Took wheels and tires in the get new tires and balanced. Put on at the house, had a vibration next day. Took it back and told them I feel a bump at any speed so I think it's the tires. Brian the manager said they rebalanced and checked it for out of roundness. Obviously he did not because I had to do it once I got fed up with it without even the inventory of tools he has. So I could bring proof I took a video and finally after going the 3rd time this time to a different location where they listened to me I got tires that were not manufacture defect. Still having to pay to fix after 3 weekends in a row is absurd. Won't be going back here!! read more

Disappointed by Oversight and Accountability Purchased four brand-new tires from this shop. Less than 24 hours later, the front right tire was completely flat--not even the one we originally brought in due to a nail. Took it back and were told the issue was a cracked rear rim (Ford OEM 20", ~$700). The kicker? They installed a new tire on that rim without noticing the crack and admitted they "only check the front of the rim for cracks," not the back. That's a $1,400 tire install done without a full rim inspection. Their solution? A $100 discount and a recommendation to buy a new rim ourselves. This rim wasn't cracked before. It was either damaged during install or missed due to poor inspection. Either way, I expected better accountability and quality control. Disappointed that a safety-critical issue like this was brushed off. If you're spending serious money here, make sure they inspect everything--because apparently, they don't. read more

Had a puncture in my 6 week old tire on my new car. Dropped off tire, came back to have it put on & was told it would be 2 hours before they could do it. I said I guess I can put it back on since I have a floor jack & electric impact wrench at home even though I am 76 years old. Maurice said no, he would do it. Pulled my car over in front of a bay, pulled out a jack & changed the tire. I know they have changed a little since 1980 when I started buying their tires as far as pushing a new tire purchase but that is what they do----- Sell Tires. I brought my 2003 Chrysler Town & Country in for a tire rotation and balance. The guy handed me my keys and said everything was all good. I walk outside and one of my wheel covers was missing, one of my valve caps was missing, and then one of my studs was snapped in half (a brand new stud with 0 rust). He grabbed the missing wheel cover from the shop and put it back on. He then told me that "this happens and the stud was worn out". I told him immediately that no that stud looks brand new and I need y'all to fix this immediately. Then I was handed some form to go get it fixed at Midas so now I get to spend my valuable time going there to get it replaced. These guys are always knowledgeable, respectful, and punctual. I had to replace my Lincoln MKZ hybrid tire over this past weekend due to a pot hole that blew the tire wall out. They took less than an hour start to finish, first time ever seeing that vehicle. They always have the lowest prices which is normally why we go there. Today I had to get with my insurance company to get a claim filed (I have tire insurance) in order to get my refund for what the replacement cost me, and I was on the phone with a lovely gentleman named Dorien who stayed on the phone for 10 minutes with us trying to get all the details sorted. Quality of service was 10/10. Came in on 8/16/25 for simple flat tire replacement. Had a warranty on them. The guy who helped me (JJ) was very friendly and polite. After receiving my car I thought it had an issue when turning. Had a guy check it out and asked some questions. It ended up being completely fine idk what I heard but my car left the shop in 10/10 condition, wheel was perfect. They got me in immediately took care of me, went above and beyond by replacing the tire with a new tire, no cost to me. Listen to me with my frustrations for the day with my husband being out of town and having to have this done during work hours it been a difficult day and they fixed it and made it better. Beware of this place! I took my Ford Explorer in to get the tires rotated and when I got my car back, four dash lights came on. I told the manager about it and was told to take it to Midas, their mechanic, to look at it. Long story short, $800 to repair the ABS Control module. Discount tire says they didn't do anything so I guess lightning struck while they were rotating my tires. I didn't have any dash lights on before they got their hands on my car and when I got it back, four came on while u was still in their parking lot. read more

