I came in stressed about some car issues, I do a random walk-in and instead of rushing me through, they took the time to properly diagnose the problem and run multiple tests to make sure my car was actually running safely and smoothly. What really impressed me was their honesty. They recommended another business for work that was outside of their scope, which says a lot about their integrity, they genuinely cared about helping me, not just making a sale. Even during a busy schedule, they didn't cut corners, and to top it all off, they didn't even charge me for the diagnostics. That level of professionalism and kindness is rare. Recently I had a grinding noise coming from the front brakes on my 2005 Toyota Camry and brought it in for a brake inspection. Upon completion of the inspection I was told there was 4mm of pad left and the brakes were good. Around 1,500 miles later I was still hearing the same noise so I pulled off the pads myself and both the left and right pad looked like the photo. During the call, I informed the customer service representative that I would be bringing my own parts and asked if that would be acceptable. They assured me it was and scheduled my appointment. On the day of the appointment, I arrived early and was quoted $400. When I clarified that the appointment was for labor only to replace the shocks, I was then told that their policy prohibits servicing vehicles with customer-supplied parts. While I understand policies, I find it unacceptable that this crucial information was not communicated during the scheduling process. My time was completely wasted. Making an appointment, arriving at the shop, and then being denied service is incredibly frustrating. This was my first and last experience with this business. I brought my car in for service here. The car was under warranty. Firestone's estimate for the repairs was about $7,000, so the warranty company scheduled an inspection. Firestone refused to cooperate with the inspection and would not show the inspector the issues, so my warranty claim was not approved. I ended up having to have the car towed to the dealership and start the process over again with a new inspection. Firestone still forced me to pay diagnostic charges before they would release my car to me. These guys are basically thieves. read more

There's been two separate occasions where I took my car to get serviced, honestly the employees working at the desk will lie to you for an estimate of a wait time. I took my car in for an oil change and they told me there was a 2 hour wait, I said "ok , I'll be back, when it's done." After 4 hours of waiting they had not even laid a finger on my car and said they can have it ready in the morning instead . Never did they bother to call me and inform me of any delays. I was without a car all day. Normally I wouldn't be bothered if this was a first time. But they've done this on numerous occasions. They take advantage of women! Horrible. My wife took my truck to replace tires and they took advantage of her. Firestone in Chula Vista charged an additional $324 plus a bunch of additional fees to install the tires on my 2013 Toyota Tacoma. This was on top of the new tires. The tires cost $451.96. But all together she was charged $980. They didn't offer her the holiday specials either. I work in the auto industry and this one hurts. They charged to dispose 4 tires when I took 3 of the 4 home with me. Horrible. They haven't even reached out to refund what was overcharged. Shame. read more

My car had a flat tire in Bonita and was accidentally towed to this location. I have only used the location at 430 Broadway and have never had a problem there! 3+ hours to do a safety inspection and change a tire. Service wasn't great and I was charged $125 for a new tire because they couldn't repair it under warranty. I bought 4 brand new tires at Firestone in 2023 and bought the road hazard warranty! I managed to block out why I have been putting off an alignment. I now remember why... I purchased a lifetime alignment at another location because they were amazing. I moved and came to this location as it was the closest to my house. I made an appointment last week for 11:00 on Monday, guy said it usually takes an hour and a half. I drop the truck off at 10:30 and tell them I'm going to wait. I asked him how long it would take and he said he would call me in 15 minutes to let me know (He never called). I leave their building to walk around outside and come back 2 hours later. I walk up and still see my truck sitting in the same parking space. I walk in and immediately the guy who greeted me this morning recognized me, I couldn't even talk to him before he darted in the back. He flagged someone about my truck, I saw he held the pouch with my keys. He proceeds to tell me it got a little backed up and it would be another 30 minutes... Why TF do you make appointments if you blow off the people who plan it out?!? Because it isn't some big sale and a return for an alignment where you make no money?!? I get my car and saw staining on the seat. Are you F kidding?!? They "cleaned" it right away but come on. It was supposed to be my lunch break not an entire day of work. Came here for alignment. Judith, the Service Manager was pleasant, friendly and knows her products and services very well. I set up my appointment via phone and the person was very courteous. The shop is open on Sundays and the location is very easy to find and they have good parking spots. Covid 19 protocols were observed. I was helped by 2 of the nicest Customer service workers that you can honestly have. The names are Judith and Julio. They both treated me well told me thangs about my car that the Ford dealership never even shared with me. The