I brought my Subaru here for a tire install and a wheel alignment. Unfortunately, the technician did a completely rushed and negligent job. When they handed me the car back, my steering wheel was turned sideways/crooked, and the technician had handwritten "not adjustable" next to my front right camber specification and claiming rear left toe was maxed out. Knowing that Subarus have factory camber adjustment bolts, I took my vehicle to a specialized mechanic shop for a second opinion. They put it on their diagnostic rack for free and confirmed my suspension was 100% healthy. The only reason the alignment numbers looked "maxed out" was because the Discount Tire technician failed to center and lock my steering wheel straight before starting the alignment. I had to drive back to Discount Tire to demand they fix their mistake. They put it back on the rack and magically got all the numbers perfectly into the green zone using the factory adjustments. To make matters worse, the same technician who did the lazy work asked me, "Did I say the camber couldn't be adjusted?" When I pointed out his own handwriting on the paper, he admitted, "Oh yeah, I didn't even look at it." Crazy. It is completely unacceptable for a paying customer to have hours of their time wasted because a technician admits they didn't even look at the factory adjustments. Absolutely unacceptable. I paid for a front-end alignment, and when I got my vehicle back, the steering wheel was about 2 degrees off-center to the left. That's one of the most basic things that should be checked before handing a vehicle back to a customer. I had to waste more of my time driving to the Harriman location to have them fix it. Their technician immediately recognized the problem and told me the original alignment had been done incorrectly. It's frustrating to pay for a professional service only to have someone else correct their mistakes. If your work can't be trusted on something as basic as centering a steering wheel, it doesn't inspire confidence in the rest of the job. I took it back to be aligned two days later and, mysteriously, the cambers were NOT out, but the rest of the alignment "was barely out of spec so needed to be fixed". This is my second time coming to discount tires and having disappointments, this time around I dropped off my car with an appointment to fix the tire that had a nail in it. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to stay. It was a drop off. That's how I submitted it when they called me back they told me that the tire could not be fixed. They gave me prices. I was willing to pay for a new tire, but I didn't want to make the decision. I asked my partner to call. They told them that the tire was patchable right when he was about to pay for it time comes for us to pick up the vehicle 3 hours later. The tire is not on the rim. The spare is still on the vehicle and they give me a car without a solution to the flat tire when I asked what happened that I was willing to pay they say they did not know I was confused. They didn't offer a solution when I said that is fine. I'm gonna go to a different shop. They were simply OK with it and did not offer any solutions or compensation for the miscommunication. Ended up going to Les Schwab- they fixed it for free tho discount said it wasn't reparable. They were ganna charge me from $190-$289 fo one tire- les Schwab was ganna charge me $155. I have a 4x4 with a spare tire. I can tell how they rotated the tires because the car wash has rubbed the front rims so they are silver on the edges, and the rear rims are still black on the edges. . I asked them to rotate 4 tires, as I didn't want to change the spare. I told them the air pressure to top at 32 PSI. and to repair a leaking front tire. THE GOOD: They did fine removing the nail and plugging the leaking tire. THE BAD: They inflated only three of the four tires, and the ones they did inflate were over 36 PSI. The tire they missed was still 28 PSI. So they ingored my directions. THE VERY BAD: They totally rotated the tires incorrectly. I should have put the blacks on the front axle and the silvers in back (even if they crossed the fronts). The silver wheels were both on the passenger side, and the black wheels were on the driver side. I went in and said, "This doesn't look right." They said they just rotated all tires clockwise and that they had rotated in the spare (which had a black rim). I'm not sure if they did the spare at all, but even if so, one of the silvers should have moved to the spare position. And to make matters worse, they tried to tell me that the clockwise rotation is correct. WTF! read more

Traveling through state of Utah and needed a tires replaced on two rims. Called and verified they could do the job and they said they would have it done by 6pm. We dropped off tires and rims at 4:30, received text status link at 5:05 that they got it into the bay, another status link at 5:27 saying it was completed, arrived to store at 5:54 and every door was locked and bay closed. This is a Saturday night in UTAH and of course they are closed Sunday so now we are stuck in Saratoga Springs UTAH until Monday morning at 8 when they open next. Ok being a female walking into any kind of automotive shop has always made me wary. Are they going to take advantage of me and upsell me, etc. But my husband was just here for a tire last week and he told me he really liked these guys. So here we are, we think we might have ran over a tire on our way up to Hill AFB yesterday. Pressure light for our right side back tire was the issue now. When he was there last week it was the front right. My husband had to change to the spare to make sure we got home ok. He told me to try and take it in today to this Discount Tire since he had to work. I got there just before 10am , no appt on a Saturday -- but they got me in! I was in and out in 20 mins and they said NO CHARGE FOR TIRE REPAIRS!! They even made sure the others were all in good condition and had enough air. At first they couldn't find the issue, no nail. But when I told him the pressure indicator came on and was telling us different- he went back and rechecked it and found an issue with the