Abel was able to help me get a tree removed promptly and efficiently for good value. Only issue is the tree shavings were left all over the front parkway. Repeated calls and texts were sent. Promises made but it's been over two weeks now with no follow through at all which is disappointing when you pay in full and don't get the job completed. ---- 3 weeks later, still no answer and still left a mess. Abel claimed I told them to leave the shavings. Why would I want shavings on my grass? They also broke my sprinklers and didn't tell me or fix the issue. It's really frustrating to not have a job completed after I gave them full payment. They were recommended by my HOA and I will be letting them know not to recommend them. I called Abel again to clean my palm trees on my personal home. His son came out right away and quoted us, but said the price is good if we do the job that day (Monday). We agreed and gave him $50 deposit to secure the job. He left to get the crew but never returned and never called us with a status. My husband called back and they weren't able to come that day so we rescheduled for Friday. Friday comes and they don't show at the time agreed upon and they didn'tcall us to give us an update. I called and Abel Jr said he'll call the crew to see when they can come and call me back with an ETA. He never called back. I requested my $50 deposit back and got no response. This is not what I would expect from being a repeat customer, but I guess they don't care about securing business. They will never get my business again, for my personal or my HOA. This review has nothing to do with the quality of work this company does-- based on their other reviews, I'm sure they are good at what they do and without a doubt other people have had good experiences (although it seems others have not...). This is a matter of professionalism. I sent out a request for a quote on Angi and this was one of the businesses it sent to. I was hoping to get some work done on my girlfriend's backyard and wanted to know the price so I could save up for it as a gift to her and her mom. This morning around 8am, my girlfriend's mom was woken up to the soundbanging on our front door and window, from people saying they were looking for me and that I was requesting to get work done on the yard. This was done with ABSOLUTELY ZERO COMMUNICATION BEFOREHAND. No call or text to confirm it was okay to show up, literally nothing. I woke up to a couple missed calls and voicemails, turns out they were calling me WHILE THEY WERE LITERALLY AT THE FRONT DOOR. To show up to somebody's house unannounced is insane to me, and I didn't realize at the time that they even had my address. In the voicemail, they even say "let us stop by", this does not mean to just appear at someones front door! Whenever I found out, I gave them a call back asking why they showed up like that and they said that, since they were only a couple minutes away, they decided to stop by and "drop off a business card". Dropping off a business card is one thing, but waking my girlfriend's mom to the sound of STRANGERS banging on her door AND window is extremely unprofessional, no matter the intentions behind it. Not a simple knock either--continuous banging until someone answered the door (everyone in the house was asleep). Not to mention the surprise being ruined! A simple text would have avoided all of this. And their failure to do such a simple and necessary task says something. read more

My gardener told me they would do my tree trimming but we couldn't decide on the date and it would be in January. I wanted it before the rain started. They told me I should try a tree climber,not them after I sent a picture. I went on Angi and this is the only one that popped up. I filled out the blank form about getting an estimate and it said they would get back within 48 hours. About 2 hours later a personable young man, I believe was Abel, showed up to give me an estimate. Now I would note, my wife wanted it chopped down but I asked for an estimate for both jobs. I talked her into saving a tree. Cheaper than my gardiner was. Btw, My gardiner did it 3 years and it was only 2 guys. Price was lower then them and he said they could start tomorrow (this was a Friday) . I hadn't talked the wife into it yet so I tole them I would call. I called and told them, Monday works for us. The said fine showed up around 1030 Monday morning. They because it was a giant crew of I think 7, along with a wood chipper. Jose was the one in charge. I was terrified of them cutting my fiber drop lead and this is why I wanted it trimmed, before the storm. I would say in maybe an hour and a half, they were done and cleaned up everything. The tree trimming work was satisfactory but they destroyed some of our landscaping and broke a ceramic bird feeder. Both Able and Francisco said they would come back to the house to view the problem areas and "resolve the issues". Francisco said he would return the next day (Friday) but he did not show. Able (supposedly the Big Boss) said he would come to my house on Saturday (did not show) and when I called him again he said he would come on Monday but did not show again. The good: they showed up promptly with a full crew to give a bid, and matched the lowest bid I had. They did the work efficiently and cleaned up my yard decently enough. The bad: they didn't grind the stumps down all that well (nowhere near the 1' depth they promised) and tried to cover up how poorly they'd ground them and the irrigation pipes they broke. Luckily I raked aside the trimmings and convinced them to grind more and repair the exposed pipe I found before they left. However after they left I discovered two more broken pipes and large sections of unground stump (directly over where the pipes needed to be repaired, of course). They also left their large stop sign on my front lawn and didn't leave me any of the mulch from my branches that I asked to keep. Emails to come pick up their sign at the very least have gone ignored. read more

So my Mom has been hesitant to get rid of the forest. When she finally agreed there was too much forestry around the house, I had a small window to get agreeable quotes before we'd have to look through the jungle another year. I am SO happy Able came, as the quiet confident strength he exuded, along with being closer to Mom's age category, gave her confidence to move ahead. We got a great quote, as Abel had stated he couldn't be beat. He was right. But the three days of checking was too long. Mom changed her mind. Aurgh! Fast-firward 6 months and she mentions it again. I fly on it and call Discount Tree-cutting. Cesar answers, but sound hesitant about the quote. Gheez! Mom backs away again. Fast-forward 2 months, and let's get 'er done. We're scheduled for 3 days out. They were supposed to call on their way, but a doorbell at 7am was the announcement. Six gents, ready to roll. One interpreter. We review the scope, move the cars, and they get to it. Teamwork makes the dream work. A few first remove all laying brush. Another few start breaking branches where they can. Two man the tree-eating truck. Like a well-oiled machine, they're cutting branches and hauling away. When it finally comes to the behemoth, they huddle to talk about how they'll get it down without damaging mine or my neighbor's houses. I'm videoing... Like the pros I now know them to be (although I think there'll be some back-hurting), they cut pieces of branches, catch them, cut them again, then haul them away. So that's how a 60-year-old tree dies... Wow, can we see clearly now! They came back 2 days later to grind the 5 stumps and wrangly roots in the yard. I recommend them to anyone! read more
