Just had an extremely horrible encounter with one of the managers here. I was looking at a top in the mirror and she screamed at me and told me to not look at clothes in the mirror and accused me of throwing clothes on the floor....it was my own purse and sweater on the floor. I've never been treated so poorly in a store in my life. I would avoid and go to one of their other locations. Sad because I have shopped here for years. read more

Lots of business and casual clothing pieces here. There's nothing particularly fancy here but there are some good basics here. It doesn't look like this clothing is of the highest quality but if you need some everyday basics or comfy casual clothing, you can stock up on quite a bit here. As much as I love shopping at Discovery, I cannot bring myself to give it anymore than 3 stars. I love Discovery because it is like buying disposable clothing. I can go in and buy a cute dress to wear out for $10. Granted, it will not be the greatest quality. The clothing here usually does not wash or wear well. But, I am okay with that because I do not really like to re-wear clothing. It is awesome when you can find some already super cheap clothing on clearance! I come to this location the most, but I feel like it is not as clean or organized as the Vernon Hills store. There are always long lines and staff members sitting around doing nothing. However, I feel like the Buffalo Grove store has the greatest selection of clothing. A couple Yelpers mention how there are no dressing rooms, but after coming here for a while, you kind of know your size. If it does not fit, just bring it back within 2 weeks with the tags and receipt and you will be fine! read more

I am certain that if I was 13-20 yrs old and a petite little flower, I would absolutely love this place. Prices are pretty cheap-I bought my daughter 2 pairs of leggings for @ $11, of course one of the one size leggings were so big, they even fit ME, although I wouldn't be caught dead in turquoise nylon leggings trimmed in lace. I noticed immediately there were no dressing rooms, though so much of the stuff stretches(my god, it's 1972!) that you probably wouldn't need to try it on. Seriously, just walls and walls of stretch leggings and tops that would be difficult to remove from skin if you were caught in a fire. My daughter wanted a t shirt and some designs were cute but the material was soooo thin, absolute crap. I told her we'd go to Walmart and get some boys fruit of the loom t's and I'd silk screen them with skulls. The thin, crappy t's were immediately forgotten. I won't comment on the girl bordering on obese who was shopping here, other that to offer that the slutty sausage look is not appealing. And I can tell you that because I'm a fat middle-aged mom. We aren't coming back here, except to return the turquoise leggings, which are too big. read more

I love this place. And yes, I love this place because it is c-raaaazy cheap. Honestly, where else can you buy a shirt for $3, or a pair of solid flats for $10 or less? If you're on a budget, need to find cheap clothes that you aren't going to be super attached to, then this is definitely the place for you. They recently remodeled this location, so it's looking kind of snazzy. Well lit, expanded shoe section, and pretty friendly staff. There are a lot of basics in each of these Discovery stores: T-Shirts, Leggings, Camisoles, Jeans, Sweaters, Dresses. And of course a good number of pretty skanky/club clothes. The other reviewers mentioned that there isn't a dressing room. Fact. You can just guess the size -- or just buy it, try it on at home and return it. Not a big deal. Just stay within their strict return policy, and you will be just fine. Just remember: You get what you pay for. read more

I love love love this place! I'm very tight with my money right now because of school and when I need a little upgrade on my wardrobe, I head here! They have EVERYTHING! I always walk out with soo much for under 100! One downside is that the clothes are very cheap, but if you know how to take care of them, it should last a little while..I still have a few tops from like 2 yrs ago. To me, it doesn't matter..I always walk out with a lot! This place is for you if you're on a tight budget and need new clothes...I never get sick of it here! read more

Love this store, I can always find something for a cheap price and its nicely laid out. Their clothes are decent quality for the price you pay. 10 bucks for a shirt sometimes less. I came here my first time last week and I'm already a fan. The clothes are very stylish and cheap. I've heard you get what you pay for here, but I've also heard from friends who have shopped here often that their clothes have yet to rip or stretch out. I bought a really nice shirt, I don't really know how to describe it, but it had a nice lacy detail for the back. And I was complimented numerous of times. :) The downside to this store is that you can't try the clothes on. But if you have a pretty good imagination and just put the shirts up against yourself, you should be able to tell whether or not it'll fit. Most of the clothes are pretty tight and stretchy and should fit in my opinion. read more

I retract my previous review. The girl I mentioned quit shortly after I left it. I can only assume it was do to being made fun of in spanish behind her back. Something I witnessed 1st hand. The clothes are cute, and very cheap. Almost every tshirt you buy is see through, so make sure you get some tank tops to wear underneath. Every item of clothing is made out of cotton and if you throw anything in the dryer from this store (minus the jeans), you can just give it to your toddler, because that's how much it will shrink. Everything I have from this store (again, except the jeans), is laid out to air dry. No matter how you care for these clothes, they are so cheap, they just aren't going to last long at all. This place is pretty amazing. REALLY cheap stylish clothes, and they always have new stuff! I HATE that you can't try on clothes though (no fitting rooms). Seriously. What's up with having to buy clothes and take them home in order to try them on? Also, you get what you pay for. The clothes are not high quality - my super-cute purse is falling apart at some seams although it's still perfectly usable, and the neck on one of my shirts is all stretched out (it's design doesn't help). I walked in and right a way was told " we are closing in 30 mins and we don't have dressing room" not a hello or a welcome. I was looking for a shirt in a small and ask one of the employees if she could check the display to see if it was a small. After her eye roll she told me that the store was closing and she didn't have time. Then she turned her back to me and started gossiping in spanish to her friend I later discovered was the MANAGER. The prices are cheap because the clothes are cheap. And so is the help. I learned my lesson and with never go back here again. RUDE!!! read more

I asked if she could direct me to where the jeans were and without even looking up she claimed they didn't have that pair... How do you know if you don't even lift your head up!? They sell cheap polyestery thin clothing that will last you about 2 washes. Whenever I shop here, I also feel like I'm the oldest one shopping there. The good thing is that you can get staples for real cheap like undershirts and t-shirts. The bad thing is that the jeans are really poorly made. They will fall apart in the wash within a few washes. read more

This is my first bad review on here but I'm writing this because it's literally been months since I've been back due to 2 terrible encounters with a extremely rude cashier. The night prior to the incident, I walked into the store purchased a top and since they don't have changing rooms I tried the top on at home, instantly realized it was not my size and decided the return it the following day. I come in to do the return and I couldn't believe the amount of hatred this cashier had for me. She accused me of wearing the top and re-tagging it. I showed her the receipt and pointed out how I purchased the top last night and had come here straight from work, so what she was accusing me of was lacking in evidence and beyond rude. So she told me that the tag was on the wrong side? I don't know where she was coming from and I don't understand her need to yell at me and act in this manner but I have never been back. The other incident I had walked in with a bag from autozone and she came up to me right when I walked in saying I had to leave it at the counter if I wanted to walk around. I understand if the store experiences theft or whatever but I can tell you #1 it will never be from me and #2 you can be polite and enforce rules, but treating everyone who walks in like they're shady is wrong and bad for business. read more