valve! Epic service! The guys I dealt with ...from the counter person who checked me in to the guy who serviced my car... were super friendly, polite and very professional. I usually have really bad experiences at mechanic shops so I sorta come in with the expectation that they're going to let me down. I still hope to have a good experience at a shop but with all the things that have happened in the past, I am prepared for another crappy experience. Long story short, a mechanic shop in the state really messed up my car last time and I haven't went to a mechanic since. I have done all my own maintenance but my tire rotations got missed for longer than they should've. Then, when I went to do my tire rotation, it turned out to be a much bigger project because the last mechanic shop stripped my lug nuts pretty bad, but we'll get to that a little later. So, I walk into Discount Tire. It is my first time ever going and it is really busy. I finally get greeted by one of the desk guys and he asks me what brings me in. I explain that I need a tire rotation. He then asks if I bought my tires here. Now, I have bought each tire from a different place at this point so I really don't know where they're from, but I was scared of being refused/charged so I said "I think so". We went out to check and it turns out, none of my tires have been bought there. Hahah whoops. Anyways, they still offered to do it for free but said there was a bit of a wait. I was totally fine with that so I hopped over to one of the nearby restaurants. That is one of the perks of this specific Discount Tire location--they are close to some shopping, restaurants and grocery so if you are waiting for your car and have other things you need to get done, you're in luck. They called me as they were working on my tire rotation and let me know that my lugs were stripped and it was ideal to get new ones. I agreed, which took the new total to $53~. I was okay with this though because I knew the lug nuts weren't actually stripped and they weren't trying to sell me on something I didn't need. They also didn't pull out my air filter or anything and try to upgrade that. They did offer to change my windshield wipers because they were having a sale, but I am okay with that because of the way they approached it. I didn't end up taking their offer on the wipers but I felt like they were just trying to make a little more profit, which there's nothing wrong with that, as they didn't force me or lie to me when doing so. Also he told me that the tread was at 3/32 and that I would need new tires in a few months anyway, so he priced out 4 new tires for me. My car only has 10k miles on it. I left and took the tire to Les Schwabb who fixed the tire with no issues. Had them measure the tread in front of me and it was 6/32. This place is a rip off. First, their tires are excessively expensive. Second, their service warranty is crap. The following has happened to me and my children: "We're sorry, but your tires are bald, so we can't service them. Do you want to buy new tires?" In the latest case, we purchased the tires from them. They're 60,000 mile tires that have about 10,000 miles on them. We've had them serviced regularly. No steering or alignment problems, and the "bald" tires are clearly NOT bald and have tread remaining above the wear strip in the tire on all tires. The tires aren't even worn unevenly. But now, they won't rotate them. What the crap?? You're going to leave more worn tires on my drive tires? Like I said, this isn't the first time this has happened to me, and I'm not the only one this has happened to. Note the sign right as you walk in. It's all about how having less than 2/32's tire tread is dangerous . . . Their gimmick is to always tell you that you don't meet the minimums and sell you new tires you don't need. They even have this cute little tool to prove it to you, which is easily gimmicked. In my daughter's case, she got a nail puncture in the side of her tire, but they also wouldn't honor their repair or replace warranty because her tires were "bald." Funny thing is that the tires were actually almost new! They won't be getting any more of my business. read more

I'm so grateful we got the tire insurance because we have used it 3 times now! And they're true to their word with it. The flat tire I came in today with was replaced for free, they only ask that in exchange you get insurance on the new tire. $14.35 and I'm out of here! No up selling. Just great service! I rarely review anything besides food but I couldn't pass the chance to pass on how much I love this place. On a road trip in from California, visiting family in Eagle Mountain, and my tire pressure starts getting low. After topping it off, it was low again in the morning. Not wanting to start a 15 hour drive without getting it checked I stopped by here on Friday morning. I asked them to check for any leaks. If they can find a leak and patch it, we'll do that, otherwise stick a new one on there. I walked in thinking I'd be two hours behind in my road trip and out $150. Well they called my name like 25 minutes later, showing me the screw they pulled from my tire! Super pleased they were asked how much... nothing! What?! Free! I'm almost annoyed! I wanted to buy them all lunch. Seriously. All patched up good as new and out the door in less than 30 minutes, free of cost. To add to this, everyone had great customer service. This Discount location is the best. Best price match, best service, and most importantly best communication. Garret and his team do great work. I have purchased several sets of wheels and tires from them. They can always find the style and size to make our builds perfect. They communicate clearly every step of the way. We have had some issues with wheel center caps breaking but these guys always take care of things that happen by mistake. I recently had a pair of pliers go through an almost brand new 38" ridge grappler. I didn't buy the hazard certs but these guys still helped me out big time. I ended up only paying $100 bucks to replace the tire and they did it In less then three days before a trip. When you help customers like this you will always have their business.