showed me the wear and tear on all my tires called me to the back to show me which was good and which was bad. I also was told about anythang extra like if I need brakes or rotors or if my rims was bent or straight. The stuff they showed me Ford dealership never, ever mention and I usual go to Ford for everything. Firestone did me right and I will for now on go to them and let them work on all my cars. You can easily speak the lingo with her and she understands what you need and the most important part she explains WHY you will need a specific service with confidence. My elderly mother and father with demetia got a flat tire on their brand new 2018 Subaru crosstrek and decided to go here for repair. They said it was not repairable and they needed to buy 4 new tires since it is an all wheel drive vehicle. WTF! Fortunately, my Mom called me and I spoke with the sale person there. What an idiot! He fumbled over his words and said it might void the warranty. The car has less than 1k miles on it and the tires still have the nipples on them. She went to Hernandez Tires and they ordered her a brand new exact match tire. I called Subaru and they said it definitely would not effect the warranty. These guys are shady as hell. Car battery began to go bad on our recent trip to the San Diego area so I brought our 370z here at the recommendation of a Gabriel at a nearby AutoZone. We were actually getting ready to head out to the beach and this battery issue could have really hampered our day. I came here for a full inspection, tune up and to fix my oil pressure switch. After $1,051 you would think the engine light wouldn't come back on for a while. After not even a week, I was driving up North and my engine light came back on. I went to the Firestone in Upland and they checked my car out and said my oil pressure switch was faulty. They replaced it the next day with a part from the Honda dealership (the Firestone in SD used an after market part) and everything was fine until today when my engine light came back on. Let me say again, it hasn't even been a full month. I used my own code reader and checked the code myself, and of course - same issue - the P2646 code. So now I'm here again, after spending over $1k, getting the same part fixed for the THIRD time. I have to say, the staff at Upland is very nice compared to the SD staff. I called SD and asked them what the f is going on and if they even checked my car at all, and the guy who helped me said they didn't test the part or anything after fixing it. He didn't care whatsoever. He answered the phone "hey buddy, what's up?" when I'm a pissed customer who just spent $1k for them to twiddle their thumbs. I can tell when you don't do **** to my car. I'm hoping after this fix I don't have to come back to a Firestone ever again. And I will never come back again. I don't trust them to fix my vehicle. You shouldn't either. UPDATE: Got a refund for only the repair of the oil switch and they told me to go to Honda. Honda basically told me the P2646 code will never go away since it's a problem with that model of car, but because there's been no accidents because of it there was never a recall. I took my two year old Ford Edge to Perry Ford in National City last week for an oil change and was told that my battery needed to be replaced soon at a cost of almost $200 which I thought was ludicrous. I started looking for a repair shop closer to my home that carried Interstate Batteries and came across Firestone. On their website, they had a coupon for my exact battery at $99.99 and when I called the store, I found out that installation would only cost $15.99. Even though I had to order the battery, it arrived at the store the next day so I stopped by after work and was in and out of there in around 20 minutes. $200 at the dealer compared to $115.98 at Firestone. Thanks to my check-in deal I received my oil change for only $20 - winning! I downloaded their app and made an appointment (co feature) and had no issue being recognized in their system. Note that the promotions they have listed in their apps must be shown/mentioned after you arrive for service. Service was great, but the wait however not so much. My wait was over an hour which seemed long to me for a simple oil change. I've never waited this long for an oil change when I was a walk-in, so I definitely didn't anticipate waiting this long having made an appointment weeks in advance. After they finished with my car, they gave me my keys back by I had to wait yet again because my car was blocked in. What in the world?! That wasn't a huge deal, but at that point I was hungry and over the earlier wait. They did seem busy, but I think appointments should take precedence. I have things to do. I will say, all of the staff is very friendly and that's always a plus. I could tell through their interactions that many of their customers were regulars which is good to see. Overall I like Firestone, so I'll probably be returning for more service..might try a different location to see if I get in and out quicker. My husband called this location yesterday, around 3:30 or 3:45, in hopes of getting a diagnostic on my CRV. The air conditioning stopped working on Friday. I'm 6 months pregnant and have a 3-year old toddler. We knew it wasn't likely to be the entire AC unit that needed to be replaced, since my car was still blowing warm air. We were hoping it was just coolant or some other smaller fix. Whomever he talked with said the diagnostic would take 2-2.5 hours. What a convenient thing to say, just a couple of hours before closing time. We took my car into the Firestone in Santee this morning shortly after they opened. There was only one technician, which wasn't a surprise, because it's a Sunday.
