    Fastest state inspection ever! Line moved really fast! Very efficient! After I handed my keys over and my vehicle was taken into the inspection bay, I waited for a couple of minutes until a crew member came back to the waiting area/lobby to ask that I need to get my windshield wipers replaced and primarily the front ones and not the rear one. The crew member then educated me on some sort of color grading system of stop light colors as to when its necessary to change out windshield wiper blades which was kind of confusing to me. I then asked the crew member to take a look at a receipt in my pocket to see what date was on the receipt and to check my windshield wipers again. The crew member said "okay" and I then quickly went back to the waiting area. After which I was probably out in maybe six minutes! It was great. It really pays to be diligent in making sure you have everything sorted out prior to going to an establishment like this. Before coming here I made a quick trip Walmart and swapped out to a new cabin air filter and a set of windshield wipers (front and rear) and left the old units in the trunk to confirm that they were changed prior in case I had to challenge a claim saying things needed replacing. My two vehicles getting serviced here isn't going to make a big dent in business for this location, but if you're going to send your grandma out here for an oil change and she isn't a mastertech do make sure she doesn't get swindled into replacing her brake pads, calipers, rotors, and engine block.

    The failed reason.

    A waste of money. Inspection failed for missed or broken lug nut meaning one, nothing else and no explanation on which is the actual issue. Does bother wasting your time and money.

    Long story coming. Bear with me, I rarely complain publicly…read more So today, I took my car (with a baby and an 11 year old) to get inspected. Anyway, I went to Valvoline off of Main Street. After waiting for about 20 minutes, it was my turn. There were two inspectors who were working together. One took a quick walk around my car and informed me that it would not pass inspection. I asked why. He said that 1) my back windshield wiper was damaged and needed to be replaced. I asked if they could do that for me and he said yes. Perfect. He was going to make a product/service sale. No problem. 2) My windshield brow tint was too low. He proceeded to pull out a tape measure and measured the outside of the windshield to show me. It was 7 inches long. Apparently it can only be 5 inches. I asked him if I should take my car to the dealership to get it fixed since they were the ones that installed the tint. He said, "People sell illegal tint all the time. But you won't pass inspection with this. It's too long." It wasn't illegal. And I've had it for nearly 4 years. Now, I don't know much about cars. I'll be the first to admit it. So on my way home, I called my husband and told him about it. He told me that he's taken my car to Valvoline for the past 3 years and it's passed inspection every time. When I got home, I went to the department of motor vehicles website and looked up inspection specifications for the brow tint. I may not know things, but I can google them. According to the website, you measure the brow tint from the inside of the vehicle. Not the outside. When measured from the inside, it's less that 5 inches. When he got home, my husband took my car to another shop in town. They agreed it was perfectly within inspection guidelines and they passed my car. I'm livid. I feel like my time was wasted and it was taken advantage of that I didn't know anything about cars. Because I would HATE to think that they don't know inspection guidelines at Valvoline. And if they don't, I definitely wouldn't trust them to do anything under the hood of my car. From here on out, we will be taking our vehicles anywhere else.

    Absolutely unacceptable customer service…read more I scheduled an appointment for a transmission service on my 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 6.2L with the 10-speed transmission. During my first call, Michael Miller asked for my mileage (104,000 miles) and told me he needed to confirm with the transmission technician before scheduling the service. I never received a call back, so I had to follow up myself. During that second call, Michael told me he had spoken with the technician, everything was good to go, and he scheduled my appointment. The frustrating part is that I specifically asked him to confirm everything beforehand because I didn't want to waste my time. He had multiple phone calls and several days to verify whether they would perform the service. I received appointment confirmations and reminders, rearranged my work schedule, and showed up for my 7:00 AM appointment. After waiting about 30 minutes, I was told they wouldn't perform the transmission service after all and was told, "Maybe someone else will, but we won't touch it." So after confirming my mileage, telling me he had spoken with the technician, scheduling my appointment, and sending reminders, they waited until I was standing in the dealership to tell me they weren't going to do the work. I lost valuable work time because of their poor communication. The only response I received was essentially, "Sorry, here's your truck." If you're not going to perform a service, don't tell a customer it's approved, schedule the appointment, and have them take time off work just to turn them away. Respect your customers' time.
