a tire company they use to be. I was a loyal customer and have purchased my tires there for almost 30 years. I purchased new tires on my Challenger from this store a couple of years ago. My wife drives this car to and from work. We don't do burn outs or fast turns or even take long distance trips. This is a commuter vehicle. The last couple times I came in to get my free rotation they do an inspection on my tires and consultant with me that I need to replace my tires. The last time I came they did decide to rotate my tires per my request. This time on Thursday last week they told me that rotating the tires would do me no good because each tire has the exact same tread wear. I was blown away from the answer the assistant tech gave me. Clearly the tires do not have the exact same tread wear. I questioned the service assistant by asking him the question; Do you think the rear tires also turn when I steer to the left or right when driving my vehicle? (Kind of like a quadra steer vehicle) The assistant tech said, yes, they do. I stated to the assistant tech, that these tires do not have enough mileage for them to be replaced. The assistant tech stated that if you want to check the warranty of your tires to see if they will give you some sort of credit back and apply them to the new tires and he would gladly look into this and see if I could receive a credit. I told the assistant, no, I don't want new tires. I then asked the assistant tech; so, you won't rotate my tires? And the tech answered, NO, I will not rotate your tires. And by the way, I received a notification email from Discount Tire today letting me know that their records show my vehicle may be due for a free tire rotation and wants me to book a free tire rotation appointment. I am local here in IB. I will let everyone know if I am asked where to get new tires and I will strongly advise them never to come to Discount Tire. read more

Took my truck in for a tire rotation and had them change the driver side wiper blade. As I was leaving I noticed there was a piece of packaging still on my hood so I got out to grab it and noticed a new small dent right next to the trash. I called them when I got home and Jesse said to bring it in tomorrow and talk to josh the manager. Next day I bring it in just to have Josh tell me he did the work himself and that there was no way they could have possibly made that dent. I told him I just washed my car and wiped down the entire body right before I came to discount tires and I know for a fact there was no dent previously. He said "there is no tools that they put on the hood and the wiper blade is plastic/rubber and wouldn't even dent it if they dropped it from 5 feet above"... however I was watching them do the work from the office(my phone was dead) and saw them literally throw the new wiper blade onto my windshield and then removed the old wiper (which is metal)and put it right there on the hood with all the packaging. He said it was most likely a rock or even something falling out of a tree... this is a new f-150 and I have had it for a year and there are no dents on the entire hood! Now I have to go to corporate claims because Josh wouldn't admit to the fact that he dented my hood saying he's been doing this for years and never damaged clients vehicles and that it's my word against his. Be a man and take responsibility for your actions and learn from your mistakes!! Put down a moving blanket on the clients hood if your going to be careless and do a sloppy job... just because they are fast doesn't mean they're good... moral of the story change your own wipers lol read more
