Purchased 4 tires and alignment. Appointment was scheduled at 10:00 am. I arrived at 9:30am. I was checked in and immediately the tires were being replaced. Time I was waiting with tires being installed and alignment less than 1.5 hours. Price of all was very very reasonable. I do recommend American tire depot to everyone in need of tires.. We sent our daughter down there to get her flat tire repaired under warranty and all she got was a lot of inaccurate accusations from the tire representative, as well as a very shitty experience of Customer Service. They made a sexist remark by saying this wouldn't have happened if a woman wasn't driving. We believe the tires they sold her were cheap to begin with, and then when she has flats, we fight with them to follow through on the warranty. Don't let your tight budget make the mistake of buying from American Tire Depot. There's so many other places you can purchase with better customer service. read more

Accolades to Barak! I get it. We want our cars to be perfect. And we want businesses to be as well. I'm in the shop. A customer expressed lots of expletives, frustration, and unprofessional behavior toward Barak. The customer was flustered & would walk outside to shout out his anguish. Barak stayed level-headed, called whomever he could to help get the part, promised to make it right. All while enduring the customers venom. This is why I've been a consistent customer. Not only is the mechanic workmanship excellent but the professional demeanor is outstanding!! He deserves more than raise. The entire shop deserves stock in the company. BTW I'm still coming here. Fantastic place, very cost affective! Barac was highly knowledgeable and very informative. Had an unexpected out of town emergency and they got me in and out in under an hour. The team was very customer service orientated and as a woman alone I felt comfortable and safe. The waiting area was well planed out and air conditioned so that was very nice. I was able to plan for other services in the near future and the use quality parts and oils. I asked tones of questions and got honest and direct answers. The shop was neat and there was lots of parking. The driveway was easily accessible and they have handicap parking as well. The technicians were very fast and efficient. They went above expectation. I'm writing this review to give a completely transparent account of my experience so other customers can make informed decisions. My wife originally had a small screw in her tire. We brought the vehicle to American Tire Depot on Broadway in Chula Vista because they offered to repair it. The tire was nearly new and only needed a simple repair. The shop performed the repair and sent us on our way. The very next day the TPMS light came back on and the tire was still losing air. After checking the tire myself with soapy water, I confirmed that air was still leaking from the same repair area. To be fair, I had the tire inspected by two completely independent tire shops that had no knowledge of the situation. Both shops told me the same thing: the tire had been excessively sanded during the repair and the structural integrity of the tire was compromised. They also explained that current industry standards require a plug-and-patch repair from inside the tire, while the repair performed here was only a patch. At that point I contacted corporate. The district manager stepped in and agreed that the tire should be replaced. I appreciated that part of the process. However, when I arrived at the Broadway location for the replacement, the experience became extremely uncomfortable. Despite the replacement already being approved and the tire already being sourced, the store manager repeatedly tried to convince me to keep the original tire and allow them to repair it again instead of installing the new tire. Another employee kept insisting that the other tire shops were "just trying to sell me a tire," even though those shops had no knowledge of this situation and independently reached the same conclusion. At one point it honestly felt like the tire might not be replaced at all until the manager asked one of the technicians if they had plugs available to perform a plug-and-patch repair. The technician responded that they did not have plugs available. That was concerning because plug-and-patch repairs are considered the standard method in the industry. The conversation then shifted back to installing the replacement tire. During the discussion the manager also said he would personally pay for the tire, which made the situation uncomfortable because it felt like a guilt tactic to pressure me into accepting another repair instead of the replacement that had already been approved. I also had another technician repeatedly inserting himself into the conversation with his personal opinions even though I was already speaking directly with the manager. Eventually the new tire was installed, but the experience didn't end there. The manager kept my keys while he stayed on a phone call for more than ten minutes even after I explained that I was on my lunch break and needed to get back to work. I ended up spending almost an hour at the shop. Because of the delay I returned to work more than 30 minutes late and was written up by my employer. After leaving the shop and driving back to work, the tire pressure warning light came back on because the tire was not set to the correct PSI and the TPMS system had not been properly calibrated. This was surprising because during the visit the manager had mentioned that they were the best when it comes to tire repairs and installations, yet the TPMS system was not reset properly. What concerns me the most is that if my wife had been the one bringing the vehicle in instead of me, she may have been persuaded to accept another repair instead of the replacement that had already been