Writespace has become a wonderful resource for me as a writer, and I love watching it grow…read more Probably my favorite thing about Writespace is that it seeks to cater to more specific needs of Houston area writers. For example, there are classes that are geared toward specific genres such as horror, YA lit, etc. There are classes that focus on style, polishing your manuscript, finding an agent, etc. It's nice to take a class with a more specific focus (rather than something more general where it can be frustrating to get feedback from classmates who have no interest in your genre). The instructors have been great, and they are experienced writers who really know their stuff about the various aspects of writing and publishing (in part because many of them are published). Also, as a teacher with a very hectic schedule and living a bit outside of city limits, weekly classes in person aren't always ideal for me, but Writespace offers online courses as well as weekend courses to round out their weekly classes. I've been to several of the weekend classes, and they've all been top notch! I like that with my busy schedule, a weekend course is an easy commitment, and at the prices the classes are currently, I really feel I'm getting my money's worth and then some (a huge deal on a teacher salary!). I also tried out an online course (first time to ever try one since they were a very new thing when I was still in college and not offered for my area of study), and I was very pleased with the quality of the class. I would definitely recommend giving Writespace a try, particularly if you are a writer who is a) seeking high quality instruction and b) focused in a more specific are of fiction (such as horror, mystery, YA lit, etc).

It really didn't take too long before we could get some basic steps down and tried incorporating some interesting turns into our routine, and she was very patient in making sure both of us had a firm grasp before moving onto the next level. Our wedding dance had some interesting turns, spins, and steps with a big finish incorporated into it. The stress and anxiety of it all leading up to "The Big Day" didn't help, and at one point my hubby took a wrong step, but was able to correct it flawlessly without anyone noticing--all thanks to her! Each appointment is 45 minutes. EXACTLY 45 minutes. If she says be there at 5:30pm, you better not knock on that door at 5:29pm (and steal a minute from the previous couple) or at 5:31pm because you already cut into your time slot. Of course, you can double book. That said, she is very professional and methodical in her guidance, and seems to live and breath the art of dance!

Rebecca was very quick at responding to our emails and is really informative in each email she sends you. There is a 5 class wedding package that worked perfectly for us. A few months before the wedding, we weren't sure if we wanted to spend extra money on taking dance lessons for the wedding, but as the date was getting closer, we were feeling the pressure of putting together something, so we decided to check out yelp and came across The Dance Whisperer. We felt the price was reasonable, and I had confidence based on reviews that Rebecca would be able to help us from looking ridiculous during our first dance and sure enough she made us look amazing! Everyone raved about how great we were and even my mom said our first dance was so amazing and my mom RARELY compliments anyone or anything. We scheduled our five sessions after our first class to make sure we could get in the books before the wedding and that was not a problem since Rebecca had perfect times for us in the evenings after work. We learned about the origins of different scent families, how fragrances are structured, and even some unexpected facts... like the fact that amber comes from the digestive tract of a sperm whale.