I was so pleased with this location. I was getting everything ready to get out of my car to walk in and was greeted by an employee before I could get inside. He immediately walked around and checked all tires while asking questions and getting to know me and how much I drive. Anyway, they said it would take about 45 minutes for them to change all four tires for new ones, but they finished in 30 minutes, even though it was very busy. I was completely surprised with how seamless/smooth & quick it went and how nice all the staff was. Comparing it to other locations I've been to, this one has the best customer service by far. Been going there for years and product is great. My problem with these people is that when I go a do a tire rotation they come out and say the lug nut won't come out because is crossed threaded. First of all you people are the ones doing the rotation on a consistent basis , how is that my problem you clowns are the ones who done the previous maintenance on it. They will break the stud and give a voucher to get it fix , now I'm the one getting inconvenience and have to go sit at another shop to have them replace the stud for something they done. 3 times that this has happen to me. The only reason that I even left one star is because google reviews makes you select... Tomball Discount Tire is an absolutely ridiculous excuse for a tire service facility.... Now if you want to purchase new tires, rims etc. they do a relatively acceptable, yet, mediocre job. But if you require a bit more intellect and knowledge past brand new rubber and air, steer clear of this place. I have used them a few times over the past years with very limited success. More so due to the necessity as they were one of the only shops in our local area with the proper equipment to deal with the Alcoa aluminum rims on dodge 3500 trucks (expect damage though, that they will tell you was already there when you brought it in) The final straw was last night though, when my daughter took a single tire and rim to them. She did so as it was on her way home from work. the tire had a simple slow leak around the bead. Simple fix right? Well apparently not for Mr. Matthew. She had called earlier in the day and explained the situation. Whomever she spoke with said not a problem, bring it in we will get it cleaned up and resealed. When she got there at 530 pm Matthew started a dialogue with her, and she explained the situation. Now my daughter has spent a very significant amount of time with me in the garage since she was able to walk. she is 21 years old, changes oil, brakes, rotates tires, and just about any other vehicle maintenance that is required. She's a well rounded kid, and very car savvy. Matthew asked her if it was a chrome rim, she said no it is a 17" polished aluminum rim. She explained that she had snooped the tire and it was a slow bead leak that just needed to be cleaned and reset. Mr. Matthew gave her the "its a silly girl" answer of oh well we aren't going to be able to fix that its because it is corrosion and the chrome flaking on the inside of the rim. Now if he had even gone out and looked at the tire he would have visually confirmed the fact that he was already told him, that it was NOT a chrome rim and therefore had no chrome to flake off, and the state of the rims would have led him to understand that there is definitely no corrosion of any kind that would be inhibiting the bead set. My daughter calmly looked at him and said, OK then I will take my business elsewhere, but my dad definitely is not going to like that answer. Which I did not. If I might offer some tire shop advice to the staff and management at Tomball Discount Tire. 1. DO NOT treat anyone who walks through your door like they are an idiot, because there is a very real possibility that they may be a whole lot more intelligent and have way more experience than may appear. Potentially even more than you there buddy. 2. You are established in a small farming community, if you are going to be in the tire business you best learn how to use a wire wheel, emery cloth, and bead sealant. 3. If you don't want people going to your competitors, then see point 1, and 2. ---Shout out to the young man at the NTB at 249 and Spring Cypress who did exactly what was needed and had the tire ready to go back on the truck in under 15 minutes. Oh and he was very sympathetic to the nonsense that she had already dealt with at Discount and did it FOC. Said it was a simple easy fix that was not worth the time to write up the paperwork.--- Do better Discount. read more

I'm really impressed with the quality of the service that I received! The employee who helped me, Ethan, was courteous and very helpful. He talked me through what my options were and didn't take advantage of my limited knowledge about cars. All of the employees were on top of things, and I could tell that they ran an efficient operation. They were also very attentive to their customers, both on the phone and while interacting in person. I was in and out in a reasonable amount of time (probably about 40 minutes), so I didn't have to wait very long. I bought new tires mid January of 2021 from discount tire to go on my new wheels for my 1998 corvette. I bought so many tires for my corvettes, trucks, etc from Tomball location it's insane. But I'm sure others bought more than me. I was informed that my tpms sensors I had would not work on my new wheels. OK. BUT the good news is that, they can order some. Not happy but they offered a 50% discount. OK nice thank you. I told them I would pay for them when they come in a and also pick up my old wheels and tires which were in good condition. I called them two weeks later before the winter storm hit and they said it was on the truck and will be here on Thursday guaranteed. No missed calls, no voice mail left, ...nothing from DT. Called them after the storm. DT said the truck was delayed due to the storm and will come in the first week of March.  And they would call me guaranteed. No missed calls... no voice mail left, ...nothing from DT. Called them on March 13th...."we have no order information for those TPMS sensors DT said. But ...will order them and have them here in 1 week. And they would call me guaranteed. Again...No missed calls... no voice mail left, ...nothing from DT. Called again on on March 25th. Still nothing delivered. But!!..they will be there soon and they would call me guaranteed. Thats right....No missed calls... no voice mail left, ...nothing from.DT. Called on April 12th.DT had no idea or have any info on the sensors ordered but they are under new management and will order them asap AND!!...he himself (assistant Manager?) would call me guaranteed. Said he would also give me a 50% discount.  Again?? So for free now? Oh...No missed calls... no voice mail left, ...nothing from DT Called again on May 12. The assistant Manager said he had no information but will call me right back. He did.... then informed me they are under new management....hold up...no sir that was used last month. Try again. He said..with out a doubt they will be there on May 21st. And...he would call me guaranteed. No missed calls... no voice mail left, ...nothing as expected. The attached screen shot is from my new phone which captured half the calls and the contact name is from a Keith from 2007. I kept going back there since 2007 because they communicated and had favorable prices. Especially when a manager by the name of Bruce was there. I'd rather pay more for good customer service and will do what they promise. Worst possible service and business model in regards to customer service. I had a noon appointment to rotate and repair two small tubes tires. I also had a trailer tire with a screw in it. I showed up at 10:30 hoping to get in early. Louis advised they were busy and I could run and errand and come back that there were several people waiting and also appointments about to arrive. He glanced at my tire for all of one second and said it could not be repaired due to loc of screw. His tact was lacking and dismissive.He advised that I could come back 10 mins before noon and get checked in. I stayed in the pk lot and came in at 11:30. I eventually got checked in by john at 11:50. I would say he had a much better approach and tact than Louis. The time on the screen said I'd be out by 1:15pm. I told him that's too long and that I needed to be out sooner. He said he would try to get me out by 1245. It's now 12:40 and nobody is working on my truck. Looks like if you come to discount with an appointment you should reserve half a day for service. Don't expect much. It may be better to spend a little more $ and go down the street where time is valued. Pathetic!!! I will say the employees work hard, but the business model stinks read more