approved. I'm not writing this out of anger. I'm writing this so customers understand the full story and can make informed decisions. The tire was eventually replaced, which I appreciate, but the process to get there was unnecessarily difficult and uncomfortable. I've spent over $1300 to have them fix the engine oil leak on my vehicle and they could'nt fix it. Returned twice so maybe they can figure it out. Left my vehicle with them for at least 2 Weeks however their final call was "that's all we can/could do". And they charge me again when i returned and told me it was still leaking. lol I just took my keys and left ...there is nothing else to discuss. Oh no.....oh no..... "Traditional scammers" we've all heard that many mechanics auto shops cannot be trusted, This is precisely exactly that.... They cannot be trusted, I went to the shop only for a estimate and then I was going to leave and make my own decision but Barack shoved it down my throat that I must get the car repaired asap, He was speaking in a tone of dread, "all fake" all a scam and upper management in this company allows it because they know that this goes on and they will not stop it, I've heard through the reviews that he and other desk managers at American tire Depot are on commission, I'm guessing they are because he/Barak will use any tactic he can to try to force you to decide right then and there to get the work done there, And then the workers play in on his game and push the customers to spend the very highest amounts of money to get their car worked on but here's the thing I don't even think they really worked on my car I think they traded out possibly took out the part that they said was faulty and then just stuck in another old part that they collect when they swap it out from customers cars that come in, I got no proof at all that this place put any new parts in my car and I paid hundreds and hundreds of dollars for the parts and I paid a total of $1,700 for "the so-called repair"after they said I was all done I paid got in my car and left within a few seconds the car didn't feel right and within 90 seconds I knew something was really really wrong because when I drove INTO the business my car was feeling like perfection I had had other mechanics over the last 2 months make my car run supremely well... and I was only going into this place to ask them basically a ESTIMATE question and was forced into a FAKE repair, again when I left the place within minutes I knew something was horribly wrong steering wheel wasn't even working The car was making a half a dozen scary noises, I tried to call over to the shop but they had already completely closed down for the day because it was the end of the day, I'm sickened that I even trusted these people, Do not trust any positive reviews, Do everything you can to be intuitive whenever you go to any auto shop and also get multiple estimates from multiple shops before you turn over your money.... "Note any red flags"The red flags I experienced were while my car was lifted up in the air and couldn't do anything about it everything was already in the process, and the mechanic that was working on my car look like he wasn't over 22 years old so basically almost no experience and I end up leaving for the day with a car that CANNIT be used, I can't drive my car, Henry and Robert that are supposed to be the upper management or district managers need to fire these crooked employees and change up their whole system and "do customers right".... If This shop in Chula Vista did this to me imagine what they're doing to every single customer why would they just choose me... That's not the case, It's that they do it to EVERYBODY and if you read the reviews for all the locations in Southern California they're all saying the same thing that this company practices scam practices to try to strip the customer of every dollar they can get I was overcharged across the board, when I drove off the lot The car's not even safe to drive after what they did to my car.... I'm the type of person "who's completely on it" completely aware of everything going on with my car and I love car engines so I'm basically very knowledgeable but after what these guys did to me believe me they're doing it to everybody and if any of the positive reviews here are actually real these people haven't yet learned "of the american tire depot scam" and they're willing to throw away large amounts of money. read more

I went for a flat tire and asked if they could patch it and the guy inside said it would take 2 hours, which was fine I understand especially because I work in a mechanic shop too and understand it gets busy, but when I asked if someone could put air on my spare tire that was on my car that was low he said they can't because they have "1,2,3,4,5 cars in front of me" and rudely said no. I just said ok thanks. putting air on my tire doesn't take more than 1 minute. the guy outside that took my loose tire to be patched noticed it and was able to put air on it but the guy inside was not helpful and was rude. I ended up just taking my loose patched tire home and putting the tire on my self because after 3 hours of leaving my tire there it was still going to be a 2 hour wait to put it on the car. read more

Horrible customer service. Barrack was not interested in my business. I was sent there from my warranty provider. All I had was a pin hole leak on my coolant reservoir tank. Dude wanted to charge me $60 bucks to look at it haha. I couldn't believe that. Then told me it would take 1.5 hrs. I walked away at that point . I was able to get tires through my insurance perks and have them installed by American Tire Depot less than a week later! Mind you, we were previously going to Discount Tire.. I will never switch back! I dropped my car off at 10am (with an appointment) and picked it up less than 2 hours later.
